Apparently lightening struck something important down the road from me, and I my internet/phone service was out. While at work, I got on the online chat (which was actually pretty fast compared to my past experiences) and they had someone work on it remotely right then. A local technician called me shortly after, and gave me his cell number to call in case the service was still out when I got home. It was, so I called and he worked on it that evening! I had service back by 6pm. Needless to say I was impressed on how quickly they addressed this. Where was this when I was first staring out with CenturyLink?! I hope this is the kind of service they can consistently deliver.

Received word today that issue was resolved but would only be given credit from when time i submitted a work ticket and not from the time they were able to track that we had been receiving less than optimal service. Will be concealing service as soon as possible. I was told when I signed up for service that I was not under a contract. Funny, now that I want to cancel, I'm under contract!

A year has gone by and the available speed has increased greatly. I used to barely be able to watch…read morevideos, but now I get more than enough speed to watch any videos I want... when it is working. They had a streak of some months when the service was generally available, but the last few months it has been *very* uneven. Videos pause from time to time and are slow to start. Sometimes my email times out and email is one of those things that work over *dialup*!!! I suspect when it gets like this it is because there is an equipment problem and they are not capitalized well enough to be able to get good equipment or to repair what they have. So service is very uneven. That said, if you need more than limited Internet access, there just isn't an affordable alternative. The cell phone companies limit how much data you can use without overage charges and the other wireless operator (used to be Va Broadband) has a cell like business model. Satellite is the pits, I don't know anyone who is happy with that. I don't know when the central Virginia area will have really decent high speed internet, but iWisp, even with all it's reliability problems, is the closest any provider gets. I just wish they would get the bugs out.

Anyways, I'm happy I found this place and I was quite surprised at how large the store was especially in Charlottesville. After reading the negative review, I wasn't expecting much when I walked in, I just wanted my phone activated and my contacts transferred from my old phone to my new one. To my surprise, not only was the customer service rep helpful and friendly, she even helped me package up my old phone so that I could just drop my old phone off at Fedex on my way back home. I was super happy at how quick the service was especially since I was slightly hungover from the night before and didn't want to be dealing with rude people... This will definitely be my go-to place if I have any problems with my phone. I am only giving 4 stars b/c I would like to see how their service is if I were to have any problems w/ my BB (i've been a little spoiled by the Fair Oaks Verizon in giving me replacements w/out insurance) so I'm going to wait & to see how their service compares :)
