A friend of a friend recommended this all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ spot. Stopped by this past Saturday around 4PM with a group of 7 adults. I think it was $26.99 per person if I'm not mistaken. We found metered parking spots right in front on the street and waited maybe 10 minutes before we got seated. Indoor decor was average and they had TV screens on the walls playing k-pop music videos. Menu was on the smaller side (comes out in sets of 4 at a time) but portions were a good size. I was surprised they didn't have any seafood available. Another K-BBQ place I went to had squid (my favorite). Quality of the meats was pretty good. Some of them weren't too flavorful in my opinion so I had to dip some in the sauces that were provided which was fine for me. Everyone got the steamed eggs on the side which was delicious. Don't get the pork belly (the one that looks like thick bacon) if you don't have much time left because it's thick and takes some time to cook. There is a limit of 100 minutes seating time, otherwise I believe they start charging you more money every additional 30 minutes you're there so watch your time! I also sat right in front of the grill and kept getting small oil splatters which sucked because it was getting on my clothes and on my skin. I felt like their ventilation wasn't that good. They didn't have the vents that hovered right above the grill. Not for our table at least. My clothes had to be thrown into the wash once I got home because they smelled of K-BBQ and had the oil splatters. Service was average. It took them awhile to come flip the meats/cut them into smaller pieces (my cousin ended up grabbing tongs from the counter himself and flipping meats for us since we had limited seating time) and at one point, the grill needed to be changed and it wasn't changed so the meats that were placed on top burned quickly. We had to signal one of the busboys to change it for us. Went elsewhere for dessert and returned back to our cars in front of the place around 8/9PM and it was PACKED. There were a lot of people waiting outside. Would I come back? Maybe not. Unless a friend REALLY wanted to come here. Definitely not my number #1 choice for K-BBQ. read more

My mom and I walked into this place because we were hungry and trying to get out of the cold one Saturday so we didn't realize it was AYCE. Obviously this was our bad, so can't blame O2 for this so take this review with a grain of salt. On weekends, they charge dinner prices ($38pp). I recommend only ordering the marinated meats. Anything else stinks when you cook it and why not choose marinated when you have the option? I wish they had more variety in their menu (lots of variety in meat, just not much aside from that) because neither of us are huge meat eaters (we go to K-Bbq places for both the bbq meats and the appetizers which round out the meal) so if you are a serious carnivore, you'd probably enjoy it here. I would say the quality of meat was just ok. It's AYCE so manage your expectations. In terms of service, ours was ok. My main gripe was with our server immediately piling our entire serving of brisket on the grill and standing there cooking it for us before we politely had to tell him we could manage ourselves. There's only 2 of us so it would make more sense to cook in sections instead of overcooking our meat and then having it get cold because we couldn't eat it fast enough. Other than that, the servers were moderately attentive and got us extra napkins and lettuce pretty quickly. Out of personal preference, I wouldn't revisit, but not discouraging others if they absolutely love meat and have been curious about this place. read more

This was my second (and last time) coming to O2. Not sure if it was just an off night, but it was a really poor experience. 1. Service was NOT good.. maybe it's because we were in the back room but we were pretty much ignored the entire night. There is absolutely no help cooking the food here. We were 40 minutes in before getting a chance to order a bottle of Soju and get second round of meat. After we ordered 2nd round of meat, we never saw a waiter again. We had to ask bus boy to get our check. 2. Ventilation is nonexistent. We all smelled horrible and had to all go home and change our clothes. Also maybe no there is no AC but it was really hot in the back room. IMO - the back room shouldn't even have tables, it was a terrible dining experience! 3. No one ever came to refill our sauces. 4. Price went up significantly. It's now $34.95 per person (before tax/tip). 5. Other complaints - steamed egg wasn't good, lettuce wraps were all broken or had holes, sauces also lacking quality. The only time I travel far to Bayside, I go for food so you best believe I had high expectations! Coming here on Memorial Day holiday, the wait was painfully long. The restaurant was a lot smaller than I had thought with a main room and then a smaller area in the back. For a group of around 11, we were separated into 2 groups. Throughout the meal, there was one worker serving us. He was really chill in that he was young and actually tried to converse with us. However, he may have been too chill as he just grouped our order with the other group when we didn't want the same foods. The worker cooks for you (pretty slowly) but it's much better to cook it yourself so your time limit doesn't get taken away faster. And yes, they are apparently strict with their time limit as they were counting us down since the beginning. I prefer their beef over their pork. Their pork belly was too dry and stiff. The beef thin brisket was my favorite. Honestly, the place fell short of my expectations. The food was good, but there wasn't anything spectacular about it. So last night I went to this place and it was my first time ever eating Korean BBQ. We were a group of 6, we got there around 5pm on Saturday. We had to wait about 30 minutes since most tables only seat 4 people. Once we were seated, the table was already set with water, salad, two different types of kimchi as well as several dipping sauces. I really liked that each person had their own set of everything! The menu consists of different types of beef, pork and chicken to order. Everything we tried was delicious but our favorite was the spicy bulgogi pork. We also tried hanger steak, marinated chicken , shaved brisket and top blade steak (super tender and tasty). We also got two bottles of peach makgeolli which is a super light rice wine. It was really like juice, us three girls finished the two bottles like nothing. The guys got a bottle of soju, I'm not sure which one but the server asked if they preferred cocktails or hard liquor and they said hard liquor and boy was that stuff strong! The service was great, they cooked the food for us since we were all newbies to Korean bbq and they always kept our grill full. All in all it was a great dinner and we will definitely be going back. **The only reason I did not give this restaurant 5 stars is because when they brought over the chicken, they placed it on the grill next to the almost cooked steak. Came in here on a Monday night and were seated in about 10 minutes. The dining hall was rather packed but seemed to flow nicely. The waitstaff were tending to all the tables efficiently and frequently replenishing the tables with more meats to grill. Our server took our orders quickly and verified the age of all our children. Kids 4-7 are 50% of the adult fare which is $26. Pretty awesome! We tried different meats/marinades/cuts. It was a bit underwhelming in flavor so I asked for garlic, jalapeños and lettuce wraps as these were only provided upon request. The portions are very large (but maybe they were accounting for our larger group) and the waitstaff tend the iron cast inverted top flipping and cutting the meats to grill. Their steamed egg was a favorite...in total we ordered 6 of them! And their fried rice cakes are super spicy!! We enjoyed cooking with the dome and the food BUT the waiter really took his time getting us more food and we had to sit several times waiting for food to come. Came here on a Tuesday lunch time and I'm pretty shocked how much has changed cause of Covid. The servers do not cook at your table -- which was fine for us because we prefer to cook our own meats anyways. The quality of the meats were way better than we anticipated. Ordered the beef brisket, marinated pork steak and BulGoGi, and spicy pork steak. The BulGoGi came with onions which was nice to cook but I wish it was more tender. It was rough to eat. Hands down one of the best AYCE Korean BBQ spots ever! They tend to get pretty packed during prime eating hours, so anticipate a wait if you plan to go. You get to choose up to 3 meats from a set menu when you put in your first order. Their order sizes are decently sized, so make sure not to order too much or you won't be able to finish it! We ordered a variety from the Lunch B set and i think my favorite was the beef bulgolgi because the meat has been marinated and it was very flavorful without the need of the sauces they provide. We also tried the spicy fried rice cake and to be honest, it was not my favorite. I thought it was too doughy and glutinous that it just didn't really taste like other rice cakes that I've had before. W O W. I never had korean bbq before and was super excited to finally try it out. My 2 friends suggested O2 so we all went one night for dinner. Parking was a little tricky since we had to find street parking. We parked not too far away so it is possible, you just have to circle around. We went on a Sunday night and it looked like a long wait since there were 2 bigger groups waiting, but was only 10 ish minutes. When you are seated, there are already sauces and condiments and the AYCE menu on the table. I attached a picture of the all you can eat menu. It is priced at 26 and change for unlimited meat and some sides such as rice, steamed egg, and a house salad. You can order up to 4 different meats at a time but can always order more afterwards! The service is very good; they cook for you right in front you and always are there if you need something else or are ready to order again. Just a tip, sometimes the oil from the cooking meat can come hit you at your seat so bring a sweatshirt if you are uncomfy with that feeling! Also don't put your cup too close to the cooker where the oil will usually hit. Since the cup is plastic it can get melted if it's too close (that happened to my friend's cup lol). We came at 10:30pm on a Tuesday night and it was hella crowded... for a Tuesday night. We waited about 20 minutes which isn't too bad but given we were all hangry and the smell is delicious we were antsy to sit. During the weekend and Holiday, you have a limit of 100 minutes to sit down. Fair enough. We ordered the hanging tender steak, pork belly, pork jowl, top blade steak and spicy chicken. The hanging tender steak and the top blade steak was so good we ordered it twice. Staff was attentive. Great ambiance. The restaurant itself if fairly small, hence why the wait can be pretty long. As a Native Korean, I think this place was too sweet for me. The side dishes and the marinated meat were too sweet. One thing though, the quality of the meat was definitely a lot better than any other AYCE BBQ place! Their side dishes need some upgrade and needs to be less sweet though. Been trying to check out more kbbq places, saw the reviews and decided to give this place a shot. We came for dinner during a weekday. My friend and I were greeted fairly quickly and seated in the back. The menus were clearly posted which I definitely appreciated. Our server came and let us order, we decided to try a good variety of meats. Our server informed us that we had to cook ourselves due to covid (which was fine) but he also didn't give any instructions for how long to cook different cuts of the meat when I asked and just walked away. The food was still good but it wasn't until an hour and a half in when someone brought us more of the sauce that we found out they had given us old congealed sauce which was likely sitting there for awhile. Overall I was pretty disappointed with the service and I've had significantly better quality options for the same price. I'm guessing from the prior reviews that this is probably an abnormality but doesn't make up for the poor service. Unsure if I'll be returning. read more

This is an AYCE (All You Can Eat) Korean bbq place. It's a very busy place here so come early for seats. I love the fresh salads that they give. It's crisp and clean. You can tell it's made fresh. So disappointed in their service and food. We were given a 100 min time limit but not sure why they keep lowering the gas grill to low when we change it to medium or high. We spent about 15 min cooking the thin beef brisket which should have cooked really quickly. Also, I would have to order multiple times because they keep forgetting... The servers were very inattentive too. As for the food, the marinated kalbi was basically not marinated. You don't get any kalbi marinade flavor from the meat. I won't be coming back. Going back to cast iron pot for ayce kbbq. Cast iron pot may be a little bit salty on their marinade but their servers are attentive and doesn't keep lowering the heat on the grill. Came here for the first time on a random week day evening around 6pm and the place was packed. Waited around an hour for a two-top. $26.95 for AYCE is a great deal. This was the first AYCE KBBQ place I've been to where the servers cook the meat for you as well. We started with the spicy fried rice cakes and a steamed egg. The steamed egg is what made me choose this place for dinner. I love steamed eggs and O2 didn't disappoint. The egg was fluffy and flavorful. The best part was that I could order as many as I wanted! The fried rice cakes were good as well, but I didn't want to fill up on them. The protein choices are a bit limited here, but what they have is pretty good. The portions are HUGE, so if you're here with just two people, it is better to just order half portions so you can try more of the meats. We had the beef bulgolgi, the top blade steak, the pork jowl, the tender steak, and the spicy pork. Of all the meats, I enjoyed the pork jowl the most. They also give plenty of lettuce wraps, pickled daikon wraps, and salad to help round out the meal from being just a bunch of meat. My only complaint is that the meats they have are mostly very lean. So they tended to eat sort of dry. Part of it might have been that the person cooking for us tended to let things cook a bit more than they should have. If I were cooking myself, the meats would have spent 25% less time on the grill. The omission of kalbi is pretty evident here, but for $26.95, can't complain about them not giving a premium meat like that. They should have an option to add-on a portion of kalbi for an extra charge. read more

I love the O2 name. Breathe in the aroma! It may be packed and the wait can be over an hour, but it is certainly worth the wait for AYCE KBBQ. They've only been open for 4 months, so the newness/popularity is still sizzling. If you are waiting in the vestibule area, they keep the door open because the huge ventilation fans needed for the table grills creates a huge draft that blows in through the front door. They also keep the 2 separate air conditioners running full blast and if it's humid, water is dripping down, so stand away from those. You notice all these things when you're watching K-Pop videos for an hour. There is a 2 hour limit on AYCE, but I noticed that most people don't stay the full 2 hours, nor can they eat that much, so the turnover is relatively fast. Next time, I think we will eat later since they open until 2am on Fridays & Saturdays. After 9pm should be optimal after the crowds have dispersed. Once seated, a limited array of banchan are laid out, including a tossed salad. Besides the meat, you can order additional items such as beef soup (clear broth), bean paste stew and fried rice cake. These are AYCE also and I love the steamed egg. We accidentally ordered an extra steamed egg and we polished that off too. We also ordered extra bowls of rice and the waiter gave us a weird look because who orders more rice when you have unlimited meat?? But the meat always goes good with rice and you can top it with steamed egg. You can also ask for romaine lettuce if you like to wrap your meat before consumption like my wife does. The XL grilling dome looked to be cast iron and heated very evenly from the gas burner. It was at least 16" in diameter and easily handled 3 different types of meat with room to spare. The bottom trough channeled the grease through a hole and into a bowl. Just be careful if water gets on the hot grease because it will spit and splatter at you and I felt some on my bare arms. Ouch. But it's all about the MEAT! We started with bulgogi, marinated chicken and hanging tender steak. The steak wasn't marinated so needed a little help with the course salt or sesame oil & salt. Next on the grill was thin sliced brisket, pork belly & soy pork rib. The owner who was out front taking names stopped by and said that he made the onion, garlic and jalapeno dipping sauce himself and that we should try it with the pork belly. An excellent combo! I was pretty much done at this point, but my wife insisted on trying the spicy pork bulgogi. It was a good choice and required another bowl of rice to cut the spiciness, which I split with my son. Downside? No Kalbi! We didn't stay for the whole 2 hour limit, but we were close. I don't think we would have been tossed out anyway because it was quieting down and there was nobody in the waiting area . The trio of guys next to us should have been tossed out since they were way over 2 hours grilling the whole time we were waiting plus the time we were eating. And they had the gall to leave an embarrassing 8% tip because we heard them say they were low on cash! SMH read more

As a group of 5 friends we had about a 30-40 minute wait around 8pm, so get ready to grab a seat in the lobby or hang out outside. If you do hang outside they will go outside and call your name when you're up. This is my second time here so I had a more focused choice, beef brisket and bulgogi were our favorites, maybe a little basic but I think these are great. You have about a little over an hour to eat as much as you can! Continually order after every completion. You can order the grape soju, my friends love it. The servers were great, funny and accommodating, we had John, a cool dude. Ask them to teach you how to play the cap game with the metal cap of a soju bottle. read more

Already on the table are side dishes and sauces. Their dipping sauce is great in my opinion, sweet and a hint of garlicky flavor. There are options given to you, for you to adjust the taste. Coming from someone who rarely eats meat, I love their beef thin brisket. Meat was seasoned nicely, and cut thinly. It cooked relatively fast. Wide variety of meat but lacks option in other dishes. Rice cake were quiet plain. It was basically boiled rice cake, stir fry for a hard texture and plated with hot sauce. Beef soup was alittle bland. Lack flavors in beef. They don't have kalbi, but they have everything else. O2 is my go to kbbq buffet. They are $10 less than the competition, have amazing selection (makchang is my favorite), cheaper beer and liquor than any other kbbq I've been to in NY, and most importantly the service is great. There's a reason why the wait for a table during dinner is so long. They are great. I've been going essentially once a week since they opened. I highly recommend O2. read more

They take all the order you make and never complain you order too much! Also they would keep coming check if the beef is good or not they would also ask if you need more or not. The choice can be a bit too limited and there is no seafood options. But the meat quality is quite good. For a all you can eat restaurant the meat quality is better than other All you can eat BBQ restaurant. U can also make reservations before 6pm, after that u can only walk in. When we arrived the place is about half empty. There aren't that many tables as it's a mid size restaurant. The menus were extensive and all very good. Service was fine and everything we ordered throughout dinner was brought out unlike some AYCE place where they just pretend they forgotten. The speed which food were brought out is a little slow but it is a table service place so understandable VS a buffet where u grab your own. U have a lot of the traditional BbQ and we also ordered a lot of steaks. Brisket, top glade steak and other. U have bean paste soup, steamed egg etc. By the team we left around6:30-7ish there were at least ten people waiting in the restaurant and 20 outside waiting! This was a long overdue KBBQ date, my pal and I had been planing to go to Picnic Garden since last year. A few Friday's ago we decided to come here instead and what a great decision it was. The time was around 8:30pm and there was a 20 min wait, this was not bad considering it was a Friday night, also time flies by when you're with good company. The price was very reasonable at $26 for unlimited meats. We noticed there wasn't any vegetable options, but this was fine since we were given unlimited salad, lettuce wraps, soups and rice as well as the banchan. We both felt the quality of the meats were very good and marinades was very tasty. This was an excellent meal, with great service and atmosphere.
