The four of us dined at Wolfgang Steakhouse for Valentine's Day! Two of us are local, so for a local to go out of their way to dine in Waikiki says something. First of all, the three hour parking is much appreciated. The receipt must be presented along with your HDL at the first floor concierge office next to the stage area. We had the hamburger, loco moco, chicken Caesar salad and lobster bisque. Three varieties of bread are served~white, onion and squaw. The desserts are amazing! We had the creme brûlée and the chocolate mousse pie. The crust on the pie is outstanding as is the mousse itself. We would like to thank Tim our waiter for his knowledge and expertise on wine pairing. If you are into wines, request Tim as your waiter. But if you do, tip him generously, he has two children attending Punahou. He needs your help. Lastly, a shout out to the GM Grant Hamura. If you need a laugh, have a convo with this gentleman. Lobster was a little overcooked, felt like you were chewing rubber. We did bring these issues up to the manager, who made it right by taking off 2 of the items from the tab. Got sat by a girl named 'Lauren' a while ago with an incredibly unsavory attitude. I have never met or been serviced and sat by someone with such a poor attitude. My advice to this young woman would be to find a job she enjoys doing, because when I'm on vacation I do not enjoy being treated poorly or receiving rude comments from staff. Our food was incredible and our server was fine, this girl was the only issue with our experience, if management is reading this... GET RID OF STAFF LIKE THIS! No aloha spirit from her. For lunch, great value im what you get. Service always consistently good. The atmosphere is relaxing and more casual than one would think, esp during lunch (my fav time to go). Views of Kalakaua are nice and during the day, you can easily people watch. Lunch specials include burger (extra for ala carte, cheese, avo, bacon, etc), steak sandwich, fish and chips, loco moco. Got the burger with thick cut bacon, and cheddar cheese. Starting at $13 is your basic that comes with delicious fries and onion rings! Crab Cake was an extra we got. Very tasty, flavorful. There's only one (large) and it comes with a salad that perfectly compliments the dish. Waiter was personable but focused too much on being funny and ended up messing up the order. :( My biggest beef with Wolfgang's was their inability to cook the burgers as requested. Those who ordered Medium Rare got Medium. Waiter told me that Medium had some pink in center but my Medium was definitely Medium Well. We were out shopping on our last day in Honolulu and stopped in here for breakfast. We almost didn't come in because we thought it was Wolfgang Puck's restaurant but it isn't. We were going to stop in for dinner the night before but opted for sushi instead. It is located inside a shopping plaza on the third floor. The ambiance in the plaza is a bit off and I can't put my finger on why....It's a busy shopping center too so it shouldn't feel off but it does. The restaurant was half empty. There were only 6 tables seated when we were sat. We asked for a table by the window and we're told they were all reserved... okay all four open tables were reserved okay lol whatever so we were seated in the center of the dining room which made for great people watching!! It was the most awkward staff I have ever experienced working tg in a restaurant. They were all very nice but they all also kept apologizing and I'm not sure why! When the host first greeted us he apologized for the wait... which would have been appropriate if there was any wait at all but we were only there maybe 30 seconds before he came and greeted us. Then we were sat and someone came over and poured us waters immediately and then our server came over and apologized for the wait again. At this point we just kind of laughed because we didn't wait at all! Maybe they got us confused with someone else who was waiting but we didn't wait for anything. They were on top of it. Breakfast was really good I got my usual scrambled eggs w cheese and fruit and fresh squeezed oj. The oj was delish the eggs were great and the fruit was fresh. Food came out quickly everything was good! When they came over to clear our plates they apologized for the service, the service was great i really didn't understand why they kept apologizing. Based on the name and prices, my expectations are high. My salad with avocado, shrimp, and leafs were fine, as was the mango smoothie, and the other dishes were decent but the filet mignon was not only over cooked to well done but not the proper cut of meat. The manager reminded me to the T of Jonathan Schmock: Chez Quis Maitre D' from Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Well, I'm not the Sausage King of Chicago, but I also wasn't born yesterday, and I've eaten and grilled enough meat in my time to know what it tastes and looks like. Truth be told that the manager didn't know was that I've sourced, selected, cooked, and eaten filet mignon across the world. I think what was disconcerting was the blatant attempt to pass off a sirloin as a filet mignon, over cook it, then charge me for the filet mignon price. Then, when I called them out on the deception I was lied to and attempted to make me seem as if I didn't know the difference aka gaslighting. To me, that reeks of tourist trap. As for the waiter, service was just ok, but he was new. I'd question if he has found his true calling because he didn't seem to want to be there and it showed. For me, this was a miss. I've had better steak at other less than prestigious restaurants and while I'm sure the staff sized me up on what I was wearing and appearance, I assure you that I'm no slouch when it comes to the expertise of food quality. I was at least nice enough to leave a tip, but I questioned after I left if it was deserved. I had another filet mignon a night later at Tommy Bahama's that was far better, more flavor, and service excellent. Aloha, our "girls" luncheon spot in Waikiki. Gladys must own stock in the restaurant as they take such good care of all of us, when she hosts her monthly girls luncheons at Wolfgang's. Great staff, super accommodating and friendly to all the hens here yaking away, lol. I love the food here, so fresh and delicious. The lobster bisque is amazing as well as all of the salads. So, I'll be fair, I just hope everyone has a better experience because this is a very nice restaurant. The best thing we had was the lava flow drink. We got the shrimp salad which was just shrimp and field greens. A very disappointing salad. I got the Taste of NY. The steak was ordered medium well. With the first bite it was obviously rare (almost raw) in the center. The potatoes and spinach tasted horribly. We've been here for four days and this has been the best meal that we have had beside sushi. My husband and I started off with a shrimp cocktail which was delicious. Then he had a small house salad and I did the beef steak tomatoes with mozzarella it was so good with the vinaigrette. Then we split a 16 0z Filet. I was a little worried cause it was charred on the outside howevet it was cooked perfectly. I will tell you the portions are huge even the size of the filet my husband and I got was way too much with the food that we had prior to the Steak. However, our most recent visit to Wolfgang Steakhouse was rated the best thus far, and we would like to share the experience. From the moment that we stepped in, the atmosphere was infused with warmth and sophistication, setting the stage for a remarkable dining experience. The restaurant was partially filled at 6:30, and we were cheerfully greeted and promptly seated by a window overlooking Kalakaua Avenue. We began by indulging in expertly crafted cocktails. The Negroni was a classic done justice, and a house-crafted gin recipe was an innovative blend of botanicals and spirits creating a refreshing elixir that was enjoyed along with the complimentary fresh bread basket. We enjoyed an exquisite appetizer, the oysters on the half shell. These jewels of the sea were impeccably fresh, served with just the right hint of tangy mignonette sauce or cocktail sauce, providing a delightful prelude to the feast that awaited us. Typical steakhouse menu, order your proteins and a variety of sides for the table. I had the kampachi since I'm not a meat eater, delicious fresh fish in a lemon caper sauce and broccoli. Hubs got the rib eye, cooked to perfection, cousins got the salmon, good sized portions and cooked to they liking (no pink - ugh, a travesty). Friends got the veal chop and tenderloin- both enjoyed). I had dinner at Wolfgang's Steakhouse while in Waikiki. Here are my thoughts: LOCATION: The location is terrific. Right in the heart of Waikiki with shops, bars, and restaurants all around you. Walkable to nearly anywhere you want to go. ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is very nice. Upscale, yet comfortable. We were seated by the window, which overlooked the busy street below. Noise level is good--more on the quiet side. STAFF: The staff here is exceptionally nice. Our server, Nate, was so kind, friendly, attentive, and professional. FOOD: Believe it or not, this is why I had to give this restaurant a 3 star. Would actually be more like a 3.5 star if that were possible. Let's start with the good. The Beverly Hills salad was really delicious. The lamb chop was also very good. It came sizzling on the plate and loaded with melted butter and a tasty mint jelly on the side. Now the bad. I ordered the filet mignon. This was a large, 16 oz filet for over $100. It came to me burnt on the outside and extremely tough. I've never experienced a filet like this before. It was chewy and had an odd texture to it. The seasoning was not good either. I can say with honesty that this may have been the worst filet I've ever had. And at an upscale steakhouse like this, that's a real shame. However, the peppercorn sauce that came on the side was really delicious. Overall, I would not come back to this restaurant again. Booked a reservation in advance and it was cancelled only few hours before our reserved time without specifying the reason. Called them and they explained that they cant open till 8:30pm and had us rescheduled. The waiting time for our food was very long. Our foods came our about an hour or more after we ordered. Steak - 5/5. It was amazing, im not a fan of steaks in general but their steak was crispy outside and soft inside. Oysters- 5/5 Lobster mac and cheese - 3/5. It was nothing too amazing. Came out super dry at first, seemingly like it was chilling in the kitchen for a long time. We got seated at a table with a street view. The waiter was asking us our drink orders. I decided to get a lilikoi margarita. This was good. I had to wash it down with my iced water. For soup, I got the lobster bisque. This had lobster pieces in the middle. The soup was creamy and hot. Excellent soup! For my entree, I had the seafood pasta. This was filled with mahi fish pieces, shrimp, lobster, and clams. The pasta was plentiful and I only ate half of it. Service was excellent by our waiters. They refilled our waters and the waiter even showed me where the restroom was. Very nice touch. This restaurant is within the mall. We had a wonderful time celebrating our daughter's 10th birthday luncheon. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had a wonderful window table to see Waikiki while we dined. The complementary bread and butter was really delicious. There is a limited keiki menu but our beautiful daughter ordered the Lobster Roll from the regular lunch menu. It came with a nice salad. She really loved it. The best part was her complementary Tiramisu because it was her 10th birthday:-) Mom ordered a Lilikoi Margarita to drink and the Seafood Pasta and enjoyed every bite. I ordered the Tour of New York, it comes with a NY Sirloin, side of Creamed Spinach, Mashed Potatoes and a slice of NY Cheesecake. Food was delicious and flavorful! My favorite was the garlic mashed potatoes! Our server was Justin, he did an amazing job taking care of us. Always checked in with us and made us feel comfortable! My family took me here for brunch on Mother's Day. The restaurant was FULL with some people waiting outside BUT we were seated quickly (we had a reservation). The restaurant is pretty and the staff members are very nice. In the beginning, we were asked MANY times if we were ready to order and by 2-3 different waitresses, one after the other, a little over the top. I've never had a Mamosa, I guess I'm not a morning drinker HOWEVER my husband suggested I try one (most of the women at the other tables were enjoying them).... I agreed, and ordered the pineapple mamosa. It was very good. Next time, I think I will try the guava mamosa. Our food took a long time to come out, I think at about a bit over 30 minutes of waiting, someone at the table made a comment about how long the food was taking. Being a lightweight and 1 Mamosa deep with no food in the belly, I really didn't care! Hahaa The food finally came and it was VERY delicious! I've been frequenting this establishment for years, taking friends visiting the island, clients, family meals, etc. I've always had my regular wait staff that made every meal feel special. It's been about a year since we came back and I have to say today, I was pretty disappointed. The prices for my normal lunch has doubled over the past year and to be honest, I feel the quality has as well. The taste of NY was always my go to but today it seemed mediocre at best. You'd think if the price doubled, maybe the quality would be improved as well. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad. Just meh. The new faces serving were nice and accommodating. The burger and loco moco satisfied my guests but the two steaks were just alright. You're no longer getting a deal for a great steak. Your paying fine dining prices for just ok. I'd rather spend the money for a steak at La Mer, Mortons, Hy's, or anywhere really. Ambiance was hard to judge. They're under construction so I don't want to be too harsh. What I do want to comment on was the heat. It was incredibly warm indoors. Borderline sweating at the table. Really, the only reason they still get 4 stars is because the wait staff was great. Lived in NYC for many years and know what a dry aged steak should taste like. Even had a wonderful meal at the Wolfgang's in the NYT building earlier this year. Checkin was also awkward. Had a reservation and hosts just told us to wait to the side even though the restaurant looked fairly empty and then asked 5 minutes later if we wanted indoor or outdoor. Shouldn't you ask that before? Another 5 minutes later brought us to a table without saying anything else. We were put in the back room which we shared with flies large and small. First off I'd like to say that I didn't pay for this meal bc it was a dinner party. With that, I feel more opinionated about the food since I ate on someone else's dollar. The general consensus I got from this place was that they made up for lack of flavor with size. Size doesn't matter, but flavor does. I ordered the veal chop (medium). The meat itself was really good, the texture was nice and soft. You could tell it was some good quality stuff. Buttt it relied a lot on the butter for flavor and you kinda had to spoon the butter over it to get the full oomph. I feel like the meat itself wasn't seasoned that much. The the lamb (not pictured). Meat was good, flavor wya? Idk if it's a steakhouse thing to solely rely on the quality/cut of the meat but it felt a little lacking considering the price point. The steaks tho seemed to be well liked, I heard no complaints from the other guests. My biggest (& probs pettiest) complaint is their onion rings. The sad, sad onion rings. I ordered it as a side to share with my 5th grade cousin LOL. They were battered in some weird flour & water coating that was fried? Idk but it was not good. Bad texture, no flavor, only that weird flour-y "coating". Istg Burger King's onion rings beat it by miles. Dessert was really good! I think I was almost in food coma land so I don't really remember taste but creme brûlée was pretty big, hot fudge sundae was just a hot fugue sundae.
