Our first impression was extremely positive. Great energy and ambiance for girls night out or a casual date. Our server Ian was very attentive and always made sure our water was full and refreshed, which was very appreciated with the humid afternoon. We looked ahead at the menu beforehand and we ordered the Chilean Sea Bass which was perfectly prepared! Although, I wished they had another option besides the quinoa, to pair with the fish. Everyone enjoyed everything. We were celebrating my sister's birthday, who was visiting from out of town, and wanted to try someplace new. If you haven't gone, it's worth the trip! Also, if you're having a large party, best that you make reservations weeks, if not months ahead to have your desired time. Enjoy!
One of the best tortellini dishes I've ever had. So rich and creamy with deep flavors. The Caesar salad is massive, but I really wish they'd cut the lettuce like a normal salad. It comes in long wedges and I'm sitting there hoping I don't look like a cow munching on some lettuce. I felt kinda awkward eating it... We paired it with the Cajun salmon, which was soo juicy. The starter dumplings ended up being way better than anticipated. Service here can be hit or miss. The first time we came, our waitress seemed completely uninterested and confused. The second visit, our waiter actually knew the menu, guided us well, and made us feel confident in what we ordered. Shoutout to our waiter with the mustache!
Earl has only been open for one month and there is already a line through the door. I went a girlfriend grabbed a couple shareable plates and some mains and had a very memorable night. We started off with the jumbo lump crab cake which was a hefty amount of crab, cooked to perfection. Our second shareables were the shrimp and pork dumplings which was a bit of a letdown given it was dry however, I did ask for some extra chili oil from the back which helped bring the flavors together a bit more. Would recommend that they visit this dish. For our mains we shared the truffle tortellini, which was divine - each bite was packed with flavor as well as the Chilean Seabass on a bed of bok choy, which was also the perfect dish. The servers were quite young and kept the drinks coming. They did check in very very frequently, but this may be because it is a new establishment. Had the Earl's mai tai/mango smoke show and both were smooth and just what you want from a cocktail. It is hard to believe that this was a CPK before. Earl's did a fantastic job remodeling the space and you almost feel transported to somewhere like Santa Monica. The vibe was fun, the ambience was lively, and I will definitely be returning.
We came in when they had barely been open. Expecting some set backs, or hiccups, we knew trying a brand new place can sometimes be a gamble. But I've never been more impressed. The inside is stunning. Dark and green vibes, with some Hawaii flare. The service was outstanding. So attentive, but not annoying. Everyone was so kind and helpful, talked about their menu and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs. I got the dumplings and the fish tacos. Both were delicious, but the dumplings stole the show! So. Good. We had an amazing time and will absolutely be back. Parking can be a bit tricky to find, but it's worth it!
FYI the address location on Yelp indicates this location is waterfront and at the back of a hotel resort property. It is not. Idk if it's moved or this was an old location. I had to walk to the nearby mall as this location is across from muimui. The restaurant is upstairs from the street and can be accessed via escalator. The interiors are lush and tropical with a garden'y flare. The prices are pretty upscale but i personally wouldn't say the restaurant is elegant. Maybe a slight step up from sports bar to steakhouse. The servers and hosts are very kind and thoroughly responsive; often checking in with your table and quick to bring your items. I had high hopes for my mojito as that's an island'y themed drink but it was just okay. The menu did have a good variety of offerings. I would be open to returning
Parking: I parked in the nearby Ross, bought something and they validate Service: Amazing, as a new restaurant they took the time to walk us through their menu and appreciated that we were kamaaina Ambiance: cozy atmosphere, modern but comfortable Food: all great choices, recommending the steak and sushi combo. just a heads up, the sushi is a bit different than your traditional sushi, but worth giving a try. would def be coming back
Good food & great service! Our appetizers & drinks came out super quick, so we were impressed. Workers were also very friendly. For food, I would recommend the spicy dumplings & truffle parm fries. My family also loved the pork chop entree. Atmosphere wise, the restaurant was pretty dark & super busy during dinner time. It also got a little toasty in there due to no AC, but the fans were pretty strong. I wouldn't recommend dressing for the cold here. All in all my experience was good! Will definitely be back again to check out their happy hour in the future!
Lucky enough to be here for the grand opening and it is going to be an amazing restaurant. The welcoming staff and all of the servers could not be more attentive. The interior is absolutely gorgeous and the food is delicious. They have an awesome happy hour with some really great deals.
The intention was to go for a cocktail- specifically the coconut cake martini. I had that and then a coconut old fashioned. This led to dinner at the bar since the service and ambiance was so nice. We split the Caesar salad and then split the fish prepared Chinese salad. Absolutely a delicious meal!! Our bartender took good care of us (Renu?) The second time we went the bartender (different one) was less friendly. But the salad and drinks were still good. We got the Caesar again and I got the old fashioned again.
** They opened like 2-3 weeks ago so i'll give them some grace. I hope to come back & update my review** Came here for brunch with my mom & aunty, we got sat, & did not get helped for 10+mins. We wanted to grab some things for happy hour (hh) but missed it because our server was no where to be found. - Got a small sparkling water for $9 lol - Kinda pricey, everything was about $25 on avg - Nashville Chicken & Waffles: Chicken was a lil spicy, which was nice! Other than that, the dish fell a bit flat - Avocado Benedict: The sourdough was so hard! - Streak & Eggs was the better dish out of the rest
New favorite restaurant. Came here with the family this last weekend and thought let's try it again a week later both experiences were exceptional. In Honolulu, this is the best Nashville chicken sandwich, hands-down. It just has the perfect amount of heat fixings and Good portion size.. love the coleslaw that goes with it.
Just got out of an amazing dinner at Earls! We had a few hours to spare while our flight got delayed so we are so happy to have spent it here! Nadine was our super server and she was incredible! Super attentive and knowledgeable on the menu :) Must haves are sticky ribs , crispy sushi and steak and sushi plate ;) Finish up with a cheesecake will you? Thanks for a great time! Mahalo
I enjoyed a fantastic brunch at Earls, the cocktails and food presentation was perfect, great young and informative staff, shoutout to Piper & Ben! Kid friendly, indoor and outdoor,and there's a lounge area. Bar/lounge has quite TVs. Happy hour looks fun! Definitely a must and will be returning!
I stopped in for a quick app and to watch the playoff hockey game. Right away you notice how big the place is, the bar is massive and had lots of seating which is a personal favorite. The restaurant gave me vibes from the show Southern Hospitality, could definitely see this place having a reality show here. Lots of younger workers, fancy cocktails and good food. I ate the dumpling appetizer myself and it was enough to be a full meal. Was really happy with it and highly suggest getting it if you're sharing or just want that for a meal. read more

Came here today after staying near at the Outrigger Hotel!! Very friendly staff and the restaurant itself was just so nice!! We came here during happy hour and it was good amount of people here but the food came out fast. We really loved how worked together to serve us the food and drink were great!! We had the deluxe burger and chicken nashville skewers and they were both 10/10. We also had the margaritas during the happy hour and they were so good!! The restaurant was very clean and played good music!! The music stood out to me compared to some places that just play anything!! Our server was Makayla and she was exceptional she really knew the menu and made sure we were sure of what we were ordering!! Makayla really made us feel at home and welcomed she will be a manager one day!! We will we will definitely coming back!! 10/10 experience!! read more

The food was fire! We got the steak truffle tortellini which was a 10/10 and the steak and sushi which was a 9/10. Our server Zack was very attentive and kind. He gave us a good overview of the menu as it was our first time at this restaurant. Zack also gave us good recommendations. The guava margarita was super good as well, not too strong and not too sweet. Ambiance was very aesthetic. read more

My partner made reservations and took me here for our anniversary dinner. It's a very interesting setup for sure. This spot is where the old cpk used to be in waiks, kind of by footlocker. Theres hostesses downstairs thats supposed to check you in and afterwards, you would take the escalators or stairs up and wait with a bunch of random people. No one tells you what to do afterwards. There's a lot of staff up there literally standing around doing nothing, so I just asked one of the workers to see if we were actually checked in. And they said just wait around this area. "This area" is where the servers are bussing and we were always in the way. What I'm trying to get at is that there's no "waiting area", you're kind of thrown in the mix. After we got our table, our server was super awesome. He deserves a raise for giving great recommendations. I forgot your name, dude, but you made the dinner experience that much better! The food is alright. I think the cocktails is really where it's at! We got oysters for pupus and the salmon sushi which was delicious. The truffle tortellini was my favorite and the pork chop was a little salty for me but cooked to perfection. The ambience of this place is loud, very busy, filled with alot of staff just standing around. Overall, it was an ok experience. Would maybe come back to try the other cocktails and happy hour menu. read more
Upscale & pricey. Very busy atmosphere. We had the "special" maple glazed pork chop (on the regular menu and a bit beyond medium well, making it a bit dry.) The salmon with aioli was nicely prepared and there was an appropriate amount of aioli. Rice was very flavorful. Broccolini was perfectly prepared and hot. The presentation was exquisite. The side dishes, however, unfortunately, were lukewarm . As we were leaving we heard the table next to us complaining about the same issue. We were there on New Year's Day, so I am sure staff numbers suffered leading to the issue. Waitstaff was a bit overzealous trying to upsell appetizers. Four stars in spite of stated disappointments. read more

Earl's is the pool bar at the Halekulani hotel. Signage is non-existent and I only found out the biz name while perusing the menu. ATMOSPHERE: The bar is seamlessly connected to the House Without A Key restaurant, so seating is a mix of low tops and poolside lounges. MENU: Pricey drinks, salads, small apps, burgers and sandwiches. BEVERAGE: Lava Flow It's not menu-listed but is available. Textbook creamy, icy-blended and perfectly sweet. SERVICE: Male server was friendly & professional. TIP: Come sunset time, live Hawaiian music and hula can be experienced from the stage by the kiawe tree. OVERALL: High-end hotel with matching F&B prices. read more

This is by far the BEST restaurant in Waikiki! It out does all the classics like Dukes, Monkeypod, etc... The food was phenomenal. Our waiter JP was Phenomenal. Just everything is phenomenal. Little observation, they must do castings because every person that worked there was model worthy. The atmosphere was what set it apart from everything, from the entrance to the different seating option. Everything about this place felt unique. read more

Everything we ordered was 10/10. The ambiance is super modern and chic! We ordered the oysters, tortellini, and steak and sushi wagyu bites. It was all so good!!! We went to go back and try other items on their menu!!! read more

This is THEE. BEST. SALAD. That has ever touched my mouth it's so insanely good the ingredient made me skeptical because dates in a salad sounds crazy but oh my god this is so good worth every penny. I got no beans and swapped ranch instead of peanut sauce. If u come here please try this, also service was incredible my server was so amazing and accommodating 10/10 will be coming back! read more
Incredible atmosphere right on the beach with super attentive service. The drinks we had were outstanding but also cost an arm and a leg at $22 each. Apps also cost around $28 a plate. Ultimately you are paying for the ambiance and the live band playing Hawaiian music throughout the evening. We came here right after we landed so it was a luxurious beginning at the Halekulani to our Hawaiian vacation. read more

The team at Earls at The House Without a Key are fantastic! Whether you're enjoying a pool day at the Halekulani hotel, or just popping in for a drink, the welcome is warm and the drinks are impeccably made and delicious. At 5PM every day, they have Hawaiian music and hula just before the sun sets. read more
