One of the best tortellini dishes I've ever had. So rich and creamy with deep flavors. The Caesar salad is massive, but I really wish they'd cut the lettuce like a normal salad. It comes in long wedges and I'm sitting there hoping I don't look like a cow munching on some lettuce. I felt kinda awkward eating it... We paired it with the Cajun salmon, which was soo juicy. The inside is stunning. Dark and green vibes, with some Hawaii flare. The service was outstanding. So attentive, but not annoying. FYI the address location on Yelp indicates this location is waterfront and at the back of a hotel resort property. It is not. Idk if it's moved or this was an old location. I had to walk to the nearby mall as this location is across from muimui. The restaurant is upstairs from the street and can be accessed via escalator. The interiors are lush and tropical with a garden'y flare. The prices are pretty upscale but i personally wouldn't say the restaurant is elegant. Maybe a slight step up from sports bar to steakhouse. The servers and hosts are very kind and thoroughly responsive; often checking in with your table and quick to bring your items. Earl has only been open for one month and there is already a line through the door. I went a girlfriend grabbed a couple shareable plates and some mains and had a very memorable night. We started off with the jumbo lump crab cake which was a hefty amount of crab, cooked to perfection. Our second shareables were the shrimp and pork dumplings which was a bit of a letdown given it was dry however, I did ask for some extra chili oil from the back which helped bring the flavors together a bit more. Would recommend that they visit this dish. For our mains we shared the truffle tortellini, which was divine - each bite was packed with flavor as well as the Chilean Seabass on a bed of bok choy, which was also the perfect dish. The servers were quite young and kept the drinks coming. They did check in very very frequently, but this may be because it is a new establishment. Had the Earl's mai tai/mango smoke show and both were smooth and just what you want from a cocktail. It is hard to believe that this was a CPK before. Earl's did a fantastic job remodeling the space and you almost feel transported to somewhere like Santa Monica. Good food & great service! Our appetizers & drinks came out super quick, so we were impressed. Workers were also very friendly. For food, I would recommend the spicy dumplings & truffle parm fries. My family also loved the pork chop entree. Atmosphere wise, the restaurant was pretty dark & super busy during dinner time. It also got a little toasty in there due to no AC, but the fans were pretty strong. I wouldn't recommend dressing for the cold here. All in all my experience was good! The salmon with aioli was nicely prepared and there was an appropriate amount of aioli. Rice was very flavorful. Broccolini was perfectly prepared and hot. The presentation was exquisite. The side dishes, however, unfortunately, were lukewarm . As we were leaving we heard the table next to us complaining about the same issue. We were there on New Year's Day, so I am sure staff numbers suffered leading to the issue. Waitstaff was a bit overzealous trying to upsell appetizers. My partner made reservations and took me here for our anniversary dinner. It's a very interesting setup for sure. This spot is where the old cpk used to be in waiks, kind of by footlocker. Theres hostesses downstairs thats supposed to check you in and afterwards, you would take the escalators or stairs up and wait with a bunch of random people. No one tells you what to do afterwards. There's a lot of staff up there literally standing around doing nothing, so I just asked one of the workers to see if we were actually checked in. And they said just wait around this area. "This area" is where the servers are bussing and we were always in the way. What I'm trying to get at is that there's no "waiting area", you're kind of thrown in the mix. After we got our table, our server was super awesome. He deserves a raise for giving great recommendations. I forgot your name, dude, but you made the dinner experience that much better! The food is alright. I think the cocktails is really where it's at! We got oysters for pupus and the salmon sushi which was delicious. The truffle tortellini was my favorite and the pork chop was a little salty for me but cooked to perfection. Great spot to watch the sunset with excellent cocktails (I recommend the Table 97 highly) but having sampled a few different ones, it's clear they try to earn the prices. A new cocktail bar located within House Without A Key, but an entirely separate cocktail menu and concept. Just opened last week! Tuda's drinks are super good - a great evolution of thr quality that Halekulani is already known for! We started with Earl's Daiquiri and moved onto the Table 97 (named for the table at which Hemingway would sit: Makrut lime-infused gin, lemon, local Kula Maui strawberry, Aquafaba, and absinthe) then onto the Exotica (presumably named for the genre of music inspired by Les Baxter and made famous by Martin Denny and Arthur Lyman - green Chartreuse, Strega, falernum, pineapple, and lime). We also had the eye-catching Kawehewehe, which was described as being like an Old-Fashioned. It uses blue-tinted Kuleana nanea rum, Tuda's smoked pineapple cordial, and a vanilla foam, served over a big beautiful clear ice cube stamped "EARL's." Super fetching. Also they have pizza made in an egg-shaped oven flown in from Napoli. I believe the flour comes from Italy as well. Yum!! Yes- Halekulani prices, but: FREE valet parking (be sure to bring a DD!), open-air, HWAK ambience, beautiful hospitality (mahalo Tuda and Kale!), and live music by one of my favorite groups--Pa'ahana!!!
