Decided to try Fire Grill since I was being lazy and didn't want to leave the hotel. Went during happy hour both nights. $8 margaritas were refreshing. Had the sausage appetizer, which was absolutely delicious. Smoked ribeye was prepared perfectly and the new white pudding desert was heavenly. On the 2nd night, I had the prime rib taco, which were fresh and delicious and the 1/2 rack of ribs w/ fries and fresh coleslaw. The $4 draft beer was cold and refreshing. The place is decorated modern, spacious and welcoming. Both waiters I had were tremendous! They were attentive, but not over bearing. I'd highly recommend you stop by here for happy hour. read more

The service while friendly were very much not knowledgeable of their own menu. A friend with a gluten allergy asked if the tacos were corn tortilla, the waiter said yes. Another friend asked if the chicken salad was grilled chicken, he also said yes to that. The tacos came out on flower tortillas & the chicken on the salad seemed to have come from a can & boiled. The fries however were really good and that's the only thing I can vouch for. Everything else was either flavorless & some how with way too much sauce. It isn't worth the price by far. So disappointed in our second experience here. Sherry, the regular bartender is rude, unprofessional, and not efficient at all. We sat at the bar and without acknowledging us, simply stated "it's going to be awhile." The bar was not crowded and it looked like she was doing her side work. Later, she was randomly telling us about a bartender that got fired and that she was a meth user and didn't need to be working here. As a patron, that is absolutely none of my business. I complemented the kid that was filling in previously, and she had nothing good to say about him - she complained about him several times while we were sitting at the bar. Lunch is better than breakfast. We had a credit for $15 per day per person through my companion's Diamond status. We had breakfast and lunch there everyday of our stay. Pro tips for breakfast- order the Hawaiian local fresh eggs. If you want, order it over rice and bacon. It tastes like a broke person's fried rice as they give you soy sauce on the side. Pro tip for lunch- I ordered the famous bbq ribs and they were very good. Nice and tender. I wish they came with a side of sauce. Tacos were good but mediocre. It's hard because I'm from CA, IYKYK. They always forgot about the 15% discount for Hilton Diamond members (only applies to the non-asterisked items). Tables are always clean and service was usually good. Enjoyed a really nice time with my buddy at Fire Grill in the Hilton Garden Inn on Kuhio. The place was packed at 6:30pm on a Wednesday night, and we had to wait several minutes before we could grab two seats at the bar. We specifically came here to have their bone marrow appetizer and try the ribs. My buddy said that they bought the ribs recipe rights from the former Tony Roma restaurant. They were definitely "fall off the bone" tender, and had a very similar taste, but had a bit more acidic taste, like apple cider; still good. The bone marrow came with two good sized pieces, along with several pieces of bread to enjoy. They were buttery smooth and delicious. Our bartender, Kris, was a champ. She handled the entire bar of a dozen diners and the drink orders for the rest of the dining room quickly and efficiently. She was friendly and helpful with food and drink suggestions. They do have a Happy Hour menu, which I will definitely check out in the near future. Although I really avoid going into Waikiki, Fire Grill is a spot that's definitely worth the hassle. read more

Came here during happy hour for dinner and they had some great deals! Sherry was our server and she was excellent! A lot of NY personality. She really made this an enjoyable dinner. I got the prime rib tacos and although small, they were tasty! I also got their truffle mashed potatoes which was also delicious! They also had baby back rib deals. A half rack was $22. Had an early big dim sum brunch late morning, picked up some souvenirs from Big Island Candies at Ala Moana, shopped the stores, got hungry, decided to try Fire Grill's Happy Hour eats. Their HH is from 3-6, quite an extensive HH menu. The day we were there, there was a 'special' on their pork ribs for $24 We shared beef bone marrow(2pcsof bones+2 pcs of French bread), crab stuffed mushrooms and octopus bourgignon. We asked for more bread and staff said $6, came on a plate with 2 pcs! Anyhow, all dishes are good and tasty, came out piping hot. Will come again next time to try their ribs. read more

My family, who live on Oahu love coming here for the ribs. We get together here because it's easy for them to get to and they love the ribs because it use to be Tony Roma's. Plus, the service is exceptional. Especially since my family frequents the place. If you like ribs then ok, but if you have food restrictions/allergies, then the food selection is very limited. The server I spoke to obviously did not want to seat us. When I asked if they were still serving food, the server sarcastically asked me what time it was and then stated oh yeah we are open. The whole interaction just seemed very off.... He made me walk, on my own, to the hostess just for him to state "oh, I'll take them" (we are staying at the hotel linked to this restaurant). After being seated, he then came back to the table just to inform us that they only had two roasted chickens left and another dish they were "running low on". The server never returned back to our table so my whole party ended up leaving. Mind you, they only had two large tables in the whole place. Stumbled upon this place for the happy hour. We started with the pineapple mimosa and margarita which were both very tasty. We then had the mai tai (our favorite) and a glass of the Cabernet. As an appetizer we shared the truffle bruschetta off the dinner menu. If you don't like mushrooms, you will NOT like this dish as it's all mushrooms. For $13, I don't think it's worth it for the amount you get. Lastly, my friend and I each had a taco off the happy hour special menu. The tacos were extremely basic with very little meat on them. We finally decided to meet at 8am (breakfast ends at 10am) on the Kamehameha Day holiday, since metered street parking is free. (I parked along the Ala Wai Canal.) Located in the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel on Kuhio Avenue (across from the International Marketplace), TR Fire Grill is immediately to the right when you enter the lobby. It's a little outdated and dark on the dining room side. The bar side looks brighter and more modern. Service was very attentive and friendly. I arrived early and chatted with the receptionist. She actually catches the bus to Waikiki! LOL! We were seated in the far corner of the restaurant - close to the beverage and cereal station. It had orange juice, coffee, hot water for tea, milk, and all kinds of cereal! Across the aisle from the beverages was the bread and yogurt station. Bagels and white and wheat bread can be toasted to your liking. Just place your bread or bagel into the rotating toaster again if you want more crunch! Remember to get your mini muffins, jelly, butter, and cream cheese (wrapped individually) here, too! There was a bowl of bananas on the counter, but we skipped it because we also ordered an entree. If you just want the self-service items it's $12.50, plus tax and tip. For about $6 more, I got a Vegetable omelette - nice and fluffy! It came with two sides. I chose Portuguese sausage and bacon... Haha! It was really good! Thanks, Donna, for a wonderful experience! This restaurant is a little dated and dark, but the bar side looks bright and modern! I wouldn't mind returning for the ribs! Had breakfast here while staying at the hotel it's located in. Nothing special and a weird set up. You had to get your own juice and coffee and if you wanted toast, you had to get that as well. Our server was very nice and joked with my husband about how he wanted his eggs cooked. I found the floor to be a bit greasy which when going up and down stairs holding hot coffee can be a bit treacherous. As with everything in Hawaii, it's crazy expensive. However we had to order extra bread to sop up all the yummy sauce. That was the only downside for two tiny pieces of bread it cost a ridiculous amount of money. We also had the burrata cheese and prosciutto. It was nicely plated but no bread or crackers to enjoy the cheese. We came before happy hour ended and ordered two cocktails each. I had the old fashioned and the pineapple mimosa. My friend had the mai tai and a glass of wine. All we good and reasonably prices. Our waiter was lots of fun. The restaurant is huge. My boyfriend ordered the skillet chicken "cacciatore". This dish has pan seared chicken thigh, mashed potatoes, tomato sauce, bell pepper, asparagus, parmesan and olives. He said this dish tasted good but over all it was way too oily for his liking. I went for the grilled salmon. This also comes with mash potatoes, mushrooms, asparagus, butter lemon zest and white wine. This dish tasted good. We also ordered one of their featured drinks to share. We chose the Blue Hawaii. I took a few sips and this was pretty good coming from a person who hardly drinks any alcohol. I like how this drink was sweet and I couldn't really taste the alcohol in it.
