Oh my goodness--I am so glad we tried Botanico. We went for happy hour, and by the end of the night, every single one of us agreed: we're absolutely coming back. This place first caught my eye while walking through Waikīkī--the interior and exterior are both so charming and thoughtfully designed. It has that effortlessly cute, inviting feel. I also love that there's a lanai, so you can bring your furry friend, which makes it feel even more special. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, checking in throughout the night without ever feeling overbearing--just the right balance. For drinks, we tried the red and white sangria and the Ulu Ulu. Everything was delicious. The sangrias were perfectly balanced--not overly sweet--and we all preferred the red. The Ulu Ulu was light, refreshing, and super easy to sip (I'd definitely swap the vodka for tequila again). Next time, I already have my eye on the limoncello spritz. We ordered entirely from the happy hour menu, and it did not disappoint. The truffle fries were so good--honestly delicious with or without the truffle. The focaccia with ricotta was also great; the bread leaned more toward a sourdough texture, and while the ricotta could have used a touch more salt, it was still very enjoyable. The chicken liver mousse ended up being a total sleeper hit. We weren't sure what to expect, but it was light, smooth, and incredibly flavorful--you'd never guess it was chicken liver. We also tried the quattro formaggi pizza with local honey, which was such a fun combination. The honey was especially memorable--so fruity and flavorful, it really elevated the dish. The prosciutto zeppole wasn't everyone's favorite--the seaweed element threw a few of us off--but the texture itself was beautifully light and airy. And the star of the night: the moussaka. Wow. Perfectly cooked, rich without being heavy, and the béchamel was absolutely incredible. I genuinely wish we had ordered more--I would come back for this alone. Already looking forward to our next visit to explore more of the menu

Came in here for the Happy Hour and was pleasantly surprised. I love the interior design of this restaurant. I will say sometimes the downstairs food court can bring up a smell so we decided to sit at the bar instead of by the window (not their fault) but if you're sensitive to smells it can affect you some what. Pricing is pretty good for drinks & food. Also found out they will be updating their menu within a week or two so it's worth to check it out again. Our bartender Rafael was nice & explained some things on the menu. Definitely will be returning to try the new add ons

Botanico is such a vibe. The ambiance alone makes you want to linger -- gorgeous decor, warm lighting, and that dreamy Mediterranean energy. The food absolutely delivers too. Fresh, perfectly cooked pasta, beautiful seafood, and flavors that feel bright and balanced. The Ocean Grill Plate was a standout, and the beet + cauliflower hummus was so good we were scraping the plate. Sangria? Dangerous in the best way. I actually loved dinner more than lunch -- the dim lighting really makes the space glow, and the dinner menu feels more expansive and special. Bonus: their happy hour menu is fantastic too. Definitely a spot worth going back to.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at Botanico Waikiki. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome, and the service was friendly, attentive, and perfectly paced all evening. We started with the happy hour scallop crudo and steamed mussels, both of which were delicious. The Garden Cooler and wines paired perfectly with our meal. For our entrées, the red snapper Acqua Pazza was incredibly fresh and flavorful, while the house bolognese was rich, comforting, and expertly prepared. The ambiance struck the perfect balance between relaxed and upscale, making it a great spot for a date night. Between the outstanding food, excellent service, and beautiful atmosphere, we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Waikiki!

I think we've found a new favorite restaurant! The five of us just loved everything about our meal last night. I had the beet and cauliflower hummus appetizer (refreshing, tasty, just lovely), Vongole (clam) pasta with broccoli and garlic white wine sauce (I love clam pasta, and there's is one of the best - the pasta tasted freshly made, so soft), limoncello spritz (refreshing, nice balance to my meal) and some of the Basque cheesecake (so good, wonderfully subtly sweet - loved it). My friends got seafood pasta, carbonara, and tagliata (rare beef with greens) - everything looked so good and we were all happily impressed. Check their website for happy hour times and they do give Kama'aina discount off non-happy hour meals. I can't wait to go back to try their pinsa!

We went there for happy hour (2-6 pm at the bar or lanai), and it was already pretty busy. There was only one bartender working while the rest of the staff seemed occupied elsewhere in the restaurant, so we ended up waiting a while for menus, drinks, and even the check at the end. They also messed up my check by charging my friend's order to my credit card, but thankfully it was voided right away--whew! The pricing was reasonable, especially the $6 house wine, which was surprisingly good. For food, I ordered the Caramelized Chicken Liver Mousse and the Prosciutto Zeppole. The liver mousse tasted good, but it was a bit too fluffy and heavy for my liking. The zeppole, unfortunately, was bland and greasy. I did enjoy the Funghi & Pancetta Pinsa that my friend ordered--it had a flavorful tomato sauce and was the standout dish for me. She also tried the Prosecco Flight, which was fun in concept, but having three glasses of bubbles served all at once felt like too much too soon, especially since they started to warm up. Overall, it was an interesting experience, but I'm not sure I'd come back for dinner. The food was just okay, and the staff didn't seem quite comfortable yet, which is understandable for a relatively new restaurant.

The restaurant is located at the Waikiki Shopping Plaza ground floor with validated parking. We visited Uramon, the speakeasy area, in the back with our friends. The area is laid back, intimate with Vinyl music playing. There is a wide range of cocktails and wine available. You can also order food from the restaurant. The service was attentive and the manager stopped by to check on us a few times. Our party ordered a range of dishes but our favorite was the vongole pasta. Moussaka was also delicious. I would recommend checking this spot out!

I had a great experience at Botanico Waikīkī! The service was great, and the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was flavorful and enjoyable. I would definitely come back!

    Inside is stunning!

The inside is stunning! Absolutely beautiful. We had a party of 7, and not one of us said we would be back. And that's a bummer. The service was just above being a problem. We seemed like an inconvenience, and I hate that. Drinks were refilled by someone else, and our server came by the bare minimum. She was mildly rude when we asked if appetizers on the other side of the menu could be ordered. The food wasn't good. Started with plantation tea that was so weak it tasted like flavored water. I got the side fruits salad, which was odd, but mostly enjoyable. It had cucumbers, olives, watermelon, blueberries and grapes. And candies nuts that were so bitter, like the sugar had been burnt. I also go the carbonara. The sauce was so thick that my entire pile of pasta was stuck together. And the sauce again, was bitter. Like maybe too much lemon? Then completely covered in fresh cracked pepper. I even shared bites around the table and everyone agreed. It was on the expensive side. If the food had been amazing, I wouldn't have cared as much. But so much food was pitty boxed to go.

Botanico Waikiki is officially opening on 10/30. We went to a special preview. Executive Chef Yuta "Tama" Tamano masterfully weaves together Italian and Mediterranean flavors in this latest of the Zetton Hawaii Group restaurants (I believe it is the 12th!). The concept they are going for is bringing urban Italy into the heart of Waikiki. It's elegant but not stuck up kine elegant. I can see it working for casual dining, as well as special occasions. APPETIZERS: Lava Funghi & Salsiccia (Charcoal battered portobello mushrooms stuffed with jet black fritto and Italian herb sausage over arrabiata sauce). I really enjoyed this dish and would order it again. Moussaka with Pinsa Bread (Greek style eggplant and potato gratin with creamy meat sauce and pinsa). I can't think of any other places that serve up moussaka so this is a welcome addition to the local food scene! I loved the homestyle warmth of this dish. Manoa Vegetable Terrine (Layered green veggie terrine with Potato Vichyssoise sauce). I loved this! It's wrapped with cabbage and was a symphony of green flavors. Would definitely order this again. PASTA: Spaghetti Pescatore (Seafood spaghetti with shrimp, clams, scallops in a rich tomato anchovy fennel sauce). Chef Tama highly recommended this dish. Pasta was al dente, sauce was flavorful and the seafood cooked perfectly. Get this. Fettuccine Carbonara with housemade Pancetta (Carbonara, pancetta, egg yolk, pecorino romano cheese and black pepper). Anything bacon and I'm there! This was a sinfully rich dish. Only criticism was the sauce seemed a bit too thick. ENTREE: Chef's Steak of the Day. My friend ordered this but steak was delicious. I was intrigued by the aligot potatoes. A traditional French mashed potato blended with cheese, cream, butter and garlic. It's supposed to be a cross between mashed potatoes and fondue! DESSERT: Basque Cheesecake. A little different take on basque cheesecake cos they brulee the top. This is definitely not like dense NY cheesecake, so considered yourself warned. This cheesecake is very fluffy and light. DRINKS: Luke the bartender said he is going to be making his own Limoncello, hopefully by the first week of December. I am super looking forward to that! OVERALL: I am so excited to have another Italian/Mediterranean food option, especially with Chef Tama at the helm. Go check it out! I'm excited about the lunch offerings (pasta and pinsa). PARKING: 3-hour validated parking in the Waikiki Parking Plaza. Note: Lunch service and Happy Hour offerings will be available sometime in mid-November. As they are working out the menu, it is a smallish menu until they hit their stride. Chef Tama said he will be adding in more dishes. They will be open 7 days a week.

We ordered one appetizer and two pastas. We picked up. Everything was so tasty and different flavors. The servers were ever attentive and made sure we were happy. We love the decor was cute. Then we went to the back to the speakeasy bar.

I highly recommend this restaurant! My friend and I ordered meat ball lunch plates! My friend had demiglace sauce and I had ratatouille sauce. The food and service quality was excellent! I can't wait to come back!

Highly recommend stopping by this Italian Mediterranean fusion restaurant. This restaurant had fine dining presentations, without the insane fine dining prices. For appetizers, we tried the Manoa vegetable terrine (stunning presentation, and a great way to get in more fiber on your vacation), Lava fungi & salsiccia (absolutely delicious), beet and cauliflower hummus. For the pasta, we ordered the House Bolognese (the sauce was soooo good, and pasta a bit overly al dente) and the Vongole e bottarga conchiglie (the pasta here was not al dente unfortunately, but flavors were still good). Quick tip - grab an Oahu coupon book if you see one on the street - they had discounts for this restaurant!

The third time ( this time ) we added another different menu. The more we come, the more we can try new menu and enjoy new tastes. Honestly El Cielo, all menu we tried even wine and draft beers, were top class, I love to nominate as the best restaurant in Hawaii. I am so glad I found the great restaurant, I was seeking for. Prices were not bad, as inflation everything costs are so expensive nowadays. Everywhere!! Their services are great too. If I live close by I would go El Cielo once or twice a week. Thank you so much. I will love to come back soon again.

Better than I expected.... Waikiki? I expected it to be expensive, touristy and overhyped. And yes,…read moreit is pricey and touristy. But the food is solidly good... I really enjoyed the octopus. Not too soft. It came with a nice chew and sat on a bed of thinly sliced potatoes. I could've eaten the whole dish by myself...No sharing next time. The egg custard was light, with a hint of bacon flavor. It was served in the shell in a high heeled shoe dish. So cute! The entrées were a bit of a different story... I ordered the pork shoulder at first and the waiter recommended it be done, medium rare. I have to say I am no longer a fan of bloody meat so I asked for it to be done medium. Honestly, it arrived and to my palate was a bit tasteless.... given that it was almost $60 I thought twice but was encouraged to send it back. The waiter was accommodating and I ordered the lamb chops instead. Two thick sliced lamb chops arrived about 15 minutes later and were a perfect medium served on a bed of potato and sweet potato. I really enjoyed this.... I like my lamb chops usually grilled, juicy and fatty. These were refined, trimmed of the fat and beautifully plated. I'd like to try the paella next time and more of the appetizers. Really good choice of fancy little cocktails also. I would reserve the back room for sure next time. That room has high ceilings and feels elevated. The front room where we sat was OK. I'd also opt for the outside seating area on a breezy evening... Otherwise it can be rather humid in the summer. Overall, excellent service and delicious food offerings. A bit pricey to be expected given the area.

I mentioned that it was just a general question and i wasn't coming that night. They informed me that it's validated for two hours and it's first come first serve. After the 2 hours its $14 an hour. Getting into the valet area was stressful enough as there was a car parked right before you turn and pedestrians that walk back and forth from their main driveway entrance. I also had to wait for valet for a bit too as there was 2 other cars in front of me and probably only 2 valet on duty trying to move cars forward. Reservations can be made on open table, but there was really no point to doing that since it's open seating during happy hour times. We ended up just picking a table that was in the shade, and noticed they only have their menu by QR code which is kinda annoying. The server was pretty nice tho and he brought my dog some water mid way. Their happy hour runs from 2-6 and the menu is slightly less expensive. My car was parked along the wall probably 20 steps away, but they could have at least taken out my car cause it was so hard to get out, but i guess it's nice they trust that i wont bang the car in front of back of me i guess even tho im a pretty terrible parker. at the time they didn't look as busy as when i first arrived, so i dont know why they couldn't have just done the bare minimum with just pulling out my car from the stall.

The wines selected for us were superb, along with the high-quality food served to accompany them. I was genuinely surprised to discover such a wonderful gem right there inside the market. Gino and the entire staff were warm, knowledgeable, and very attentive to all of the patrons. They made us feel so welcome, and we truly appreciated the wonderful service and hospitality. Even though we live on Hawaiʻi Island, we will definitely be back the next time we are on Oʻahu. Highly recommended!

Quite a bit of parties around us were partaking in this. Though a friend of mine didn't want to drink a whole bottle by herself, she tried a glass of Rosé from France which she stated was very delicious. I on the other hand had asked for a non-alcoholic option. Unfortunately, they ran out of ginger beer, all the sparkler options, and didn't serve any soda. The bartender looked pretty irritated by that point, and didn't even provide me with a glass of water. We would've grabbed a bunch of food to compensate for taking up a seat, but by then, the bartender had already dropped the check, and we hadn't even sat there for more than 5 minutes. The most interesting part was that an older couple sat next to us, similar situation. The gentleman asked for a glass of wine, and his wife asked for a non-alcoholic beverage. Though a different bartender came back with a sparkler option for her. Needless to say, I felt pushed aside and I don't believe I'll be back to this location any time soon. The only reason I didn't give this review a 1-2 star is that I recognize that Abe is busting his butt there. He was floating back and forth between this bar and Eleven. Separate review with my direct encounter with Abe at Eleven forthcoming.

We stopped in during their happy hour from 3-5 PM, and it immediately stood out as an ideal after-work pau hana or easy date-night spot. The space is relaxed and inviting, with a calm, tucked-away feel that makes you forget you're inside a hotel. The happy hour menu is impressively priced, with starters beginning at just $6, yet everything feels thoughtfully prepared and elevated. Highlights included the toasted bread with sun-dried tomato pistou -- warm, crisp toast paired with a deeply savory, herbaceous spread that's simple but incredibly satisfying. The mini poke bowl was fresh and well-balanced, showcasing clean flavors and quality fish without being overly heavy. The fish tacos delivered exactly what you want: crispy island fish, bright flavors, and a great balance of texture. We also tried the fish and chips, featuring lightly fried island fish, hot fries, and a creamy house remoulade that tied the dish together beautifully. The standout for us was the empanadas -- flaky, crisp pastry filled with tender braised beef and potato, finished with a bold aji rojo sauce that added just the right amount of depth and gentle heat. Service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed, and the overall vibe made it easy to relax and enjoy the experience. Whether you're looking for a low-key happy hour, a casual date spot, or a place to unwind after work, this is a hidden gem worth seeking out. Pro tip: Arrive early for happy hour -- once more people discover this spot, it won't stay quiet for long.

The cafe had a nice inviting feel that extended towards the back, the ambiance was dark and chic. The cafe was adorned with Halloween motif. We placed our orders at the counter which was towards the front section and our food were served at our table. I chose the Spinach Mushroom Goat Cheese Omelette and Lemonade for my drink. That homemade lemonade was so refreshing and delicious! Loved the delicious spinach and mushroom in my omelet. Hubby ordered a classic breakfast of Two Eggs w/ Bacon and Roasted Potatoes... wow! the bacon was crispy and yummy and just how I like my bacon cooked. He gave me 2-pieces, maybe because he saw me drooling over it LoL! but I'm telling you, Therese's Wagyu Cheeseburger on Brioche with French Fries looked mighty yummy too! Thank you, Terry, for inviting us to join you for a Sunday brunch. We had a wonderful first time dining experience here with good food and company! Review #3585

They only serve natural wines, which made everything feel really intentional and thoughtfully chosen. We had a Pinot Noir, a super funky orange wine that was honestly really cool to try, and Coenobium -- a beautiful white wine made by nuns. At one point, a bottle of red wine was opened and poured as a little salute for the room -- a simple, unexpected moment that was really wholesome. For food, we shared the venison pâté with bread and a Caprese salad -- simple, but done so well and paired perfectly with everything. It wasn't just about what we had, but how the whole experience came together. There's something really special about what they're creating there. We are already planning our next visit!

The staff is so sweet and accommodating and make excellent recommendations based on their understanding of their wines and your palate. Will definitely be back as they routinely add new wines to the menu throughout the month. The food menu is limited especially if you aren't a big meat eater but there's something for everyone. Low intervention and organic wines with such great range from light and bubbly to heavy with tons of body. Come for the wine and make friends with the staff and others around the bar. The setting is intimate so get comfy.
