Had an amazing selection of mocktails and cocktails. We were there for Mother's Day and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The aesthetics are beautiful!

Botanico is such a vibe. The ambiance alone makes you want to linger -- gorgeous decor, warm lighting, and that dreamy Mediterranean energy. The food absolutely delivers too. Fresh, perfectly cooked pasta, beautiful seafood, and flavors that feel bright and balanced. The Ocean Grill Plate was a standout, and the beet + cauliflower hummus was so good we were scraping the plate. Sangria? Dangerous in the best way. I actually loved dinner more than lunch -- the dim lighting really makes the space glow, and the dinner menu feels more expansive and special. Bonus: their happy hour menu is fantastic too. Definitely a spot worth going back to.

Vongole E Bottarga Pasta, Moussaka, Beef cheek

The restaurant is located at the Waikiki Shopping Plaza ground floor with validated parking. We visited Uramon, the speakeasy area, in the back with our friends. The area is laid back, intimate with Vinyl music playing. There is a wide range of cocktails and wine available. You can also order food from the restaurant. The service was attentive and the manager stopped by to check on us a few times. Our party ordered a range of dishes but our favorite was the vongole pasta. Moussaka was also delicious. I would recommend checking this spot out!

I think we've found a new favorite restaurant! The five of us just loved everything about our meal last night. I had the beet and cauliflower hummus appetizer (refreshing, tasty, just lovely), Vongole (clam) pasta with broccoli and garlic white wine sauce (I love clam pasta, and there's is one of the best - the pasta tasted freshly made, so soft), limoncello spritz (refreshing, nice balance to my meal) and some of the Basque cheesecake (so good, wonderfully subtly sweet - loved it). My friends got seafood pasta, carbonara, and tagliata (rare beef with greens) - everything looked so good and we were all happily impressed. Check their website for happy hour times and they do give Kama'aina discount off non-happy hour meals. I can't wait to go back to try their pinsa!

We went there for happy hour (2-6 pm at the bar or lanai), and it was already pretty busy. There was only one bartender working while the rest of the staff seemed occupied elsewhere in the restaurant, so we ended up waiting a while for menus, drinks, and even the check at the end. They also messed up my check by charging my friend's order to my credit card, but thankfully it was voided right away--whew! The pricing was reasonable, especially the $6 house wine, which was surprisingly good. For food, I ordered the Caramelized Chicken Liver Mousse and the Prosciutto Zeppole. The liver mousse tasted good, but it was a bit too fluffy and heavy for my liking. The zeppole, unfortunately, was bland and greasy. I did enjoy the Funghi & Pancetta Pinsa that my friend ordered--it had a flavorful tomato sauce and was the standout dish for me. She also tried the Prosecco Flight, which was fun in concept, but having three glasses of bubbles served all at once felt like too much too soon, especially since they started to warm up. Overall, it was an interesting experience, but I'm not sure I'd come back for dinner. The food was just okay, and the staff didn't seem quite comfortable yet, which is understandable for a relatively new restaurant.

We ordered one appetizer and two pastas. We picked up. Everything was so tasty and different flavors. The servers were ever attentive and made sure we were happy. We love the decor was cute. Then we went to the back to the speakeasy bar.

    Inside is stunning!

The inside is stunning! Absolutely beautiful. We had a party of 7, and not one of us said we would be back. And that's a bummer. The service was just above being a problem. We seemed like an inconvenience, and I hate that. Drinks were refilled by someone else, and our server came by the bare minimum. She was mildly rude when we asked if appetizers on the other side of the menu could be ordered. The food wasn't good. Started with plantation tea that was so weak it tasted like flavored water. I got the side fruits salad, which was odd, but mostly enjoyable. It had cucumbers, olives, watermelon, blueberries and grapes. And candies nuts that were so bitter, like the sugar had been burnt. I also go the carbonara. The sauce was so thick that my entire pile of pasta was stuck together. And the sauce again, was bitter. Like maybe too much lemon? Then completely covered in fresh cracked pepper. I even shared bites around the table and everyone agreed. It was on the expensive side. If the food had been amazing, I wouldn't have cared as much. But so much food was pitty boxed to go.

Walked by this new place a while back and finally came in today for happy hour. Great food at really good prices. The focaccia and ricotta was next-level delicious, and the staff were super cool. One small suggestion would be to make the happy hour draft offerings a little clearer, as I was hoping the draft IPA might be included. I think that could make the promotion even stronger and bring in even more customers. Overall, I'd definitely recommend checking this new restaurant out.

Highly recommend stopping by this Italian Mediterranean fusion restaurant. This restaurant had fine dining presentations, without the insane fine dining prices. For appetizers, we tried the Manoa vegetable terrine (stunning presentation, and a great way to get in more fiber on your vacation), Lava fungi & salsiccia (absolutely delicious), beet and cauliflower hummus. For the pasta, we ordered the House Bolognese (the sauce was soooo good, and pasta a bit overly al dente) and the Vongole e bottarga conchiglie (the pasta here was not al dente unfortunately, but flavors were still good). Quick tip - grab an Oahu coupon book if you see one on the street - they had discounts for this restaurant!

Botanico Waikiki is officially opening on 10/30. We went to a special preview. Executive Chef Yuta "Tama" Tamano masterfully weaves together Italian and Mediterranean flavors in this latest of the Zetton Hawaii Group restaurants (I believe it is the 12th!). The concept they are going for is bringing urban Italy into the heart of Waikiki. It's elegant but not stuck up kine elegant. I can see it working for casual dining, as well as special occasions. APPETIZERS: Lava Funghi & Salsiccia (Charcoal battered portobello mushrooms stuffed with jet black fritto and Italian herb sausage over arrabiata sauce). I really enjoyed this dish and would order it again. Moussaka with Pinsa Bread (Greek style eggplant and potato gratin with creamy meat sauce and pinsa). I can't think of any other places that serve up moussaka so this is a welcome addition to the local food scene! I loved the homestyle warmth of this dish. Manoa Vegetable Terrine (Layered green veggie terrine with Potato Vichyssoise sauce). I loved this! It's wrapped with cabbage and was a symphony of green flavors. Would definitely order this again. PASTA: Spaghetti Pescatore (Seafood spaghetti with shrimp, clams, scallops in a rich tomato anchovy fennel sauce). Chef Tama highly recommended this dish. Pasta was al dente, sauce was flavorful and the seafood cooked perfectly. Get this. Fettuccine Carbonara with housemade Pancetta (Carbonara, pancetta, egg yolk, pecorino romano cheese and black pepper). Anything bacon and I'm there! This was a sinfully rich dish. Only criticism was the sauce seemed a bit too thick. ENTREE: Chef's Steak of the Day. My friend ordered this but steak was delicious. I was intrigued by the aligot potatoes. A traditional French mashed potato blended with cheese, cream, butter and garlic. It's supposed to be a cross between mashed potatoes and fondue! DESSERT: Basque Cheesecake. A little different take on basque cheesecake cos they brulee the top. This is definitely not like dense NY cheesecake, so considered yourself warned. This cheesecake is very fluffy and light. DRINKS: Luke the bartender said he is going to be making his own Limoncello, hopefully by the first week of December. I am super looking forward to that! OVERALL: I am so excited to have another Italian/Mediterranean food option, especially with Chef Tama at the helm. Go check it out! I'm excited about the lunch offerings (pasta and pinsa). PARKING: 3-hour validated parking in the Waikiki Parking Plaza. Note: Lunch service and Happy Hour offerings will be available sometime in mid-November. As they are working out the menu, it is a smallish menu until they hit their stride. Chef Tama said he will be adding in more dishes. They will be open 7 days a week.

    Carbonara

I was very excited to try this place, as I love Italian and this place just opened in October. The atmosphere inside is super cute and I like the decor. The bartender was friendly as well. I liked the house red wine, and my friends liked their cocktails (except the martinis come in a glass where they are only filled a quarter of the way so they're pretty small). However, food wise, this is probably my least favorite Italian that I've tried in Honolulu. The noodles in my carbonara were kind of mushy and the flavor was pretty average. I unfortunately was pretty disappointed by the food and will go elsewhere for Italian in the future.

What a beautiful little bistro right on the strip but slightly hidden. This restaurant comes with 3 hours free parking at Waikiki Shopping Plaza. There is also a Kama Aina discount at both lunch and dinner. They also have a happy hour with discounted food and drinks. Enjoy the happy hour offers at the bar or lani only. The flatbread Pisna have the most eitherial crust, delicious! Very nice staff, the 3 hour free parking makes this a must try!

The staff were friendly but perhaps there weren't enough of them... a few minutes after we were seated, we still didn't have water or menus. We also had to ask for napkins and silverware when our food was served. There was no problem getting separate checks. You'll get the most bang for your buck with the happy hour drinks. The pinsa, however, was only $2 cheaper than the regular menu. It was a generous portion with plentiful toppings. Happy hour is available at the bar or on the lanai.

Located in Waikiki along Lewers Street near Kuhio Ave. It's on the first floor sharing the same building with Oyster Hale and Genius Lounge. They don't have any affiliation with any parking garages, you're on your own. The inside is surprisingly big and spacious with bar and outdoor seatings, and high ceilings in the main dining room. The main theme is Spanish Tapas with mostly small or bite size dishes with a few paella and main entrees. Everything sounded good! "Pinchos" dishes is really just one bite. The Smoked Salmon was nothing special. It ate like a normal salmon with cream cheese. The other flavors such as dill, pink peppercorn, and orange did not come out. The Buñuelos Butterfish Fritter were good. Light, airy, doughy! nicely fried and seasoned. Didn't really taste much butterfish. The Tapas were a generous amount! The Shrimp Ajillo was flavorful with paprika and garlic. Shrimp was cooked well. The spice didn't come out from the dried chili peppers. The best was the Housemade Baguette! Warm, soft inside, crunchy outside. Better than at Vietnamese restaurants! Unfortunately, the dish and sauce was too salty--even for a person who likes more taste. The Octopus Ala Gallega was very good. Nicely grilled octopus to tender with a nice charred taste. Just needed some salt. Potatoes were good. Chimichurri sauce was flavorful. Generous amount of olive oil. The Uni & Crab Pasta was all right. I've had better. The spaghetti was a touch too Al dente. The flavor was very one note with the rich cream sauce and uni. There wasn't the sweetness from the crab. The cherry tomato was just there to be there for a bite. Would have been nice to get some acidity and sweetness throughout the dish. The Seafood Paella was very basic. Very disappointed with zero char on the rice. What's the point of the pan? It definitely needed higher heat. Everything ate like it was covered and simmered on low heat until the seafood was cooked. Very simple. The Ube Basque Cheesecake was good. Not too sweet, not too much Ube flavor with a light custard-like interior. Overall, this was a decent meal. All the dishes were beautifully presented, but needed some seasoning adjustments. Don't think I'll order the same dishes next time. The service was excellent. Very friendly, information, and attentive server. Comfortable dining area. Unfortunate it has no parking affiliation. I'll definitely comeback for their Housemade Baguette!

We stopped in during their happy hour from 3-5 PM, and it immediately stood out as an ideal after-work pau hana or easy date-night spot. The space is relaxed and inviting, with a calm, tucked-away feel that makes you forget you're inside a hotel. The happy hour menu is impressively priced, with starters beginning at just $6, yet everything feels thoughtfully prepared and elevated. Highlights included the toasted bread with sun-dried tomato pistou -- warm, crisp toast paired with a deeply savory, herbaceous spread that's simple but incredibly satisfying. The mini poke bowl was fresh and well-balanced, showcasing clean flavors and quality fish without being overly heavy. The fish tacos delivered exactly what you want: crispy island fish, bright flavors, and a great balance of texture. We also tried the fish and chips, featuring lightly fried island fish, hot fries, and a creamy house remoulade that tied the dish together beautifully. The standout for us was the empanadas -- flaky, crisp pastry filled with tender braised beef and potato, finished with a bold aji rojo sauce that added just the right amount of depth and gentle heat. Service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed, and the overall vibe made it easy to relax and enjoy the experience. Whether you're looking for a low-key happy hour, a casual date spot, or a place to unwind after work, this is a hidden gem worth seeking out. Pro tip: Arrive early for happy hour -- once more people discover this spot, it won't stay quiet for long.

Charming ambiance [Honolulu HI]…read more We came here by invite from Terry K and also had the pleasure of joining Therese and her hubby, Kevin. The cafe had a nice inviting feel that extended towards the back, the ambiance was dark and chic. The cafe was adorned with Halloween motif. We placed our orders at the counter which was towards the front section and our food were served at our table. I chose the Spinach Mushroom Goat Cheese Omelette and Lemonade for my drink. That homemade lemonade was so refreshing and delicious! Loved the delicious spinach and mushroom in my omelet. Hubby ordered a classic breakfast of Two Eggs w/ Bacon and Roasted Potatoes... wow! the bacon was crispy and yummy and just how I like my bacon cooked. He gave me 2-pieces, maybe because he saw me drooling over it LoL! but I'm telling you, Therese's Wagyu Cheeseburger on Brioche with French Fries looked mighty yummy too! Thank you, Terry, for inviting us to join you for a Sunday brunch. We had a wonderful first time dining experience here with good food and company! Review #3585

The place is clean, laid-back, and set up for an easy hang with the boys. If you're looking for a solid spot to grab drinks, chill, and get taken care of right, these folks absolutely deliver. But holy hell... the NFL game volume was BLASTING like they were trying to communicate with the space station. I couldn't hear myself think, much less talk story with my buddies. Great bar, great service, great vibe -- but someone needs to take the remote away from whoever decided "stadium mode" was the move. Tone that shit down and Agave and Vine would be damn near perfect. It really sucks when you have to scream at your friends to talk story.

They only serve natural wines, which made everything feel really intentional and thoughtfully chosen. We had a Pinot Noir, a super funky orange wine that was honestly really cool to try, and Coenobium -- a beautiful white wine made by nuns. At one point, a bottle of red wine was opened and poured as a little salute for the room -- a simple, unexpected moment that was really wholesome. For food, we shared the venison pâté with bread and a Caprese salad -- simple, but done so well and paired perfectly with everything. It wasn't just about what we had, but how the whole experience came together. There's something really special about what they're creating there. We are already planning our next visit!

The staff is so sweet and accommodating and make excellent recommendations based on their understanding of their wines and your palate. Will definitely be back as they routinely add new wines to the menu throughout the month. The food menu is limited especially if you aren't a big meat eater but there's something for everyone. Low intervention and organic wines with such great range from light and bubbly to heavy with tons of body. Come for the wine and make friends with the staff and others around the bar. The setting is intimate so get comfy.
