Although I expected it to be a more casual atmosphere, it was causal with an upscale flair. I really liked it! We started with a beer and wine, and took our time with the menu. The hostess was a little odd, our server was very attentive and friendly! My husband ordered the smokehouse Mac with mixed brisket and really enjoyed it, although he expected it to be a larger portion of the mac. I asked the server if I should choose the shrimp and grits, or the smoked salmon, and he agreed that it was a tough choice. I chose the smoked salmon at his recommendation, with cheese grits instead of rice, and the brussel sprouts. First, the brussel sprouts are AMAZING! It's more like a hot "slaw" and it was perfect! And the cheese grits - yum! Peppery, creamy and rich. The smoked salmon was perfectly cooked and I ate it with the Alabama white sauce and without because it was delicious both ways - very moist! I wish I had ordered one of the fun drinks they had instead of the wine, although the Pinot Gris was a great accompaniment. Great overall experience. read more

Weird..... That is the only way to describe my experience . Me (solo for dinner while traveling for work). Make the 15 drive from the hotel. Clean, and inviting when you walk inside. I sit up at the bar, and it takes a few minutes for the bartender to come over. No big deal, it was a little busy, but nothing crazy. After a few minutes; the older of the two bartenders finally comes over, so I order a beer, no big deal. I also ask for a water. "Sure no problem...". I never got that water, even when asking again when my meal came. This is what is so weird.... Of the two bartenders, older guy (not younger guy with a manbun) was running all over the place. To go orders. back to the kitchen, busing a table. Socializing with a "regular" couple for about 5 minutes. He was truly hustling, but in the wrong areas. I had to wait a while to order, because when he was done talking to the older couple, his service bar was backed up. All in all, it took about 10 minutes to get one beer, and finally place my order. Again, not a terribly big deal. It was as if the younger bartender/manbun guy, couldn't make drinks, or didn't know how. The older gentleman was always in the weeds. Weird note, all of the servers, had to wait for wine glasses, because the way they are stored above the bar, only the bartenders can access them. (Wine is poured in a small vase type device, and then poured into a wine glass). This literally happened a dozen times in my 45 minutes of sitting at the bar. Poor design/process, and really needs to be fixed. Finally get my dinner ordered, and grab a margarita. Food came, before my margarita. Not sure how that happens, but again, the older bartender was always in the weeds. My dinner is finally brought to me, and it took 5 minutes (or more) to get silverware. I was literally eating the green beans and burnt ends, with my fingers, until I could get someone's attention. I again, asked for a water with my meal. No such luck. As for the food.... Mashed potatoes, very solid. Green beans, very solid. Burnt ends, less than impressed. It was more like shredded beef, than burnt end cubes. I finished my margarita, and was going to grab one more beer. No such luck. I was never asked if my empty glass needed a replacement. In summary, they literally had, about/very close to equal staff/ to customer ratio. But nothing is getting done. I used to bartend, and be a server. Everyone there; except the older bartender, barely moved/hustled. The kicker was when I asked for my check.... They dropped it off, I paid, signed the receipt, and left. No, "how was your meal?" "Oh crap, do you still want that water?" "Thanks for coming". Absolute crickets. I come to Germantown weekly for business.. For a multitude of reasons, I'm pretty certain I won't be back, or taking my customers here. How this place is profitable, is a head scratcher. read more

I'm on vacation in Tennessee and chose this restaurant because it seemed like a cute place. As far as the inside is is on the smaller side and it was packed. We were first sat beside this family and the tables were so unbearably close to each other that I could feel their breath on my face. I would've been okay with that but we are still in a pandemic and would have a appreciated the tables having some more space between them. We asked to be switched to the tables outside, where there was more space amongst the tables. We had Tia as our waitress and let me just say she was so unbelievably kind and patient with us. The food wasn't the best (no fault of her own) but with every issue we had with the food she was so nice and understanding with us and gave us amazing customer service which I am extremely grateful for. Now onto the food, we ordered the smoked salmon dip as an appetizer and for our entrees we ordered the brisket nachos, the burnt ends, Mac n cheese, corn bread waffle, and the smoked chicken chowder soup. The brisket nachos were good, my only issue was that I only had one small piece of brisket but other than that they were delicious! As far as the rest of the food, it came out not warm and just lacking of flavor. All the food was aesthetically pleasing to the eye but as far as taste and flavor it just wasn't there. The food was bland and if it wasn't bland they just added a bunch of spice to hide the fact the food has no true flavor. Even though the food wasn't the best the drinks were amazing. We had the margarita and it was so yummy. Overall, the restaurant is a cute place with great drinks and nachos. However the rest of the food did not come out at the best temperature and was just overall tasteless. And once again I am extremely satisfied with the customer service I received from our waitress, she was amazing read more

Revisited Wolf River Brisket, and so glad we did! The food was excellent, and the service was fantastic. We tried the purple hull pea hummus and were pleasantly surprised. My friend and I went for an impromptu late lunch and enjoyed most everything we ordered. The queso chili dip was a surprise hit after selecting it on pure impulse. I chose the burnt ends meal with macaroni and sweet turnip greens. The ends and macaroni were good but I discovered I wasn't a fan of sweet turnip greens. I had never had them before and didn't know what to expect, so blame me for venturing out on that choice. I actually exchanged my greens for brussel sprouts and enjoyed them much more. The hostess greeted us immediately and we were sat within 3 minutes. The server quickly came to our table and accurately put in our order. The trouble began when the food came out that we ordered in 4 minutes. It was cold and obviously had been sitting for a period of time. I asked for hot food and the server brought out another plate within 3 minutes that was room temperature. A few degrees warmer than the previous plate. I asked the server why this food comes out cold she said that cold food is normal here. So pretty much if you want to spend your money on cold mediocre food, this is the place to come to. Burnt ends: they were served no more than room temperature twice. The meat cubes were either chewy or straight up fat morsels tossed in a light mildly flavored bbq sauce. Mac and cheese: served cold both times. Definitely not your grandmothers Mac and cheese. It is more like noodles with a salty yellow sauce without any flavor of cheese. Service was very good. Server was attentive but not overly so. I had the brisket plate and it was excellent. The brisket had a good smokey flavor but it did not overwhelm the taste of the meat. My hubby, son and I are new to the area and are looking for cool places to eat. Yelp never fails in the quest !! Our server was Sam and she was so delightful. Very helpful while making our food choices. My hubby had the brisket with a cup of brisket chili and cornbread. Omg so delicious. The cornbread was made in the shape of a waffle and was so light and crispy. Very good. I'd go there just for that !! My son had the burnt ends. His only critique was the bbq sauce. First time ordering WRB via DoorDash so not sure if this was a one time experience or a regular thing, but wasn't impressed with what we received over the weekend and I think this place is overhyped in general. (To be fair, I have been in person too!) Sides were delicious, but brisket and burnt ends we had ordered were more fat than meat. Spent the greater portion of our mealtime picking out fat off our plates and from our teeth. Ordered the smoked salmon dip for an app and got all crumbs for chips. Walked in the place looks amazing and smells great!! We set down the server was very friendly and once we ordered they never came back until about 30-40mins later to bring a check. The smoked queso was wonderful but the 3 meat sampler was very underwhelming. The only meat that was hot was the smoked sausage and it had good flavor. The brisket was dry and took a knife to cut and burnt-end was just a soggy mess of sauce and fat. The Mac-cheese was bland with seasoning over the top and the famous waffle cornbread wasn't anything to be excited about very dry and lacked flavor. The ambiance of this place was amazing. Great music, great drinks, great service! The food was not great however :( They ran out of burnt ends, and those that got it, were only given a few. They shouldn't put brisket in their name. Burnt ins were like slow cooked pot roast. Brisket was week old microwaved and dry. No smoke ring. Sauce tasted like my son mixed catchup and water together. I have intended to try Wolf River Brisket Co. when I was in the area, finally made it there this afternoon & scored a small Patio Table. Dining Room was Open. Hostess & Server were professional & Covid-conscious. There were real Napkins & Silverware. The Combo (choose 2 for $10.90) allowed me to compare a Cup of Brisket Chili & a Cup of Brisket Stew. Both were thick, filled with real tomato chunks & traditional Homestyle ingredients. A thin triangle of Cornbread "Waffle" was new to me & also good. I've enjoyed Brisket in quite a few places, including Texas. This didn't really wow me. Next visit I will try the re-smoked Burnt End cubes, to get a better taste of the Brisket itself. read more

Tonight was the first time ever visited. It was really, really good and I wish that we had come earlier. We have brought generations of dogs and cats to the veterinarian next door but never tried it out. I had the brisket with Brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes and a cornbread waffle. She had burnt ends with macaroni. One kid ate smoked sausage and the other one had peanut butter and jelly. We really liked the food and the service and atmosphere. It seems that my reviews are either fours or fives, but I typically ask friends, read the menu and reviews before going somewhere. With Wolf River Brisket, I have actually been there four times and don't think I've ever written a view. I'm not sure why. The staff is always really friendly and really good at making recommendations. The food is fantastic. I used to always say I didn't like brisket. That is because I had never had good brisket and definitely not great brisket. The brisket at Wolf River is great! You can cut it with a fork. The brisket stew, sausage (pineapple is my favorite), cornbread, Brussels sprouts, broccoli salad and grit cake are all wonderful. I have enjoyed pretty much everything I've had. You may wonder why I am giving them a four rating. This place is cold. Summer, Fall or Winter I've had to wear a jacket while eating or I froze because I forgot my jacket. I do not like being uncomfortable while eating. I recommend giving them a try, but also recommend you take a jacket or coat with you. read more

This place is racist! My daughter, my mom, and I (black) walked in and no host or hostess was available! Bartender informed us there's a 45 min wait and they're understaffed. We went back to the car to find another restaurant and watched them immediately sit a white couple. I walked back in to find out rather there's a wait or not. Was told they're not sure what's going on and offered to sit us outside. I declined due to not feeling safe eating there.
