Patty Melt w/ House Cut Fries
    Adam H.

RP Tracks is a U of M area institution. We have been coming here for as long as I can remember. I was twelve when it opened so that makes sense. There have been tons of memory killing clouds made since then. I missed a good 15 year block where I stopped coming for no good reason but have been back with them fairly regularly for the past couple years. The place is divey and has a cool laid back bar vibe. I am old now so I haven't been here to drink at night in a while, so not sure if it's as cool as it used to be. Servers and bar staff are pretty eclectic, but are always really nice, very attentive, and fast. They have one of the best burgers around and I love the Patty Melt. French fries and fresh cut and really good. Chicken tenders and the Nachos are also faves. I messed up once and got the catfish special. Don't do it, not good bruh. They have an "animal friendly" menu and honestly have some of the best vegetarian options around if that is your jam. BBQ tofu may sound strange, but it's actually really good. '24 - 33/100

Delicious! Went in for a semi-late meal after a long day of traveling and our meal was great. They have lots of options for anyone even those that don't eat meat. Service was quick and very kind.

A solid local establishment. I'm a fan of their Reuben sandwich paired with tots, but you can't go wrong with fries. It's tasty and their secret sauce adds plenty of flavor. It pairs well with a Guinness. They have great service and a nice ambience all around. I need to come back to try their patty melt. Overall a solid place in the University area!

Jalapeño Burger and sweet potato fries

RP Tracks was my go-to spot in college for food and drinks, so I was so happy to return for the first time after a 10-year hiatus. I was excited to see that the menu had diversified quite a bit from my collegiate days. There were a variety of healthier and plant-based entrees as well as some of my old favorites. I ordered the Jalapeño Burger with a side of sweet potato fries. The burger came topped with melted cheddar cheese, grilled onions and, of course, jalapeños. The beef patty was sizable yet on the drier side without any notable flavor or seasoning. Unfortunately, the cheese, onions and jalapeños weren't enough to distract from how dry the burger was. The fluffy potato bun may have been my favorite part of the burger. I think the sandwich would have benefited from a spicy mayo or aioli. The sweet potato fries were unfortunately also underwhelming, lacking the signature sweet flavor profile that is common with these types of fries. A dusting of salt may have helped bring out the limited sweet notes. Despite the so-so food, the service was great. It was so nice to be back at my old stomping grounds, and I would certainly go back and explore more of the menu to see if I could find something I like.

Parking is usually bad here since it is so close to campus. I came around 4PM so it was not that bad this time around. They also have Happy Hour until 7PM on weekdays so you get about $1 off on drinks. I ordered the jalapeno burger, tots, Surfer on Acid, and Long Island. They asked how I wanted the burger cooked and still gave it to me Well Done. The jalapeno burger was simple and tasty. The tots had no seasoning but they were nice and crispy. The Surfer on Acid is Jager, Vodka, and Coconut Rum. It tastes very sweet. The Long Island was great.

I decided to give RP Tracks a try on New Year's Day. We were able to find parking across the street and were seated right away. The restaurant had additional seating in a separate area which appeared to be an open-air area on a beautiful day. I noticed there was also a separate room with a couple of pool tables. I decided to try the RP Steakhouse Style Burgers. We did not have to wait long for our meals. I thought that the Steakhouse Style Burgers were just okay. My husband ordered them as well and he felt the same. The issue was that they lacked flavor. However, our friends that we dined with were pleased with their selections (Meat Lover Burrito & French Toast). The service was great and our server was super friendly. Because of that alone, I would definitely return. However, next time I will try something different.

Absolutely love this spot ! Never knew it existed until tonight. They have $5 shots , pool, and good food! I had the jalapeño burger and it was amazing. All fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. The waitress was very sweet and provided excellent service. The environment gave me college vibes and of course it's in a college area. They have a pool table and smoking area. Will be back to play pool very soon.

One of my fave neighborhood spots! The food is super reasonably priced, cooked with love, with awesome servers! Brunch is excellent (tastes like home) and you can't go wrong with catfish Fridays! Dog friendly patio for the double win

My favorite brunch place in Memphis. When visiting it tops my must to visits. Not many pics as we were all starving and trying to survive a night before wedding. The food was gone before a pic. However I did get a pic of my spicy bloody- hair of the dog! The wait staff is always awesome and they have many vegetarian options.

Came in with a party of 10 for a friends birthday and the staff took great care of us. The food was really good and everyone enjoyed what they had. The restaurant also has a very chill and welcoming atmosphere. Would recommend!

My wife and I came to brunch at 11:30 AM on Sunday which is today. I had the BEST pancakes I've ever had in my entire life! Not even kidding. Brunch is amazing. Coffee was great also. First time here and we will be back. We sat at the bar and Amanda served us. You have to try this place!!!!

The crab claws were absolutely fire--perfectly seasoned, buttery, and cooked just right. Every bite was tender and packed with flavor, making them an unforgettable appetizer. The steak flatbread was equally delicious, layered with tender steak, fresh toppings, and perfectly melted cheese. The cocktails were expertly crafted and worth every sip. If you visit during Happy Hour (Monday-Friday, 3-6 p.m.), don't miss the discounted cocktails, featured wines, draft beers, and appetizer selections. Warm, buttery, rich with toasted pecans, and paired with creamy vanilla ice cream, every bite melted in your mouth. It's easily one of the best desserts in Memphis. Even better, this masterpiece is also served at CHAR's sister restaurant, Amerigo. From the exceptional food and handcrafted drinks to the polished service and elegant atmosphere, CHAR delivers a five-star dining experience from beginning to end. Highly recommended. Order the crab claws, enjoy Happy Hour, and whatever you do... don't leave without the Butter Pecan Cake.

The grits were hard, and the crabcake appetizer came out cold--though the sauce on top had great flavor. None of our food was served piping hot, which was disappointing. The crab claws were a highlight--buttery and well-seasoned. We did have to send our fries back for a fresh batch, and the shrimp and grits were just average. The best part of the meal was definitely dessert--the double brownie with pecan ice cream was delicious and saved the experience a bit. On a positive note, the service was good--Liz was great and very attentive--and the atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice. Overall: decent, but not a standout. 7/10

I'm happy to say the food quality, portion sizes, and customer service were just as amazing as we remembered. Everything was consistent, flavorful, and worth the return visit -- definitely another one for the books! What made the experience even more special was having the same two waitresses from last year, and they actually remembered us. That level of attentiveness and personal connection says a lot about the care they put into their customers and service. Keep up the amazing work! We will absolutely be back again. All the Perkins close to our route had lower ratings but we decided to risk it. Bad decision! We entered through a boarded up front door to a very full restaurant. We were seated in a corner where we weren't helped for quite awhile. Our waitress finally acknowledged us so we put our orders in right away. She seemed to be going through the motions and the service definitely was lacking. My go to at Perkins is the Chicken Tender Melt. They take tasty chicken strips and put them between grilled sourdough bread, and then layer it with pepper Jack cheese, bacon and tomatoes. In my opinion it's the perfect sandwich. This has always been one of my faves and it was good here too. They just didn't give us ranch that was supposed to accompany the dish. We didn't want to wait so we just ate our dryish sandwiches. Fries were room temp. My nephew and I still enjoyed the food. My son really liked his skillet as well. Because of the poor service and lack of of time, we decided to skip dessert which is good usually at other locations. We got our nostalgic meal, but overall this was a poor experience. I would drive way out of the way for the higher rated Perkins in Memphis next time.
