Enjoyed this place while visiting Memphis! Our group enjoyed a variety of food and all was delicious! The Jerk Quesadilla was fantastic! The Marvelous Chicken Sandwich was also delicious, especially the house scut, seasoned fries! We also had the Tofu Nachos which were superb as well! RP Tracks is a U of M area institution. We have been coming here for as long as I can remember. I was twelve when it opened so that makes sense. There have been tons of memory killing clouds made since then. I missed a good 15 year block where I stopped coming for no good reason but have been back with them fairly regularly for the past couple years. The place is divey and has a cool laid back bar vibe. I am old now so I haven't been here to drink at night in a while, so not sure if it's as cool as it used to be. Servers and bar staff are pretty eclectic, but are always really nice, very attentive, and fast. They have one of the best burgers around and I love the Patty Melt. French fries and fresh cut and really good. Chicken tenders and the Nachos are also faves. I messed up once and got the catfish special. Don't do it, not good bruh. They have an "animal friendly" menu and honestly have some of the best vegetarian options around if that is your jam. BBQ tofu may sound strange, but it's actually really good. RP Tracks was my go-to spot in college for food and drinks, so I was so happy to return for the first time after a 10-year hiatus. I was excited to see that the menu had diversified quite a bit from my collegiate days. There were a variety of healthier and plant-based entrees as well as some of my old favorites. I ordered the Jalapeño Burger with a side of sweet potato fries. The burger came topped with melted cheddar cheese, grilled onions and, of course, jalapeños. The beef patty was sizable yet on the drier side without any notable flavor or seasoning. Unfortunately, the cheese, onions and jalapeños weren't enough to distract from how dry the burger was. The fluffy potato bun may have been my favorite part of the burger. I think the sandwich would have benefited from a spicy mayo or aioli. The sweet potato fries were unfortunately also underwhelming, lacking the signature sweet flavor profile that is common with these types of fries. A dusting of salt may have helped bring out the limited sweet notes. Despite the so-so food, the service was great. It was so nice to be back at my old stomping grounds, and I would certainly go back and explore more of the menu to see if I could find something I like. read more

They also have Happy Hour until 7PM on weekdays so you get about $1 off on drinks. I ordered the jalapeno burger, tots, Surfer on Acid, and Long Island. They asked how I wanted the burger cooked and still gave it to me Well Done. The jalapeno burger was simple and tasty. The tots had no seasoning but they were nice and crispy. The Surfer on Acid is Jager, Vodka, and Coconut Rum. It tastes very sweet. The Long Island was great. read more

I decided to give RP Tracks a try on New Year's Day. We were able to find parking across the street and were seated right away. The restaurant had additional seating in a separate area which appeared to be an open-air area on a beautiful day. I noticed there was also a separate room with a couple of pool tables. I decided to try the RP Steakhouse Style Burgers. We did not have to wait long for our meals. I thought that the Steakhouse Style Burgers were just okay. My husband ordered them as well and he felt the same. The issue was that they lacked flavor. However, our friends that we dined with were pleased with their selections (Meat Lover Burrito & French Toast). The service was great and our server was super friendly. Because of that alone, I would definitely return. However, next time I will try something different. read more

In town for a conference and found this place across from the University of Memphis and is about 10 minutes drive away from downtown. Vegetarian son had a bbq tofu sandwich which was awesome. Comes with a side of slaw and choice of fries, tots, sweet potato fries or onion straws. YUM! The sandwich was great, bun fresh, onion straws so tasty. Non vegetarians had a hummus and chicken pita with sweet potato fries. All excellent. And husband had a club sandwich he liked. The biggest star other than the tofu sandwich was the spinach artichoke dip freshly made, huge portion, yummy fresh bread and chips to go with it. So good we're thinking of going back today. The waitress was awesome too! So attentive and sweet. She recommended pie but we just couldn't. She said they're made there and they run out sometimes. Anyway, awesome please for vegetarians and non. BBQ is a must in Memphis but the vegetarian bbq options are pretty slim, which is why I had to stop at RP Tracks to try the "world famous" bbq tofu. We got the bbq tofu nachos -- they were pretty good. I'm glad I split them with my husband because the portion was mighty. We also ordered the jalapeño poppers since RP Tracks is not a place you go to eat healthy so might as well commit. I wasn't proud, but if you're in the mood for bar food classics than this is the spot. It definitely seems like a place I might've enjoyed during my college years -- we could overhear a nearby table ordering shots named "Leg Spreader" and "Rooster Pooter." Now this is the crap I get for 11.25 for this tiny piece of tofu that cost less than $1. Also after asking to speak to management /owner I had the supposed owner, a very drunk women who the server got that had been sitting at the bar with her dog come to me to "talk about this mistake" and to just cuss me out and tell me get the fuck out of her bar because I showed her the tofu club they served Me in the picture above, plus it and the bread being burnt. What a shame, I have been going to this establishment for 15 years since high and college and it just has continued to go down hill. Whether it's the servers being drunk and high, or the food being over done, or now from tonight's experience, the owner being drunk and cussing you out, this place has gone completely down hill. Stop wasting your money here and let someone else take over this spot who doesn't want to rob us and treat their loyal consumers like the trash food they serve. read more

We are a couple of vegan tourists and got into town late and needed some food. RP Tracks was close and fit the bill. We got the buffalo tofu fingers for an appetizer. They're fried tofu sticks drowned in Frank's Red Hot. They come with ranch or bleu cheese sauce, neither of which is vegan, so they let us substitute their tasty vegan tomato dijon aioli. For entrees I got the vegetarian tofu club which is vegan as-is except for the honey wheat bread. It was great! The tofu was prepared well and it comes with that same tasty aioli. My partner ordered the BBQ tofu. It was good, but the cole slaw wasn't vegan and an alternative side wasn't offered. Both came with fries; I got steak fries and he got waffle fries. Both versions were delicious fried potato goodness. The service was good. Our server was really nice and gave us great advice on local bars. We did have to ask a lot of questions as the menu makes no effort to identify items as vegetarian or vegan, and in turn, our server had to ask the kitchen some questions. No big deal, but it could save everyone some time if the kitchen would provide that info up front so the menu could be labeled and the waitstaff informed. My biggest complaint was the amount of cigarette smoke drifting in from the jerks smoking RIGHT outside the front door. Not the the bar's fault at all, since they provide plenty of outdoor space for smokers to take themselves and their habit. Perhaps the bar could post a notice by the door to remind smokers that the entire outdoor area is their oyster; there's no need to huddle by the front door and make the front of the restaurant a "smoking section."
