I was invited to a live music set. Was told to get there early to ensure seating. Its security at the door checking purses and person's. And ID.. its a nice setup upon entering . Itssa hostess podium , a bar area and the restaurant/lounge area and a stage. Men have to be 35 yrs old and up to gain entry. I had a drink n appetizer , both were to my liking. And the live music was a great vibe.. read more

We came for the comedy show they host every first Sunday of the month. This Sunday's headliner was Earthquake, and he definitely did not disappoint! The biggest issue was the parking and entry process. It felt very unorganized. It didn't seem like the VIP parking signs were set up before the crowd started arriving, so people parked wherever they could, only to be told they had to move. Then, instead of letting everyone wait under the covered walkway, they kept directing people back into lines in the hot sun. Between the purse checks, security pat-downs, and confusion about where everyone was supposed to be, getting inside took longer than it should have. It honestly felt like the staff hadn't had a pre-event meeting and were trying to figure everything out as they went. They really need to improve that process because it put a damper on the start of the evening. Thankfully, once we made it inside, everything got much better. Our waitress, Indiana, was attentive and did a great job, especially considering how busy it was. We ordered our drinks, appetizers, and entrées all at once to stay ahead of the crowd, and the food came out fresh and delicious. I ordered the catfish plate with fries and collard greens, and everything was cooked perfectly. I also tried the cobbler egg rolls for the first time, and wow...they were absolutely amazing! They were so good I had two and had to stop myself from ordering more. I'll definitely be getting those again. Despite the rough start, the food and service made up for it. This place consistently delivers great food, and even with a packed house, the table service remained solid. If they can get the parking and entry process organized, the overall experience would be excellent. read more

Tried Salt today and ordered the Alfredo with chicken and shrimp. The Alfredo itself is around $18, with the chicken and shrimp costing extra. Unfortunately, it just wasn't for me. After about six bites, I couldn't keep eating because it was overwhelmingly salty. The salt completely overpowered any other flavors, making it hard to enjoy the dish. Ambiance - cute set up. Low lighting, calm vibes. Food looks pretty. read more

This is the place to come when you want a great meal, hookah, drinks and a good time with your girls, on a date or solo. The inside was set up nicely: booth options or table options. There is a stage up front for their live shows. Service was ok. My meal consisted of the salmon burger which was huge! So big I had to get a to-go plate. I also got the lamb chops with broccoli and macaroni and cheese. This was my first time having lamb chops better that Ruth Chris'. I will definitely be back read more

There are some important details guests should be aware of. The Lamb & Grits menu description states it includes eggs, but eggs were still charged separately on the bill. When we asked, our server explained the included eggs were powdered eggs, and she substituted shelled eggs without informing us, resulting in an additional charge. This distinction is not explained on the menu or by the server. There were also pricing inconsistencies on the online menu--two pancakes are listed as $8 on the menu but were charged as $10 on the receipt. The Shrimp & Grits entrée, priced at $22, arrived with only three shrimp, and we had to order additional shrimp. Portion-to-price ratio is something to consider. Most notable were the fees. Our subtotal was $98.79, but after the automatic 18% gratuity, a 3% credit card surcharge, and multiple taxes, the final total reached $134.34 for what was essentially two entrées, pancakes, and drinks on this receipt alone. That is $37.55 in additional fees, which is literally the cost of another entrée and a cocktail. Across the table, our total brunch experience was around $300. The automatic gratuity is understandable, but transparency and communication about substitutions, pricing, and added fees would significantly impact a guest decision to patronize. Brunch at Salt Memphis is always a vibe. This wasn't my first visit, and overall, the food quality continues to be solid with taste, the DJ keeps the energy right, and the drinks are well-crafted. The ambiance is enjoyable, though not quite at the level the pricing suggests. Our table of four ordered Salmon & Grits, two Lamb Chop & Grits, Shrimp & Grits, Pancakes, French Toast, and several cocktails. The flavors were good, and the lamb was cooked properly (I ordered medium-well), with creamy grits and good presentation. The drinks were also well balanced and worth mentioning. This was truly an amazing experience. They had great service really great drinks and they had live entertainment. It felt like a very upscale restaurant but still someplace you can just go to have a good dinner. I love the ambience. I love the crowd of people that were in there. The service was great and the service was fast. The food was hot the char grilled oysters. I think they have some type of Alfredo sauce on them. They were freaking delicious like 10 out of 1000 I would highly recommend this spot for people who are looking for a nice date night a girls night out or just wanting to go and enjoy a restaurant in your neighborhood. Will definitely be back checked out their IG . They have tons of events every Sunday every Friday every Saturday just check it out truly great establishment. read more

I came up for a short trip to Memphis and I told my friends I wanted to go somewhere that had good vibes and good food and they took me exactly there! We did wait a while in the beginning for drinks but besides that, everything was 10/10! read more

Initially, my mom and I ordered the chicken and shrimp pasta unbeknownst to us that it was very, very overly salty with the first bite. We couldn't eat the dish and it was rather expensive for something that we couldn't enjoy. I called management to express my concern. I was told that they would get back to me or someone would call me no later than Monday because it was over the weekend within an hour turnaround time someone called me and my order was replaced. I got into the restaurant and Gate Wood personally prepared my dish and brought it out with all the pleasantries This is the type of establishment that I would like to continue to support. I had a pretty good time here for a friend's birthday! I had been wanting to try this spot out. The spacing in here is accommodating. The night we went there was a live band and they were great. The DJ was also really good as well. We also had a little karaoke fun! One thing that stuck out to me is the healthy food options they offer. Many lounges don't offer that. I had grilled shrimp and asparagus. They were welled seasoned and filling. The bonus is my meal wasn't super expensive. For it to be really crowded, I must say the service was great and our server was really friendly. Cool vibe! read more

This establishment is really nice and the atmosphere is great. The bartender was amazing and held a conversation making the experience even better. The only reason I am giving four stars is because the food was not great. I has the buffalo chicken eggrolls and yeah it was not it. Flavor wasn't there and they were cold. The spinach dip was average as well. I'm going to visit again and eat something else because people always say their food was soooo good, so maybe I ordered the wrong thing. My drinks were very good and my check wasn't bad as well. It's definitely worth another try. read more

Number 1. Serving a $10 mimosa out of a PLASTIC champagne flute is wild! The lemon drop wasn't good either, but at least that had martini glasses The food comes out hot but it wasn't good! I ordered the salmon and grits, the salmon was over cooked and dry and the grits weren't well seasoned... They get 3 stars bc the service was good and the restaurant itself was a vibe for Saturday brunch, excellent music and it wasn't too loud! read more

Salt was a fun spot to go for brunch! I wish I was able to get a picture of the food, but it was too dark and the picture wouldn't have done it any service. The salmon and grits was on tasty and delectable. The grits were made with a Gouda cheese that had me salivating for every bite. The salmon was cooked to perfection and melted real nicely into the grits. The hookah experience was so much fun and chill for the company I wish with. We've visited two Sundays back to back for brunch. 9/10/23: we had an amazing time, drinks were 10/10, food was perfectly prepared, dj had the tunes spinning and the vibes were present. Since a few siblings weren't able to come we decided to visit again the next week. Food: red velvet waffle and chicken, and watermelon lemon drop. When I say the bartending is on POINT, I mean that. 9/17/23: Started off great until food arrives. I ordered the cherry lemon drop which tasted like lemon. I was told someone might have used to much of the lemon lime mixer. I decided to go with the peach lemon drop the next round and that was much better. The star of the show was the catfish and grits. 10/10 everything was perfection. Unfortunately can't say the same for others in my party. Several found hair in their dishes. I will say management was professional about visiting the table to explore the issue and offer options. As someone who loves to patronize BOB, I was truly happy to see this occur and not the blame game. read more

My first time at Salt was great, in the midst of what turned out to be a fearful night for Memphians, but the staff and security helped us feel secure and took care of our needs. Ashley at the bar was great on the strawberry lemon drop recommendation that was yummy and our server was super fun and helpful! Jerome Chism performed and he was pretty awesome, the place wasn't packed which was great, cool adult environment on a Wednesday night! I must return! Oh yeah the well known Memphis Cheesecake man truck was in the house and definitely brought some joy to the table, unexpected but a true treat read more

Pros: 1. SALT is a great reuse of the space. The building had always been some type of restaurant space/bar. So, this is a good revival. 2. The food came out hot, which is BIG to me! It was good too! 3. I ordered the salmon plate. The salmon was cooked to perfection. No complaints here. 4. The staff was also nice. 5. A woman in our party really enjoyed her drink. She ordered another one while we were sitting. Cons: 1. The service was slow. We sat at the bar area at a high top table. But, everything took so long, and our waitress didn't (or wasn't able to) check on us often. 2. Though the broccoli, seasonal veggies, and yellow rice were good, these sides were bit heavy on the seasoning. We have to be careful with that, especially in our African American community, for the health of our people. 3. The Karoake was loud and overwhelming, and I wasn't even in the main section. I was sitting in the bar area. 3. Allowing people and the bartenders to twerk brings down the caliber of the restaurant. It was paradoxical to have a dress code, but a bartender was twerking on the floor. And, guests were twerking on the stools. If it's a club, then I can't really have any qualms. But, for a restaurant and lounge, there should be some more maturity and decorum. read more

Awesome service and food n drinks I recommend the brunch. Red velvet waffle. Also the f me down! Your welcome

They mean well, but I came in with a party and we just happened to not all be here at the same time. Well, because of that, I got penalized. They would not serve me. When I moved to another table with my family (family reunion) they still did not serve me because they had already taken orders from the other three people at the table. So what must a girl do to get service in here? I had to order my drink from the bar and still was ignored at the table. I guess I'll go to Sonic for some food. The music was great, however and the drink that I received from the bar was on point that's why I gave it a 3. read more

The security team was the best. The guy checking IDs was very pleasant and kind. My brother had on a hat but he was very nice about letting him know they weren't allowed. The lady who pat the women down and checked purses was equally friendly. Although my sister had on sneakers she suggested getting some sandals quickly in order to come in. The hostess who sat us had a gentle smile. Also the manager. Beautiful with an even prettier spirit. She made special accommodations for our Party of 5. Drinks were decent no complaints. Only issue was the server was slow. I think it was due to lack of servers. She was extremely nice, but I asked three times before I got napkins. Everyone enjoyed their meals without issue. They lost my ticket but quickly made my food and it came out hot. Live music and DJ. Both awesome. I'll be back for sure. Did I mention bc it was raining the security guy who was checking IDs used his umbrella to help us to the car?!?! Again, I'll definitely be back. The vibe was everything. read more

I'm going to go out on a limb and give this place 5 stars. It is definitely a vibe for young and old. Let's start with the good stuff. The drinks at the bar are skrong! I was paralyzed from neck down for a few minutes. Fun times! I had the shrimp and grits. The grits were runny and the portion was small however the flavor was good. I added to sunny side up eggs because I'm an egg-slut. The crowd was into the music. The DJ was great and engaging with the crowd. The staff was attentive and dressed for the festivities. Only disappointment was the time limit which wasn't too bad. Overall, great experience and I will be back! read more

Well yesterday (Sunday) was a disaster at SALT!!! Got on the waitlist for 8 ppl and 2 of us ladies asked to go to the bathroom and we we'e allowed to go, but when 1 of the men asked to go to the bathroom he was told no. I went to the door to ask if he could go to the bathroom because I thought maybe he would let him go since he let us go. He said it was a NO for him until we were seated! He was a rude and cocky person that was representing this establishment. It's a sad day when you're about to spend hundreds of dollars and treated this way, so we left! They wouldn't even let us ladies stand inside the door out of the sweltering heat because they said it was a fire hazard if we were standing on the inside of the door. It's so sad that people are treated this way, but we refused to be treated like this! If you go to SALT you're taking your chances! GOOD LUCK!!! read more

This was my very 1st visit and I had a wonderful experience. The customer service was friendly and professional. Food was great! I ordered the steak and eggs. The ambience was wonderful, such a fun brunch experience! Had the pleasure of meeting the owner while dining, he was very professional and kind. Yesterday was my second time going to this establishment and both times I was unimpressed by the lack of customer service. The first time was on my birthday and asked for medium cook Lamb Chops. My food came back well done and when I approached the waitresses regarding the meal she quickly caught and attitude and was very rude. The second time was yesterday. The service was worse! All our food was over seasoned (SALTy), and the waitress Jasmine was VERY RUDE was not attentive to her guests. We had to waive her down throughout our dinner, and her body language gave off a DONT CARE ATTITUDE. This customer experience was no where near enjoyable for me and my friend and we will not be back. read more

I went to SeaSalt Memphis on Saturday September 24Th. While entering I met the first security guard who checked my ID then patted me down and as I was standing there waiting while he patted my other friends down the security guard at the door yelled "No hoodies Mane" but the first security guard said nothing about what I had on. There was a dress code policy on the outside(that said no athletic gear) BUT no hoodie was NOT one of the items on the policy. So while I'm standing there waiting to get a call back from a friend to confirm if this is accurate, the security guard proceeds to talk about me to one of the customers coming into the establishment.I said to him you're not going to talk about me that's very disrespectful. After my friend Angie who was there to Sing pull up she said friend please go change so you can come back to hear me sing. I then went to my hotel to change because I was there to hear my friend Angie sing and we already had friends inside waiting on us. I then came back THEN they would not let me in until the Manager came out(in flip flops which are against the dress code policy) and she proceeded to wave her hands while talking to me telling me l've created a hostile environment because | made a social media post and said I was going to do a live Video the next day on how I was treated. We talk then she allows me to enter as I enter | see everything the dress code policy says you can't have on like Tennis shoes, plain T shirts shirts, sandals(which the manager had on) on their social media they have videos of their Saturday night live with individuals in there with sandals, ball caps, and tennis shoes on. So Sea Salt Memphis if you're going to set a dress code policy you need to be consistent with it across the board to everyone. Sounds a bit Discriminatory to me. I attached a picture of what I had on that night. read more

Late posting, but back in February of this year, I went to celebrate a friend's birthday. Paid a cover charge only to be told that our table had to get up because there was another group of people waiting. The waitress was nasty when telling us this information. Her only suggestion was to find somewhere to sit at the bar or leave. I said right then and there "Never again." They have the potential to be a nice lounge. The aesthetics are really nice, but poor customer service, dollar tree flutes that breaks mid sipping on beverage, subpar food, (who puts baby drummies on an Eggo waffle and title the dish "Chicken & Waffles?) and then only having an hour at the table is a joke. I don't see this place being open much longer, especially if they cannot handle constructive criticism. And that's sad because it has so much potential to be a great spot. read more

I tried this establishment for the 2nd time, because my 1st time wasn't the best experience. I will say it was my last time patronizing. We ordered a hookah and was quoted $45. When the hookah arrived we were told the price went up to $58 gratuity included and you have to pay right now. Our waiter never advised separate payment for drinks and hookah, or gave us the option to say we wanted it at a higher cost. It's very pricey for the bare minimum of service, & the food wasn't great. read more

The food was amazing. The serving sizes are huge. Great music and crowd. The only draw back is the time limit at your table,

Good morning America my sister Nichelle Rivers came to Memphis TN from New York to hang out with her twin brother who is deploying on April 11. Me and my brother said lets go to salt bar an bistro we heard it was a nice spot on Thursday night. It is a 10 dollar cover charge to get in on karaoke night. , OK, also the table limit is one hour and 30 mins. WE HAD ONLY BEEN AT THE TABLE 1HOUR AND 15 MINS. My sister told the waitress that the beer was HOT the waitress said that's all we have. So Me and my sister was sitting at the table when the waitress brought the ticket to the table and said we had to get up and pay our check. So we said get the manager Aaron he told to us to pay our check. No one Knows that its a 2 hour seating time limit when you spending MONEY!!!!!! DON'T GO HERE!!!! read more

This was my very first visit here and I must say I am thoroughly pleased with my experience. I attended brunch on a Sunday around noonish with a group of 5 friends and we were luck enough to have been able to get seated right away(we came right before the crowd madness) .The host/hostess was very welcoming and very attentive to details. Even security was really nice. Our waiter name was Marcus and he was amazing from start to finish. We didn't have to wait too long to order our food and we were given sufficient time to make our selections. Marcus was very generous and greeted us with a big smile. He kept our cups full and serviced all of our needs. He even made a few jokes to keep the mood lively. The DJ kept us lit and kept all the vibes the entire time. I ordered the chicken and red velvet waffle. It was fluffy and delicious. The waffle was cooked to perfection drizzled with a sweet icing sauce that added the right touch of sweetness so much so that i didn't use any syrup.!!! OMG I can taste it as I'm typing this review!!! ABSOLUTELY EXQUISITE!!! I also ordered the lamb chops and grits Togo !! The dish is definitely for someone who has diverse palette... It was so tender and well seasoned. The grits had great flavor. They complimented each other well. The prices were moderate and they do include gratuity in your tab. The tab was a bit steep but we did get a pretty nice dining experience. All in all I had an amazing experience and would definitely go back when ever I'm back in the city!!! read more
