    Slice | Cheese Pizza
    Candi R.

Stopped here after getting facials with the kids. They weren't hungry, so that left me scrambling to find something to eat for myself. Saw Wise Guy Pizzas and headed in for a slice. The restaurant wasn't too crowded and had lots of space to sit inside and outside to enjoy the pizza. At the counter, was able to peruse the different varieties of pizzas available. Ordered a regular cheese slice. The wait for my slice was not long. It was piping hot and cheesy just like I like it. Not too much grease noted. The slice was large enough to satisfy my hunger for the time being. Will definitely return when we're in the area

It's 1 AM on a Friday night and this place gives me life. The slice was perfectly crisp on the edges, chewy in the middle, and just greasy enough to feel right. The sauce had that perfect tang, the cheese pulled like it should, and the crust actually had flavor. My only mistake was not getting two slices. Late-night perfection.

Visiting from Canada, cute spot, patio is full inside seating is empty. Staff were really nice and helpful when asked questions. The pizza selection is good they had quite a few options. The pizza tastes really gooddd the thing crust was super good ! Slices are a good size

Absolutely love this place. Never thought I'd find somewhere local to replace Andy's but honestly, this is even better. I've shown this place to over 6 other New Yorkers as well and they all agree they've had worse pizza in NY and all liked it a good deal. This is the real deal if you want an NY slice. Also, they make my favorite veggie slice I've ever had anywhere. They add hot peppers to it which is a nice touch. I've also had the vegan supreme a couple times and that's also bomb. This is also a great location to sit outside of on a nice day. Especially being in the little plaza with trees and the fountain going. The inside is more like a standard NY pizza shop though. When getting slices you're served pretty fast too, usually get your slices within 30 seconds of finishing paying. Garlic knots also worth it (they're huge though so don't be fooled by getting "only" 3). Been here a bunch already and will be back a bunch more!

I've been a frequent patron of this location in the past year without any issue. However, today was a different story. I ordered the pepperoni and IL Capo slice to go. I ate the pepperoni slice with no issue, but when I go to the IL capo slice, as I'm literally taking a bite, I notice a spider on the pizza. I assume it must have gotten inside the box so I used my napkins to pick it off. To my surprise, it was dead and cooked into the pizza. I'm not sure how a spider makes it all the way into your oven, cooked, and then presented to a paying PREGNANT patron. I've called and left a voicemail, no response.

Location: great! Situated by an ice rink in Navy Yard. Shares its location with a gelato shop. Inside has few sets in the front, and additional seating in the back Service was quick and painless. The workers were friendly. We came on a Thursday night. We were looking for the vegan options, but they only had a couple old-looking slices left of one of the options. So it might be best to come earlier, or call-ahead to verify before choosing an alternate location. We tried a few different slices. Backyard 9/10, Buffalo Chicken 9/10, Mushroom Truffle 7.5/10. And the Spicy Roni was a 3/10. The crust was sooooo hard. On top of that, the Spicy Roni is a smaller slice, but still the same $5 price as the larger slices. It was sooo hard to bite into. I get it was reheated, but there's no way the dough was meant to be that crispy. Or was it? I actually cut my gums on it (wish i was joking). Overall, as a NY'er, i would definitely come back and recommend as they have lots of options.

It has been a while since I last had Wiseguy, and recently, for a get-together, we ordered a good variety: +Margherita - prepared with tomato sauce, fresh mozz, fresh basil, parmigiano, and EVOO +Backyard - prepared with tomato sauce, green peppers, red onions, mushrooms, kalamata olives, chili peppers, and mozzaarella +Supreme - prepared with tomato sauce, pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, mushrooms, red onions, and mozzarella +Il Capo - prepared with tomato sauce, pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon, and mozzarella +a Mediterranean salad - with cucumbers, olives, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, green peppers, red onions, and lettuce +House Caesar and House Balsamic dressings +Chocolate Cookies - that are freshly baked on a daily basis I was a fan of the Backyard, as this was a spicy version of a vegetarian - I did like the fact that the crust was thinner and the toppings were generous. The sizes of the pies were really large, so each slice could technically amount to 2 slices. Salads were really fresh, and I really liked the thick and creamy House Caesar dressing. The chocolate cookies were soft and the chips were still nice and gooey! +Backyard pizza +Mediterranean salad +House Caesar +generous portions

I built my own pizza with pepperoni, sausage & basil. The pizza was good and the sausage had the perfect amount of spice and heat but the slices are too big and floppy for my desired perfect pizza.

It's a basement bar with a bit of a dive vibe, but it's hard to ignore the nautical, blue crab theme throughout. Turns out that one of the owners is a Marylander, which is cool to see reflected in the decor in a place in dc, even though it is next door. They have a happy hour and they have a great variety of drinks in general. It's bring-your-own-food (BYOF) and there are a bunch of delicious looking Asian spots nearby, including upstairs. It didn't start getting crowded until closer to 10, which, as I said, is surprising for this part of town to me. Everywhere in Chinatown is not going to be packed and busy, and this place is here to remind you of that. Stop by if you're looking for a more chill vibe. Staff are pretty cool.

Chowder came out pretty much right on top of my salad, but no big deal. Chowder was decent taste, but only found one clam. Ok whatever. My date found this gem on TikTok and it became the second stop on my birthday celebration. We left Daru and a short drive later we were on the hunt. Hidden in an alley behind Henceforth we stopped to ask someone working at a nearby spot for directions. We found the alley, spotted the blue light, and rang the bell. The door opened and we were whisked inside. Up the stairs a hallway lined with smaller parlor style rooms set the tone before we even reached the bar. Velvet fabric draped the ceiling over a grand bar decked out with bottles and dim lighting. Bar seating up front and high top tables arranged along the wall. We had not even ordered yet and the atmosphere had already delivered. To our surprise our escort to our seats was also one of the bartenders. Around 10pm there was only one other gentleman at the bar. No drink menu so we went with a staple old fashioned. Watching the bartender chisel ice and lower it into the glass with with a bar spoon was a talent worth watching. It was so memorable it made me want to chisel ice myself. The old fashioned was great. The no photography rule was listed and we followed it without question. No one around us had their phones out taking pictures and my date and I were not about to be the ones to break the code. A party of women came in looking incredible, clearly there to celebrate something special. Black girl magic was fully in the building!! The couple seated at the high top to our right came in after us and we quickly became their guides. They lucked up on this place as first timers just like us and we balanced the experience together comparing drinks and sharing what we had learned. That kind of spontaneous connection is always the best part of a new space. And that is the honest note worth sharing. The bartender was clearly more in tune with the creation of drinks than creating an experience for guests. For a new visitor on a birthday celebration that gap was felt. We never even got to share what we were celebrating. It may have been an off night, but we can see how given the right inviting bartender those in the space would engage more, which feels like exactly the vibe they are going for. For a cocktail experience that elevates the night or a chance to extend it somewhere unexpected this place delivers. We would certainly go back with a group and a more inviting bartender to show us the ropes. Next time we may start at the Henceforth before coming over. The Unforgiving Minute is a gathering place worth coming back to.
