Holy pizza. My husband and I found our way here after a couple of cocktails on Friday night. I was surprised by the price at first, and then I saw the size of the slices and tasted my pizza. My husband got the meat lovers and I got the supreme. It was hot, fresh, and not greasy. The crust was seasoned, too. Honestly, it was a dream and I'd eat this pizza any time of day, any day of the week. I was so bummed that I didn't have the stomach capacity to finish it. I took off one star for the state of the bathroom. No toilet paper and no soap, from what I recall. They clearly don't want or expect people to use their restroom. If you can stand the bleak (and on warmer days scorching) interior then you'll be in for a rare treat. you can get a supreme pizza (or most of the fully loaded pizzas) for $11, freshly baked in 5 minutes. I was just happy for that amount of food and fresh toppings, but what really blew me away is the light crisp on the wonderfully thin and soft bottom crust that you usually only get from the most well trained chefs at high end pizza spots. The ingredients in our pizzas tasted fresh, it's either the boxes are smaller than there jumbo slice competitors or their pizzas are really larger. Either way I'm here for it. Now as in my early twenties jumbo slice has always been a stan after a night out in AdMo. It's exactly what was expected. Cheese slice was as close as you'd expect, while the mozz sticks were mid-tier frozen tier fare that still soothed the hungover soul. Just sad because their Hawaiian slice description is meme-worthy (yes I'm team pineapple) but it was god awful. It looks nothing like the cheese slice or any of the other pies we saw in store. Somehow ate like it was cooked and undercooked at the same time. Stick to the cheese or maybe the pepperoni. This place is a scam. Ordered 2 "large" pies of pizza, what we got were teeny tiny baby pies that I at first thought was a joke before realizing it's a scam. So far, this place has been good and ok, which is what I'm leaving my rating for now. The three times that I've come here have been late at night when I'm in the mood for some good pizza. Twice I've had pizza that was previously warmed and then served and the other time my pizza was piping hot with deliciousness! I usually get the pepperoni and just dive right in when I receive my box. The manager (I think) says that its the original Jumbo Slice and that its been at the location since the early 2000s. The pizza slices are GINORMOUS! If you are lactose intolerant, you may want to steer clear of this establishment because its a big hefty amount you'll be consuming lol. You can definitely eat this pizza in multiple servings, and I can only imagine how many calories is has. They do have other options if you're not able to eat the pizza. There is no "we" in Pizza. Every pizza is a personal pizza if you try hard enough. You may have many choices for a jumbo slice at 2 am (most are open til 3), Pizza Mart jumbo slice is my favorite. Jumbo slices are large and cheesy. There is garlic, cheese, oregano and pepper flakes. This is often my post ER wind down spot, decompressing after a shift amongst the post bar crowd There is more of a menu (fried cheese, fries and other stuff) I don't think I've seen anyone get anything except pizza from the pizza mart. Not sure why they chose to have a bathroom paper dispenser to provide napkins in the dining area of a restaurant, but at least there are napkins. This is a nice and no frills pizza place to get a great, big, and quick slice of pizza into the late night! This establishment is very simple, but very good. The individual who served me when I came was very nice, too. Since there were no plastic knives left, she came to me with her pizza cutter and cut the pizza in half for me! The only downside was that there was no recycling bin that I could see, as of this writing, and a lot of the things could be recycled like the pizza boxes and soda cans. Don't judge a book by its cover. Walking past this place next to the fancy hipster new gen. eateries this one doesn't look like much but there is delicious and super jumbo pizza inside. Been to a lot of random pizza places - originally familiar and my fav. with Lorenzo's pizza in south Philly - this one's got to beat it though and the owner of 26 years definitely has got his pizza making down. Like the toppings to dough ratio held up really well, pizza fold after pizza fold. My mind (and belly) is still trying to comprehend the pizza size and price. Both Jumbo Slice were $10. After pacing through Adams Morgan between 5 locations claiming to have "The Original Jumbo Slice" and &Pizza (more like flatbread) I took it upon myself to perform a Google search looking for the Real Original. Upon verification: Pizza Mart, came out to be the inventor of the Jumbo Slice. Fast forward to ordering my slice - I made a great decision! The slice was fresh, sauce has amazing flavor to it, and crust had just enough crispyness to it. During my meal I was reading through non yelp reviews many interestingly claiming that it is a "late night" or "drunk pizza." I was a big fan of just about everything about this place! It's late hours are convenient for when I'm still awake and hungry, and the taste isn't sacrificed for it. Was very hungry and waiting for my pizza down stairs, ordered half Hawaiian half pepperoni, a calzone and carrot cake. The pizza arrived early which was a huge positive, and it was cold. There was no warmth coming from this pizza, it was probably good when it was warm but it was not transported in a warm environment and somehow both the calzone and pepperoni pizza reminded me that I should've just brought a frozen Digornois instead and heated it up in my oven. The carrot cake wasnt delivered and a piece of cheese cake was delivered instead. Normally when I'm hungry I'd not be bothered by anything, but this entire experience was just disappointing. When we were called up to pick up our slices, I was actually pretty surprised that this ONE slice easily took up TWO plates! It was literally bigger than my face... CHALLENGE ACCEPTED. There's a couple of stools around inside for you to sit and enjoy your oversized pizza slice, but I can only imagine what the inside would look like if the place were packed. After a roller coaster night of ups and downs around Adams Morgan (and no prospects of any good lovin'), I turned to my trusted standby: food [after reading that back -- wow -- that's really sad. There are a few late night choices on this stretch o' road, but after seeing a drunk (what do you call Trixies in DC?) fall to the ground with the weight of her pizza (or, well, because she was incredibly drunk), I knew what choice I had to make. That being said though, if you're indecisive about which to try, or you simply want the best while you're touring this famous section of the city, then you've got to go to Pizza Mart. Pizza Mart has the more flavorful pizza, while also boasting more toppings options than its competitor. Either way, my friends and I don't frequent the Adams Morgan area too often because it's heavily crowded and tough to find parking...but when we do go partying there, it's only because we know we're going to eat delicious oversized slices of pizza afterwards at Pizza Mart. Its no Duccini's but I guess if you're drunk, you will come here to eat it. Felt like my dough wasn't fully cooked, or the cheese was basically left out as a made-to-order pizza. Pepperoni wasn't that flavorful, or not as crispy as I liked. The slice was pretty big though and it is about like $6 a slice which isnt bad at all. Pizza was put on 2 paper plates and a piece of foil....the slice could have fallen! Staff members were pretty cool though, but the food can be better.
