Adorable packaging and it made it back 30 minutes home and was warm enough to serve!

We drove from NW all the way to Capitol Hill because I needed deep dish pizza- haven't had it in over a decade (and no I'm not pregnant lol). We ordered a large with some veggies and a personal with the meatballs, Kalamata olives and mushrooms and BABY!!! The personal pizza was mine and it took me 4 servings to finish it! This thing is SERIOUS, the large fed my family of 6 with 2 servings for my husband for lunch and we also ordered garlic knots and wings. The wings were the only meh of the experience. They were under seasoned, weren't cleaned well, and were definitely fried HARD (DRY). My son complained as he devoured them though and the sauce was good. Overall 3.5/5 for two reasons: 1) the price is very very high- $80+ for one large pizza, one pan pizza, one order of garlic knots and EIGHT wings!!! And 2) there is NO parking. Yes it's Capitol Hill and I get it but it was a little frustrating even though we were able to find a spot to pick up from. The owner was really nice and regaled my husband with the differences between Chicago and Detroit pizza lol. Also, for us it's on the opposite side of DC and it should be a once in a blue moon treat but to me, they do Chicago pizza a credit and I was not disappointed.

Really cute corner shop serving great pizza in any style you could imagine (NY, Detroit, Chicago)! Overall the pizza had a nice undercarriage and good sauce to cheese ratio. Ample amount of seating inside with a few smaller tables outside. Friendly staff and quick service!

    Trash. Again.

My household has had mixed reviews of the food when we've ordered (sometimes very good, sometimes very bad). But I saw rats near their trash, which we haven't otherwise seen in years on the block. They've really gotten sloppy on dumping food waste on the sidewalk and not having sufficient sanitation services. If this is what they have in the front in their business for everyone to see, imagine what is going on behind closed kitchen doors. One curiosity. They consistently throw disposable rubber gloves next to their trash bins nearly every day. See them in the attached photo. They must take the trash out while wearing rubber gloves, take the gloves off, and then throw them right on the ground? Right there, on a public sidewalk right in front of their own place of business. Kinda bizarre behavior.

Waited 15 for one slice of pizza. Terrible

Waited 15 min for one slice of pizza. Isn't the whole point when ordering a slice for it to be quick because they are reheating a slice? Terrible wish I never paid & waited for a slice that took forever.

Best pizza in the DMV. Everything is artisan and authentic. The Chicago deep dish and wings are my favorite. follow my instagram for more reviews: @daithefoodie

I'm pretty conflicted with this place because other reviews are both good and bad. First off, the pizza. We got the Chicago pizza, and while it tasted great and the quality of ingredients was perfect, it was at the same time disgusting. It's a 3lb pizza, but 2.5lbs are cheese. An ungodly amount of cheese. All you could taste was cheese. I can't speak for other style pizzas, but Jesus, I might have an artery blockage after that. The service was decently fast. The gentleman at the counter was super nice and gave the full run down of the menu and ordering process. It's definitely on the expensive side. Toppings are $2 each and you barely get anything. I guess quality makes up for it? The atmosphere is cozy and cute. It's clean and updated. A nice ambiance when it's not overly crowded. I'd try other pizzas just won't ever be getting the chicago style again.

My first time and I was blown away. I'm a huge fan of authentic pizza and have searched far and wide around the DMV. I have to say Della Barba fit the bill! Nestled in a serene section of Capital Hill its a great spot to check out on a pleasant weather day. I ordered both the NY Style plain cheese and the Nonna (a sort of Neopolitan thicker slice) pizzas. Both were excellent, starting with the perfectly crisp and chewy crusts. I literally felt like I was in NY. Kudos to the chef. Finished off with n awesome toll house chocolate chip cookie and warm apple strudel with vanilla ice cream. that's a wrap! pizza craving satisfied. They also offer the Detroit and Chicago styles which I plan to return for. The staff and owner were very kind and made sure our experience was one to remember. One note: there's not a huge dining area but don't let that deter you or you'd be missing out. I highly recommend Della Barba!

Have had takeout pizza here several times since they opened, but I would probably order more often if the price wasn't so steep. The lack of quantity is made up for with the great taste of the ingredients, the quality of their dough, and the order always being ready at the time stated. A nice plus is having more than one of pizza style to choose from, so definitely try a couple of different crust options if you decide to order more than one pizza.

I reviewed this spot way back when I first started my foodie journey!! They were in a ghost kitchen then, and they have a brick & mortar. I had a whole experience in there...LET'S GO!! . Neighborhood pizza shop convenient to Lincoln Park. This place is pretty cute and offers a ton of different pizza varieties- from NY style to Chicago and Detroit. Everything I have had there was delicious but I do wish that they offered pizza other than the "grandma style" by the slice, had your hometown Italian restaurant salad, and served alcohol. We generally take out, but you can also dine in.

Ive been looking for a place that sells Chicago style deep dish pizza in the dc area and this place came up. First time eating their deep dish pizza and damn it was really good. Would highly recommend the place if you want to eat deep dish pizza. You can order online for pickup or sit down but I did a pickup order. Owner was really cool. Pickup said it would take about 30 mins, got there in 30 mins and it was ready. Great spot!

Paccis looks like a small family owned Jersey Italian spot tucked inside a classic Capitol Hill brick home so of course you gotta try it. You and your girlfriend sit down and immediately the couple in the corner seated next to you pipes up about good timing because you just missed the sunset glaring through the window. This fella keeps flapping his jaw the whole time. Even to the elderly couple cross the room. Ok so maybe I was part of the problem but whatever. Anyway it feels like home. They eat there all the time, so that's a good sign. Good people. Which is good because the food is good too and You don't want bad ambiance to detract from a great meal. Oh and did I mention the couple who sat next to us after that were speaking Italian and sharing pizza and pasta? Paccis is certified FOOD: So oh yeah they serve food here too right. Let's talk about it. Me and the girlfriend love to share everything because why come to a delicious restaurant and only try one dish? Fuggedaboutit! We're sampling over here. She starts with a Hugo spritz that apparently is a "girliepop fave" which I might deserve jail time for typing those words but whatever sue me she liked the drink ok? Antipasti: We tried the eggplant fritti which was delicious. Also shared the beet salad. Also delicious. But I will say that we eat a lot of arugula salads and dry arugula even with all the toppings can be a little rough and I'd love if it was lubed up with a tiny bit of olive oil. Anyway don't hesitate to try either of these. Entrees: Buccatini alla carbonara was awesome. Creamy/cheesy, nice bite through the pasta, and that cured meat or whatever it was. We also had the chicken Marsala which was delicious but if you don't already know, don't ask how it's made so delicious because it's basically all butter and cream. Anyway pasta and sauce and chicken we're all delicious. Desert: Especially in an Italian restaurant this is almost always an automatic tiramisu for me but this time we decided to go with something different. The girlfriend loves a lemony dessert so we tried the limoncello cake. She loved it and I liked it. I would say get it if you're a lemon fan. And bada boom bada bing that's your review. Highly recommend!

That month I had started Uber driving, was in this area of DC, had heard good things about Wiseguy, and decided to eat here. Although I don't like paying to park just to simply eat a meal, I sometimes will make an exception for convenience and/or if it's a place I really want to go. But for the most part, I'll go to restaurant where they have free parking or at least I can find free parking near the restaurant. I remembered getting a parking spot very close and feel like I feed the meter like 50 cents in 2014 parking prices for a quick 30 minute meal. They have all kinds of varieties of slices from the standard toppings or just cheese to fancy ones. Although the pizza is fairly thin, but average for New York style pizza. I tried Andy's Pizza 11 years later in 2025, and while it was solid although not as good as Wiseguy, my real complaint with Andy's was that the pizza is very thin, where I was hungry very soon later; so a much worse value as pricing is comparable to Wiseguy. Wiseguy slices are big, and the pizza is top notch New York style. I went to this location a couple of more times after my initial August 2014 visit as I loved the pizza. Then, they opened up other locations. I went to Navy Yard one at least twice, once after a Nationals baseball game after a disappointing loss for my 4th favorite baseball team, Texas Rangers. Sorry Nats fans, but Nats are in my bottom 10 teams. I also went to Rosslyn & Pentagon City location, where parking isn't quite as bad. They even had a Wheaton Mall food court location, which I got to experience once, but they sadly closed. Every experience with Wiseguy has been positive.

It's worth the compromise- trust me! Both were delicious but I'll skip the detroit crust next time, and there will be a next time. For me the detroit crust was a bit spongy and had a slight yeast taste. Not enough to ruin the experience but enough for me to choose a different crust next time. By the time the pizza pie is depleted from the display case, the hidden pizza gets cold as it's finally moved up. The cycle repeats itself...so you can never get a hot fresh slice of pizza. The Garlic Knots were hands-down the best part of my oil! I wish I could order a single knot as I didn't really want 3 knots.
