    Georgetown

This place is so good! The owners are married and have a sweet story. This was a creative menu and I got the Georgetown! It was so good!! 10/10! Perfect crust (not too mushy and not too burnt or firm) plus a cheese pull!

Now that is deep dish!!! lol That pie weighed more than my toddler! When I tell you a singleton can spend 3 days MNM getting full off one pie!! Baybee! We could have split one and still had left overs. Packed with Fresh ingredients & has a good crust. My only con was that the sauce made the bottom very wet and not so sturdy but not sure that can be avoided without compromising the packed hearty goodness of the filler. I also like my sauce a tad sweet but that's easy to adjust on my personal slice so others in the fam can also adjust or keep as they like. Definitely coming back to try the DC pie. Thank you for being on door dash so we can try it out in the burbs! Good eats. Check them out and bring your knife and fork...

Customer service from the owner and his son was amazing and pizza is great! The crust is AMAZING

    Salmon Pesto Perfection!!!!

Hands down, its the best gourmet pizza in the region. DC ChI Pie would be my life time entry into any Best of the Best Pizza Challenge in any city for that matter. Each pie is created as if food cost was of no concern...inducing that homemade over the top indulgence! I'm Vegan.... But I'm defeated and make exception for this experience.

Native Chicagoan here. Born 'n raised. This stuff is real deal and as good as anything I've had back home. I was a bit circumspect initially because the owner, Mr Grant Thompson, is a native Washingtonian. A Washingtonian??? Luckily I was comfortable enough with the reviews to give it a shot, especially given there's a scarcity of authentic deep dish choices around town. By scarcity, I mean none. Mr Thompson said he visited Chicago years ago and loved the pizza so much It became a passion for him. Hell, I can appreciate that! And like they say,"it ain't where you're from it's where you at." He had a commercial space which was sold and he's in the midst of acquiring a new one in downtown DC near the Convention Center, but in the meantime he's operating out of his home. I wasn't prepared to see a residential property when I pulled up but his signage is outside and he met me at the door with an apron and a smile. We talked food, his perspective and his passion for his craft for a while before I went outside to wait in my vehicle for the pizza. Takes about 35-45 minutes to prepare. I got a sausage and pepperoni and I also tried one that Mr Thompson invented himself, he said - pesto and salmon. The pesto substitutes for regular tomato sauce. I spent $63 for two of these pizzas. If you know deep dish you only need one slice and you're full. The "personal" size easily feeds three people. Possibly a fourth. The crust on these beauties is buttery and flaky just like back home. The toppings are flavorful and abundant and the boxes are heavy as heck when loaded. His son forgot to put my peppers and onions on my sausage pizza but after biting it I didn't even mind, especially since he put them in a plastic container on the side. I'll definitely be returning to visit although it'll probably be when he's In his new space downtown. He said he's going to try his hand at some authentic Chicago sandwiches too, like the world famous Italian Beef - which I shall most assuredly look forward to. A little slice of home always feels good.

Service: can't say much because it's a pizza place and we only order and take our food. That month I had started Uber driving, was in this area of DC, had heard good things about Wiseguy, and decided to eat here. Although I don't like paying to park just to simply eat a meal, I sometimes will make an exception for convenience and/or if it's a place I really want to go. But for the most part, I'll go to restaurant where they have free parking or at least I can find free parking near the restaurant. I remembered getting a parking spot very close and feel like I feed the meter like 50 cents in 2014 parking prices for a quick 30 minute meal. They have all kinds of varieties of slices from the standard toppings or just cheese to fancy ones. Although the pizza is fairly thin, but average for New York style pizza. I tried Andy's Pizza 11 years later in 2025, and while it was solid although not as good as Wiseguy, my real complaint with Andy's was that the pizza is very thin, where I was hungry very soon later; so a much worse value as pricing is comparable to Wiseguy. Wiseguy slices are big, and the pizza is top notch New York style. I went to this location a couple of more times after my initial August 2014 visit as I loved the pizza. Then, they opened up other locations. I went to Navy Yard one at least twice, once after a Nationals baseball game after a disappointing loss for my 4th favorite baseball team, Texas Rangers. Sorry Nats fans, but Nats are in my bottom 10 teams. I also went to Rosslyn & Pentagon City location, where parking isn't quite as bad. They even had a Wheaton Mall food court location, which I got to experience once, but they sadly closed. Every experience with Wiseguy has been positive.

I grab and use in their entirety both the orange-y hot sauce and the green sauce every time while adding hatch chiles to the simplistico burrito. I've shown several other people this place and they loved it as well. When it turns to side door they make some bomb Detroit style pizza. I truly haven't had a bad example of the style yet. I don't know if I'm selecting well or if it's maybe just low key the ultimate style of pizza but this is yet another fantastic example. It's just a small, quick takeout place for the most part, though there is some seating outside when the weather is appropriate. As such, service is generally to the point which is fine by me.

Street Parking Only & It's Definitely Hit Or Miss. I Got Lucky & Found A Spot, But It Is Metered So Be Prepared To Pay. This Spot Is Literally A "Side Door" Located On The Side Of Scarlet Oak. Super Unique Setup With Cool Lights That Make It Easy To Spot. It's Different From Your Typical Pizza Place, Which I Actually Liked. Since It Was Monday, They Had Half-Off Pizzas If You Dine In & I Had To Take Advantage Of That. CHEESE PIZZA I Ordered A Cheese Pizza & Lemon Water. This Is Detroit-Style Pizza, So Don't Expect New York Style. It's Thick, With A Generous Amount Of Mozzarella Cheese & Tomato Sauce. Honestly, It Almost Felt Like A Cheesy Bread Situation But In A Good Way. The Crust Was Buttery With A Slight Crisp On The Outside & Soft Inside, Which Was The Perfect Balance. The Ingredients Tasted Fresh, & It Was Very Filling. The Size I Got Came With 4 Slices, & Honestly, 2 Slices Was More Than Enough. I'd Definitely Come Back & Bring My Son This Feels Like A Spot He'd Love, Especially If He's Into Breadsticks & Cheesy Pizza. The Staff Was Decent, Though I Didn't Interact Much. The Overall Setup Is Interesting, A Full Restaurant Vibe Inside With This Separate Pizza Concept On The Side. Different, But It Works. I'm Glad I Finally Tried It, Unique Setup, Solid Detroit-Style Pizza, & A Great Deal If You Catch It On The Right Day. Just Have To Be In The Mood For Detroit-Style Pizza.

From the time I arrived they made me feel special and wasn't even wearing anything that said it was my birthday. I brought a cake with me and I was going to ask how much they charge for storage and they told me "Nothing, it's free of charge". They relieved me so much. Now for the atmosphere, it was so so elegant in there even thinking about it now makes me want to go back just to stare at those wax candles that creates mountains of dripped wax which is its own kind of art. Next, let's take about the mouthwatering and delicious food we had. I ordered the Vodka Sauce Pasta and it was the perfect amount of heat and flavor. I also got a side of garlic bread and it was so crispy, light, buttery, and garlicky, just like I like it. My husband ordered the Drunken Love Pizza and of course I had to try a slice and WOWWWW. That one slice of pizza had me drooling it was so yummy!! Everyone enjoyed their food and it was great time. Now, on to my cake, I'd brought candles, plates, and even a knife with me to cut the cake. To my surprise, they brought the cake out with lit candles and everyone sung Happy Birthday to me. They even cut and served the cake to us. Keep in mind, there was not a charge on the bill for this either. It truly made my birthday even more special. Grazie Nonna, you don't understand how happy you made me feel that day. Thank you so much for the love shown on my special day. I will forever tell people this story. Thank you!
