Today's Pizza is a small takeout spot located in the Brookland neighborhood in NE DC. It's counter service. The food is made to order and took about 25 minutes to prepare. I went for the specialty pizza. I got an XL Trio with oxtail, jerk chick, and salmon & shrimp. The pizza was seasoned to perfection. The oxtail was tender and flavorful, although I prefer the sweet chili oxtail, this brown stew did not disappoint. The jerk chicken was spicy and had the right amount of kick to it. The salmon and shrimp also had a very nice flavor. Sometimes salmon can be dry. This was not too dry, but the shrimp had more flavor. My friend brought over an oxtail pizza pie for me to try. It's actually pretty good. Wish it were a bit spicier. This is definitely a neighborhood spot! The wait was a bit long, the messaging on the website was confusing and the pizza was delicious. Worth ALL the trouble, even the long drive from downtown! I ordered the half shrimp/salmon and half oxtail pizza. I am not at big salmon eater but the taste of the shrimp/salmon pizza was amazing. So was the oxtail pizza. What I liked most is that I ordered the pizza and was told that call in orders had to be paid for before the order would be made. My card wasn't working so the Lady on the phone said just pay me when you arrive. I took almost an hour to get to the store and she called to see if I was still coming to get my ordered. I was just outside parking when I got that call. Once inside I paid for my pizza order and thanked her. You could tell that she had a beautiful soul. Came here for the first time on Saturday and the customer service was a 10/10! The young lady was very helpful with any questions we had. She allowed my boyfriend and I to taste some desserts before just buying them and was kind enough to provide us with drinks. She made the experience great before even tasting the food. We ordered a medium pizza, half oxtail and half shrimp/salmon & the ooey gooey chocolate brownie bowl. The oxtail pizza is top tier ‍ The shrimp/salmon has onion and green peppers on it but it didn't have much flavor. The shrimp itself was seasoned but option itself was a 6/10. The brownie bowl was a 7/10 but we wish we had got the snickerdoodle strawberry cheesecake bowl instead because it was by far the best dessert and the strawberry banana pudding was the second best. I mean those bowls melt in your mouth. Total price for the pizza was $28. The dessert was $13. It's a little pricey but was worth trying. I finally stopped by Todays Pizza after seeing their viral oxtail pizza over instagram. I called in advance and ordered a large oxtail pizza with extra oxtail (an additional $8+) which they said would be ready in 30 minutes. When I arrive, I decide to purchase one of their soursop beverages (which they were unfortunately out of) and their carrot cake bunt cake. When I get home I immediately heat up the pizza in the oven and my first bite is amazing as the oxtail is bursting with flavor. However, after I take my first bite I notice that the pizza is in a great need of more cheese, and not solely for the fact that I added more oxtail. Overall, I would give the oxtail pizza a 4/5, and next time I'll ask that they put more mozzarella. As far as the carrot bunt cake goes it was a 2/5. The cake was more of a spice cake and it had about 0.02% carrots in it. Outside of the lack of carrots, the moisture level was just ok to me (and I definitely will not be ordering it again). The juice was good but it will dehydrate you with all the sugar. The customer service was great, felt like I was in great hands and the only reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 3!
