This has been a favorite place of mine for many years. Over the years, I've come in for a slice of pizza or dough to make my whole or grabbing a sub or some wine or Italian goods! Quick service. My friend and I ordered a pizza to go. Sausage mozzarella and pepperoncini. Reasonable prices as well! Taste is wonderful! Spicy and saucy, just the way I like it!

The Pizza is good better than almost anywhere else in DC. Customer service is Not. They are just not friendly , they will not go out of their way at all. So do not expect kindness or a pleasant experience. Just get your pizza and go. No frills. I do wish they looked happier and acted nicer but idk. Nobody in there is happy. But the pizza is decent. Its a good thing they don't have tables and its just a grab and go because 5 star customer service is not their fortay. It's about a 1-2 star in service. All this to say just called ahead and order over the phone for least interaction.

Vace is a very no frills Italian take out restaurant. They are located a block from the zoo, so I stopped in for a piece of pizza to eat before visiting the zoo. There are no tables or chairs inside or outside, so prepare to take your food on the go. I order 2 slices of pepperoni pizza for $2.50 each. If you are paying with a card, they have a $5 minimum order. My pizza slices took about 3 minutes and they just wrapped them in aluminum foil.

Highly recommend. The sauce is the best part IMO. The pizza was crispy and not floppy. There is a good amount of cheese but not too much. Overall just quality pizza. I give it an 8.3 out of 10.

If you're seeking great pizza in DC that is in the New York vein, look no further than Vace. My partner insisted that we get a pie from here when he was sick, and because pizza is medicine, I agreed, and I'm glad I did because this is without a doubt the best NY-ish pizza I've had in DC. As a born and bred Brooklynite, I would note that the crust is a tad thicker than the thin crust style that defines NY pizza, but Vace does such a great crust that it's still a winner. A LOT of sauce, almost in the Philadelphia tomato pie style, and I initially even wondered where the cheese was. But the cheese was definitely there, and was excellent, and the sauce was very good too. I have to give Vace a hand on the pizza toppings too - they have TWO olive options, one of which is kalamata! Much love for that from this Greek girl. Lastly, I can't hide how bowled over I was by the price - the entire large pizza, with tax, was under $22. That definitely beats New York right now because a good PLAIN pie from a pizzeria there will probably run you closer to $25 these days, at least. I live close to Vace, so will definitely be back for more great pizza (and apparently their other offerings are worth trying too).

Amazingly, I'd never reviewed this place despite its location near the Cleveland Park Metro and its longstanding status. As a deli, it includes a large amount of meat that I don't want anything to do with. Some of the small selection of sauces and noodles looked worthwhile for those actually living in the neighborhood. I suspect the fresh food will be the main attraction for most. They sell pizza by the slice at rates that haven't gone up a ton in the several years since I left the area. Notably, they offer a mushroom slice. The mushrooms appear canned, but they go alright on a slice. Mine was heated for perhaps a bit too long, but it was delicious. This is a place that works within a modest scope, but they do it well.

For 46 years, this Italian market and deli has been making waves in Cleveland Park (and Washington, D.C.). Here's why you should visit: 1) Food: There's a deli in the back that sells Italian subs for under $10 and slices of pizza for $2.50. In an expensive city, it's hard to find a less expensive meal. I ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza. It's thin crusted, but good! 2) Market: They sell all kinds of Italian products from hard-to-get sodas to wines to homemade pasta to all kinds of frozen lasagnas. Cured meats and soccer balls hang from the ceiling. 3) Service: Candidly, it's not friendly and at time abrasive, but it's part of the experience. If you love Italy, wander to Cleveland Park's Vace.

Never been here before and went in just to check it out, was hungry so got two slices. Wasn't expecting much since slices were 2.50 each but darn, probably the best pizza I've had in a while, crunchy and cheesy and yet thin. Wow!

We we sat down the waitress was very friendly and welcoming. She knew alot about the menu items and such. As soon as she handed me the wine menu and saw Chianti as one of the wines, I didnt hesitate to get a bottle for the table (I love Chianti with a story behind it). We ordered the Creamy Burrata, with Grilled Bread and four cheese sauce and the calamari for the appitizers. All of the appetizers were amazing and Im a sucker for grilled crushy bread. For the main course i ordered the Trout Piccata. The fish was cooked to perfection and the veggies were well seasoned. My friends ordered the chicken piccata, Caruso Alfredo and baked Cavatelli. Everything was good. Next up we ordered the butterfinger sundae, Nutella cannoli and tiramisu. The sundae base is chocolate ice cream. If you are fan of chocolate ice cream you will love the sundae. As well, I wish I could remember the gentlemen's name, but he took care of us with great recommendations and patience while we were overly conversational! Excellent cocktails and a small-ish, but high quality wine list made the drinking aspect in this really ambient corner restaurant perfect for birthday vibes. Cannot say enough about the perfectly cooked pastas. but the veal Francaise was the real star! Chicken parm was very good but a little overhyped, though the red sauce on everything was AMAZING. Made the side pastas as good as the entrees. Our tomato salad dressing was so good that even the cucumbers (which I do not like) shines. The garlic bread was kicked up with the cheese sauce and the calamari shone bright with the addition of the aioli. Everything was top-notch. Good value for the amount of food we ordered and the desserts were fantastic - including the creme brulee on the house for here birthday. First class dining experience. Grazie mile!

Found it to be a bit louder than I would've liked but I think it was because of the spacing between tables. Came toward the end of the night and got seated and welcomed right away. I ordered the polpette, meatballs to start. They were quite tasty, but the sauce was a bit watery. Think that's just because the meatballs themselves were pretty juicy. Heard the focaccia was a hit, so asked for some of that. I was told they didn't have any left. Which was weird, because then another server came and asked if I wanted bread. I'm glad I said yes because the focaccia is very fresh and was a great addition to the meal. For my main, I ordered the vodka pasta, which was very flavorful and very saucy. I love a good, thick vodka sauce and that's what you'll get here. The one part of the pasta I didn't really enjoy was the chicken inside the pasta. I think I would've preferred a grilled chicken option instead of the chicken that comes in the pasta. That being said, this place is a gem. The prices are great and the portions are hearty. The pasta is thick, you're really coming here for fresh noodles and ingredients. If you want to top your meal off just right, you'll get the chocolate lava cake. Very delicious! Service was good and staff was very attentive!

I insisted on going in here because they just look like they have good wine. Correct. They did. A great selection of respectable European varietals.
