My wife and I are regular customers and there was nothing regular about our lunch today. There were plenty of booths available and we were seated right away, that's where the good part ends. I ordered my regular, pastrami sandwich on rye and a cup of chicken matzoh ball soup. The soup came out lukewarm and without much taste, seconds later came my pastrami which by the time I finished my lukewarm soup the pastrami was also lukewarm - and very greasy. The pickle bar had dry sauerkraut and the pickles were mushy. Got home 8 hours ago and I'm still sick as a dog. My wife ordered her regular turkey sandwich with Russian dressing- turkey is always dry but this tasted old, old and dry. She threw out the 1/2 sandwich she couldn't eat. It's a popular spot at dinner too; this place is just busy all the time. That's a positive sign. The place was packed when we arrived! Seems like a go to spot for locals with many regulars. The matzoh ball soup was good and same for the pastrami. The pastrami is cut on the thinner side but tastes like beef bacon; it had nice crispy edges. The complimentary pickle bar is great (the pickled beets are fantastic)! Definitely enjoyed our time here from sitting at the restaurant and also doing some shopping afterwards. I enjoyed a pastrami, rye, and my son enjoyed the club sandwich. My husband had a matzoh ball soup and brisket sandwich. The pickle bar is definitely a highlight! I wish they had a kids menu honestly even if it was small because you know we mostly took most of my son's food home. The bakery in the deli section is awesome! I went with the meatball sub and a side of mac and cheese at this restaurant off of grubb road. The sub was great with plenty of cheese and marinara sauce in it. The side mac and cheese was good as well, very unique though I don't know if it was too much cheese but something was different with this. My service was ok, our waters weren't refilled and it took a while for the server to come back and give us the check. I stopped in for breakfast this morning, and--as always--it was amazing. It was pretty busy, so things were a bit slower than usual, but that's completely understandable and on us for not planning our timing better. The food and atmosphere were still fantastic. The only thing I'm disappointed about is the whitefish appetizer I ordered to go. For the last three visits, the portion has been much smaller than it used to be--surprisingly small. I should have checked it before leaving, but I didn't want to make a fuss. I really love this item and don't want to stop ordering it, so I hope the portions return to what they once were. What an institution. For years, I've heard stories about this deli inside a strip mall just across the D.C.-Maryland border. On New Years Day, I popped in since it was open. There was a line to get into their restaurant. The deli counter was busy, but after ordering their famous Reuben sandwich with pastrami, I was eating within minutes. And wow- their Reuben was delicious. The rye bread got a little soggy due to the Russian dressing, but the flavors were well balanced. I'd go back for sure! read more

They were similar except mine had coleslaw instead of kraut and Munster instead of Swiss. Loved them both but I think the Ruben was the winner. Enjoyed the pickle bar with the beets and half sours. Had a black and white on the way out. Oh yeah tried the chicken matzo ball soup. 1st timer and I thought it was really good. So, their set up is seamless. I initially went into done at the restaurant, located in the back. I was too hungry to wait, so did "take-out" instead. Our group hadn't seen each other in a while and our waitress was so kind. She had to come back several times before we were ready to order. She stayed so pleasant and got all of our orders correct. I ordered the nova lox platter. It was filled with hand cut nova lox, that was delicious. There was cream cheese, capers, tomatoes, onion, olives, and lettuce. I was in heaven. Parkway Deli is a tradition in my family but I hadn't been there in several years. We went for lunch today and, thankfully, nothing has changed. The man ordered the Reuben and fries and he said it was fantastic (I can vouch for the fries!). I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and vegetarian matzoh ball soup. The soup was perfect. The grilled cheese wasn't thoroughly cooked and I had to send it back to the kitchen. Don't be discouraged if you see a line because they definitely get you in and out. Nobody was rushing us but the food comes out pretty quickly (be sure to visit the pickle bar while you wait), so you're moving along briskly. We decided not to stop at the bakery for the chocolate top cookies but I remember them being incredible, so give them a try! read more

What an amazing neighborhood deli that I'm just discovering! A friend of mine was always bragging about his favorite deli in our area so I decided to stop in to see what all the hype was about. Thankfully, Parkway Deli did not disappoint! When I walked in, I experienced sensory overload with their vast beer and wine selection, an area that displays beautiful bakery items, the walk up deli counter, AND the restaurant's dining room in the back. I don't recall what day of the week it was, but it was BUSY and people were rolling in and out of there! I was so gracious for the recommendation from my friend that I treated him to a sandwich as well. I had the Ruben Grille and he wanted a toasted pastrami sandwich with cheese, mustard and sauerkraut. In hindsight, I should've ordered (and I think he really wanted) the Delight because my Ruben Grille looked a lot better than his toasted sandwich. Despite my order flub, both sandwiches were hefty and delicious. The gentleman at the counter taking payments was very friendly and kept me company while I waited. I will absolutely be back! The flavor of the turkey reuben I got today was very good, but was a little dry and there was a lot less cheese and dressing than my last purchase in 2025. I have been a repeat customer both online and in the restaurant. I ordered 2 pieces of cake online. When the order arrived, I was surprised that they were smaller than before. I called the manager and he said nothing has changed. I told him the piece of tiramisu I received was 2 and a quarter inches by 3 inches. He said that is correct , it comes precut and the restaurant charges 5.99. I told him that was a ripoff and he had lost a customer. He said he was sorry and I told him I was sorry as well. The food at the restaurant is good but there is a limit to being overcharged. I calculate the cost @ 3.00 per bite. The manager needs to talk to his vendor. Parkway is a classic for a reason. I came here for breakfast one Monday morning with a couple friends and although it was pretty busy, we were seated right away at a booth. I'd only been in for takeout and didn't realize there was a whole section in the back! The deli is surprisingly large. There were some local groups meeting there, which made me appreciate how integral it is in the community. They have a huge menu (including the Jewish classics) with a pretty good amount of vegetarian and vegan options. The prices are affordable for the area and the portions are large. My friends and I split a plate of latkes (applesauce and sour cream, naturally) and I decided to get a larger breakfast of pancakes, eggs, toast, and homefries. I had to get my meal as a few sides and it all came out on separate plates which was a bit overwhelming for table space. The food was great (nothing spectacular, but high quality diner/deli level) and our server made sure we had everything we needed. The staff came by to refill water and clear our plates frequently, so we felt taken care of. We didn't avail ourselves of the pickle bar this time, but it's a must do when you visit. read more
