Tevi's pizza
Savana S.

I really like the cozy atmosphere the Daily Dish had. Food came out fast and was very flavorful. I really loved the homemade raviolis, tuna tostada, Tevi's pizza, and banana bread pudding. Service was slower than I I anticipated, but our server was very nice.

Excuse the picture having a half eaten pizza, got too excited to try this place out. I love dish and Dram the other location by this owner. We went here on a Wednesday which had the two pizzas and a bottle of wine for $40 deal. The service was great, had a server that was constantly checking in on us and making sure everything was ok and our water and wine was topped off. The area of the restaurant was a highlight, you are able to get away from the hustle and bustle of the cities and downtown areas, in this quiet little neighborhood feely restaurant on grubb road. I loved my experience here and will give more reviews on my next experiences and items I try.

Witches Brew
Kamilia L.

Cute neighborhood spot. Selection of drinks and oven fired pizza. The happy hour was vast with a cute list of specialty drinks. We came to catch up but I wasn't impressed with the menu. Definitely, a lot of vegan or trendy dishes but nothing popped out. She settled on the Beet Salad with Salmon and I a chicken sandwich with home fries. She liked her salad but I wasn't impressed with my selection. It was indeed a hearty portion but did have much flavor. The spicy Aoil is what gave it elevation. The fries were very oily and didn't have any salt. I only ate the bottom half with toppings and 1 fry. The Witches Brew was strong but needed to be microwaved. I wouldn't come back but I hear it's a neighborhood watering hole. Maybe the weekend brunch or pizza offering is better.

We wanted to try out a new (to us) local brunch spot and The Daily Dish met our preliminary checkboxes... mainly outdoor seating for dogs. ;) The restaurant is located in a small shopping center with a cute outdoor set up. We dropped by on an early Sunday (around 10/11 am), and fortunately there was no wait. However, it might be advisable to make a reservation because the outdoor area seemed to fill up a bit while we were dining. For brunch, The Daily Dish has a nice mix of egg, sweet and savory menu items. Since I was in a sweet mode, I decided to go with the Challah French Toast, which was served with strawberries and smoked bacon. Overall, I thought the French toast was very filling and delicious. Extra points awarded because the French toast was not too sweet. The brunch dishes' prices were pretty standard ($15-20ish) compared to other brunch spots in the area. Same goes for the adult cocktails. Overall, the environment was pretty chill, and I thought service was pretty good. Since the restaurant is located in a small shopping center, the restaurant has free and accessible parking Looking forward to keeping The Daily Dish on our brunch rolodex.

Fish Tacos

Came here to catch up with coworkers over drinks and dinner and it was a nice time! Love that there is an open lot right in front of the establishment so you're not having to stress over garage or street parking. I got a glass of white wine and fish tacos - the tacos were okay but nothing to write home about. Very chill and relaxed environment, and our waiter was great.

Spring Forward, a lavender-flavored gin cocktail from the seasonal cocktail menu.

Brunch is my favorite meal of the day... but, at restaurants , it's often limited to Saturdays and Sundays, which makes it even more special. At brunch, you can have a cocktail before noon (reprehensible!) or have a little lobster with your eggs (lavish!). Hence I'm always looking for good brunch places, and I'm happy to say that I've found another one! The Daily Dish on Grubb Road in Silver Spring, Maryland often stays unnoticed for years and years by fans of the fabulous Parkway Deli, located in the same little strip mall. Until today, I was in that category... Parkway's gravitational pull is SO strong that the only way I got around it was to promise myself I could go in after brunch for a few takeaway items from the deli (the city's best whitefish salad or chocolate babka, anyone?). The Daily Dish has everything I could want from a brunch place: good cocktails, an interesting menu of both sweet and savory dishes, and delightful service. My Steak and Eggs plate featured the best over-easy eggs I've ever tasted outside of Spain (were these also shallow-fried in olive oil to give them such lacy, crispy edges?) and a tender, perfectly cooked mini steak with browned onion-studded home fries. Three simple foods, but all so well executed. The cocktail, a lemony lavender-scented Spring Forward, was from the regular (non-brunch) cocktail menu. Order it "up" in a martini glass for the best results... when served long with ice, it is too diluted to make its delicate statement. Reasons to go to The Daily Dish instead of its wonderful sister restaurant J.D. Hollinger's Waterman's Chop House in downtown Silver Spring? 1) It's easier to get a reservation, and 2) It's easier to get a parking place. Both restaurants have Jerry Hollinger's Pennsylvania Mennonite touch: absolute insistence on the freshest ingredients. But the fact that I don't have to worry about paid parking, and can still be true to my first love by stopping by Parkway Deli on my way out, makes The Daily Dish an exciting new love.

Close up of the fish taco (2 for $8 HH)

I thought if I went at 3:00 on a Monday I'd have no problem finding a seat at the bar. I was wrong. Actually, there were two seats available at the very far end, but the one on the end had a lot of junk in front of it. That was ok because I was alone. It's the last week Of school so I wanted to celebrate with Daily Dish's 15th anniversary special happy hour. I started with a lemon drop martini which was perfect! I could drink a pitcher of these! The happy hour taco of the day special was fish tacos (2), my favorite! The chef uses three types of fish, but mine were mostly salmon. They had great seasonings and the cabbage was fresh. The sauce complimented the tacos well. I hope these will be on the regular menu, and maybe shrimp too! Service was attentive for how busy the bar was. No one was seated outside or at the "floating bar" as they call it. I'll have to gather my friends next time.

What a pleasant surprise on all levels. We were looking for a quick but delicious classy meal and that what's we got. I was late to meet my friend as Google maps took me all over the place on the bike trails. Yes I was riding my bike and I didn't know my way around. Not only was there a rail to lock my bike, covered outdoor patio to dine in but the service was prompt and pleasant. The scallions and salmon were devoured with not a morsel left on our plates. Food was tastefully prepared, delicious and prompt. What more could anyone want from a neighborhood restaurant. A real find in an everyday strip mall.

Belgian Waffles

A great Sunday brunch spot with friends! The waffles were delectable. I also had a virgin Bloody Mary that was good, but a bit watered down. Our wait staff were super attentive and constantly checking on us and removing empty plates and drinks. Big groups are hard to take care of (I know as I was a waitress for a good chunk of my early 20s), but they made it look easy! Great job Daily Dish Team!

Went here and loved the good vibes and quick service. Nice menu, full bar, and indoor/outdoor seating. I sat inside with the live jazz, perfect atmosphere. The pizza was fresh and delicious. Only tip: avoid sitting with your back to the walkway. Otherwise, amazing spot!

We decided to try this restaurant for lunch on Saturday after seeing a long line at the Parkway Deli. The place has outside seating with a roof and a low-key vibe and offers various meals and alcohol. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated at a table right away. There were several groups already sitting and waiting for food before 11:30. On the menu, I didn't see many vegetarian/vegan options which I prefer if I can. The drinks were definitely overpriced. A single cup of orange juice for $4 and a lukewarm watery latte for $5.75. were disappointing. I've never seen a latte coming with a spoon already in a cup. Starbucks offers decent and cheaper coffee for sure. The meals were average. Waffles were super airy and crispy, but didn't give much flavor or satisfaction. Both bacon and waffles were literally cold as well. On the other hand, the omelet was fresh and better. The toppings were stuffed into a big omelet, and the eggs themselves were aggressively seasoned. Side potatoes were okay, but a little greasy. Overall, I would rather expect decent meals, drinks, and service for this price so I will look for another place next time...

This is an absolute hidden gem. Located in a neighborhood strip mall, but the quality of food and service were amazing.

My Go-To's: Spinach & Artichoke Dip One of the best around. It's always cooked just right, never underdone, never burnt. Great flavor and perfectly creamy. Rotisserie Chicken Salad Think Tex-Mex salad loaded with all the good stuff. I love, mixing the BBQ sauce with the chipotle blue cheese dressing, it's the perfect sweet-smoky combo. My African American military family arrived at 11:00 a.m. sharp on Father's Day. I mention "military family" because I want to paint an accurate picture: we weren't a loud or unruly group. We were five adults, five well-behaved children, and two infants looking to enjoy brunch together. The restaurant was completely empty. Not "a few open tables" empty--completely empty. No one was even sitting at the bar. When we told the hostess we didn't have a reservation, she went to get a manager. What struck me immediately was how flustered he became the moment he saw our group. He came out red-faced, visibly agitated, and immediately launched into how they were completely booked and there was "no way" he could seat a party of 12. We even asked if we could split into two groups of six and were met with the same response: impossible. We stood there looking at an entirely empty restaurant while being told there was absolutely no way we could be accommodated. The whole interaction was honestly bizarre. Confused, we simply said "okay" and started walking away. As we were already down the sidewalk, a hostess came after us and explained that we could sit on the patio, which was first-come, first-served. We could order through a QR code and have food brought to us. That was completely fine with us. In fact, with children and infants, the patio was arguably a better option anyway. The truth is, by that point we stayed more out of convenience than anything else. Getting five children and two infants back into three separate vehicles and finding another restaurant felt like more of a hassle than it was worth. Looking back, I wish we had simply left. Which raises the obvious question: if the patio was available all along, why wasn't that the manager's response from the beginning? Why did he act as though seating us was impossible instead of simply saying, "Our indoor dining is reserved, but you're welcome to sit outside"? I do not make accusations of racism lightly. However, after reflecting on the experience, I cannot escape the conclusion that race played a role in how my family was treated. The manager's reaction upon seeing our group, his immediate insistence that there was "no way" to seat us despite an empty restaurant, and the fact that available seating existed all along created an experience that felt unmistakably exclusionary. The interaction nagged at me throughout the meal, especially when my children and nieces and nephews started asking, "Why didn't the restaurant want us to eat here? The place is empty?" That's not a conversation I expected to have with children on Father's Day. When we left about 90 minutes later, both the dining room and patio were still far from full. I counted 8 open tables inside and 5 open tables on the patio at 12:30. I understand reservations. I've dined all over the world. But Moreland's is not a Michelin-starred restaurant with a months-long waitlist. It's a neighborhood pub--closer to an upscale Applebee's than fine dining. Yet somehow my family was made to feel unwelcome from the moment we walked through the door. After years of being a customer, that is deeply disappointing.
