3/4's of my steak and cheese...meh
    Maria P.

This is definitely a no-frills kind of place that serves the basics. Sandwiches, fries, and a few breakfast items. I believe there was one table and a really tiny ledge that had a small stool near it. Looked like the place just opened (or they're renovating). Anyway, the man who made my sandwich was very nice and I didn't have to wait long, but it wasn't that good. If I happened to be in the area and couldn't imagine waiting one minute longer to eat, then I'd order something. Otherwise, I'd drive down the road and try someplace else.

Was in the area and needed some lunch, checked out Yelp and this place was given 5 stars (granted by only two reviewers) so I decided to give it a try. Brookville Eatery is very typical of a sandwich shop located in or near an industrial complex. Probably just serving breakfast and lunch. Janelle did a good job describing the premises. The arcade games are still there and made me smile. Lunch special was sub, fries, and fountain soda for $8 incl tax. Opted for the cheese steak as Andrew opined it was the best in town. I have not eaten a cheese steak in Silver Spring but pity for the community if this was the best to be had. It was not bad but I have had better. Heck, even Subway's cheese steak (eek) was better. But hey, steak, onions, mayo, hots (ordered everything but did not come with lettuce or tomato?) on a toasted roll...Not bad. The sandwich was not seasoned and needed salt and pepper. The fries, thick cut steak fries, were not seasoned and needed salt and pepper. The fountain soda tasted off to the point of it not being drinkable.

Ordered the cheesesteaks (chicken and steak) and they did not disappoint. The bread was chewy as a cheesesteak should be and the meat and chicken was seasoned exceptionally well, and very very juicy. They were accompanied with an array of sautéed onions, green peppers and mushrooms. The value was great as well for $10 that brings chips and a drink from the ice barrel parked in front. The only downfall (if you dare call it that) was the location as its tucked away in the Pacci's Restaurant parking lot and you can easily miss it as you're making the turn around the bend, but that's no big deal. All in all, great value, great food, great service. Highly recommended. Next time, I'll definitely take the cannoli.

Following Chef Luis' recommendations, I went with the Cuban sandwich. Normally I'm not a fan of yellow mustard, but somehow it all comes together well with the turkey ham and pickles to make a delicious Panini style sandwich. Their cooler has both traditional and craft sodas to choose from, but they recommend Sprecher fine brewed root beer to pair with the Cuban sandwich. Edit all good come together well with the sea salt potato chips. Overall, I'd recommend this food truck as one of the best I've seen. Decor and atmosphere are what you make it, as this is a food truck. I ended up taking our meal home which is less than a quarter-mile away. However I wonder if I was influenced by this gorgeous summer weather we have been having on a beautiful blue sky day. Regardless of where you decide to eat your meal, the spotless truck says "cleanliness", and the welcome friendliness of the cooks make this a worthwhile place to get a good lunch.

They keep it simple, prices range from seven to $10, though the dry erase think has rubbed off recently.

Very clean block of businesses. Inside, everything appears to be very new and very clean. It's a popular place but its small size coupled with its popularity is its own enemy as it's difficult for the small staff to take orders efficiently. About 5-6 people in line and the line was very slow moving as I watched while waiting. Happily, I was the first one in line as I arrived at 11 AM sharp. Ordered a cheesesteak with provolone rather than cheese whiz and was told it would be 15 mins. It took about that. I suspect they had to heat up the griddle first since they had just opened. They make it from scratch in the back. I could hear them chopping up the beef on the griddle. They were doing a lot of chopping. I also got a coke and a couple half-smokes to go. There are no tables inside. They have some very high-end meats such as dry-aged ribeye, prime cuts of beef, pork, what appears to be homemade sausage, etc. I ate the cheesesteak outside on the provided picnic-like-tables on the sidewalk out front. There is also seating at a community area across the street and some of those tables are covered. The cheesesteak was extremely hot with tender chopped beef, cheese (I chose provolone), onions, and mayo, and it was a bit drippy. I like drippy. Roll was nice and soft. It was a huge sandwich. They do cut in in half. Half would have been enough for lunch. No napkin was in the bag. I ended up eating half there and went home to Brookeville, then ate the other half. It was very well-seasoned and tender juicy beef. There were no strands of sinewy fat or anything like that. Just tender beef with the cheese and cooked onions. The beef was perfect, the amount of cheese was perfect, the onions were perfect, the bun was perfect. It may very well be the best cheesesteak in the DMV.

Their grilled chicken breast sub has remained one of my favorites, and the taste has consistently stayed great throughout the years. My most recent visits take me back to my childhood, and this might sound like an exaggeration, but every bite is nostalgic. Another one of my favs is their chicken Caesar salad. I generally love Caesar dressing, but theirs is top tier. I don't think I've ordered it in years, but hopefully the taste has also remained the same. I'll probably order during my next visit!

I don't even know how to describe it (pictured below), but it is awful. I have placed my order online, waited a half hour, then showed up to get my food and...waited another half hour. The place could be empty and you're still waiting for an additional 30 mins for no reason. They often run out of mozzarella (an ostensibly Italian joint!), the pizza is undercooked and borderline raw, an Italian cold cut sub (a staple I have had for years) now has American cheese on it for some reason and is near inedible. I could go on forever, but I am done with this place. I can't imagine anyone who knows anything about Italian food thinking this place is even mediocre at this point. Never again.

Unfortunately, my very first interaction with the restaurant completely turned me off. I called on **02/12/2026** because I couldn't make a reservation online and wanted clarification. The man who answered said the Silver Spring location is "first come, first serve" and does not take reservations. When I tried to ask a follow-up question, I was told he was on another line -- and then he abruptly hung up. If reservations aren't accepted, I'm not sure why a potential guest would be rushed off the phone instead of being welcomed or given basic information. First impressions matter, and this experience felt dismissive and unnecessarily rude. Because of this interaction alone, I've decided not to visit this location. I hope management takes customer service more seriously, especially for people reaching out for the first time.
