I'm so pleased I stopped in for breakfast this morning. I found the place searching for breakfast on Yelp. Very small spot with a few tables for eating in. I ordered two eggs, home fries and toast. Also got a bottle of water. I sat down (place was empty) and food arrived a few minutes later. Eggs were good (not dried out and not runny), toast was good and potatoes (with pieces of onion included) were excellent. Nice sized chunks - well prepared. I noticed while sitting that people who came in to pick up orders were smiling and interacting with the gentleman who served me. This is a very welcoming, friendly place. As I was leaving, I chatted a bit with the owner, who has been here for 35 years. He commented that they prepare the home fries every morning from fresh potatoes - "we never use frozen" - and it confirmed my view that this is a very welcoming place with decent breakfast and is well worth a visit. read more

This is my go to spot in the morning before work. It's a quaint little spot tucked away. It is a small, family owned business. Its very simple and too the point. None of the glitz and glamor. I typically get a scrapple, egg, and cheese on toast. Which has been wonderful every time. The customer service is always great & food is always fresh, and the prices are affordable. Their hours are shorter now due to COVID but they are still standing and hopefully for a long time. read more

I was actually headed to Gola, a couple of doors down, but it was closed. This little office park lunch joint turned out to be a good choice. The daily special was a cheeseburger and fries. It hit the sweet spot between tasteless fast food and expensive cheffy burgers. Nice crust on the rim, tender and juicy inside. The fries looked like common crinkle cut frozen, but were also perfectly cooked and actually tasted like potatoes. Clearly, the proprietor cares about quality ingredients and mindful preparation. The "dining room" is six tables off to the left as you come in. Plain, but I was too hungry to care. Cordial service, and I liked that they had Arizona teas and some healthy choices for snacks. For those who want the short version of my review: Excellent food. Homemade, real and fresh ingredients since the 80s. No frills. Just good, old-school deli with sandwiches and more. Survived COVID. Small, family-owned business. Detailed version: I've been going to this deli since I was 8 years old, which was 29 years ago. My parents took me there and we never stopped going. Everything on their menu is great, but personally, my favorite menu items are the Reuben, their classic Steak and Cheese sub, Chicken Noodle Soup and Deviled Eggs. The Reuben on rye is just delicious, comforting, greasy goodness with their homemade thousand island dressing and a little bit of coleslaw. I don't know if the coleslaw is what already comes with it because they know my order and don't ask, but I enjoy that extra crunch and little bit of sweetness in the sandwich. Their Steak and Cheese are a classic and still so good. I remember in the 90s when people used to line up out the door to wait for this sub. The Chicken Noodle Soup is seasonal and usually only available during the fall and winter. Hands down best chicken noodle soup you will find in the MoCo and surrounding areas. The owner Jay makes it himself now but he uses his mother's homemade secret recipe. I remember her and her husband. She was their secret weapon. She made all the recipes for all their homemade foods. Her husband was the taste tester and always chilling at a table reading a Korean newspaper until it was time for him to sweep. They passed away years ago, but they were there everyday. The deviled eggs contain relish, so it might not suite everyone's tastes, but I love it. So simple, so fresh, just good. There is a lot of history in their ingredients and recipes. They always put love and care into their food and that's why we haven't stopped going. Hope you all give them a try. read more

Before my disappointment could get any worse, I looked at my trusted bookmarked restaurants and next door was this eatery. I been going to Parkway Deli since 1965...the food is always good and appreciate the free pickle bar.. Todays visit around 3pm turn out to be the worst. Shout out to Yelp for leading me to Parkway Eatery. I found myself famished in Silver Spring last weekend and PE came through with the sustenance. The restaurant is located in an industrial park and is very unassuming. When I walked in, I felt like I was back home in NY. We got a pleasant welcome, scanned the menu, ordered, and had our food in front of us in a matter of minutes. It was a lot of food, too, for the low low ($). I had cheese eggs with homefries. Simple but good. It took me a while to dig into the eggs because I wasn't feeling the cheese on there but, once I tasted it, it was on (and gone!). I tasted the french toast which was strangely perfect. There are only a few tables so no one is expecting you to sit and hang out but you can, if you want to. The owners are friendly and we chatted and joked a bit before we headed out. I don't find myself in Silver Spring often but I'll definitely find myself here again. read more

From looking at the reviews, it was looking like this place may not look the best but they make up for it in food quality and service. Well those reviews were spot on. When we pulled up, my kids said it looked sketchy and refused to go in. For kids who have led a pretty sheltered life, I guess it could have felt that way. But that was their problem and I'm glad I didn't listen to them. I didn't see anything to make me feel unsafe or anything like that So I went on in. I like little local hole-in-the-wall places that's exactly what this place is. I have no clue if they can actually make the full menu at any given time. There are tons of choices there from eggs any way you want them to different kinds of sandwiches to steaks to bulgogi. I was only there for breakfast one day and I ordered a bacon and cheese omelet and home fries. It did not disappoint. This was cooking like you want your mom to make you every morning. It was so good. If I make it back to that area again, I'll definitely stop back in. I'd love to try their bulgogi. That sounded really good. This is the type of local small mom n pop business i very much love to support. This is one of those places where you walk in and it may look like it's disorganized but everything kinda have its own place. I dunno if I'm making much sense here but y'all just gonna hafta check it out for yourself! Anyway, I ordered the bulgogi meal and the kind man told me they make it there from scratch. I was expecting the usual overly sweet bulgogi, but this one isn't. And it's seasoned just right and the broccoli and onions weren't over cooked and still had the crunch to it. I loved it! I ordered 2 servings of cheeseburger (without the extras) and my boys absolutely loved it. So much so that they begged me to take them back there for another order of the burgers. These kids are very picky when it comes to burgers and I'm very pleased to hear them ask for seconds. Y'all come on out and try them! read more

Parkway Eatery is a worth the search in the Tech Road/ MVA area. I'll even save you the search- it's next to Phò D'Lite in the small section of offices that look like houses. You'll understand when you see them. Parkway has been part of this area for a very long time. A quick conversation with the owner confirmed this, as he told me that they've been there for nearly 30 years. It's shown in the constant stream of people running in for a quick sandwich or a cold bottled drink. It's easily seen in the greetings and smiles exchanged along with orders and payments. I've only stopped here a few times, as I tend to pass by on my way to or from errands- usually on my way home from the nearby grocery store. I'd much rather pick up an order of their delicious bulgogi than make food, but they close before dinner, so it simply hasn't happened yet. It will though, as their bulgogi is a large plate of nicely seasoned shaved beef, and would make a great part of a meal at home. If you are in the area because of car repairs or a wait at the mva, Parkway Eatery is a quick walk from those business. It is also close to the hotels next to ihop, and is worth the few extra minutes it takes to get there. Try the bulgogi! read more

This place is one of the best hole-in-the-wall spots I've been to! Went there for breakfast and left completely satisfied. Great service. The food was amazing. Some of the best French toast I've had in a very long time. Eggs were great. And those home fries taste like my grandma made them! While dining in, we were given the perfect amount of attention, and he even came and took our plates when he saw we were finished. Best part of the experience were the jokes! I usually order the Steak and Cheese but I just ordered a BLT for lunch (wasn't steal and cheese hungry) and was pleasantly surprised to how much bacon was on it and the quality of the tomato. Friendly service Had the gyro and it's not to the level of a real gyro place but it was good as far as taste. The meat is very thin and not cut freshly if course since they are not known for gyros. Delicious subs! I've been a loyal customer for the past ten years. I can't find another eatery that can offer the same quality and prices and I adore the inside of this cute, quaint cafe. It's retro, clean, has tons of character, and makes you appreciate the Mom and Pop setting as you chomp down on a delicious sub in the small dining area. For their breakfast menu-- something I noticed was that they use REAL eggs and not the type of eggs in a carton you see at most restaurants! This is a nice touch that makes me come back. Man I love this place. I first came here about 5 years ago with a couple friends and sporadically came after that. It's been a few years since I've been here but I decided to pay a visit on a Saturday morning when I wanted a low-key breakfast. I got a simple sausage and egg sandwich on white bread with a small coffee. I paid $11 for two orders (for my mom and I) which is a steal!! This is not a place you go for ambiance. If you want excellent food at a reasonable price, this is a great choice, but there's more to it that. There's also quick service and a friendliness you don't get elsewhere. The chicken salad is one of my favorites, and so is the tuna. The lettuce is always crisp, and the tomato tastes like a tomato. Eating one of those is a handful. No skimping portions here, and not one of those "2 ice cream scoops of mayo with some tuna in it" Subway sandwiches. I love the french fries, too. They are always crispy on the outside and steaming hot. I sometimes plan a side trip over to Parkway just for the fries. This is one of those places where the owner always has a smile for you when you walk in, and a personal greeting once he gets to know you. Sometimes I will call in my order while driving up or down 29, usually 1 light before the turn, and 9/10 times, the order is ready, the fries are too hot to eat, and my meal is wrapped and ready. I couldn't beat the speed at a fast food place, and the food wouldn't be in the same class. You can tell this place gets a lot of regulars from the steady stream of chit chat and greetings as people walk in, and I can see why. read more
