A truly remarkable brunch experience! After two bad experiences that same morning, my guests and I decided to try Copper Canyon. We had an amazing experience - service and food- wise. We were seated immediately at a very cozy booth and from start to finish our service was top tier. Amber served us and she was professional and a breath of fresh air, attentive and personable. If you can get her as your server you are in for a treat! The food did everything it was supposed to. Amber suggested the Fiesta eggrolls, and the bite of putting lettuce the sauce on top of one the eggrolls was UNREAL. A must try - one of the best non-traditional eggrolls, I have ever had. The crab dip was delish, came to the table warm and the bread served with it was so softly toasted. The corn bead was so good -we couldn't even wait to take a picture. Worst steak I've ever had a restaurant. I indulged myself with the steak frites. Fries and salad were fine. The steak was 80% gristle, tough to cut, almost impossible to eat. Convenient spot for a group of us to hang out before heading on vacation. Located in downtown Silver Spring you can catch a great bite to eat and hit the movies afterwards. I usually go to the Glenarden location with family and this spot is growing on me. Great for groups, dates, etc. For those who drink, they have a whole page for you. This restaurant is huge inside and nicely laid out. I met a friend here for dinner and we had an overall decent experience. Our server was friendly and attentive at the beginning but completely fell off at the end. We had to flag another staff member when wanted to get dessert and another server later for our check as our server stopped checking on us after our entrees arrived. Besides our server issue, the cocktails we ordered were delicious. I loved mine - Peartini and Fleur de Lis and was able to try the Malibu Daquiri and Lemon Drop my friend got. All were so good! For food, I got the Crab cakes and my friend got the Rattlesnake Pasta. My crab cakes were good but not amazing. We also shared a Key Lime Pie for dessert which was also pretty good. I like this location better than the one in Lanham, I think the ambiance is better, starting with the beautiful fire pit burning outside of the entrance. It's really great in the wintertime. Always great service, and great food. This place is always a hit; I've never experienced a miss. The cocktails are always on point as well. The restrooms are always clean and so is the restaurant. Every employee I've ever encountered here has had a great/positive attitude. I enjoy their Lemon drop martini, and their rotisserie chicken is to die for.... Probably the highlight of their menu, also they have great fiesta eggrolls, and I love their Salmon as well. Only thing that is a bit odd to me are---the Jalapeno's inside of the cornbread. Some people may enjoy it, I just don't. However, that doesn't take away from all the good this place has to offer. Also, this is a very romantic spot, if that's what you're going for, perfect for a date.... Plus, I don't believe I've ever seen children present while dining here. I've been here once years ago, and I thought the food was fine. Nothing noteworthy. It's chain restaurant food. However, it popped up on my door dash search for prime rib around the time the pandemic started. I've ordered delivery several times since from here - mostly for the prime rib. The Prime Rib is pretty consistent and has that salty crust on the outside. It's usually cooked to the requested temperature. The Iron Skillet Cornbread is always good but this last time was a bit spicy with the chunks of jalapeño throughout. It's not a bad thing unless you have a child that wanted to eat it, which we do. New for us with this order was the Roasted Brussels Sprouts app, which was tangy and savory and not soggy as it often is with takeout. We also got the spinach artichoke dip, and it was just decent. Nothing special. Pot pie was surprisingly spicy. Again our child couldn't eat it. I can't review the ambiance or service bc it's been years since we dined in. I will continue to order takeout prime rib from here when I'm craving it bc it's close enough to us that it's still warm when it arrives. If you're ordering from far away and would need to reheat the food, take that into consideration. I usually don't order steaks and meats that would require reheating for fear of drying it out. One of the best burgers I've ever had. Service was great. Place is big and everyone is super friendly.

If I didn't know it was the same restaurant that my family has enjoyed and patronized for more than a decade, you could have fooled me. Everything has declined, from the kitchen to the front desk. I made a reservation online and followed up with a phone call a) to let them know we were coming to celebrate a 30th birthday, and b) to request a booth for 3 people, as far from the kitchen and the bar as possible. The host showed us to the only booth that sits in direct, constant view of the noisy kitchen and the servers coming in and out of it. My food was absolutely awful: a wilted Caesar salad drowning in so much dressing that the lettuce was unrecognizable as Romaine; a $10 no-proof beverage called Pom something that claimed to have peach, honey and ginger beer, ingredients no one at the table could taste. I sent it back and ordered an Arnold Palmer, which came without a single ice cube. The chicken pot pie was barely warm, and the crispy crust I used to love was squishy; the formerly delicious calamarI was like unchewable rubber hidden in batter. Finally, when I asked for an espressso with a twist of lemon peel, the server asked, "Do you want espresso or coffee?" When I pointed out that espresso IS coffee, he said, "But we have two different machines in the back." The espresso was served with a chunk of lemon peel, too thick to twist. I enjoyed Copper Canyon for years, enjoying their predictably well-prepared, reasonably priced dishes and attentive service. Which bring me to the end of our (probably final) visit. Remember I mentioned telling at least 3 different staff members -- one on the phone, the host, and our server -- that we were celebrating a birthday? Well, when a woman at the table next to us was served a slice of cake with a lit candle, while we were ignored, the decision was made for me. Next time, I'll spring for the money and go west of Rock Creek Park, or stick to Silver Spring Thai, which does a better job with delivery -- always fast, piping hot, politely delivered -- than Copper Canyon did in person. I came here on a random Thursday on a whim with no reservations. The street parking was limited and I was lucky to find a spot in front but I believe there's a garage nearby. They have a fireplace type thing at the door which is pretty cool. The wait time was give or take 5-10 mins so not too bad. The restaurant has a dim vibe, it's clean, calm, and pretty spacious for my view. I ordered the following: Eastern Shore Style Crabcakes- 7/10, they were just okay. Leaf spinach- 9/10, pretty fresh Mashed potatoes- 8/10, typical Oyster bay Sauvignon Blanc- 8/10 They was nothing on the menu that truly stood out to me and I honestly don't think I'd return because there was nothing I ate that wowed me or that I would crave again. read more

We have come here the last 3 years for my grandmothers milestone birthdays. This year she turned 105. The menu here works for everyone in our family perfectly. There family rooms are ideal for our parties. This year we had a smaller close family party so we used the smaller room. Obviously it is cold outside but it was freezing in this room. I like Copper Canyon grill. I used to come here all the time back in the day but some things have changed. I remember they used to have a Rotisserie Chicken Caesar salad on the menu with cornbread croutons, my God I would drive 30 minutes to pick this salad up. That's how good it was to me. Me and all my friends were getting this salad. Of course to some that is too simple. Now they only have a side Caesar (no croutons) and their Rotisserie salad has all this extra stuff in it that doesn't add to the flavor profile for me. Even their cornbread tasted a little different to me, not as mouth watering but maybe I'm just used to pairing it with the Caesar. I still love their Rotisserie Chicken which is delicious. It comes with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. The ambiance is nice, it is always clean and the service is excellent. It's like having multiple servers, they all come past and ask you how you are and if you need anything. I once went to a party in the back of the restaurant which is available to rent. It is spacious and the bathrooms are clean as well. Parking is garage parking or a very select few parking spaces in the front of the building that are never open. They have a warm fire burning outside in case you wanted to wait there for your table. I'd recommend it for a nice date night, bar scene, or small party. read more

We got the spinach and artichoke dip to start, which was tasty. I got the cheeseburger and my husband got the ribs. The cheeseburger was great. We had an afternoon reservation on a Saturday for 5. We checked in at the time, and our table was being prepared. There's seating inside at the entrance while you wait for your party to arrive. Staff was amazing from being greeted, to our waitresses (we had 2 as one was in training) as well as other waiters and waitresses. They are sure to make sure all of your needs are met and keep you up to date on your food/drink arrival. The atmosphere is phenomenal. White tablecloth service. Perfect temp inside on a hot day, and there was some outdoor seating if you wanted to enjoy the breeze. Also a bar area in front. Our group ordered across the board - Club chicken salad, Filet marinated salad, Rotisserie Chicken Salad, crab cake sandwich, and meatloaf. We also did two appetizers - calamari and spinach artichoke dip. Drinks- we had the watermelon sangria and the Domain St Michele wine. We loved the sangria!!! The fresh watermelon was a super nice touch. Wine was great too! Everyone enjoyed their meals. Not a request for anything additional was needed. The calamari was perfect, and so was the sauce. The sauce did have some grated cheese, so be sure to ask for that omitted if necessary. Spinach dip is also delicious and was paired with sour cream and salsa to accompany it. Copper Canyon is your standard "Americana" pseudo-upper-end chain style (per their website it appears to be a Maryland chain) restaurant in Silver Spring. The menu is what one would expect from this type of a restaurant: steaks, grilled meats, sandwiches, etc. We were referred to this restaurant by a hotel worker where we were staying nearby, who described the restaurant is rather expensive. I actually found the restaurant's prices reasonable by today's standard. The restaurant was busy and we didn't have a reservation, but were able to get a seat outside. Our server was nice, but sort of pushy - didn't really give us time to look at the menu after we sat down. We ordered drinks, and she then came back a few moments later without our drinks and asked if we were ready, so we ordered. I ordered their signature roasted chicken, which was decent, but nothing original nor outstanding, while my partner had the prime rib. A few moments later she appeared with the drinks, and sort of apologized I think for not bringing when she came to take our order for the main courses. The main courses came out suspiciously quickly, too quickly - and the youth food-runner worker who brought the food slammed the plates down so hard that it spilled my partner's au jus sauce all over his plate. I complained to our waitress who was apologetic, but did nothing to remedy the situation. I also have to point out that my partner's club soda glass was dirty on the inside. Long story short, the food was OK, nothing special, but generous portions, like I said very "Americana." It's a good place to go if you are with picky unadventurous dining companions, or just don't know what you want - but nothing I will be in a hurry to go back to, especially with the other little fallacies. 2.5 to 3/5 read more

But I didn't let that get in the way of a very good meal Service was top notch thanks to Max S. He was attentive and took great care of us. Katie was our server and she was awesome! We had corn bread and spinach artichoke dip as appetizers, then for dinner I had the steak special with bacon Mac and cheese and spinach. I wouldn't order the spinach again (it was bland), but the steak was cooked to order and the bacon Mac n cheese is delicious. Everyone was pleased with their food, the service and ambiance. I was deceived. I had high expectations for this place...until I realized, obviously too late, that this was another run of the mill American chain restaurant. I perused their website and menu and it all read and looked awesome. I should've known better when we asked for sparkling waters and were given 4 glasses of water, with no sparkle and no bottle, we were just told it was Perrier and billed for it! (Hmmmmm) Drinks: watermelon margarita was a miss, way too much tequila in the drink. Blood orange margarita was a hit. Appetizers: Fried calamari was good and crispy. Iron skillet cornbread, which by the way was very very good. They should open up a drive through and just sell the skillet cornbread. Lunch: Two orders of shore style crab cakes with fries. The crab cakes were good, plenty of crab meat but they just didn't have that crispy top or bottom. Two orders of Crispy Chicken sandwiches with fries. This, this right here was the worst chicken sandwich ever of all evers. We were served an oily slab of chicken with oil soaked breadcrumbs, with a glob of mayo and smothered with what they call cole slaw. This was like eating their day old chicken parm...repurposed. What also had me feeling sure it was yesterday's leftovers was that for us arriving shortly after opening hour, the food came out quicker than quick.....Like Speedy Gonzalez couldn't have served us any faster. The ambience is very comfortable. Met up with friends here yesterday, Friday evening - we hadn't seen each other in years, so we were excited to reconnect. The food was fine, ambience was nice, and the location is convenient. We caught the end of happy hour at the bar, where I paid our tab with a credit card (swiped right in front of me), and then moved to the dining area for dinner. I paid my dinner tab with my bank card and left around 8:30 PM to head to our event. As I was arriving home from the event around 11 PM, I got a purchase alert: a $1,077.89 charge at Walmart. I had only used that specific card once all day - at Copper Canyon. The next day (today), I called and spoke to the manager named Melissa to let them know so they would be aware in case someone on staff is skimming card numbers. I wasn't expecting much, and I got about what I expected - she said she'd never heard of this happening before and floated the idea that it might've been a "Walmart hack." That logic didn't hold - my Walmart account shows no transactions, and the card was on my person at the time of the charge. She took my name and said she'd "look into it." Bottom line: if you come here, maybe consider using cash. The experience was otherwise fine, but I was left with a serious concern - and not much reassurance. read more
