Firehouse chili: it was an appetizer so not a huge portion portion, but what we wanted. Ordered the sliced raw jalapeños and shredded cheddar cheese on the side. It also comes with chopped red onions on top. Very good chili. Would order it again. Rotisserie chicken salad: rotisserie chicken is a signature dish at Copper Canyon Grill. It's wonderful on salad. My photo doesn't do justice to how much chicken was on the salad, which was a lot. The salad was delicious. I ordered the blue cheese dressing and the barbecue sauce on the side. The blue cheese dressing is amazing with chunks of blue cheese in it. This salad is my favorite. Very Bliss cocktail: I was going to order a nonalcoholic beer, but our server, Ash, recommended this cocktail, which I ordered but asked to make it minimally sweet. It was delicious and refreshing containing strawberry, basil, fresh citrus, agave, and soda. and I would order it again. Great recommendation Ash. Service: stellar Service from Ash. I visited Copper Canyon in Silver Spring on a business trip. The room is large, dark and inviting. Staff were uniformly friendly, attentive and efficient. I ordered a Harvest Garden Salad with a side of fries. Both were good but not great. The salad checked al the boxes for freshness and presentation but somehow fell flat on flavor. The fries were crisp and salty, and not too greasy or heavy, but again fell a bit flat on flavor. This is a 3 star review that wants to be a 4 star review. I just can't find any Wow factor that kicks it up to four. Sangria is excellent but the meal was just good. Sometimes good is enough for a good evening and that is what I had at Copper Canyon, but I will not remember it for long. read more

Although I'm not usually a steak fan, this place changed my mind. The side dishes were delicious, too. My takeout order was ready on time, accurate, and prepared according to my instructions. I recently had dinner here for a special celebration. The restaurant is located in downtown Silver Spring so very easy to get to, with a short walk from the metro station. I had a reservation and it definitely took awhile for our table to get ready despite the many empty tables. That was a little surprising and why I dropped the stars. It just felt like the host stand was overwhelmed even though there weren't that many people there on a Monday night, early dinner. We all enjoyed our meals. I had the Bravo salad with chicken, which was tasty while my partner had the chicken pot pie. I'm guessing it was good since he ate it all before I could have a bite! My dad, sister and I came here for dinner on the Thursday night before graduation. My sister made reservations at 7:15pm but it wasn't too crowded so probably would've been okay without. There's a parking garage next to the restaurant around the corner which is convenient. For starters, I did their special which was the clam chowder. It was really good and came with oyster crackers in it. For dinner, I did the steak frites and the fries were seasoned with garlic. The steak had a little bit too much fat for my liking but overall delicious! My sister did the salmon with green beans and mashed potatoes and my dad got the chicken pot pie. A truly remarkable brunch experience! After two bad experiences that same morning, my guests and I decided to try Copper Canyon. We had an amazing experience - service and food- wise. We were seated immediately at a very cozy booth and from start to finish our service was top tier. Amber served us and she was professional and a breath of fresh air, attentive and personable. If you can get her as your server you are in for a treat! The food did everything it was supposed to. Amber suggested the Fiesta eggrolls, and the bite of putting lettuce the sauce on top of one the eggrolls was UNREAL. A must try - one of the best non-traditional eggrolls, I have ever had. Our server was friendly and attentive at the beginning but completely fell off at the end. We had to flag another staff member when wanted to get dessert and another server later for our check as our server stopped checking on us after our entrees arrived. Besides our server issue, the cocktails we ordered were delicious. I loved mine - Peartini and Fleur de Lis and was able to try the Malibu Daquiri and Lemon Drop my friend got. All were so good! For food, I got the Crab cakes and my friend got the Rattlesnake Pasta. My crab cakes were good but not amazing. We also shared a Key Lime Pie for dessert which was also pretty good. I was really looking forward to a night out with my family and having a glass of wine or a cocktail with dinner. Instead, I somehow ended up in an ID enforcement saga. Our server carded me and explained that they were "cracking down" on IDs and had to card everyone. Fair enough. I didn't have my physical ID with me, but I did have photos on my phone of multiple forms of government-issued ID showing that I am, in fact, 40 years old. He went to get his manager, Monica. Now, yes... we all know a photo of an ID isn't technically an acceptable form of ID. I get it. But I am 40. Almost 41. I was sitting in a booth with my husband and our two children under five literally hanging all over me. I assure you, no one was going to mistake me for a 20-year-old attempting to illegally order a glass of wine and get trashed with my gals. Give a mom an effing break and a drink, dear God. But here's the part that really irritated me: the next couple sits down behind us and doesn't get carded at all because, according to the explanation we were given, they had gray hair. So... we're "cracking down" and "have to card everyone," except apparently we don't actually card everyone. We're just selectively deciding who looks old enough. If the policy is to card every single person, card every single person. I can respect that. But don't tell me you have to card everyone and then immediately demonstrate that you don't. The food is whatevs, but unfortunately my lasting impression of our family night out is: Lame. I just wanted a glass of wine. read more

They have a fireplace type thing at the door which is pretty cool. The wait time was give or take 5-10 mins so not too bad. The restaurant has a dim vibe, it's clean, calm, and pretty spacious for my view. I ordered the following: Eastern Shore Style Crabcakes- 7/10, they were just okay. Ordered rotisserie chicken and collard greens through a third party delivery service. The rotisserie Chicken was so dry we could barely finish it and threw the left overs away. Normally we would have eaten the left overs tomorrow for lunch but it was too dry to keep. The collard greens were so salty that my son would not even it them at all and we threw them away. Since it was a Door Dash order the restaurant would not provide me with a refund and Door Dash could only provide a $5 refund on an order that was over $80.00. Not a happy customer. read more

It 's just really hard to find things to nitpick about CCG. I've been there three times and always come away with a good experience. The burger and fries were perfection, the beef/pork meatloaf & mashed potatoes was hearty comfort food, and the chicken pot pie was flakey and savory. When I took my Niece there, she had rattlesnake pasta and sangria and liked them both (we split a key lime pie which was delicious!). The atmosphere is low key and casual, with innocuous smooth jazz in the background. There is a central big oval bar where you can eat/drink, plus open tables and booths. This Copper Canyon is located in Silver Spring right near the Nando's and (now) Chido's Mexican restaurant. I like this location better than the one in Lanham, I think the ambiance is better, starting with the beautiful fire pit burning outside of the entrance. It's really great in the wintertime. Always great service, and great food. This place is always a hit; I've never experienced a miss. The cocktails are always on point as well. The restrooms are always clean and so is the restaurant. Every employee I've ever encountered here has had a great/positive attitude. I enjoy their Lemon drop martini, and their rotisserie chicken is to die for.... Probably the highlight of their menu, also they have great fiesta eggrolls, and I love their Salmon as well. Only thing that is a bit odd to me are---the Jalapeno's inside of the cornbread. Some people may enjoy it, I just don't. However, that doesn't take away from all the good this place has to offer. Also, this is a very romantic spot, if that's what you're going for, perfect for a date.... Plus, I don't believe I've ever seen children present while dining here. I've been here once years ago, and I thought the food was fine. Nothing noteworthy. It's chain restaurant food. However, it popped up on my door dash search for prime rib around the time the pandemic started. I've ordered delivery several times since from here - mostly for the prime rib. The Prime Rib is pretty consistent and has that salty crust on the outside. It's usually cooked to the requested temperature. The Iron Skillet Cornbread is always good but this last time was a bit spicy with the chunks of jalapeño throughout. It's not a bad thing unless you have a child that wanted to eat it, which we do. New for us with this order was the Roasted Brussels Sprouts app, which was tangy and savory and not soggy as it often is with takeout. We also got the spinach artichoke dip, and it was just decent. Nothing special. Pot pie was surprisingly spicy. Again our child couldn't eat it. I can't review the ambiance or service bc it's been years since we dined in. I will continue to order takeout prime rib from here when I'm craving it bc it's close enough to us that it's still warm when it arrives. If you're ordering from far away and would need to reheat the food, take that into consideration. I usually don't order steaks and meats that would require reheating for fear of drying it out. We had an afternoon reservation on a Saturday for 5. We checked in at the time, and our table was being prepared. There's seating inside at the entrance while you wait for your party to arrive. Staff was amazing from being greeted, to our waitresses (we had 2 as one was in training) as well as other waiters and waitresses. They are sure to make sure all of your needs are met and keep you up to date on your food/drink arrival. The atmosphere is phenomenal. White tablecloth service. Perfect temp inside on a hot day, and there was some outdoor seating if you wanted to enjoy the breeze. Also a bar area in front. Our group ordered across the board - Club chicken salad, Filet marinated salad, Rotisserie Chicken Salad, crab cake sandwich, and meatloaf. We also did two appetizers - calamari and spinach artichoke dip. Drinks- we had the watermelon sangria and the Domain St Michele wine. We loved the sangria!!! The fresh watermelon was a super nice touch. Wine was great too! Everyone enjoyed their meals. Not a request for anything additional was needed. The calamari was perfect, and so was the sauce. The sauce did have some grated cheese, so be sure to ask for that omitted if necessary. Spinach dip is also delicious and was paired with sour cream and salsa to accompany it. We were told we would be seated as soon as the current patrons left and the table could be reset. 20 minutes after our reservation time we were taken to a back room and seated at a table that had been empty since we arrived. Other than that, the food was very good and the server was very attentive. The ribs I got were a full rack, which I did not expect, but they were slightly too spicy for me to eat that many. I like Copper Canyon grill. I used to come here all the time back in the day but some things have changed. I remember they used to have a Rotisserie Chicken Caesar salad on the menu with cornbread croutons, my God I would drive 30 minutes to pick this salad up. That's how good it was to me. Me and all my friends were getting this salad. Of course to some that is too simple. Now they only have a side Caesar (no croutons) and their Rotisserie salad has all this extra stuff in it that doesn't add to the flavor profile for me. Even their cornbread tasted a little different to me, not as mouth watering but maybe I'm just used to pairing it with the Caesar. I still love their Rotisserie Chicken which is delicious. It comes with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. The ambiance is nice, it is always clean and the service is excellent. It's like having multiple servers, they all come past and ask you how you are and if you need anything. I once went to a party in the back of the restaurant which is available to rent. It is spacious and the bathrooms are clean as well. Parking is garage parking or a very select few parking spaces in the front of the building that are never open. They have a warm fire burning outside in case you wanted to wait there for your table. I'd recommend it for a nice date night, bar scene, or small party. read more

I would normally never order a half chicken but it was listed as one of their specialty dishes and my friends said they always order it. I can happily say that it did not disappoint. The chicken was very tender and filled with flavor. The skin was nicely crisped just a little. It was served with a generous portion of skin on mashed potatoes that were so good and a generous serving of long string beans. The green beans were better than expected.
