The manager, Bianca, saved the evening. We had reservations for a for a group of 6 to celebrate a friend's birthday, but the restaurant was experiencing a problem with their air-conditioning. What could have been a totally bad situation turned out favorably when Bianca took control. She made sure the birthday girl had a cake for us all to enjoy. She even covered the food for our friend. Her positive energy in the midst of an uncomfortable situation was a testament to her leadership. In addition, our server, Naphtali, was very patient and attentive. His soft-spoken and peaceful demeanor added to our ability to ultimately have an enjoyable outing. Again, Bianca, thank you so much for all you did to make our evening enjoyable. read more

Came here for brunch with my friend on a Monday. The restaurant wasn't packed but a few were seated in the main dining room and outside patio. We stood at the podium for 10 minutes and servers and the hostess passed us several times without acknowledging us or sitting us. We had a reservation. I ordered the chicken biscuit sandwich and subbed the reg eggs with egg whites. My dish came out great. I loved the spicy sauce it was accompanied by. My friend had the oxtail grits which she's had before and loved it. My rating is mostly for the initial walk on and experience. However, our food and server was good! There's street parking in the area but there's some homelessness in the area and feisty so just be diligent and careful. read more

The food was okay, but there are a couple of things customers should know. First, an 18% service charge is automatically added to the bill. I was told this charge does not go to the waiter but is instead shared with other staff (busser, host, etc.), and that customers are expected to leave an additional tip for the server. I initially left a 20% tip because I did not notice the automatic 18% service charge. To make matters worse, I was initially given the wrong receipt, which added to the confusion. When I realized the service charge had already been included and asked for the extra tip to be removed, the waiter told me he does not receive any portion of the 18% charge. I asked whether the expectation was for customers to leave a total of 38%, and I was told that is how it works at this restaurant and in Washington DC. I found the billing and tipping process confusing and misleading. I won't be back. read more

We went here yesterday and had a great time! The food was so good! I had the oxtail fried rice which was seasoned well and full of flavor! The shrimp deviled eggs were well seasoned and tasty. My sisters tried the blueberry pancakes and the oxtail grits which they said were good and savory. The mac and cheese was just okay. Needed more seasoning. Looking forward to going back and trying more menu items read more

I've been here a few times & really love this place! It does get pretty busy but I've never had to wait long for a table (for two). I love ordering the vegan hash (veggie hash w no egg) & the drinks are pretty good , but definitely over priced. The service is always great & I love supporting this business. Parking can be a little tricky on the weekends, but street parking is free on Sundays. Love the decor, I just wish the bathrooms were better kept. Mimosas -- 7/10 overpriced Cab Calloway -- 7/10 Seafood grits -- 9/10 has a little spice to it! Veggie Hash -- 10/10 super filling Veggie burger -- 8/10 read more

I recently made a reservation at Breakfast Club to catch up with two friends, and while we were offered an early morning slot, the restaurant wasn't as busy as expected. I was a bit annoyed since we could have easily gotten a later reservation. However, we moved past that and had a good experience overall. Our server took great care of us, and we enjoyed the signature Papa Sherman drinks. My friends had steak and eggs and seafood and grits, while I opted for the French toast with bacon and eggs. The ambiance was cool, food/drinks were cool. Overall, we had a great time. read more

Found this place as a lunch spot on my way to my birthday hair appt. I had to try oxtail fried rice because wow what a combination! The menu here has so many showstoppers however so I see myself returning. The dish was huge and tasty, however the oxtails weren't meaty so it felt like I was eating a lot of fat. I'm new to oxtail so not sure if I should have higher expectations? For a midweek afternoon I was surprised to see single men and women filling the small bar. Servers were helpful. Compliments to the chef & interior designer! Go, enjoy!! read more

I've been meaning to come here for some time now because of all the raving reviews, so I'm glad I finally got a reservation! When I've tried to book a reservation in the past, every weekend time slot was booked two to three weeks out - so that shows how popular this restaurant is. While dining in, the area was pretty crowded and also very loud, so if you're looking for a quieter restaurant, this isn't really the place. I did come on a Sunday afternoon, so it may be quieter during the weekday. To start, I ordered the early morning sunrise mocktail, which was really good. I was pretty hungry this day, so I ordered their home fries to munch on before my meal came. They were okay - nothing really special. For my main meal, I ordered the seafood grits, and it was absolutely amazing. I most definitely recommend. They do not skimp when it comes to the seafood! It had lobster, crabmeat, shrimp... all of my faves. I need to return soon because there's a lot of good menu items I would love to try! read more

I really wanted to come here because the dining area was so beautiful in pictures online, but upon arriving we found out there was an 1hr and 45min wait for inside. So we opted to sit outside because they said it was open and immediate seating. And we were on the last day of our vacation and planning to drive home after brunch. After getting sat outside, it took them 20mins to come outside to even speak to us. We immediately ordered since we had plenty of time to decide what we wanted. It then took an hour to get our food... ridiculous. Also, as we are sitting outside there were so many homeless people walking up and yelling at us so that was interesting. One even was coming up and asking people, including us, for money. So definitely do not sit outside if you don't want to deal with being yelled out by random people and forgotten by the wait staff. I would not recommend this place and won't be going back sadly. read more

I recently got to try The Breakfast Club for a friend's birthday, and needless to say this was a one and done experience. I got to our table a few minutes after my friends had already been seated and ordered drinks, which was fine. However, we then proceeded to wait at least 15 minutes before the waiter came back to get our orders. Since we seemed to be of no urgency to our waiter I decided to go to the restroom which I definitely would've thought otherwise if I hadn't had to really go. Holes in the wall, toilet paper on the floor, liquids on the toilet seat, and a bottle of soap with no soap. Not at all what I expect in an establishment serving food with their employees using the same restrooms. We finally got our order placed after having to grab another server to flag down our waiter. One of my friends and I ordered pancakes and french toast so of course syrup would be a nice addition but was not provided. And it seemed as though every waiter tried their best to not make eye contact with us so we could ask for some syrup. I was able to grab us two sticky bottles of syrup from an employee tending the bar. And our waiter seemed to be missing in action after our food was delivered. Now I will say we all thought our meals were good, which at least was a plus. The Breakfast Club adds on an 18% gratuity to all checks with 6 people or less and 20% for more than 6, which I personally believe is why the service is so lackluster. Given the poor service and lack of cleanliness, unfortunately it doesn't matter how good the food may taste I personally don't think I would suggest The Breakfast Club for a dining experience or return for another visit myself. read more

+ delicious French toast and chicken + food was piping hot + friendly waiter +/- good cocktails, but pricey considering they looked basic. Have eaten here once to dine in and 3 times to go. All great experiences ! First thing, parking can be a bit challenging so allow yourself a few minutes if you have reservations. I was lucky enough to find street parking right in front of the restaurant ! The ambience is beautiful with beautiful art and jazz vibes. Service was good. Our server was very attentive and answered all our questions. The food is soulful and full of flavor ! Their Mac and cheese is cheesy, gooey, and decadent! Everything you'd want from a Mac's and cheese. Their shrimp and grits are also divine. So much flavor and love in that dish. My friend had the oxtail hash. She let me try it and It was very tasty. Tender and flavorful. I have not tried any other dishes yet, but I keep ordering their mac and cheese to go! Never disappoints. Would definitely go back! read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. My gf wanted to celebrate her birthday. I was sooo excited and co-signed to this celebratory road trip. I sent my review from previous visit out to give them a snapshot of the greatness to come. Whew... the way I'll never return or promote this establishment again is insane !! We arrived for our 2pm at 1:45pm. The nice young lady at the podium stated we will be seated shortly after 2pm. I watched the table for 7 be cleaned, and set at 2:07pm. For some reason, we were sat until 2:23pm. Nevertheless, we were grateful to be sat 40 minutes later. NEXT, the table literally moved to the best of its own drum. We were greeted by Samantha who was pretty great. Sweet. Since the table was severely not leveled, someone requested assistance. Shortly after, Ms. P who was sweet as sugar previously in passing was sweet no mo. She said, and I quote... "It's just going to keep on doing this, there's nothing we can do about it right now". ... right now! Right now! Then when? We're here now ma'am. I just did an Abbott Elementary stare as I could not believe the audacity. This did not mimick the great customer service rec'd during my last visit to this place. My gf who was celebrating her birthday was so happy to be born, I sat in silence. Please believe I would have grabbed my party of 7 and left w the swiftness if it was my event, but it wasn't. Also, the fact that I could see 2-3 cloth towels under the base of the table proved that at some time, there was something that could have been done about it. Just not for our party of 7. I sat in silence for 12 minutes, and then carried on as normal as I knew this place would never ever ever see me again. Collectively, we ordered the following. Mango Lemonade - Standard. Giggle Juice - Flavorful. Tales of the Caribbean - Extremely well concocted. The Breakfast Club Chicken and Pancakes - The wings were flavored well. Cooked a little harder than necessary. The pancakes were a good size and tasty. Pork Bacon - Standard. Not crispy as requested, but still good. The Collegiate - Lack of flavor on Oxtail. Disappointing. Ate half, left the remaining food there. The Club Omelette - Plentiful, and tasty. Oxtail Fried Rice - Sent back due to temperature after receiving 10 minutes after everyone else's dishes. Extremely bland, needed seasoning. Ate less than half. Left the remaining food there. Oxtail and Grits - Underwhelmed. Needed seasoning. Certainly left more to be desired. Ate less than half. Left the remaining food there. The Breakfast Club Chicken and Waffles - Pretty good. Food 3/5 Customer Service 2/5 I can always excuse a bad kitchen day, but customer service... nah, that's intentional. No excuses! Do better The Breakfast Club !! read more

Food was good but not great. I ordered the chicken biscuit and enjoyed. Partner got a steak that was overcooked when he asked for rare it came out medium well at least. The Breakfast Club, no not the 80s movie classic, no not the nationally syndicated morning show that sold out and went corporate and Netflix, but the Black diaspora sanctuary spot in the heart of Silver Spring off of Fenton Street is where I took my mom to for a brunch on an early Friday afternoon before Mother's Day weekend. It was awesome to see the diversity of the diaspora from the African continent (East and West Africa) the Caribbean/Latin America, and America all in one safe space enjoying themselves without the performative and obnoxiousness from others I would give them that. The Billy Holliday mural and the interior design has a nice sleek, New American vibe. My problem is the service, the cost, and the food although solid, I cooked a brunch the following day myself not to brag (scrambled eggs and cheese, friend potatoes with diced green peppers and onions) that was masterful in comparison to the gingerbread style big ole French toast and fancy "scrambled eggs and cheese" this spot has. The service charge was ridiculous as my mom's bill was 70 plus bucks for just the seafood shrimp and grits which was nice, a very sweet pre-diabetic lemonade, and bread pudding that was like bougie Georgetown prices with the dominant culture. I paid 40 dollars (Hairstylist from Baby Boy!) for French toast, scrambled eggs with cheese and lemonade. The food is nice and all but nothing to die for. We came for the vibe, culture, and atmosphere also, but we do prefer the chains of Dennys and I-hop if I am not doing the cooking which is most of the time. The server would dirty mack and take a while flirting with women at the bar and playing around with staff, and I had to give a clinical gaze with my glasses and hand signal for him to return. We did ask up front about service charge and gratuity included from the beginning but they have a very Southern slow pace here that I agree with others and I am a very patient man and notice that. It can take a while to get your checks, get change, just other tasks that you would think would be handled more efficiently. The place attracts the social media crowd, with professional pictures, the glitz, the glamor the Hollywood red carpet of the DMV, but the structural integrity of the pricing, service, and experience needs to step its game up in the worst way. We certainly see this place being a bit turned up and precarious in later hours. The closest parking that is reliable enough is the Safeway garage so it is not the most convenient, where as at least Matchbox has the Wayne and Colesville garages to park at and then enter. It was nice to support the Black owned establishment but it is a 1 and done spot. Majic 102.3 put in the hype a couple of years ago, but I found the truth, no thanks, it is a performative culture that still has that ole Georgia Ave. street culture. read more

The breakfast club was like my right hand my entire pregnancy and has remained a warm favorite postpartum. I have had just about everything on the menu lol and I have never been disappointed. My favorite dishes: Seafood fried rice- the mild is spicy so if you aren't one who does spice well, Id opt out, I love it. The plain is just as good! But it is LOADED with seafood. It's worth the price and full of flavor! Seafood and oxtail grits, CHEFS KISS. The fenton street wings The donut ice cream and sandwich is something to write home about weekly, think warm skinny brioche donut with just the right amount if caramel and vanilla ice cream. I literally could have it once a week whew. Im not a dessert girl but THIS, is IT. read more

We met up next door and decided to come here to grub. Even in the afternoon this place had a nice crowd, lucky for us the bar was empty. It was my first time, and man... they do have a nice selection of bites! I was off-put by their 3 appetizers costing ~$20 each... my word. 6 wings, $20! At least give us 8 for an almost entree price point. Anyways, we ordered the Fenton street wings, oxtail & grits, and breakfast club burger. The wings were fried well how I like them, sweet and savory. We had ranch and blue cheese on the side. The burger was decent, it was not medium as asked and she said it could use a little more seasoning but overall satisfactory. The grits were cooked well, pretty smooth. The oxtail was really fatty, didn't have much meat and the meat was chewy/tough. I liked the dish concept as I'm a big fan of shrimp & grits and the gravy that comes with that. The service was just OK, the crew was nice and friendly. I would return to try some other items read more

The resturant is beautiful there was only 3 other people seated when my party of 5 came in. It took about 15/20 min before someone asked what we wanted to drink. By then we were hungry and thirsty and put everything in at once. We require a Caesar salad which normally would come before the mean but it came with everything else. The salad was . . . Disgusting. It was more mayonnaise than Caesar and more cheese than lettuce. They added eggs on top which just didn't give it the greatest look or make much sense. Less dressing more romaine lettuce not iceberg not as much cheese are the improvements. It took about 45min to 50 min to get our main course from the time we ordered but all the food came out very hot and fresh. French toast and chicken perfection! Steak and eggs with potatoes phenomenal. Shrimp and grits, just needed a bit more Cajun/seafood seasoning to it. The branzino, fried rice, and broccolini delicious. The mac and cheese was very good. They didn't have sweet tea or unsweetened tea or Coke Zero which sucked but it does save you calories !! The main issue is the automatic gratuity of 18% and a 3% card fee. The prices are pretty up there already there is no reason to charge a card fee it's a bit excessive and unnecessary. read more

I'm in between 3.5 and 4 stars for this place. The music was really good and not too loud where I couldn't hear myself think. We had an hour wait and I was hoping it was worth it, it wasn't bad....but. Our servers were great, shoutout to Ms. P. But we ordered the lamb chops which came out with our other entrees but not with the seafood Mac and cheese as a side. That seafood Mac and cheese (the main reason we came btw, came about 40 minutes AFTER the main course). I didn't even get to taste it because I was full and over the wait. We ended up getting it to go. Due to this mishap, they did comp the seafood Mac and cheese, so that was nice. They also were nice enough to give us some complementary tequila shots for this error. That was really nice! On another note, my oxtail fried rice was pretty good. The oxtail was falling off the bone. The fried rice has way too many eggs in it, but it was solid otherwise. I do with I could just order the oxtail solo from the fried rice (the other option is with grits, but oxtail by itself is sometimes all you need). The wings were really delicious (clearly because I couldn't even get q picture of all 6 before taking a bite). They need to feature that at every point in the menu, but it was a great appetizer! I do think I'd give them another try! read more

I had high expectations after reading some reviews and seeing the online description of this place as an "upscale" restaurant. While I did find the food to be enjoyable and the ambiance decent, I was a bit disappointed that the experience didn't quite match the upscale vibe I was hoping for. Small details like lint-filled linens, a floor in need of repairs, and sticky menus contributed to that feeling. We ordered chicken and waffles and an omelet with toast. Again, tasty, but overpriced for sure. I was also quite taken aback by the 18% gratuity already added to the bill when it arrived. They also ask for a tip, so you must be careful not to tip twice. read more

The food was very tasty, but I think we went too close to closing time. The wrong time was listed so while we thought we had two hours, we really had one hour to order and be served. The shrimp was pretty tasty but needed just a little more space/salt. I really enjoyed the fried chicken thigh and French toast. The venue is super cute in the heart of downtown Silver Spring. Hubby and I came here for brunch on a Sunday with another couple of friends. Hubby ordered their vanilla bean French toast and I ordered their omelette with added lobster. Balance came out to approximately $54. What's hot - Quality. Excellent. My omelette was delicious. It had a good amount of fillings of vegetables, and the additional lobster I ordered. No skimping. The sauce on the omelette had a wonderful kick, similar to Cajun with a very slightly spicy kick. It went nicely with everything. My husband's French toast was thick and substantive. Our friend's chocolate chip pancakes were good. She said it had whipped cream, rather than a slab of butter on top of her pancakes, which she preferred. Her husband's fried chicken was tender and not overly battered. - Location. Fairly easy to find with many other businesses on the area. Convenient. - Automatic gratuity. There's an 18% service charge included in every balance, which is listed on the bottom of their menu. I appreciate that it's disclosed on their menu, rather than surprised on us at the time we pay our tab. What's not - Service. Lacking. First, the other couple who was with us ended up getting their orders first. Nothing wrong with that. The orders for my husband and I came out well over 10 minutes later. We had to ask for an update on our orders, while we were waiting, and no one provided us with one. Second, when the host seated us, he told us there is a 90 minute seating time. He didn't explain to us what that meant. I asked the waiter who took our order what that meant. Specifically, I asked him if we'll get kicked out if we take more than 90 minutes, to which he responded no, and he did not know anything about a 90 minute seating time. Not customer service friendly. - Pictures. They have a staffer going around and taking pictures of diners. I asked the gentleman if he was taking pictures for their website. Turns out he returns with the pictures framed and tries charging you $20 for each picture. Had we known of this, we wouldn't have taken the pictures to begin with. This type of activity should be disclosed in the beginning, rather than asking us to take pictures without knowing the purpose. - Acoustics. Terrible. First, they play music really loudly- too loud to carry a conversation even with a small table of 4. Second, around noon, they had a live singer, who had difficulty managing her sound with the speaker. That meant her speaker kept going in and out with static noise. Everything was so loud. This is a restaurant, not a bar, club, or lounge. I did not come for the sound, but for sharing good food with others and have a conversation. The ambiance and acoustics do not allow for that. - Parking. There is parking in the area, which is a combination of paid and unpaid. - Credit card charge. To be fair, the credit charge is listed on the bottom of their menu. However, be aware there is a 3% additional charge if you use a credit card. - Price. Value for food is excellent value, but in combination with the aforementioned negatives, not good value for money. Final answer Given the service and ambiance/acoustics, do not plan on returning, nor would I recommend. read more

The Breakfast Club has a great location and decent décor. I loved the menu selections and how the brunch offers traditional favorites with a Caribbean flair. The food and the drinks are a solid 4, but the customer service unfortunately was a 2 or 3 at best. The hostess was very mean and stern, making it very clear that she was about doing the bare minimum. The menus at our table were sticky and icky, making me wonder what else they failed to wipe down. No one was answering the phone when we called to say we would be a few minutes late. We were a party of 3 and the waitress managed to bring everyone's food out in a timely manner, but mysteriously kept forgetting my best friend's food and her mocktail. At first, we just thought that the waitress was busy and perhaps got distracted, but when it happened a 2nd time with her beverage, it definitely brought the dining experience down. We are trying to wait for her food to come, before we start eating. The waitress was very nonchalant and barely apologetic about this. Why, because the gratuity is added in automatically at 18%. I enjoyed the French 75 cocktail and the tender and plentiful oxtails with fried rice. I took home the bread pudding served with vanilla ice cream, which was very good and the portion was large enough for two people. Based upon our experience, we don't see ourselves coming back, it's unfortunate to have a nice establishment like The Breakfast Club that will only go as far as it treats its customers. read more

My overall dining experience at The Breakfast Club was great. I will say service could be improved in some aspects (i.e they forgot to bring my potatoes) but overall I enjoyed everything. It was also pretty busy, so I am giving them grace. I ordered the seafood and grits, which did not skimp on the seafood!! I had a piece of crab, lobster, or shrimp with every bite. I also love a lot of sauce and this was the perfect amount and had a hint of spice. The grits were also creamy. I will definitely be back for more! Everyone has been telling me that The Breakfast Club is a must-visit when you're in Silver Spring, so this weekend I had a chance to go with my coworker. I found parking right in front of the restaurant, which is metered but I didn't end up paying. When I arrived I told the hostesses I was waiting for someone to arrive. I was seated but was told our 90-minute dining time would start. I mentioned they were close by and as I was going to go back to wait by the door, the gentleman said it was ok and seated me without worrying about time. The ambiance was modern with a sense of flair, and the Billie Holiday painting was breathtaking. I already knew going in I was ordering the oxtail and grits, and I never even thought or heard of that combination before. I ordered the Tales of the Caribbean to drink and the Fenton Street wings to start. My coworker also ordered a drink and appetizer, along with her entree. Where the confusion occurred is when a different waiter brought out my entree first, and then someone else brought out their drink. We both looked at each other in disbelief. After some time, I was able to waive our waiter down and let him know what happened. He rushed to the back and brought out my drink (which he said had been sitting there) and then the rest of our orders came out. Tales of the Caribbean is a drink bursting with flavor, as the aged rum, coconut rum, orange bitters, mango, pineapple, allspice, cinnamon, and ginger create a sophisticated cocktail experience. The wings were disproportionately sized, as the first 4 were your normal-sized buffalo wings, but the last 2 were gigantic drums. The flavor from the sauce was out of this world, and the wings were cooked and crispy beautifully. The oxtail and grits lived up to the hype. The oxtail gravy mixed in with the grits introduced me to a flavor I never knew I needed in my life. The oxtail was bone-in, but the meat was tender and flavorful. Of course, some were more meatier than others, but I found the portion to be generous. Overall I enjoyed my visit and will certainly be back to try other items. read more

The chicken are definitely large pieces. There is good crunch but something is missing for me with the chicken. My wife enjoyed the oxtail as they give you a good portion. The Breakfast Club in Silver Spring ended up being a pleasant surprise and a solid brunch spot. We went around 1:00 PM on a Saturday and were finished by about 2:30 PM. One small hiccup at the start was that Google showed the restaurant as closed when it was actually open, which was a bit confusing. We originally planned to go to Society Restaurant and Bar, but they were closed due to basement renovations for the next couple of months. Luckily, a local Silver Spring resident let us know that The Breakfast Club was open, and we are glad they did. When we arrived, we were greeted at the door and asked if we had reservations. We didn't, but we were seated right away at a table for two. The restaurant wasn't busy at all and had a very calm, relaxed vibe, which made for an enjoyable brunch experience. We started with the Fenton Street wings, which came with six pieces and were so good. The Uncle J's sauce was a standout with a perfect sweet and savory combination that honestly had me wishing we ordered more. The wings were fried to perfection with a nice crispy crunch on the outside while staying juicy on the inside. I meant to take a photo, but they disappeared way too fast. I ordered the chicken biscuit sandwich with scrambled eggs and cheese. The biscuit itself was incredibly tender and fluffy, and it came with crispy potatoes that rounded out the meal nicely. However, the sandwich also came with a Cajun cream butter sauce that was extremely salty, which took away from the overall balance of the dish. My boyfriend had The Collegiate, a skillet hash with crispy potatoes, oxtails on top, and scrambled eggs with cheese. It was savory, hearty, and very satisfying. I also ordered a drink called The Great Gatsby with cognac and tequila. It was really good, well balanced, and the garnish was aesthetically pleasing. Our server, Jas, was very sweet and had great energy. While she didn't check on us as often as we would have liked, the service was still good overall and did not take away from the experience. Between the calm atmosphere, flavorful food, and solid drinks, The Breakfast Club is definitely worth checking out if you are in the Silver Spring area. Just a heads up to double check their hours if Google says they are closed. read more

First time visiting The Breakfast Club in Silver Spring, and everything was amazing. I visited on Easter Sunday with a group of friends, so it was a little busy. The bartender also served as our waitress, so service was a little slow, but I didn't have any issues although a few of the people in my party did have to wait a bit for drinks and food. I also had a couple of friends who asked for their food to be warmed up after it came to the table. We shared the Fenton Street Wings, and they were delicious. Uncle J's signature sauce was the perfect mix of sweet, and tangy. I will definitely order the wings again. My group also shared the Shrimp Deviled Eggs which were okay. Nothing too spectacular in my book. I ordered the Seafood Grits for my main course, and it was perfectly seasoned, plentiful, and filled with seafood (crab, shrimp, and a few lobster pieces)....a seafood lovers dream. The grits were also perfectly prepared, and not overly cheesy. I believe that I had the Mint Prohibition for my drink, and it was okay. There was quite a bit of ice, so the drink watered down quickly. I also wish that I could've tasted more of the flavors (mint, sparking rose, etc). The venue was an interesting setup with us sitting in the center of the restaurant, but I had no complaints. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and will go again when I'm in the area. read more

I've been here several times, and let me tell you--the seafood grits always hit! It has me in a chokehold, and I just can't bring myself to order anything else (but seriously, no regrets). This time, I came for my sister-in-law's birthday, which gave me the perfect excuse to try something other than my usual (though, let's be real--I still ordered the seafood grits for myself lol). Let's get into it: *Shrimp Deviled Eggs - Really good! But they only give you half a shrimp on top instead of a whole one (a little skimpy, but still tasty). *Wings - 10/10, would order again! *Mac & Cheese - At first glance, it looked like the blue-box Kraft version, but surprisingly, it was really good. *Oxtail Grits - Just okay--not my favorite, but not bad. *French Toast - Delicious and full of flavor (as expected). *Bread Pudding - Really, really good--definitely worth ordering! Drinks: I had the Great Gatsby--delicious and definitely spirit-forward. My sister-in-law had the strawberry margarita, which was also really good. Final Thoughts: Great food, great service--especially considering we had a large party. One tip: make a reservation because the place is small, and walk-ins might not get seated. Can't wait for my next visit... and yes, I'll probably order the seafood grits again. read more

They definitely have a unique menu. The wings were VERY good, flavorful crispy and delicious flavor. The oxtail fried rice was a large portion, they also gave me a lot of oxtail. However, one of my friends had gotten the seafood fried rice which I tried, it was kind of dry. But another friend had the seafood grits, which I tried and was my favorite item from this afternoon. The service was left to be desired. And the restaurant was super cold inside. read more
