Delicious gourmet sandwiches - the March monthly special veggie sandwich, The Truth hit the spot! The sandwich shop is tucked inside The Gatsby hotel with only indoor solo seating on cozy bar stools with a window view and some outdoor seating in front of the stadium. It's primarily a take-out shop with a dozen or sandwiches and a few sides. The Truth veggie sandwich was bursting with flavor with sweet potato, crispy eggplant, juicy portobello mushoroom, and creamy lentil aioli stuffed between whole wheat bread. It was so good that I didn't even miss not cheese! Initially, I thought about adding cheese, but glad I didn't and stuck with the classic sandwich. By the time I made it through a couple of bites of the 2nd half of my sandwich, I was stuffed and didn't have any room or a craving for chips or fries that I typically get. It was a simple sandwich with quality ingredients made well. This is honestly the BEST reuben I have ever had!! Im a loyay Parkway Deli customer and I always get their reuben. This puts Parkway to shame! Unlike most places that slice their meat, this is more chopped for lack of a better descriptor. And it makes all the difference. Its perfectly seasoned and so moist and tender, it almost melts on the tongue. The bread is delicious too, as is the chocolate egg cream! Do yourself a favor and go!! It was very good, the brisket was good and the bread worked well with dip. The sandwich price wasn't bad but a can of soda was $3. I probably would get something to drink elsewhere if you're thirsty. Definitely a spot to check out if you are in the mood for a good deli sandwich. We got a Rueben sandwich and Italian beef sandwich. We did an online order service was quick and easy. It is a little difficult to find a spot to park to pick up but definitely doable. Italian beef was ok but the Rueben was my favorite. The giardiniera in the Italian could have been a little better but still a good sandwich. Now the Rueben I enjoyed it was perfect. I will for sure be coming back to try more things on the menu. Came for dinner on a Tuesday night around 7pm. The place was totally empty so service was quick and easy. Ordered marks mash up which is basically a BLT with chicken, avocado, and roasted red pepper on challah bread. Super delicious and decent portion size. The chicken was surprisingly moist. To drink I had a non alcoholic peach mint spritz -- delicious! A sweet bubbly treat that paired nice with the sandwich. The set up is like a cafe and counter service style though the person on staff that night did bring over my sandwich and drink to me while I was seated waiting. Unsure if that's the norm or because me and my friend were the only ones there. Really friendly and speedy service regardless! They play fun pop music but the vibe is a little sterile for a deli and missing some character. A sandwich and drink was about ~20 which for DC is fairly normal but felt pricey for a "deli." This location used to be a cafe and it doesn't look like they changed the set up. It works for what it is but gives off more of a grab and go vibe. Wish I had gotten a sweet treat. I think they're listed on the menu but I didn't see any on display so forgot. A cookie would've gone great with the sammy! Great new Jewish Deli across from Nats Park! My wife and I went before a game and got The Papa Eddie and an Italian Beef special as well as potato salad, a coffee drink, and a beer. Right across the street from Nationals Park is Beresovsky's Deli, a deli that serves large sandwiches for under $15. Meeting a friend for lunch, I ordered the "Herbert's Fave" with pastrami, slaw, and mustard on marble rye. It was very filling, messy, and tasty! I added a soda and chips making my bill just under $20. There are a few window seats inside, but the main seating is outside. I recently went to Beresovsky's Deli before a weeknight Nationals game to get a pastrami sandwich as I had heard that it had opened in the last couple months. The first thing I noticed is that the entrance closest to the register and the metro station is blocked off, forcing customers to go around to the entrance of The Gatsby next door. Beresovsky's Deli is extremely plain, with no decorations and only a few stools by the window. When I arrived, there was no one behind the counter-I ordered off a computer screen and several things weren't available. The undecorated walls and no interaction with anyone behind the counter immensely detracted from the experience as these are core parts of any deli. Despite there only being two orders in front of me, it took 10 minutes to get my pastrami sandwich. While Beresovsky's Deli reasonable priced their pastrami sandwich ($13), I quickly found out why, as more than half the filling was coleslaw and not pastrami. The little pastrami I had in my sandwich was delicious-some of the best pastrami I've had in DC. However, the coleslaw overwhelmed the meat and needed to be on the side. Additionally, I did not get a complementary pickle on the side, which is essential with a pastrami sandwich. I'm glad I tried the sandwich and Beresovsky's but will go elsewhere for a pastrami sandwich in the future. read more

Jewish-ish deli: a couple of the sandwiches have bacon on them :p this is not Second Avenue Deli but it seems like a nice addition to the area. Prices are very reasonable for the sandwiches. The "Marc's Mashup" was really good. With bacon haha. It's basically a chicken club with roasted red pepper added and on challah. Very tasty, I recommend. The brisket isn't the beeeest ever but the sandwich was a huge and a good value. The perogis and knish are good too. Again, not the planet's best but enjoyable. Good service and sandwich but "pickle" is just a slightly dilly cucumber. Also frustrated that we still can't use the door closest to the counter. Some colleagues and I went for lunch today. I got Herbert's Fave with a pickle on the side. The sandwich was delicious: plenty of filling, very tender pastrami, nice bread, and just the right amount of grease. Very filling without being gratuitous. Price feels reasonable for the amount of meat and the homemade bread. A major flub related to their first week is the "pickle". It's still just a crunchy cucumber with a hint of brine and dill. These are not ready for prime time--especially for the extra charge of $1.49. I expect that's related to just opening, but that's no excuse, especially for a deli. The brownies smelled and looked good, but be aware that the black and white cookies looked more like nibbles with how small they are. Why?? That and the pickle feel like dumb, fundamental unforced errors. Still worth going, just isn't up to snuff at this point and what I expect from this brand. read more

Usually I love this place. Just had a 1 star sando though so dropping some feedback. I order gluten free sandwiches and the bread is usually toasted so nice, sandwich wrapped so neatly, it's a delicious experience. However this time I was given a to-go box with raw GF bread and ingredients. Raw, cold GF bread falls apart easy, doesn't taste so good, dissolves in the dip so I couldn't use the dip. gahhhhhdawmmmm - dc may have 4,000 Mediterranean restaurants and 2,500 Ethiopian spots, but you know what they don't have?!? simple nyc style delis. why? why. - beresvoskys is absolutely filling a culinary void. maybe once this place gains popularity, it'll start a movement of new delis & perhaps begin to charge what actual classic oldschool nyc delis charge - my only qualm is that they don't list the price of their specials and this sandwich was $17.... other sandwiches are $13-15, but this is not the cheap casual deli it needs to be - okay okay okay let's talk about the MEAT. when people say meat can melt in your mouth....they meant this meat. this pastrami was expertly charred on the edges while still being the softest most tender slices I've ever hard. using a fork you couldn't even pick up the meat as it fell apart at the touch - horseradish sauce side was a great size, perfect combo of that ridiculous tang and creamy cool flavor - I ordered just a 1/2 lb of pastrami for $8. it was stunning, juicy, and I can't name another place in dc proper with this type of menu options read more

The food was below par and nothing like a good Jewish deli. We ordered on Uber eats and the restaurant didn't do what we asked as we wanted the mustard and Russian dressing on the side. The pastrami was disgusting and the matzah ball in the soup was about 1 1/2 inches wide and the price was steep for what we got. We ordered from a hotel and they sent the meal without the utensils we asked for. Both the service and meal were awful. Find a different place to eat. read more

I was so excited to find out that a NYC-style Jewish deli was coming to Navy Yard. KNEAD knocked it out of the park with Beresovsky's. Having dietary restrictions, it was such a relief that to find you order through a touch pad, because I hate having to micromanage my order so I don't get sick. I'm writing this with recognizance of it being day 2 of their operations. That being said, my NY-raised girlfriend and I had some issues: -Pickle: cucumber with a bare hint of brine -Matzoh Ball soup: the shredded chicken in the soup was TOUGH. Leathery. -Chicken Salad: Extremely wet. Very dill-forward, which leads me to believe that the salad stole the dill from the pickle brine. -The Bagel: The menu touts these as being "from the Bronx". Whether or not we are meant to take that literally, our everything bagel resembled a grocery store bagel in texture and taste. And I think the gulf between the menu's promise and the reality is particularly galling such that they get a 2 and not a 3 star. So why 2 stars instead of 0? -Matzoh Ball Soup: everything outside of the shredded chicken was pretty good. If it is possible to get it without the chicken, I would recommend that course of action. -Potato Knish: No complaints whatsoever. You get 2 medium sized knishes with an order, which was great for sharing between the two of us. -Brisket Sandwich: they do not skimp on the meat, similar roll to what they use at Cornercopia, and it's a pretty good sized sandwich. I just wish there was a little more horseradish, it's very subtle. I'll be back to try the beverages, the Egg Cream in particular. But man, I can't say it's not a little disappointing on our first outing. If they improve on those pain points, I'd be there every week. read more

Fantastic sandwiches and service! We went the second day they were open. After waiting only about 10 minutes for a large order, they offered us a free flavored coffee for the wait even though we didn't think it was long. The sandwiches were divine - we got a pastrami Reuben that had the perfect balance of sauce to make it flavorful without falling apart. We also got a Papa Eddie and that was super good with a fresh, soft roll. The homemade apple sauce was great, and though the latkes were not the best I've had, they were decent. The massive amounts of meat on our sandwiches were surprising given the low prices. We will absolutely be back and are excited for this new spot!! For the one negative reviewer complaining about the pickles - they are half sours... and taste exactly like you would expect from a half sour. read more

I had seen a revue praising this venue and since I love Jewish Deli food my anticipation was high. I'll have to say I was very disappointed. This is NOT a Jewish Deli only a fast food joint with a nod to a few traditional dishes and sandwiches. I ordered a customized Reuben substituting pastrami for corned beef and coleslaw for sauerkraut. They gave me corned beef but did switch coleslaw for the sauerkraut. Their beer selection was meager so I had a Dr. Brown's black cherry soda. My friend had latkes which were small, soggy and greasy. As for ambiance they have a few stools inside but since it was a nice day we ate at the outside dining tables. Being near the ball park and a whole strip of bars and restaurants the noise was almost unbearable. I will not be back. If you want Jewish Deli food go to Parkway Deli in Silver Spring or go to Corned Beef Row, Lombard Street in Baltimore. read more

Hi, decided to have lunch in DC prior to going to the Nats game this past Sunday. I found this deli right across the street from the main gate at the stadium so it was definitely convenient when I went in and looked at the menu on the wall, it reminded me of being in a New York deli. I grew up outside of New York so I have missed NY deli's. I ordered the pastrami on marble rye bread along with a side order of potato salad. The service was excellent. This is definitely a go to place prior to a game. Because they get you in and out of there in no time. The food was perfect. The pastrami was of high-quality and everything about the sandwich was great. Even the potato salad tasted better than most I've had. I will definitely return soon. read more

Allowing for newness,meat is improperly cut. Pastrami is properly cut against the grain of the meat. Mine was cut with the grain, which creates ropey texture. Hope managers can get things right in future -- since they have a promising concept. Good pastrami needs attentive care. read more

As someone who was raised on Jewish delis, I would give this zero stars if I could. I ordered the matzo ball soup and Ruben with pastrami instead of corned beef. The matzo ball soup had a giant chunk of an unidentifiable chicken part which was littered with black dots (see photo below). It was disgusting and I refused to eat the rest of the soup. The pastrami was cut into very odd long but thick strips; I've never seen pastrami cut like this before. It was tough, chewy, and flavorless. Since this was an Uber Eats order and I was unable to complain directly, I did write in to the so-called deli. Haven't heard anything back from them. This self proclaimed Jewish deli I does not live up to its promise of being a good Jewish deli to open up in DC. What a disappointment. read more

Service was very pleasant and helpful. They even brought my sandwich to out at the outside tables - very nice. But the Reuben was really not good. Very very fatty and not much flavor. The whole thing was kind of gushy tho the cheese was not melted. And potato salad had no flavor at all. I will try them again, but the food needs to improve. Not even in the same conversation, let alone the same league, as the great delicatessens of Los Angeles or New York. I was so hopeful, but this deli is so-so for a deli, but a far cry from a New York style kosher deli. For example, I ordered a potato knish that for some strange reason had chicken in it!? It was not a good knish at all, sadly, and why would there be chicken in it? Also, it came with a packet each of mayo and cream cheese (cream cheese?!?), but not the traditional mustard. Excellent service and food right off the bat (no pun intended) on their opening day and the Nats opening day. We completely enjoyed the pastrami sandwich and chicken salad sandwich and split a knish. Beresovsky's has been open for a week and a half and I've been there about a half dozen times already. There is a growth curve for any new restaurant, but the management and staff has always been kind, and their food is fantastic! Angela's 50/50 is my breakfast/brunch bagel go to, and the Papa Eddy is my favorite dinner sandwich I've had so far, but everything is tasty. The matzos ball soup, knish, and pierogies are wonderful as well. Will keep trying more of the menu, but had to give this place the love it deserves! read more
