Margherita Pizza

Honestly for the price, I don't know if 2 Amy's is worth it.... I hate to say it! The reviews are so great and rave about the pizza, but genuinely I can't fathom spending $24 on a ten inch Neapolitan pizza. It is crazy to me! Maybe it's because I'm from a small town where a 24 inch pizza is $20, but yikes... Don't get me wrong, the pizza is good. We got it to go. It was definitely soggy but also burned at the same time? I don't know. All the toppings kept falling off unfortunately because of how floppy the dough was! Again, tasty, but messy. Our to go order was fast and the service was good at the to go counter! The actual restaurant is a bit small and crowded, but probably nice for a quick eat with family. Again, it tasted good, but I think you can find better Neapolitan pizza in DC (and for a better price).

Quite popular neighborhood gem serving pizzas. Family friendly, with sippy cups and crayons for the young 'uns. We got the piggy rilletes for apps and the pizza puzzouli. The pizza was knock your socks off spicy so we had to get a second pizza (a margherita). They have a bar with affrodable wines and cocktails. Good casual note out.

Made a last minute decision to stop here for pizza as we drove by and was pleased with my experience. The seating is broken up into 3 areas, bar seating, the second floor which is much more intimate and quiet, or the ground floor where you're exposed to the open kitchen. The service was lovely. The wait staff was super responsive and cared for our every need. We ordered 2 pizzas and some meatballs. The meatballs were a charred a little too heavily for my liking and were a little bit dry. The pizza was solid though. It had a very good balance of sauce to cheese to crust.

Pro tip: ask the host to seat you upstairs if you want a more quiet and intimate setting. The food was delicious! I love how small the menu is-- I often suffer from decision fatigue if the menu is too long.

A perfect cocktail to start the evening.

Continues to be the best Neapolitan pizza in town. Don't skip the small plates. They are amazing. Never disappoints.

I thought I would give this place a try for two reasons. 1) This is a non-tipping establishment, where gratuities are included, which is good since I personally and very strongly dislike tipping culture. 2) The reviews were good, too. I only tried the Margherita pizza, since I think it's always a good start to judging the quality of the pizza, and I wasn't disappointed! The sauce and toppings were flavorful, the crust was a bit chewy with a bit of a crunch, and the pizza itself wasn't soggy. I also had a beer. I think they have a decent beer list, but I would hope to see more stouts in the future on top of what they already have! Otherwise, all else was good and I'm sure I'll eventually be back in the future to try another pizza flavor and maybe a dessert this time. My eating experience here "almost" made me feel as if I was eating at a restaurant somewhere in Europe for about an hour, between the no mandatory tipping policy and the laid back vibe of the place. I personally hope that this will be the future of eating out in the US, which I think is many years overdue. The only thing I wish they'd do is include the tax in the published price. Overall, I give this restaurant a recommend!

I've lived in DC for three years, and 2 Amys has and will always be the first restaurant I recommend to anyone in the area. I love this place. 2 Amys has incredible Neapolitan-style pizzas that come right from the oven to your plate -- tear-apart hot, fire-blistered but chewy dough, savory olive oil and herbs, incredible toppings -- but what really shines about this small restaurant is its incredible seasonal-inspired menu. Check them out on Instagram to see what they're doing, but expect something creative -- I've had an assortment of sardines, salads, fried meat ball things that I forget the name of because I'm not Italian, porchetta (such amazing porchetta!), and homemade ice creams. Also, beautiful ambiance -- warm and inviting with excellent decor. Everyone who works there has the kindest heart -- moreover -- and even though there aren't reservations the kitchen and server staff are efficient and will get you seated as soon as they can, as long as you're as polite to them as they are to you. I'm moving in a couple months and it makes me sad to leave this place behind -- I feel like I'm eating dinner in someone's home when I'm here.

This is my second time coming to 2Amy's. Both times I've been, it has been packed inside. I managed to find a seat at the bar by myself. A 20% service charge is included in the price, so there is no tipping. The service both times has been okay, nothing to write home about. I ordered: A glass of colpetrone Sardines with bread, butter and olive oil: at first it didn't sound like much, but I really enjoyed it. It is one of the best appetizers I've had in D.C. The salty sardines, butter, and bread complimented each other so well. 9/10. Etna 2.0 pizza: this pizza had smoked mozzarella di bufalo, fried eggplant, pine nuts, parsley, and tomato sauce. It is one of the best pizzas I've had in my life. All the ingredients went together perfectly, and the crust was crispy and chewy. 10/10. The last time I came, I ordered the Calabrese pizza, which came with olives and sardines. It was way too salty for my taste. I wouldn't order it again. Overall, I love this chill, neighborhood Italian restaurant. I will definitely be back. 4.5/5 stars.

2 Margherita Pizzas

A few friends and I went out for lunch, and we were not disappointed. First, the ambiance was spectacular. It had a relaxed, classic vibe that I found truly charming. Second, the pizza was as fresh as it gets. The mozzarella was on point, the sauce was perfect, and the crust was the best I've ever had. Airy, crispy, and perfectly light. Absolutely astounding. Lastly, the service was excellent. The waiter was very friendly, the pizza came out quickly, and we were seated immediately. It's a MUST if you're looking for delicious pizza near the National Cathedral.

Pizzas: 8.5/10, super thin, tasty pizzas with unique toppings like eggplant and rapini; I like a crispier bottom and due to the toppings it did get soggy pretty quick Meatballs: 9/10, flavorful with tangy tomato sauce, just wish the bread crust was softer, especially since I went with my grandparents Mixed greens salad: 5/10, the dressing was overly sour and it was a pretty overpriced salad with no toppings for $10 It's a nice place to stop for lunch if you're in the National Cathedral area! It's pretty bustling, although there was no line during Sunday lunch.

Expect a wait when you arrive! We came on a Friday evening and were told a 45 minute wait. Though you have the option of waiting at the bar, it is a small area and was already crowded so our only option was to wait outside. Be sure to dress warm, although we were, towards the end of out wait, my feet were starting to get very cold. Inside is small, busy, tables are seated close together and the dining room floor is hustling and bustling. We were brought here by our friends who rave about this place and they had every right to. We started with two orders of suppli which is a fried risotto ball stuffed with mozzarella, these had a perfectly crisp outside with a soft, tender inside, but be careful, they're hot hot! Tip: order a side of their tomato sauce to dip, it's so good you can drink it. For our entrees our party ordered primarily pizza with the exception of myself. The Pozzuoli with sausage and peppers had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. I opted for a stuffed calzone - the ripieno basilico with ricotta, mozzarella, pesto and tomato. It was all the flavor combinations my Italian self drools over. It was well stuffed with each of the cheeses and you can taste the flavor combination of each of them, the pesto was also very tasteful. I will say, this filled me up very quickly, so I took this for left overs and thought it tasted even better in the following days to come.

Really good food. I love the feeling inside, very busy and cozy with no annoying music playing over people talking. Service was really good. The pizzas were the highlight of the meal of course, but our salad and small bites were also surprisingly good. Loved the ice cream that came with the cake for dessert. Will visit again.

2 Amy's is the OG of Neapolitan Pizza in DC, and though it's no longer the only pie in town, the food still never disappoints. The very simple menu helps them keep the quality high -- just a few salads and starters, plus a dozen or so creative pizzas. Aesthetics are also a big part of this restaurant's success. The dining room is beautiful and intimate and bustling, but the tile floor, tile walls, tin ceiling, and close together tables combine to create 82 decibels of noise -- far too loud for a comfortable conversation. If you don't want to shout, or be a part of a superspreader event, then try to get a table outside on the covered patio, it's highly recommended.

Not worth the price. Mediocre pizza, small portions of everything. Cannolis were weird. I wouldn't eat here again or recommend this spot.

2 Amys has a great menu. Just about everything hits. The pizza can be too saucy at times, but it still tastes great.

Good food and wine and service. Really like the bar area. It's gotten less trendy over the years, which is a good thing.

That month I had started Uber driving, was in this area of DC, had heard good things about Wiseguy, and decided to eat here. Although I don't like paying to park just to simply eat a meal, I sometimes will make an exception for convenience and/or if it's a place I really want to go. But for the most part, I'll go to restaurant where they have free parking or at least I can find free parking near the restaurant. I remembered getting a parking spot very close and feel like I feed the meter like 50 cents in 2014 parking prices for a quick 30 minute meal. They have all kinds of varieties of slices from the standard toppings or just cheese to fancy ones. Although the pizza is fairly thin, but average for New York style pizza. I tried Andy's Pizza 11 years later in 2025, and while it was solid although not as good as Wiseguy, my real complaint with Andy's was that the pizza is very thin, where I was hungry very soon later; so a much worse value as pricing is comparable to Wiseguy. Wiseguy slices are big, and the pizza is top notch New York style. I went to this location a couple of more times after my initial August 2014 visit as I loved the pizza. Then, they opened up other locations. I went to Navy Yard one at least twice, once after a Nationals baseball game after a disappointing loss for my 4th favorite baseball team, Texas Rangers. Sorry Nats fans, but Nats are in my bottom 10 teams. I also went to Rosslyn & Pentagon City location, where parking isn't quite as bad. They even had a Wheaton Mall food court location, which I got to experience once, but they sadly closed. Every experience with Wiseguy has been positive.

When we first walked in, the cashier immediately apologized for the long wait times, thanked everyone for their patience, and let us know they were incredibly short staffed with only two people working. Because the tiny interior was already packed, we decided to leave and do some sightseeing first. However, seeing how good the pizza looked we knew we had to come back later that afternoon. There's no negative details in my review. Nothing but positive things and a small recommendation. 1. Staff and Service I really appreciated the cashier's honesty about running behind right off the bat. That allowed us to make an informed choice rather than get frustrated by a long wait. More businesses could learn from this! 2. Restaurant's Layout The inside is a bit tight and busy, but it's located in a smaller older building, so they have no other options. Since they can't expand the inside adding an outdoor pub height counter for eating, a bench or some seating out front would be a great way to give waiting patrons a place to sit. Also a place to eat. 3. The Pizza -The Veggie Pizza: My nephew and I both ordered this, and the slices were massive you'll see in my pics! They were honestly the largest slices I have ever seen! I love pizza and have eaten it in New York and Chicago, and my slice here held its own. It was loaded with a huge variety of vegetables. I requested to put mine through the oven twice to get the veggies warm and cooked because I noticed my nephew's slice looked like a warm salad on crust. So happy I did because it was delicious! The jalapeños were intensely spicy which is on me, since I'm a bit of a lightweight with spice! -The Meat Options: My son got the pepperoni and thought it was really good, and my husband got a supreme slice which he also said was good . 4. Price and pizza size- they're more expensive than a typical slice, but once you see those big ole slices in my pics you'll understand why. They can't even fit on a plate. They had to serve them to you in an actual pizza box! After reading my long review you're trying to find out if I would go back huh? Absolutely! If I ever in the area or stay at the Hilton DC again, I would definitely walk right on over and get a slice. You can feed a family of three on one slice! Adult and two small children!
