This has to be one of the best pizzerias in town -- hands down! We ordered the Pizza Di Mare and the Paesana, and both were absolutely delicious. I can't even fully explain it... it was just that good. The crust was perfectly done -- crispy on the outside, soft on the inside -- and both pizzas had the perfect spicy kick from the spicy garlic pesto. The Di Mare, especially, might be the best shrimp pizza I've ever had. Service was great too! They initially seated us right by the kitchen entrance, so we asked if it would be possible to move. The host mentioned they were fully booked with reservations, but a few moments later she came back and said she'd prepare another table for us by the window. We really appreciated her effort to accommodate us. Like many establishments in DC, a 20% service charge is added to the bill. Additional tip isn't expected, but always appreciated. read more

I would rate this between three and four stars, but will lean to four based on other party members feedback. The restaurant itself was nice with patio seating. The pizza really wasn't my favorite, but other members of my party did like it. A plus is they also gave gluten free options. Their happy hour was nice and they serve up some great cocktails. I booked a table for 7 people to celebrate my son's birthday on October 11, 2025. The day before, I called to mention it was a birthday and asked for a table by the window. They said, "Sure, come earlier and remind us." We came three hours early to confirm and asked again for a big table by the window. The hostess said "of course." But when we arrived at our reservation time, the restaurant was full -- no table reserved. The waiter started setting up a table in the middle of the room near the kitchen, ignoring my request. My son ordered the Chocolate Almond Cake and asked for a small candle. The waiter agreed, but when dessert arrived, only two out of three desserts came, and one child waited another 15 minutes. My son's dessert had no candle, and when I asked again, the waiter said they never had any. The "cake" turned out to be a tiny cupcake with whipped cream, completely tasteless -- not a hint of almond. Disgusting. And then we were charged 20% service fee plus asked for extra tips! The waiter's shirt was covered in dried pizza dough, and his nails were long and dirty. I didn't want to ruin my son's mood, so I just paid and left. Went after work and just got a couple glasses of wine and the almond cake. My friend got the Tiramisu and some white wines. I mainly stick to the rosés and the moscato. If you were unsure about the flavor they would let you test it. FOR GLUTEN FREE AND DAIRY FREE: They have vegan cheese and gluten free crust. It is an up charge but it is good to know. They also have the almond flour chocolate cake which is what I got and it was good and the strawberry sauce was tasty ($8). The servers were nice and attentive. Despite the service, the food is good and I would come back. I got the bosco 9 inch and it was the perfect individual pizza. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their pizza and someone in our party made their own. The meatballs are a must!!!! They were so yummy. You'd think pizza was quick and easy but it definitely was not quick and idk if it was as easy as I expected. Again, food was good but the service was terrible. We had a reservation for 8 people and we got there 5 minutes before our reservation and the table was not ready. Then, our server was chatty but not very proactive and didn't take our orders half the time. So much conversation but not very attentive. She stayed awhile to chat when we didn't need anything but when we did need something and tried to flag her, it seemed like she was intentionally ignoring us. We were waiting for some of our party to arrive but she was very inattentive while we waited even though we were looking to order. Also very inattentive when the whole party arrived and we were ready to order. We had already been there for 30 minutes and it took about 20 minutes to flag her. Almost an hour being there and our orders, not even appetizers were put in. We stayed for much longer than expected and we late to our next commitment due to this. She also did not check on us once of our food came. It took her awhile (theme) to close us out even though I gave them my card ahead of time so we could expedite the process. We asked for the check and she gave it to us and then I gave my card. Again, despite me giving it prior so that they could charge it once we were done and provide me the receipt. She took it and then came back and asked if that was the same card I authorized, I said yes, and she said they could just charge it in the system then... as if that was not the intention. Maybe it was a miscommunication but it was added to the prolonging of our time there and caused us to be late for our next commitment. I stopped in for dinner with family and friends. I've been a number of times over the years. I love their approach to pizza and beer. Our orders covered a variety of pizzas. They all looked good. But I wasn't as impressed by the flavor. I had the Napoletana. I had them drop the capers as they didn't seem to belong. Again, it looked great but the crust lacked flavor. It was kind of dry and bland. The cheese was just overcooked or poor quality. It added nothing. And the anchovies were incredibly salty. I'm not sure how the others were but I was disappointed and didn't eat all that much. Overall a fun place but it might be time for me to find a new target for when I'm in town. read more

Decided to visit Pizzeria Paradiso for a date night. Overall, I really liked the vibes and food. We decided to share a 12-inch Paesana. The spicy pesto had a perfect amount of heat and the chicken sausage was absolutely delicious. The only thing that wasn't quite to my taste was that the pizza came out warm and not hot so it quickly got cold after a few minutes. Service was pretty good. The waiter was quick to get our order and refill our water. The ambiance was nice. The restaurant was well-lit and rather empty on a Sunday night. This is definitely a hidden gem in Georgetown! There is a bit of a wait since they can no longer seat as many customers at once due to covid reasons but it's really nice to know they're following through on social distancing and masking protocols. There's a downstairs arcade bar but it is temporarily closed. Bathrooms are unisex and there's one on the main level and additional restrooms downstairs. Since my friend and I waited longer than expected, they gave us a free appetizer on the house! We ordered the buffalo wings (highly recommend) and a 12-in macellaio pizza. I thought the pizza was okay but the 12 inch is perfect for two people to share. They also offer a variety of alcoholic beverages (mainly beers). Delicious wood-fired pizza! The Margherita pizza isn't Neapolitan as the crust and dough are a bit thicker. The pizza is a bit dry and my hubby didn't enjoy his as much as il Canale or 90 second pizza. While simpler is usually better, I prefer a pizza loaded up with toppings here as Paradiso has super fresh ingredients and knows how to slice and dice veggies! Ironically, I had a veggie pizza at Domino's the night before, and could definitely taste the difference in freshness of the ingredients and craftmanship of the pizza, Paradiso was hands-down the winner! My custom pesto pizza packed with veggies was bursting with flavor in every bite from the creamy fresh goat cheese. There was no shortage of cheese and It's sourced from a farm in PA. The diced roasted eggplant, roasted garlic, spinach, and thinly sliced red onions were delicious and elevated the flavor. The mozzarella cheese had a nice subtle flavor but a bit overpowered by the goat cheese. Of the half dozen or so toppings, the only one I would skip was the chopped chunky sweet red peppers, the raw peppers didn't pair well with the pesto sauce and other ingredients. Raw peppers would pair better with tomato sauce or roasted peppers would be tasty! I would love to try the toppings with a twist on a tomato sauce pie and swap out the goat cheese for the buffalo cheese - next time! The Pomme Mary cider is on the drier side with a crisp taste and a hint of sweetness. Perfect balance between sweet and dry. The tables in front of the restaurant are 6 feet apart and have a nice umbrella awning, perfect for shielding us from the rain. Pizza Paradiso is a staple of DC and visited 1/2 dozen times over the years at the other locations in Dupont and Alexandria. The Georgetown location is my favorite! Can't wait to be back! read more

I always walk past this place and it always seems busy and for a Saturday lunch it was no different. The place is not as large as I thought it was but we were able to get a seat. I got the Miniera with the Birreria sauce. The difference between the two sauces is the paradiso tomato sauce is more of a chunky one while the birreria is more smooth. I think it would probably be better for the paradiso since the toppings all slid off the pizza. I got lamb sausage, onions, and peppers on the pizza. The crust and the toppings were all great. Ordered carryout for obvious reasons. Was feeling some fancy pizza outside the national chain level. Opted for the Quattro Formaggi on wheat since I was very enticed by the Gorgonzola, plus shared the Macellaio since I wanted some of their meat options. The components were all on point. Crust had a nicely floured base with good texture that didn't feel oily - actually enjoyed eating their crust which I normally don't. The cheese option had just the kick I was expecting from the bit of blue. While the Macellaio was a little oily from both the pepperoni and sausage, I really liked the interplay with their Birreria tomato sauce, which I think might have beer roots according to a quick Google search. Unfortunately this is one of those cases where the whole is not the sum of its parts. Both pizzas we ordered, over half our slices had all the toppings slide off. Our Macellaio ended up with a sad floppy watery-looking tomato layer, while the cheese slices didn't have a sauce I believe. Yes, technically everything will end up mixed together if you just eat it all, but pizza that doesn't stay pizza or is hard-to-eat is usually a pass for me. read more

I didn't leave super full, which is surprising because I usually do with a 9 in pizza! My friends also seemed to enjoy their pizza. They split a 12 inch one, and the restaurant let them customize their half which made them both happy. The basement has a small arcade downstairs where I think it's open to food and bar service.
