    Nduja pizza
    Niamh M.

Nice sourdough pizza here! The crust was chewy and tasty! We got the nduja and the prosciutto pizzas. Could have had more nduja on the pizza, wasn't a lot on it so it wasn't as spicy as I would have expected. $27 was also a bit pricy for 12 inch pizza

Seasonal cabbage pizza & 500 ml bottle of Greek wine

A true hidden gem! Delicious Greek pizza with seasonal ingredients in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood. We made a reservation (highly encouraged) on a Friday evening - space was a bit crowded when we were seated at counter but we enjoyed watching the pizzas being made. We started with a Caesar salad (worth the hype) and a 500 ml bottle of a Greek wine ($16, which seemed very reasonable). The pizza (a seasonal cabbage one with hot honey) was perfectly crispy and flavorful. We are excited to return!

Delicious pizzas! We were a group of 3 and shared an app and 2 pizzas which was the perfect amount of food. We started with the whipped feta which was delicious. We shared 2 pizzas; classic cheese and halloumi. Both were really good and well made. Service was quick, but we did feel a bit rushed to finish our dishes and quickly clear plates at times. Nothing major but it didn't seem busy enough where someone was waiting for a table. Outside of that we had a great experience.

Stopped in here randomly when we were hungry and looking for food in the area. We were pleasantly surprised, services was quick and the pizza was delicious. Thin crispy crust with a tasty sauce and fresh good toppings. Chocolate olive oil cake was a perfect ending to the meal.

    Lamb + Hummus

Ordered the Classic cheese (added mushrooms), the whipped feta, and the Lamb + Hummus. It was a snow squall and didn't want to go out so laziness got the best of me. For 3 items plus delivery it was $93. A bit pricey but I took a chance based on the photos. WORTH EVERY PENNY. I don't have pics because I let my taste buds get the best of me. I would 100% go to the restaurant and order the same items in person. The quality and taste were a 10/10 so in person it would taste even better hot and fresh. The lamb + hummus was my favorite. Perfectly cooked meat and the flavors in the dish were clean and simple. The whipped feta was amazing too and this I would suggest to order in person. However if you don't mind a little deconstructed it's worth it. The pizza is an 8/10 for me and I would return.

Got carry out from here for a family dinner. We tried several of the pizzas and all were really good. The lab and hummus was outstanding. The Caesar salad sounded better than it ended up being. Prices were kind of high but the food was top notch.

Now one of my absolute favorite pizza places. Definitely not quite Neapolitan in my opinion, but phenomenally crunchy and complex sourdough pizza with a charming interior and great service! Definitely make sure to make a reservation ahead of time as this place fills up quickly!

Only managed to take a pic of the meatballs because we devoured the pizza so fast. But look at this thing! So good.

We've been here twice now, and it's only gotten better and better. The sourdough crust? Unreal. Their marinara is great and really made the marinara pizza special. I was super wowed by the sausage and grape pizza, and won't forget it anytime soon. Have never had trouble sitting at the bar, and service is fast. A 20% gratuity is included with every check. The prices are reasonable, too - eating here costs basically just as much as Pupatella, and this pizza is exponentially better and more special.

    Beets

Delicious dinner! The beets were amazing, and we also enjoyed the white pizza. We were able to get a table with no reservation.

    Halloumi pizza

Love love love their sourdough pizza! It's just amazing to see them make this amazing deliciousness right before your eyes. The menu is pretty simple and straightforward! You will enjoy a date night at this place (both food and ambiance)!

    Potatoes, Lamb Hummus, Caesar Salad

Vibes are immaculate here! Been multiple times, and not one food item has disappointed - it's all incredible. The lamb hummus is a standout. This place is a nice combination of great quality yet chill, comfortable, cozy vibes. A touch noisy, so keep that in mind for conversation, but it's worth it either way.

A very nice hidden gem in Mt. Pleasant! I love how open the kitchen area is and how initiate the restaurant feels. You really feel like you're part of the action here. Highlight of the meal: the halloumi pizza! The crust was great, the seasoning was perfect, and the halloumi absolutely hit the spot. I ordered it with dill sauce on the side, and it absolutely slapped. Hands down the best pizza I've had in DC. Everything else was a little lackluster. I loved the flavor of the spanakopita toast but was really put off by the high price point. The baklava cheesecake was a little soggy, and the olive oil cake was slightly too salty. For the high price, I don't think the quantity and quality were totally there, but it was close! I would come back here again specifically for that halloumi pizza. Outside of that, it's not bad! Just not a show stealer.

I think they take reservations but we were able to grab a bar spot. Are drinks pricey? What do you think? It's a cocktail bar in DC. The drinks we tried were pretty tasty, even the mezcal one which I thought was a refreshing take. The wall shows some of the drinks on the menu and the ingredients/glass it comes in which I thought was a nice touch. Bartenders were friendly but not too chatty as they were super busy but you never waited long for a drink. The bourbon drink with the whipped honey was our favorite but the gin drink that was pink was also fantastic. For food I did try the buffalo chicken dip, pretty large and tasty (not too spicy) and loved the super crisp celery and the fritos. Clean, trendy bathrooms, nice vibes throughout the whole spot for pictures, great for a night cap or pre-dinner drink.

It tasted like a rainbow--just bright and with a really delicious after taste. I should have stopped at the rose but after my trying my friend's, i had to have one! We initially came for happy hour, but moved to the cocktail menu. The hh was a bit limited, but the drinks were priced overall pretty reasonably for the area. My one complaint is the wine glasses were so teeny. Overall though, I would recommend this bar. Bonus: cheese balls when you sit down! I believe there is also a limited food menu (think nachos) for the after work or late night crowd.

Because it's a popular underground spot, it can definitely get incredibly busy and cramped in there. I've been multiple times, and almost every single time it is tough to find a spot to sit. However, I did come once during an off-peak time, right in the middle of the week around 1:00 PM for lunch--and it wasn't to busy, so we were easily able to just sit right at the bar.  I would definitely recommend checking this place out! Super popular tourist spot (and with good reason!),I def reccomend making a reservation. Luckily for my visit on a Saturday at 1pm, the wait to be seated wasn't too long, only about 10 minutes. I've never had oysters anywhere besides New York so I wanted to try them here and my mom got the fried oyster deviled eggs. Our sever Stephanie was such a delight and probably has the coolest pin collection I've ever seen. Also the restaurant just has a really beautiful atmosphere to sit down and enjoy some really great hospitality. Onto the food! Oysters were smaller than I thought they'd be but SO FLAVORFUL and just the right amount of brine, and slid beautifully from the shell 10/10 The deviled eggs were given a 10/10, presentation was beautiful and the pickled relish was a well rounded addition We then finished up by sharing the cheasapeake eggs Benedict! Which featured their famous crab cake. The HOLLANDAISE?? literally danced in my mouth. The crab meat was so tender and buttery! Only difference I would've loved if the smoked paprika that was on the deviled eggs to also be featured on the Benedict! Over all it was a very lovely and sense awakening experience 9/10

It's moved around a bit over the years and the exact original location is a mystery. The restaurant story is just the start. The food of course is where it's at. Old Ebbitt is famous for it's crab cakes according to the server so you know what direction I went in. They were more like a Maryland crab cake which has a ton of meat. We were at their lunch dining so salads were also ordered and tasted amazing. Finished the mean off with a Key Lime Pie and coffee. Reservations are highly recommended given its popularity. They also asked that all attendees in your party are present so remember that to be seated. Situated near the White House, and directly across the street from The Department of Treasury, it's an ideal spot for a meal before or after site seeing. What's clear about Old Ebbitt Grill is its longstanding appeal. President McKinley was such a fan he reportedly lived there during his Congressional days. Presidents Grant, Johnson, Cleveland, and Roosevelt all stopped in, basically making it a hot spot in Washington. If it's President approved you should go also!

I feel the price for the portion is kinda expensive though 8/10 Chili wontons - skin is silky and soft, sauce is savory with a small kick as well! Even though the sauces look similar to beef noodle they taste very different. The fillings had good flavor and overall were good but were a bit tougher and dryer than I would prefer. 6/10 Crab fried rice - crab is slightly overcooked but naturally sweet. It has a light curry taste throughout and was pretty good but didn't really stand out 5.5/10 Mapo tofu - slight kick and nice savory taste in the sauce! However I think they cut the tofu pieces way too large or the tofu they chose had way too much tofu flavor that overpowers the sauce. I'd prefer a very light silky tofu but this was a soft tofu. 6/10 Vpod - at first it just tasted like orange juice but then the other flavors peek through on the after taste and when I mixed it more. Even though it was good, it still felt very basic 5/10 Philadelphia Scotsman - it's pretty ginger forward.
