Decent service, poor prices, but tasty food. I ordered a slice of the meat lovers which cost $14 but they gave me two so I suppose it was worth it...very tasty nonetheless.

Driving thru DC during COVID and saw this place and stopped for some Slices to go. Man they were delicious ! We got pepperoni and cheese. Both were delicious and pretty big in size. Each slice was cut in two. We plan on making a trip back for some more pie !

The pizza LOOKED good, but didn't prepare me for the disgusting sausage that was waiting
    Jasmine N.

I ordered here last night for the first time and honestly, I was beyond disappointed by their pizza. By the reviews, I expected at least average pizza. I ordered a small cheese pizza with sausage, and I am not exaggerating by saying it was the worst tasting sausage I have ever had. I am not sure if they used bad meat, but it had an after taste that was disgusting- tasted like it was rotten or fake meat. I quickly tried to pick off the sausage so I could tolerate the pizza (Fyi I have NEVER had bad sausage on a pizza before, it's my go-to topping). I am really confused by all the 4 and 5 star reviews. Even if the pizza didn't have the disgusting sausage on it, the pizza itself was below average at best. Not terrible, but there was barely any sauce and it was essentially bread with cheese. I kept putting garlic on top to add flavor. I only finished it because i was starving and i drowned each slice with garlic. My order was for pickup so I didn't have much experience with service, but it was fine. The person who took my order over the phone was polite and I was promptly taken care of when i walked in. That was essentially the only good part of this experience.

1/2 salami, extra large cheese pizza. oh, my.

Great pizza experience. Hit the spot and ahead of schedule on delivery. I decided to put my systems to the test, my cardiovascular and digestive systems, in particular The last time I ate an entire ex-large cheese pizza was not a small number of years ago, at the age of 22. I was not thinking clearly at the time as I sure am not on this fine Friday afternoon in the NW of the D.C. 1 hour and 20 minutes later, as we speak, I can safely say that the pizza was most certainly delicious. I did not spend an entire 1 hour and 20 minutes eating the pizza; the full 80 minutes I refer to include soda-sipping and recovery time. Fast driver and courteous service. Great tasting, greasy pizza. Yes, it is greasy, but tolerably greasy. The most redeeming part of the pizza was the crust. I feel the crust is purposely baked that way, crunchy and wide, to withhold the weight of the cheese 'n grease, and to allow you to indulge in the beautiful, slimy yellow ooze that we like to call garlic sauce. MMmmh. Also, is it fair that my mind is blown by the seamless 1/2 topping options this restaurant provides you with on their online ordering page? I mean, I can safely say that I've covered a lot of pizza terrain as I have ordered from a number of different pizza joints around this city of ours.. 1/2 toppings was always a pain. Thank you D'Oro, I'll be back for more!

Golden Supreme Pizza, Jumbo Buffalo Wings and Gyro Platter (Halal).... Yumm!

Yummm!!! Great food, fast delivery and friendly staff. First time ordering from Pizza D'Oro and I'm hooked. My son and I tried their Supreme Pizza, Jumbo Buffalo Wings (Mild) and Gyro Platter (Halal) and were very pleased. We will definitely be ordering from Pizza D'Oro again.

Excellent for a quick bite! We only ordered pizza but saw a number of things come out while waiting for our food. Everything looked great. It's a little whole in the wall place, but wasn't hard to find. The staffed wasn't as friendly as most places we visited but they did their jobs! I would recommend ordering out since they deliver!

    Overstuffed sub?! What a joke!
    Sam N.

Yes, its been 3 years since I ate here. Over stuffed subs? There was literally no meat in my sub. It was flat and over stuffed with wilted lettuce and tomatoes! $15?!!! What a scam. I was so disappointed tonight. Never Ever Ever again

My go-to pizza place in Columbia Heights. Their slices are 1/4 of a 16" diameter pizza, and at reasonable prices. Brooklyn style foldable slice. They can be drippy, so keep the napkins handy. They have pepper, oregano, garlic, and cheese for sprinkling. They have a full menu of calzones, etc. in addition to the pizza. Stop by and pick up a slice today.

That month I had started Uber driving, was in this area of DC, had heard good things about Wiseguy, and decided to eat here. Although I don't like paying to park just to simply eat a meal, I sometimes will make an exception for convenience and/or if it's a place I really want to go. But for the most part, I'll go to restaurant where they have free parking or at least I can find free parking near the restaurant. I remembered getting a parking spot very close and feel like I feed the meter like 50 cents in 2014 parking prices for a quick 30 minute meal. They have all kinds of varieties of slices from the standard toppings or just cheese to fancy ones. Although the pizza is fairly thin, but average for New York style pizza. I tried Andy's Pizza 11 years later in 2025, and while it was solid although not as good as Wiseguy, my real complaint with Andy's was that the pizza is very thin, where I was hungry very soon later; so a much worse value as pricing is comparable to Wiseguy. Wiseguy slices are big, and the pizza is top notch New York style. I went to this location a couple of more times after my initial August 2014 visit as I loved the pizza. Then, they opened up other locations. I went to Navy Yard one at least twice, once after a Nationals baseball game after a disappointing loss for my 4th favorite baseball team, Texas Rangers. Sorry Nats fans, but Nats are in my bottom 10 teams. I also went to Rosslyn & Pentagon City location, where parking isn't quite as bad. They even had a Wheaton Mall food court location, which I got to experience once, but they sadly closed. Every experience with Wiseguy has been positive.

When we first walked in, the cashier immediately apologized for the long wait times, thanked everyone for their patience, and let us know they were incredibly short staffed with only two people working. Because the tiny interior was already packed, we decided to leave and do some sightseeing first. However, seeing how good the pizza looked we knew we had to come back later that afternoon. There's no negative details in my review. Nothing but positive things and a small recommendation. 1. Staff and Service I really appreciated the cashier's honesty about running behind right off the bat. That allowed us to make an informed choice rather than get frustrated by a long wait. More businesses could learn from this! 2. Restaurant's Layout The inside is a bit tight and busy, but it's located in a smaller older building, so they have no other options. Since they can't expand the inside adding an outdoor pub height counter for eating, a bench or some seating out front would be a great way to give waiting patrons a place to sit. Also a place to eat. 3. The Pizza -The Veggie Pizza: My nephew and I both ordered this, and the slices were massive you'll see in my pics! They were honestly the largest slices I have ever seen! I love pizza and have eaten it in New York and Chicago, and my slice here held its own. It was loaded with a huge variety of vegetables. I requested to put mine through the oven twice to get the veggies warm and cooked because I noticed my nephew's slice looked like a warm salad on crust. So happy I did because it was delicious! The jalapeños were intensely spicy which is on me, since I'm a bit of a lightweight with spice! -The Meat Options: My son got the pepperoni and thought it was really good, and my husband got a supreme slice which he also said was good . 4. Price and pizza size- they're more expensive than a typical slice, but once you see those big ole slices in my pics you'll understand why. They can't even fit on a plate. They had to serve them to you in an actual pizza box! After reading my long review you're trying to find out if I would go back huh? Absolutely! If I ever in the area or stay at the Hilton DC again, I would definitely walk right on over and get a slice. You can feed a family of three on one slice! Adult and two small children!

The interior is oddly dark but did have some interesting local flavor in the decor. The actual food was the problem. A garlic bread was one of those with a pizza crust and a ton of cheese rather than being a loaf of bread. I bit into it to discover something hard that didn't taste like bread. Turned out to be a shard of plastic, which could have been dangerous if I'd actually eaten it. Continuing with the bread yielded an oddly crunchy texture like sand or something in there. Something really wasn't right here; like whoever made this was seriously negligent in a way that I don't often observe despite eating out at a diverse variety of places. I ended up throwing the bread out. They offer some Indian-infused options as well, and I didn't have any problems with their samosas, which tasted legit. The chaat form had a lot of samosas and not a ton of chickpeas or toppings, which I found a little odd; normally in a samosa chaat you struggle to even see the samosa under the chickpeas. I ordered a regular margherita pizza, which purportedly had buffalo mozzarella. This is an expensive imported cheese, and I don't think I've ever seen that much of it on a pizza. It was ludicrously filling, and I had only a couple of slices and didn't finish much of it the night I got it. I'll store it for future use. From something in there, whether it be the bread or the sauce, I felt I got a ton of salt and was jittery and often in the bathroom the night after. Just not a good experience overall. I'm not sure what went wrong or if this is their typical level of quality, but I'd have to be convinced to come back and try them again. There may be some quality there, but I would also note that the neighborhood is known for another pizza shop just down the road (Timber), which offers less filling portions but also high quality food with nice salads, and I've never had a problem there.
