The bottomless drinks are a great deal, and the appetizers are always solid, The aperitivo happy hour includes cheesy bread, meatballs, and a caesar salads The pizzas are honestly to die for and one of the main reasons I keep coming back. What really makes this place special, though, is the staff. Everyone is super friendly and welcoming, and the manager is truly top tier. If any issue ever comes up, she's always happy to make it right. The team here is so consistent that they are starting to feel like family. A wonderful time is to be had at Little Coco's Aperitivo Hour. $36 will get you bottomless cocktails, wine or beer (choose from their special menu), and nibbles of garlic bread with a delicious mix of parmesan, whipped ricotta and mozarella cheeses, caesar salad, and a single meatball with polenta. That evening I had a hankering for negronis, and true to the bottomless offer, they kept them coming! No sooner than I had taken the last sip of one drink than the next one appeared. No looking around for a waiter! I was really impressed with their attentiveness. The hospitality is truly impeccable. When I gave feedback that the caesar salad was way too salty, the manager understood precisely what had gone wrong and instantly replaced it. I would have liked two meatballs rather than one, which would have felt generous, but this was not intended to be a meal, after all. We also ordered the corn and jalapeno fritters (which were probably fabulous when they were originally conceived but not currently being executed well) and for dessert a fantastic zabaglioni. Cute place but terribly noisy and the bench seats are old and not very comfortable. Service was prompt and welcoming. Main courses (Cacio e Pepe, chicken Parm, goat cheese ravioli and pasta bolognese) were generous and well prepared. The Cacio e Pepe was well seasoned, the Chicken Parm was huge and an excellent value, especially if you add spaghetti to it for an extra $5. The goat cheese ravioli was a creative dish with corn in the sauce. The Caesar salad was a large portion- enough for two to share - but much too salty. **I would give 4/5 stars if I was not gluten free** I was highly disappointed in this restaurant for their almost complete lack of gluten free options- in this day and age, most if not all restaurants have an option for gluten free pasta and pizza- to the point where I didn't even research beforehand because places are usually so accommodating. I ended up having an appetizer or two (salad-based), but could not eat any of the entrees. Gluten free people- do not come here unless you only want a salad-based appetizer or drink! & I would strongly recommend that the restaurant get a gluten free pasta and crust to have on hand. read more

I've had Little Coco's on my list for a while because of their happy hour deal, but we stopped in for Restaurant Week instead. We had the Coco's Meatballs, Ciabatta Tre Formaggi, Spicy Rigatoni Alla Vodka, and Coco's Chicken Parm. The dessert -- a deconstructed spumoni -- was the highlight of the meal. After a birthday massage at bluebell spa, my wife and I decided to go to Little Coco's for an impromptu date night. We did not have a reservation, but they were able to get us a seat outside and then moved us inside which was awesome. Very friendly staff. They do a great job taking care of their guest. My wife and I started with the Caesar salad and calamari. Typically, whenever I've had calamari, it's served with a dipping sauce but this one was tossed in a butter sauce. It was amazing. We then had the rigatoni and cacio e Pepe. The rigatoni was good but the pasta was al dente which I liked but my wife did not. Went on a Sunday night and they were having a deal ($55 for 2 people and it came with SO MUCH food). We were a trio (a lot of people do the deal and order a pizza). Anyways, I went rogue and ordered the butternut squash ravioli. I was between that and the white pizza - our server put me at ease saying if I didn't like it they would make the pizza happen. I took a photo but it doesn't do it justice. Clean plate club for every dish. Also, ordered the tiramisu that came with a small unexpected scoop of chocolate gelato. My friends and I came here for weekend brunch on a Sunday. Little Coco's had been recommended on some list for best bottomless brunch in DC, so we felt like we had to try it out. As a group of 5, we were lucky and able to snag a later reservation the day before. When we arrived we were greeted quickly and warmly. We waited about 5 mins before our table was ready and we were seated. Our waiter, Joe, was kind and helped us greatly by answeting all our questions and making sure we always had our next drinks coming. Our table ordered two lobster omlettes, the eggplant parmesan, chicken milanese & waffles, and the green lantern pizza. Everyone devoured their food and really enjoyed it. 3 out of 5 of us opted for the bottomless drinks (an extra $19pp) and we were big fans of the Hibiscus Mimosas and the Coco's Spritz-- delicious! I live 2 minutes from Little Cocos and I'm excited to have good Italian this close to me! We were able to be seated with no reservation on a Monday night. It definitely filled up later so could be a good idea to make one. I tried the basil gimlet which was delicious! My parents enjoyed their drinks as well. We started with Coco's meatballs which were tender and went really nicely with the creamy polenta. The tomato sauce is super rich and flavorful. We shared the meat and mushroom pizza and the goat cheese ravioli, which they change up seasonally. We had it with corn and pureed zucchini cream sauce. The pasta was fresh and the goat cheese had a really nice flavor! The pizza was great as well. Service was a little lacking. We had three different servers throughout our meal and it was a bit scattered as we didn't get any silverware prior to our app being served. We were greeted by "Doc" who seated us promptly and took care of us for an unforgettable hour or so in such a quaint, delightful spot. The food is absolutely divine. - Truffle artichoke bruschetta - I thought this was pretty good but not life changing. I did not taste much of the truffle essence although the quality was on point. - Lobster omelette with arugula salad and crispy potato pancake - totally awesome. Omelette was cooked to perfection with tasty chunks of lobster and seasoned perfectly, as were the accompanying salad and potato 'pancake' (really like a McD's has brown on steroids). - Spicy vodka rigatoni - Mind blowing. Best I have had anywhere and that is saying something. Spiced to absolute perfection and served HOT. Standout dish. - Vegetarian pizza - Excellent. We enjoy some of the best pizza in the country at home in SF so I'm a bit biased when it comes to pizza but this was solid. - Squid ink pasta - I ended up buying some to go and ate it just now for dinner. It was also flawless. All in all we absolutely loved this place and can't wait to return. We will, we assured our friendly server Doc who we bonded with by the end of the meal. I wouldn't classify this as an Italian restaurant - it leans more Italian-American than Italian, as it caters more to Italian-American and American tastes with more spicy dishes in the menu than what I'm accustomed to seeing. However, they're able to make accommodations, as there was not a single pasta menu with seafood that wasn't made spicy when I looked over it - and I love pasta with seafood. The pizzas that came out for the other tables seem American style with the abundance of cheese - and they looked good too. Pros: + Tagliatelle with scallops: 5 stars for the pasta and for the cream (removed jalapeños for the non-spicy version of the dish). + Burrata: 5 stars - creamy and tasty with the beets and carrots. + Spumoni ice cream - the amaretto cookies that come with it was a great idea, as well as a thick Nutella chocolate bottom to mix in with the vanilla and amazing pistachio gelato and luxardo cherries - I don't think I've had better spumoni anywhere else, and would definitely return for this. Cons: - Calamari was overly salty even though it was crisped to perfection. The sauces could be a bit better for this dish. - Bavette steak was good to eat, but I wasn't overly impressed with this hearty dish - I think the truffle fries with Parmesan may have been the best part but I wasn't able to eat it all. I do not think I would order this again. - Bathroom (not a food dish obviously) - it was a trek up and down to get to a tiny bathroom that seems to be shared with a different establishment? Some friends and I made a reservation for Saturday brunch recently and had a delicious time! You'll definitely want a reservation, especially if it's cold outside and the outside seating isn't available. We thankfully had a reservation and were seated very quickly. The inside was cute and the atmosphere was very pleasant. We started with the donuts and ciabatta Tre formaggi. I am not as much of a sweets person, especially for brunch, but the donuts seemed a bit much for our table (since they weren't all eaten during the meal). However, I DEFINITELY recommend the ciabatta: hard to go wrong with toasty bread and whipped ricotta! A great way to start putting something in your stomach while you start the drinks package. Speaking of drinks, you basically pay $19 and have 2 hours for as many mimosas, lagers, bloody Marys or spritzes you want, which our server told us is worth it as long as you have at least 2 drinks - no problem for us! I liked the pomegranate mimosa and the hibiscus one, but the classic was...well, classic! For my entree, I ordered the parmigiano di patate and it was SO good! Very rich, since it's potatoes in béchamel sauce with cheese and poached eggs, but it's such a yummy indulgence. The portion initially doesn't look impressive, but given how rich it is (and considering the beverages you'll be drinking), I still left plenty full. The service was a bit patchy: the food came out pretty quickly, but the drinks sometimes took a long time to come out (both the coffee and the mimosas). Perfect spot for a low key romantic date night or a catch up with a friend. I came on a sunday and they have a special for two people for $55 which we didn't try but a nice option! Food was delicious! The fried green tomato appetizer was perfectly crispy and had a tang of sweetness from the balsamic glaze. I got the cacio e pepe and my friend got the monkfish and we both thought our food was great. I got an aperol spritz which was small but good and my friend got one of their homemade sodas (they have some interesting ones!). The service was generally okay but I waited a while to get the aperol spritz and even had another server/employee come to ask if I was waiting on it. Our server was nice though. The ending of the night was European-esque where we waited a while after we finished to track down the server for the check. However, I don't think that's an issue if you're on a date and just want to keep the night going. Overall, I still had a good experience and enjoyed the food so I'll be back! read more

Worst service ever, sat down, waited 13minutes for water to come to the table, then another 10 goes by and we finally see our server she placed our order for a draft beer, glass of wine and a sparkling water and food basically at the same time 20+ minutes goes by and no drinks delivered and no still water refill or sparkling water delivered. Family and I live practically across the street. We decided it's been a long day didn't see our server and politely asked the host/manager if we could cancel our drink order and get our food changed to take out. Then the worst server ever comes over shows us her machine starts an argument and says it hasn't been 20min I placed your order 18min ago see and shows us her little handheld device. Regardless of when she placed the order im well aware of when we arrived and when we were given tap water and our order was taken because I was texting my partner who's out of town at the same time this was all happening. It was significantly longer and she clearly waited extra time to submit our order. We responded politely and we mentioned someone sat at the bar 10+min after us and already had drinks and apps. She said because they are at the bar it's faster service. Mind you we wanted to sit at the bar but there was no seats because they had small kids at the bar which is definitely illegal. However, regardless... entering someone's order well after they order, and even saying if she forgot to place our order and then placed it. 18min for a draft beer, glass of wine and sparkling water shouldn't take 18min. Not to mention us being seated for over 30 minutes and getting one 6 ounce glass of water each and no refill. She copped an attitude again and told us to get out, we start to leave and in the most condescending tone she goes ta ta, ta ta, have the most amazing night ever. And my family member was like excuse me speaking to the host/manager and was like are you going to let her speak to customers like that. I don't recall the host/manager saying anything. I stepped outside already, but she kept yelling and repeating ta ta, don't come back. That I could hear with the door closed. She even had the audacity to open the door after the whole table had already stepped out on the street just to yell ta ta again. She definitely wanted to get her last words in. I've worked in luxury hotels both Forbes 5 star and Michelin rated restaurants for a decade and never in my life have I had or seen someone act as childish as she did accosting us out the door because we asked if we could cancel our drink order and get our food Togo. After more than a reasonable amount of time has passed. I've gotten treated better at Dick's Last Resort, and you literally go to that restaurant for them to be a dick to you and treat you like crap. If she was my employee I would have written her up, sent her home, or fired her on the spot. It was completely uncalled for and unacceptable behavior. She's got no business working in food and beverage or hospitality. It was my first time going here, my family had been before but I can definitely say I won't be stepping in that restaurant ever again. I recommend avoiding this place at all costs. They clearly don't care about their customers or repeat business. My family I was with were both regulars and highly recommended it up until this experience. read more

I was curious about Little Coco's, as I had heard about their pizzas. In addition to their pies, the restaurant also serves various types of apps (such as Crispy Brussels Sprouts and Roasted Broccoli Salad), pastas, and entrees. I met a friend here for an early dinner, and we started off with the Truffle Marinated Artichoke Bruschetta, which had lemon whipped ricotta; For the pizza, we tried Coco's Formaggio (which was topped with mozzarella, pecorino, fior di latte, and basil), The Sailor Man (topped with ricotta, Parm, spinach, tomatoes, and citrus gremolata), and the Demogorgon (topped with gorgonzola, brown butter roasted squash, pumpkin seeds, sherry, and arugula). Unfortunately, the descriptions of the pizza made it sound way appetizing versus what was consumed; the crust was super soggy, and not sure where all the excess liquid was coming from or if it had too many toppings? We were curious about their pastas, so we also ordered a Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka (with marinara, cream, chili flakes, and Parm) and the Squid Ink Tagliatelle (with shrimp, lobster cream sauce, jalapenos, ginger, and 'nduja sausage crumb). Both had its pasta cooked al dente, which was great, and were the preferred eats than the pizzas. Service was incredibly slow, almost painful-like. Really lovely cozy Italian restaurant in Petworth right on 14th Street. They update their menu frequently to follow the seasonal foods while maintaining their signature dishes. The pizzas are inventive with flavorful and crispy crust, and the pasta is so fresh. I'm a fan of the cacio e pepe, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Disappointing Experience at Little Coco's Dear Little Coco's Management, I wanted to share my recent experience at your restaurant, as it was unfortunately quite disappointing. Before arriving, I called around 8:30 p.m. to confirm that the kitchen was still open, since your posted hours indicate it closes at 9:00 p.m. The young woman who answered the phone was notably rude during our brief conversation. While we were on our way to the restaurant, I received a call back informing me that the kitchen was closing and that we should not come in even though we were already arriving. Upon entering, we were not welcomed or offered a table, and the overall treatment we received felt unkind and dismissive. The experience left us feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. We decided to dine at a nearby restaurant instead, where we were treated with warmth and respect, and the food was excellent. Great little spot for a relaxing dinner. We ordered the crispy Brussels sprouts which was way better than I expected. My friend ordered the orange shrub soda which had orange cardamom shrub and honey, a fantastic combination that almost resembles orange chai??. The pizza was their signature Dr Pepper pizza with pepperoni and basil with basil leaves so large they covered the pizza. It was delicious and cooked perfectly. The service was good and the food was okay too, however, i went to the bathroom while they had my credit card and when i came out, my friend already had my credit card and was ready to go. I never had the chance to fill out the tip section myself because when we left and there was no one at the front desk. I absolutely wouldve tipped generously but i just didnt have the receipt anymore so we just left after paying. I checked my bank later that night and they added a 20% tip themselves. Again, wouldve had no issue tipping the same amount but the fact that they did it themselves was upsetting. read more

Excellent food and drinks! We went on a Wednesday and enjoyed 20% off a bottle on the wine special. We ordered the fried tomatoes which were crispy and flavorful with onion, cheese and balsamic. Our favorite was the cheesy garlic bread. For dinner we had the white pizza and the spicy rigatoni vodka. Both were excellent, and the serving size was large with leftovers. The restaurant was well decorated and homey. The service was quick and friendly. Overall great experience, and would go again! read more
