This is my favorite place for pizza! I first visited this place on Pi Day, which turns out to be a very busy day for pizza places. The restaurant was packed so we ended up literally squeezing in at the bar that night. It wasn't the most comfortable seating arrangement, but we loved the pizza. We've been back many times since. For the antipasti we typically order the Calamari Fritto. It's just okay in my opinion but I always end up ordering it. Pizza selection is always the Supremo and the Peperoni. We were seated as soon as we walked in. Our server approached us within 5 mins and asked if we wanted to order drinks. He brought a bottle of water over to our table with two glasses. We ordered the meatball pizza and a salad. It was just 2 of us in our party, so this was plenty of food. The pizza is pretty large and tasted good. After dinner, we ordered dessert. My husband got the cake that comes bathed in heavy cream. I got the Rainbow Cake. Both desserts were great. In DC, they sort of just leave you alone while you are dining, and it was different for us. In California, the server checks on you several times during your meal. We enjoyed not being bothered and it allowed us to dine well with each other. read more

Additional tips are welcome, but not expected." I don't like mandatory tips (aka service charges) and so my expectations were a little low, but I was pleasantly surprised. They seem to have struck a reasonable balance: there's a service charge, but I'm not expected to tip. Fair enough, so I didn't. I still say they should just incorporate in the price. DC has made eating out all together too expensive but for special occasions. I had the Godfather, which was 12 inches and was just big enough for one person, but two people could share it. Spicy, jalapeño peppers, and tasty. A limited bar, tap water served in a glass bottle but ..no ice (??). It's an ok sized restaurant, and we had a number of people taking care of us - a server who seemed like our server, but everything was handled by someone else, so we were never really quite sure who was taking care of us. You'll definitely want reservations. If you're going to wait for a table, be warned that there really isn't a place to wait for that table. You'll be standing around the entrance, bumping into people coming and going. They seem to do a brisk take out and Doordash business. The construction lends to a slightly noisy atmosphere, it's definitely not a quiet place. Overall, tasty, nice, but wouldn't be high on my list for a second go. You can find other places in the neighborhood sans fees, and more value, but if you were looking for a date spot, then it should be on your list. read more

We started with the Brussel sprouts and the chopped salad both were delicious. We ordered the specialty Hawaiian type pizza so yummy. We also ordered the godfather which was spicy but the boys really liked it. Both pizzas were very tasty the crust is amazing and they put just the right amount of toppings! I recently visited All-Purpose Pizzeria while in the middle of moving and decided to take my daughter and her friend out for pizza. The space itself is very cute and inviting, and I was excited to try it. However, it took us about 45 minutes to find parking, and at seven months pregnant, I was already exhausted and hungry by the time we walked in. I am a culinary school graduate with years of experience in fine dining, both professionally and as a guest, so I understand how busy restaurants operate and how important proper communication and hospitality are. When we were greeted, we were told there would be about an hour wait. As the host walked away and began helping others who arrived after us, I was confused about how the waitlist worked. I politely asked for clarification, but another staff member abruptly interrupted our conversation and was extremely rude and dismissive. The interaction made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. I then asked to speak with the general manager, and the staff member identified herself as the general manager and said her name was Asia. Unfortunately, the interaction did not reflect the level of professionalism, leadership, or hospitality I would expect from management. This was honestly one of the worst hospitality experiences I've had since moving to the DC area. Because of how we were treated, we decided to leave without ordering food. I understand restaurants get busy, but courtesy and respectful communication are essential. This experience was deeply disappointing, and I hope they make improvements in how they treat their guests. read more

We went here for a quick dinner and it was such an awesome spot! It was so difficult to decide on which pizza to get because every single option sounded so good!! We ultimately decided to share Tripper, Buona, and Sedgewick. The black truffle honey on the Sedgewick was so flavorful, but my favorite pizza was honestly the Buona. It's such a classic, but done so well! We also ordered the arancini and Brussel sprouts which I highly recommend you get! The arancini was earthy and had umami. Ugh I'm dreaming of it. For Restaurant Week, I ordered the POLENTA CAKES as my appetizer and the SUPREMO pizza for my entrée, all for $35. The food was solid across the board, but the real standout was the value.For just $10 extra, you can add bottomless mimosas and Bellinis. I've never seen bottomless offered at that price point, so of course I took that deal. For $45 total, food plus bottomless drinks is hard to beat, especially in DC. Service is what really pushed this to a five-star experience. John, the bartender, was fantastic. He kept our drinks full, checked in regularly, and had great energy the entire time. This was during peak Restaurant Week, with the bar completely full, and he still made sure everyone was taken care of. That level of service goes a long way. There is an automatic 20% service charge, just as an FYI, but it was well deserved. John did such a great job that I ended up tipping extra in cash on top of it. Terrible service great food! We had a reservation since it was awesome con weekend, we assumed they would be packed due to proximity to the convention center. Nonetheless we were seated quickly in the center of the restaurant which has a super cutesy pizzeria vibe. You can see the chefs making your pizza from almost anywhere in the restaurant. You aren't drowned out by loud music but instead you just hear mumbling from the people around you. Anyways for some one with a toddler it's ideal. Plus mom win when the restaurant has a changing table in the bathroom. Moving on to food and drinks. We had the prosciutto and mozzarella which was simple and delicious, the bunoa pizza which was also delicious. I truly loved the crust they do here. I know the menu says it's personal pan pizza but you can easily share it with up to 3 people. I also had a spicy margarita and their special cheery espresso martini. The margarita was insanely spicy and had so much tajin in the bottom of the glass. It was hard to enjoy. I went with the calamari and Brussels sprouts, and let me just say--the calamari is hands down my favorite in D.C. And I've had *a lot* of calamari. Perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and just the right amount of tenderness. The Brussels sprouts were a solid addition, but the calamari was the real star. Voted Washingtonian 2024 Top 100 Restaurants in D.C., it does not disappoint! They are known for their 12" pizzas, which I would recommend sharing between 2 people, unless you are quite hungry. Their crust is unbelievable and we enjoyed the Vesuvio pizza We also tried the Arancini "Siciliano" as an appetizer, and I wouldn't recommend it, as the flavors didn't mix well. The servers are really attentive, coming to replace the silverware between courses and they have quality cloth napkins. I am in DC for work and met up with a friend at All Purpose. I used to live in DC and loved All Purpose when it opened and am so excited that it is still here and thriving. We were able to easily snag a reservation on a Sunday evening and were quickly seated in a cozy little window spot. I loved seeing the non-alcoholic drink options. My friend and I don't drink and both got the Amalfi Spritz, which was delicious. We decided to split a few starters, including the tomato panzanella, caesar salad, and arancini. All was delicious, but the arancini were the clear standouts. They had some delicious late summer corn in them, although I would have loved just a bit more sauce on them. The panzanella was great and the basil they used was so fresh and bright. I went with the Belmar pizza, which has parm fonduta, mozz, roasted summer corn, jalapeno, red onion, lemon, and fresh basil. I ordered the feta ranch dippie to go with because I am a ranch girlie. Pizza was incredible -- I had forgotten how much I love their crust. Love All-Purpose. It's about the most consistently good restaurant in the area. Staff is friendly and engaging, They never take the favorites off the menu. The pizza is exactly what you expect and want from an artisanal pizza shop - gently crisp crust and fun topping combos, but also can simply do your own toppings if you're just in the mood for simple. Appetizers have been great, as well - arancini or Caesar salad. The AP salad is good, as well. Travels well - 75% of my orders are takeout. Since the pick up app and online sources refused to point out how big their pizzas are, we assumed they might have been larger based on the pictures of several people around these pizzas found on yelp. However, we did not see the physical menus until later which state they are all 12in pies which should be noted in the description across all sites, including their own toast take-out site. Complete oversight on pretty important information considering the price. Regardless, we are all of the opinion that this place is insanely overpriced pizza for a slightly above average taste. read more

The drink specials were a hit with flavors we've never tried before. The small place packs a lot in such a small place. The bar gives a good view of the drinks being made and donning gives you a good view of the pizzas being made. Our pizza was absolutely delicious would get again.
