Excellent food and dessert. They were able to accommodate a last minute party of seven which I appreciated so much.

I loved Pacci's. We got a reservation and sat downstairs, which had a really interesting dark feeling. One thing I really appreciate is a waiter who can walk you through the menu. Our waiter did that. I asked for recommendations and he explained everything on the menu to us. Then I asked a specific question about a dish and he knew the answer immediately. He also gave us specials. I got the Orecchiette e Salsiccia -- Rapini shells with sausage. I loved it. Someone else my table got the special -- pasta with steak. The steak was cooked PERFECTLY and was wonderful. Overall, I loved Pacci's. It has a laid back family vibe yet the food is fantastic. One more thing: the neighborhood Pacci's is in is beautiful. Ok so you're a guy from Jersey and of course you love Italian food so your keep your eyes peeled all over the city for new places to try. Paccis looks like a small family owned Jersey Italian spot tucked inside a classic Capitol Hill brick home so of course you gotta try it. You and your girlfriend sit down and immediately the couple in the corner seated next to you pipes up about good timing because you just missed the sunset glaring through the window. This fella keeps flapping his jaw the whole time. Even to the elderly couple cross the room. Ok so maybe I was part of the problem but whatever. Anyway it feels like home. They eat there all the time, so that's a good sign. Good people. Which is good because the food is good too and You don't want bad ambiance to detract from a great meal. Oh and did I mention the couple who sat next to us after that were speaking Italian and sharing pizza and pasta? Paccis is certified FOOD: So oh yeah they serve food here too right. Let's talk about it. Me and the girlfriend love to share everything because why come to a delicious restaurant and only try one dish? Fuggedaboutit! We're sampling over here. She starts with a Hugo spritz that apparently is a "girliepop fave" which I might deserve jail time for typing those words but whatever sue me she liked the drink ok? Antipasti: We tried the eggplant fritti which was delicious. Also shared the beet salad. Also delicious. But I will say that we eat a lot of arugula salads and dry arugula even with all the toppings can be a little rough and I'd love if it was lubed up with a tiny bit of olive oil. Anyway don't hesitate to try either of these. Entrees: Buccatini alla carbonara was awesome. Creamy/cheesy, nice bite through the pasta, and that cured meat or whatever it was. We also had the chicken Marsala which was delicious but if you don't already know, don't ask how it's made so delicious because it's basically all butter and cream. Anyway pasta and sauce and chicken we're all delicious. Desert: Especially in an Italian restaurant this is almost always an automatic tiramisu for me but this time we decided to go with something different. The girlfriend loves a lemony dessert so we tried the limoncello cake. She loved it and I liked it. I would say get it if you're a lemon fan. And bada boom bada bing that's your review. Everything I've ordered has been good, only done lunch, never dinner, but the menus are similar, more offerings at dinner. I've got friends who are longtime Cap Hill residents and this has become a favorite spot to meet up. Been coming here for about 2 years. The Pacci's salad is lovely; spinach and pear mingle together, making it memorable. I find the calamari to be tasty and crispy. The cheese tortellini grows on you; subtle woodsy flavors emerge in the sauce due to a light touch of mushrooms and artichokes. For desserts, their limoncello cake is fab. The coffee is average, and I wish it was more than that to complement the desserts. Service is friendly, lingering is encouraged. It's a relaxing environment, can unwind easily here. The chicken marsala was SO good. Service was great and they were very sweet with our toddler. We asked if there was a kids menu (there isn't) but they were kind enough to make her some buttered noodles. It was $9 which seemed slightly pricey for a kid's buttered noodles but she gobbled them up so, still worth it. I like that it's casual enough for families but still formal enough for a date night. Came here for dinner tonight and shared a beet salad (antipasti), El padrino (pizza), and pistachio gnocchi (pasta), and tiramisu + one scoop of pistachio gelato (dessert). The beet salad was amazing although a little light on beets. The buffalo mozzarella on top was delicious and we spread it over the salad like a poached egg which had a nice contrast to the bitterness of the fresh arugula base. The pizza was our favorite dish. The crust was amazing and the fresh basil really put it over the top. The gnocchi pasta was great in itself), I would have liked something to cut the cheesy/pistachio sauce/flavor a bit. Maybe a touch of tomato sauce. The tiramisu was certainly made fresh in-house (as confirmed by the server) but we actually thought the pistachio gelato (also made in the house) was the better of the two desserts. About a 2-2.5: Pacci's Trattoria has 2 locations - one in Silver Spring, and this location in Capitol Hill. Their menu offers Neapolitan pizza, pastas, and regional seafood and meat entrees. We came here for a working lunch, and we ordered: +Calamari Fritti - served with tomato sauce and lemon; the batter was light, and I loved that they had a lot of the 'legs'! +Eggplant Fritti with Burrata - large slices of fried eggplant, topped with tomato sauce and lemon aioli; the eggplant was mushy, but the burrata was a nice touch +Cheese Tortellini - prepared with mushrooms, spinach, artichokes, shaved Parm, and black pepper; we added salmon to this; they outsource the tortellini +the Creamy Tuscan Ravioli - prepared with sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, garlic, white wine, cream, and shaved Parm with lemon; we added shrimp to this; they outsource the ravioli +and, the Blackened Chicken Linguine - a cajun-seasoned chicken breast on top of housemade linguine, dressed in a garlic Parm cream; the chicken was a bit overcooked and dried out; the sauce was great, but could have been more generous in the amount Service was friendly, and the place itself is cute and intimate; it's dim-lit, and there are also a few tables outside for those who would like to have an al fresco experience. Everybody working at Pacci's was warm and welcoming. The dining room is small and cozy in scale and the bar offers a good option for people who are just there for a drink or dining alone and prefer not being at a table alone. Right now, in May of 2025, the bar is not actually able to be used for serve alcohol but they are working on getting their liquor license issues sorted out. For dinner i had a barramundi piccata dish with garlic spaghetti. It was straight up fantastic and my favorite meal of the 3 days I spent in DC. Crispy skin fried fish is such a frequently discussed issue on cooking reality shows I wonder if it's a near universal goal for chefs but in any case, ACTUALLY serving crispy skin fish on a steaming plate of hot pasta is not easy but they nailed it. My take away from this visit would be that you don't need to go downtown to get a memorable Italian meal and the relaxed family friendly atmosphere of Pacci's is a welcome break from the stress of DC. read more

The restaurant is a smaller Italian place. There is some seating on the main level, but they also have an upstairs. It feels classic home style Italian inside. We sat outside at a table under an umbrella. When we got there and sat down it was windy, but beautiful. Right after our food came it started down pouring! Sideways rain came crashing down. Luckily, unlike the other customers we had an umbrella at our table and avoided getting wet. They still checked on us multiple times to make sure that we were okay outside. The service was friendly and they were there when we needed them, but didn't hover. The food was amazing. I got the chefs special which was the lobster ravioli with a crab and shrimp saffron cream sauce. I don't even care for lobster and thought it was SO GOOD. It was really well prepared. I also got the caprese to start and it was probably one of the best I have ever had. The flavors were amazing. I ended my meal with a cannoli and OMG. It was so hard to stop eating it (I didn't lol). They didn't have their liquor license at the time we visited, which they called and told us about ahead of time to make sure we didn't want to cancel our reservation. It was nice of them to give us a heads up. Instead of alcohol, I got a cappuccino and it was tasty. I would 100% go back again to try more dishes. My daughter and I ate a late lunch here on our big adventure from Nova to DC. I was on the hunt for a compromise restaurant that had a pepperoni and meatball pizza and items I was interested in. I had my eye on the charcuterie appetizer, which the waiter said was big enough for 4, so he asked the chef if I could get a smaller portion and he created a lunch size! The service made our lunch special. My daughter devoured her pizza before I got a picture, but she especially enjoyed the thick big pieces of meatballs and pepperoni - plenty of toppings. My charcuterie was beautifully presented but seemed to have oil over the cheese and meats which I didn't care for (personal preference). I went to Pacci for the first time with an organization I'm part of. I unfortunately arrived late due to differing circumstances. One thing I've noticed was that the online menu was very different than the physical menu at the restaurant, which threw me off because I told my colleagues to place an order for me. Luckily, I was able to stop my order from being placed & waited until I got there for my main. I finally arrived & placed my entree order. The dish itself was pretty decent but not the best I've ever had unfortunately. The Octopus (appetizer), while a little pricey, had no dressing for the side salad that came with it. Just a lemon wedge. I found it to be odd. The chicken & mushroom (I think Chicken Marsala) dish was okay too, but not impressive. I will say that it was very filling & I took the other half home. The tiramasu is fantastic & I'd definitely order it again. I wouldn't mind exploring the menu again & the ambiance especially upstairs, seem to be that of a date night. It's not loud so that's good. We ate here two times. First we picked up takeout because our visiting family have a hard time walking. The food from the take out was so fabulous that my husband and I made a reservation to go and eat at the restaurant. I had the best Chicken Marsala I have ever had. I liked it as take out so much, I ordered again at the restaurant. The serving each time was enough for two meals for me. Of course I had to have some pizza bread with it! Yum! My husband had the cheese and spinach ravioli for his take out dinner. But wanted to try the Spaghetti and Meatballs for our in restaurant dinner. Both were great choices. He did love those meatballs though! He said they were the best he's ever had. Everyone at the restaurant was so nice and pleasant. The interior of the restaurant was lovely! It is a lovely room but no sound proofing - it was so loud on a Saturday night we had to ask our server to repeat the specials 3 times! We also had a hard time talking with our friends. Two visits here. Both were great experiences while sitting at the bar. Today, I had the Pacci Salad, Spaghetti with Meatballs, and Chocolate Cake. Before this, I also had the Pacci Salad, Wild Boar Tagliatelle, and the Limoncello Cake. Great meals...all three courses were superb. I'm a big fan of their Paccie Salad. Lots of good ingredients. I like the Wild Boar best of all on the menu. The Spaghetti and Meatballs were tasty. The meatballs were especially good. ** As a tip, most dishes come with the Parmesan cheese already on top. I'm not a big fan of this, so this time, I asked for it on the side. That's now my go-to ask. Great desserts here. The Mousse and Limoncello Cake are fantastic. The Chocolate Cake was good. Good ole Yelp helped me find this restaurant. My friend really wanted to go to Olive Garden, so I did her one better and chose this authentic Italian restaurant. It is definitely a neighborhood spot and it was busy the entire time we were there. I was able to make a reservation same day in the afternoon. The food was amazing. Service was stellar. I had the Pacci salad with salmon, and it was so unique and tasty. The pears and nuts added a fresh twist, and the salmon was perfectly grilled. Then we, finished with the dark chocolate cake . After years and years and years and years of waiting for Pacci's to open just off of Lincoln Park in a space that's been many restaurants, Pacci's is here! Even though they have a bar and dining room, we called to schedule pick up. After 10 minutes on a Friday evening, we picked up our pizza and lasagna. My friend loved their lasagna and the portion was sizeable. I ordered the La Diavola pizza with spicy salami and it was excellent. We went here for the first time last night & were very happy with our experience. What really made the evening for us was the staff's eagerness to please its customers. We were initially seated downstairs. It wasn't a comfortable space. It felt like what it was . . . a basement. No light coming in, exposed vents. We ordered our drinks & an appetizer & then I decided to ask if we could move outside. A proactive waiter said that we could & then brought a table outside for us because all the tables were filled. Eating outside was lovely! (The main dining room on the first floor wasn't appealing either. It seemed very loud. We hear that there will be a dining space on the second floor soon.) We also were very happy with our food. The cheese & oil on our caprese salad had great flavor. For my entree I had the wild boar tagliatelle, which was excellent. Dare I say it but Pacci's may be one of my favorite restaurant in DC, perhaps even my number one! Step into this cozy little row house-converted-to-a-restaurant and you're instantly greeted by wonderful smells and kind and friendly staff who are ready to list off the long list of specials and make choosing what you want for dinner even harder. The appetizer bread was divine. Divine I tell you! I can't explain you need to just try (we, in fact, had to order two rounds - it was that good). I ordered the white pizza loaded with veggies and continued to be impressed by the delicious food that was before me. It was perfect for sharing (or eating on your own if you're up for it). I will be back soon because I must also try the pasta. I almost hesitate to post this review because I'd love to keep this place for myself, but I must do what's right and alert the masses to this wonderful little spot right next to Lincoln Park.
