Flame and Cones

Flame and Cones

I remembered I had won an IG/YELP collabo giveaway and decided to cash in!…read more This place is located in the miXT Food Hall located in Brentwood. I see the restaurants have changed since we've first visited this food hall and flame & cones sits back in the corner where I remembered was once a juice bar. There was only 1 person working and God bless him! He had absolutely no idea what was referencing or talking about so he called his manager to confirm. Found it interesting that the manager of the phone, name Chris also had quite a few questions as well being that Chris Whiting is who issued my vouchers lol Nonetheless after confirming we placed our orders and waiting at the bar in the middle to the establishment. I just opted for a water and unsweetened tea with lemon. From where we were sitting, there was another burger spot in the place that I remembered MUSH to be, & I also placed an order for some fries while we waited. There was a live band playing which some patrons were excited to see. Pretty lively on a Saturday evening. Clean...you have options. From pizza, to burgers, tacos, a seafood restaurant quite a variety. Anyhoo- our pizzas- I was pretty impressed. My veggie pizza was yummy! And the hubs enjoyed his meat lovers "beef" option. The toppings were fresh, the sauce was delicious. I could see us coming back for some yummy pizza! Happy Yelping!

Pizzeria Paradiso Hyattsville - National Pizza: Boom! Roasted Special Pizza

TL;DR: $8 for a few onion slices! I've been a Pizzeria…read moreParadiso customer for 20 years, first at the Dupont and Georgetown locations. So I was thrilled when one opened up in Hyattsville, not far from where I live. My partner and I have been there many times over the past few years and have always enjoyed it. But we were flabbergasted by our most recent experience. The food is as good as it ever was, but the value just isn't there. We were in on a Wednesday night and noticed a table sign for a special: two large pies and two appetizers for $60, so we ordered that. We each had one drink as well, and split a dessert. The bill came to over double that amount! We have paid less when eating in fine dining establishments. Why was our bill so high? Two main reasons: first because the upcharge for an additional topping is $4 each. I would expect that for fancy meat or cheese, but we only added red onion slices. Onions are one of the cheapest things in the supermarket, and $8 will buy a lot of onions. But I guess that's on us for not noticing that all additional toppings are the same (high!) price. Also, PP automatically adds a 20% charge in lieu of a tip. I have mixed feelings about that (and about the increases in tip culture in general). Our service was fine but not exceptional. Sadly, we will think hard before returning to PP. There are many other good pizza places out there.

This location offers both inside and outside dining, has a kids corner inside and play area outside and is walkable to a number of local shops. The pizza is tasty and reasonably priced and they have beautiful art from local artists on the walls available for purchase. We will be back!

I love Andy's pizza and sadly, I frequent this location so much now, the pizza is always spot on,…read morebut the location is a bit chaotic, especially on the weekends. I feel there can be more order, as it pertains to ordering in line and picking up online orders. There's no clear signs on online ordering and on my last visit, it just got very chaotic. As I mentioned, I love the pizza here, but recently tried the wings and they just weren't my favorite. Didn't think they were very flavorful and I was actually a little disappointed because I love the pizza here so much. Just don't feel like I'll be straying away from the pizza again. My last critique is for a place this popular that makes so much money, I feel that their food packaging is awful. They usually give two slices in one flimsy paper like pizza box and it's just very difficult to carry. Surely, there's a better container system for something like that, or they can put one slice in each container. As I mentioned, I also ordered the wings recently and I also felt that container was super flimsy. It just feels cheap and as most people are taking out of this location, I think there could be better packaging for to go orders.
