The traditional cheese, spinach&artichoke, margherita, and portabella mushroom are divine; the spinach dip could use a little work but still tasty; and the mozzarella sticks are superb. They have a B1G1 traditional cheese deal on Uber, what a great way to drum up business! Definitely a solid choice for delicious pizza. The crust is a little chewy the next day, so it's better to use an air fryer instead of the microwave. I promise you won't be disappointed. read more

I've been patronizing this place for at least the 10 years or so they've been open. It's probably been even longer! They are such an established institution in the community and everybody loves their pizzas! My personal favorite is the spinach artichoke with a little prosciutto on top. They also have salads and other Italian Delicacies all at very good prices. They also sell pizza by the slice which is very nice as my child always wants a slice of pizza so whenever we walk by, I have to get her one! I have had consistently good food from this restaurant. Pizza, sandwiches, chicken parm, mozzarella sticks, gyros, salads... You name it. I've never been to the shop: I always get it delivered. This is one of my go-to delivery options as they have such a broad menu that it's almost impossible to not find something you want to eat. Plus, in lieu of bread, the restaurant will instead throw in a slice of cheese pizza. Always a pleasant surprise. My only real issue with this place is the delivery drivers. They do the bare minimum, but are very aggressive in insisting on tips. If I have to walk out of my house, down the street, across the street, or to the end of the block to meet you because you're too lazy to find the address or deliver my food to my door, no tip. Simple as that. In addition, I don't think it's appropriate for drivers to ask for tips; They are given at the customer's discretion. It's definitely not enough to stop me from ordering from here again, but something to be mindful of if you place an order for delivery. read more

My wife's favorite sandwich is the la villa chicken sandwich minus the cheese and extra veggies (at no extra charge) and light mayo. They make it perfectly and consistently every time. I've ordered the cheese bread once. It's basically a small pizza without sauce and extra cheese. I'd rate it B+ and better than your average cheese breadsticks. For a good pizza deal, order their 2 large 2-topping pizzas using their yelp coupon. $21. Great deal with generous toppings too. Seems like most D.C. pizza shops have one (smaller) pizza for $15-18. No reason to order from dominos or other chains when you have a great locally-owned pizza shop like this one. I've ordered their small Greek salad which is $5. It comes in a small clear plastic container, which is deceptively small since they manage to stuff a lot of veggies into it. When placed on a dinner plate it is definitely a lot of salad. And the veggies were all super fresh. Bonus - it also comes with a slice of cheese bread although it is not mentioned on the menu. I've ordered their fries once. Good deal and and generous portion, but the fries were delivered a bit soggy. I probably wouldn't order it again. Otherwise I'd probably have to quickly toast them before eating. Their wings are solid. Big juicy wings with good sauce. I prefer my wings on the crispier side, but theirs is more like broiled wings with softer skin. Not bad for delivery wings. Their wings and pizza combo deal is a good value. Delivery time is pretty quick. I'm 1.7 miles away, and the order comes to me in about 35-40 minutes after placing my order at 6:30pm. It's certainly decent pizza for the price, and is a pretty good choice for quick food in the neighborhood. In the last week of moving into the neighborhood, we've been hungry for something quick and have ordered from here many days (both for ourselves, family members visiting, and even for some lunch fuel for our movers). For under $10 you get a large, 2 topping pizza for carry-out -- that is pretty hard to beat! Although there is an EXTENSIVE list of possible toppings, not all of them are created equal. I was excited to see roasted eggplant as an option the first time I came in to place an order, but upon receiving the pizza and trying it, it was clear that the eggplant was not a wise choice. It was completely undercooked and we ended up picking most of it off the 'za. Sad. We've had better luck with the sun dried tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, and pepperoni. It usually takes about 15 minutes from the time you place your order until you can pick up, and I've only had one snafu when they messed up my order and I had to wait an additional 10 minutes or so. Overall, La Villa Pizzeria is a fine option in the neighborhood and I'm sure we will be giving it a lot of business over the years! read more

I am puzzled by the number of negative reviews. This place is consistently the best delivery pizza in town. My order this evening was scheduled to take 45 minutes and got here in a half hour, perfectly cooked, everything correct. I order the meat lovers pizza about once a month and love it. All my friends love it too. Tip: when you order a small pizza, the proportion of cheese is just right. But when you order a large, They do not put the same proportion of cheese - it is worth it to order extra cheese in that case. I came during dinner rush on saturday night and i was surprised on how fast the food came out, There was this young man at the counter very polite and even though calls were coming in back to back he made sure everything was to my liking before I left. Scam artists. You think you're ordering from 14th St, but the delivery actually comes from North Capitol St. They tell you 50 minutes for delivery, but 90 minutes later still no food. A refund doesn't cut it. they've ruined a lunch for 5 people, and now we have to come up with an alternate plan and wait an additional hour. Ordered tonight figured I would try somewhere new based on some of the reviews . The pizza looked amazingly cheesy and it was hot... I tasted it, it was mehhh sauce was thin and lacked good flavor. When the moon hits the sky like a La Villa pizza pie, that's... a cheese catastrophe! Run for your lives! Seriously, I've now ordered La Villa twice from LivingSocial and each time de-socked me (knocked them clean off). The first time I dipped my toe in the water with a small cheese-and-pepperoni. The only negative aspect of the ordering/eating experience was the devastation to the roof of my mouth which occurred as the result of the rash haste with which I stuffed handfuls (the small size's slices are easy to keep from oiling all over your hands) of pizza into my maw after opening the jungle-steamy box of fresh ingredients in a gooey sea of mozzarella. The next time I was bolder in my pizza choice (garlic and herb/non-tomato-based sauce with green olives and onions) and I approached its heat more carefully. Picture the final diner scene from Pulp Fiction, but replace the mysterious briefcase filled with gold light with a pizza box, and replace Samuel L. Jackson with Cookie Monster - that's what opening a La Villa pizza box is like. The deserts were the exact same cannoli and tiramisu I've ordered at other DC delivery places, so they're clearly bought from some vendor, but they're fine - especially if you're very intoxicated or trying, after a full pizza meal, to make your stomach explode. This is not some wafer-crust artisanal whatever. Don't go nuts and tell your aunt to drive out from Ohio to get a slice. It is, however, the best American neither-NY-nor-Chicago-style I've had in DC. If it's not hipster enough for you, try a white pizza with a bottle of Merlot, or a red pizza with a Beaujolais, and put on a balad about a teary break-up by some Australian kid in skinny jeans. By the beard of great Parthenope, you must try this pizza. Note: I keep asking them to draw something awesome on the pizza box and they haven't obliged yet, but I could tell that's just because they're hesitant to be goofy with a crazy person. Help me out. Order something with a request like "draw a dragon on the box" so that they know it's a noble artistic tradition we're inviting them to, not some sort of prank. read more

La Villa is one of my favorite places for delivery. Delivery is super fast and the delivery guys are always friendly, polite and will close the gate behind them. Ive ordered during a snow storm and they still came to the door with a smile. Our favorites: the breadsticks with marinara, the la villa salad, house salad, the "garlic bread" which seems like white pizza, the chicken paradiso sandwich, the napoli sandwich and the chicken caesar wrap. The pizza is a hit or miss. I would be wary of ordering a salad with added chicken. It was extremely salty and gave me a headache that lasted a few hours. The calzones are salty too. The only pasta Ive tried was the spinach ravioli and it was undercooked. I guess it depends on who is in the kitchen that day but my favorites are always great. read more

Quickly becoming one of my favorite pie spots. Quality of the toppings is extremely high across the board and thoughtfully prepped. Ricotta is herbed, flavorful, and applied in small dollops so you tend to get a bit with nearly every bite. Prosciutto is diced and similarly well distributed. The tomato sauce is outstanding. It's a little sweet and a little more than you find elsewhere, but I happen to like it that way. If you order pesto know that they replace tomato sauce with it. Some places you find it added as a topping but this is a wholesale replacement. Not at all a knock, it was delicious, but does make it a bit oily. My only knock would be the edge of the crust, which is coated with cornmeal, which isn't my favorite, but that's a personal preference. Size of the pie is generous, delivery is quick and consistent.
