I am surprised I haven't been to this location sooner. H Street has improved a bit over the years. I would try to visit during the day or park close to the restaurant. The areas that used to have free parking are mostly metered now. The dining area is small and still closed due to covid. The restaurant accepts online orders, calls or just walking in. The employee was quite nice. A customer was rude to the employee for no reason. The employee was decent to him. The pizza was delicious. There are weekly specials. Grabbed a 8" vegetable pizza to go. Pizza came out fast and hot. Price reasonable, staff friendly, and inside dining area was clean and organized. Pizza is square which makes it easier to eat. The crust was more a medium type just a little thicker than a thin crust. Crust was good, slightly crisp and a good proportion to toppings. The amount of sauce was just right and not overwhelming, and had a slight sweet taste. The original MD location and now a chain of over 90+ restaurants, have been around since the early 1950's. This "cheap-and-addictive", "tried-and-true" local pizza chain...puts a whole new spin on the traditional circular standard of pizza you normally find in the area. It's all square! Just thinking about the little flavorful, cheesy squares brings tears to my eyes while writing this review. It is a pure indulging, guilty pleasure and joy that will make anyone's cheat day worth the splurge. From the plethora of toppings piled high on top of the mouth-watering tangy-sweet sauce, oozing with a blend of mozzarella/provolone cheese......to the flaky, buttery French pastry dough-like crusts that's like munching on a soft cronut with crispy edges....its insatiable and will have you coming back for more! A foodies "thirst trap" at it's finest....The Ledo's menu is quite large, featuring appetizers, soups, salads, sub sandwiches, and Italian entrees like Chicken Parmesan, Calzones, Stromboli, and Fettucini Filomena...to name a few. The smallest comes in nine pieces and is perfect for one person. My sausage and cheese pizza was perfect with plenty of tomato sauce. It was tasty AND cheap ($9.50- cheapest pizza in town). The only complaint about this location is that the service was slow, friendly, but slow. It took thirty minutes for us to get our pizzas. Let's start this review starting that this is their second day of operation and they do primarily on the job training so no week of soft openings for family friends etc... Just birth in fire. With that in mind they did a great job. For those more recent to the DC area, Ledo's is a famous chain of pizza restaurants in the DC suburbs. Not sure how many city locations they have but this definitely feels more like a quick place to order rather than the family pizzeria you would spend a long time with family and kids running around. To the important stuff... The pizza is quite good. Coming from the Detroit area I'm a fan of square pizzas especially when they don't have large crusts and this Ledo's does that great. The crust is quite crispy largely due to it being a fairly thin pizza, which I also appreciate so it isn't as heavy. The cuts are between 2-3 inches square each, which is pretty easy to pick up and eat without toppings falling off. The pizza sauce (Ledo's sauce) is tasty if a bit on the sweet side. One thing about square pizzas I don't care for are the middle sides... no crust! I knew this going in so that is OK. I also really like that if you get regular pepperoni they put one thick slice in the center of each square. It has been hard to find pizza my wife likes (food snob) but I think this might really work for her. I'll have to do an update after she tries it. Lastly they don't deliver yet and the online ordering isn't working. They are guessing a month or two for the ordering and delivery following that. They do take phone orders and were very busy ok their second day so I highly recommend calling in for take it orders. The only reason for the 4* instead of the 5 is the wait but it is totally understandable. I'm pretty sure I'll be giving them 5 in the future. Give them a try and welcome them to H St! read more

I went there last night and bought a small pizza and wings. I ask for extra sauce the girl handed me my pizza and it had a putrid smell. Then I asked her for two marinara sauce to go and and the top on both of them was red ash to explode. When I got home I opened the pizza the smell coming front the pizza was so putrid. Ledo Pizza is a chain, started in our very own Maryland. We ordered two medium (14") pizzas - buffalo chicken and pesto. Their site states that each 14" rectangular pizza serves 2-4, but they're huge and easily serve at least four people. The buffalo chicken was awesome, and much tastier/better price point than Pizza Walay, also located on H Street Corridor. We also ordered mozzarella sticks, which were delicious. However, usually when I order a pesto pizza, I expect pesto to be used instead of the traditional marinara sauce. Ledo's version of pesto pizza was to drizzle pesto sauce on a traditional plain pizza. Kinda weird? And wouldn't recommend. All in all, solid pizza spot and would recommend overall! read more

People that don't agree Ledo's is the king of chain pizza places are people that I don't understand. Is this gourmet pizza? No. Is it made with organic ingredients? Definitely not. Is there a purpose to the interior pieces that don't have at least one side of flakey buttery crust goodness? Unclear. Ledo's is good suburbs pizza and for a lot of us that grew up in the DMV area some of the love we have for Ledo's might be a touch of nostalgia. After waiting for what felt like too long, the Ledo's on H finally opened. Last weekend I called in my order for a 14" (plenty of food for 2) and a salad. Although my order was ready when I got there 20 minutes later, one of the new H street luxury condo dwellers (that still looks out of place in the neighborhood) was shrieking about why his pizza wasn't ready despite ordering 30 minutes ago and shooting dirty looks back into the kitchen. Relax nerd. This is Ledo's and your pizza will be ready when the fine folks in back are completed with your masterpiece. Is it possible that they forgot to put your order in--sure, but that's half the adventure in coming here. Anyway, $18 and change for the salad and pizza with 2 toppings can't be beat. The banana peppers had a nice bite of acid to them, which only heightened the flavor of the single pepperoni that is placed meticulously on each slice. The sauce had a nice sweetness, good cheese coverage, and we all know about dat crust. Only problem with the meal was that my wife went right for the corner and edge pieces instead of taking her fair share of the floppy guys in the middle. Not cool. I often hear complaints that Ledo's doesn't deliver, but frankly Ledo's doesn't have to bother with delivery when people like myself will always be willing to make the trip in. read more

Horrible service and sub par food. I had to wait over 35 minutes for a small pizza that they said would be ready in 10 min. It was not busy...there were employees everywhere just standing around. The pizza that I received had no sauce on it. When I called them to rectify my order, they told me there was nothing they can do---no refunds and no remakes. I had to go back to the store (mind you there was a torrential down pour outside) and speak to the manager to finally get my $9 back. Unfortunately, I will never be able to get my time back. I tried to call in an order to pick up, but was rudely put on hold several times, after going directly voicemail a few times. "Hold please...((click!))" Finally decided to head there and place an order and found the problem. Just poor, rude, distracted (personal convos) and unacceptable customer service. Someone has to explain to the manager what will happen to business if people up front aren't trained to multi-task or even care that calls are dropping and it's not even super busy.
