Great spot to catch a game on the weekend, though seating is limited. The restaurant has two floors with the upstairs being for larger parties. We ordered a burger, wings, and a mix of fries and onion rings. The burger was cooked a bit more than I prefer but it was still enjoyable. The real standouts were the wings. We tried the mango habanero and the Old Bay honey. Both were excellent, with the mango habanero carrying a nice kick and a saucier finish while the Old Bay honey had a great balance of sweet and savory. The onion rings were crispy. The seasoned fries were fine, though they weren't "seasoned" Overall, I would definitely come back for the wings. Hung out here for Tuesday karaoke night and after three songs I can confidently say Wingo's is a supportive atmosphere. It's kind of tricky to do wings and karaoke simultaneously (the sticky fingers!), but you have to figure out how to juggle your singing and eating time. The karaoke hosts make signing up easy with a QR code. Other bars probably use the same program, but the song list is very current. Karaoke starts right at 8pm. Early in the night is best to do multiple songs. Because it's so close to Georgetown, and essentially GW and AU, you get the younger crowd coming in later, but karaoke is still fun! They picked ABBA and Billy Joel, among current artists. My friend and I got 20 wings, half and half Old Bay and Honey BBQ. Hot inside a takeout box, the wings came out quickly after we ordered. I wish they gave you more napkins to start, like more than two, but at least we got a wet wipe. They gave us more after we asked. My friend and I also got margaritas, a $7 special that night. Only had this for delivery so can't speak to the interior or the service. That being said, the quality of the wings and the sauces was really subpar. Although the delivery was very fast, the wings were already very soggy and not at all crispy by the time they got to us. They just didn't seem very fresh. As for the flavors, they were all over the place. The teriyaki was fine, seemed like the standard sticky and viscous grocery store brand. The "hot garlic" was bland and not very spicy at all. It seemed more like a watered down buffalo with a touch of garlic added. The Jamaican jerk was totally unbalanced and had a very strong cardamom flavor that was overwhelming. Lastly, the "boneless" wings were chicken nuggets... I know boneless wings don't really exist, but at this point I think it's generally implied that they mean chicken tenders. These were just sad and seemed like some Tyson's nuggets I'd get from the frozen aisle. Overall, I won't be trying Wingo's Glover Park or any other locations anytime soon. read more

The boneless wings were way smaller than I thought they would be for the price, but crispy. The garlic park was overloaded with butter which made them nearly inedible to me while the Mano sauce didn't taste like the mambo I'm used to. Again however, my partner enjoyed them. The apps were all good. The mozzarella sticks are clearly made in house and we're delish. The potato skins were fresh although they needed more sour cream. Onion rings were top notch. Well... I was craving mozzarella sticks later night while staying at the Washington Hilton and did a door dash search based on arrival time and ratings. Came up with Wingo's who does their own Door Dash delivery. . This place said 19 minutes when I placed the order at 10:28. Waited until 11:16 (48 minutes) watching the door dash app keep ticking off a later arrival minute by minute. Called restaurant at 10:58 (30 minutes in) and was assured order was leaving the store -8 minute drive). Still didn't arrive until 11:16 and then had a HEINZ marinara pack. At one point around 10:45 app showed it was on its way "on time"' then changed to "preparing your order" for the next 25 minutes. Ugh. At least provide your own marinara if I have to wait 50 minutes for your 20 minute promise. Sticks were lukewarm but good. Sauce was Heinz . Driver was sweet. During the peak of the pandemic, I ordered once with a friend from this place, and it was so closed off, I didn't think much of it. The wings were good, but being where it was, I didn't expect to come often, so I hadn't thought of it again --- until I was about 5 minutes away one random Tuesday night and it somehow crossed my radar. I was meeting up with my best friend who was in town, and after our initial meetup spot, the night was still young and we found out that Wingo's had karaoke and all night specials! So we went on over, and I was shocked to see how big the place is. So we heard the singing upstairs, so we told the host we'd go on up there. And we took advantage of the $6 all night margarita special -- no food since I was already full. The bartender was extremely nice, and the karaoke was a blast! If I had anything to complain about, it'd be that the lyrics screen was facing away from the audience and that service got slow at times -- but it was one guy and the entire 2nd floor was full. For people who love a little bit of heat, I would say that the hot BBQ was more on the mild side so feel free to go even higher on the heat chart! I also ordered the Hoya Burger, and was very pleasantly surprised by how amazing it tasted! This burger came with fresh avocados, lettuce, onion, pepper hack cheese, and bacon. It tasted so fresh and juicy, I'll have to get another one soon! Giving Wingo's a respectable 3* considering I only had experienced one flavor of their wings. A classic local wing bar in Grover Park that produces pretty standard wings. I can't say they are noticeably larger than traditional wings nor are they more unique flavor-wise. The wings don't necessarily stand out as more novel or unique than the next wing spot. They have a wide variety of heat levels and flavors to choose from which you'd expect from restaurant that features wings. On this occasion I purchased their Hot Garlic wings which were delicious. A very traditional atmosphere on the inside. Overall an OK experience. If I am in the area again I will stop by and try their tenders and sandwiches. A year in and Wingo's still going strong. A lot of the executional issues that I had problems with have gotten fixed since my terrible first impression. My least favorite sauces are no longer as off putting, plus I think they're doing a better fry job on their wings, as even my sauced ones maintain a little bit of crispness when I bring my takeout home. Side note, I'm a sucker for boneless wings, and I do think they've been generous with the count, given the price. So Wingos was good and it was my go-to during the late night for delivery while I was in DC. Both times the food was fresh, fries were great and their combos come with a drink AND lemonade was an option (vs. just soda)--winning! I can't remember the exact flavors I ordered, but they were good. My only compliant and reason for the 3 stars is because during the second time ordering, I specifically asked for light sauce. In the first order, my wings were swimming in sauce and y'all know how I feel about that so I was intentional on telling them to "calm down" during my second purchase. Well that request was not heard AT ALL. I was extremely irritated as I removed my wings from the swimming pool of sauce; I DON'T DO SMOTHERED WINGS! Pork chops, beef tips, even chicken can be smothered, but NOT hot wings. I spent two weeks in D.C. and the poor staff had to deal with my drunk ass stumbling in every other night about 35 minutes before closing. I was staying close by, and Wingo's was my saviour many times after nights out drinking. We've all been there: passing is out on the horizon, but you just need MAYBE one more beer and some righteous food in your tummy. Wingo's was my solution. Not gonna lie: their child cheese dog with fries was cost-effective and generously portioned. They have a good selection of draft beer and the Kona Big Wave was my beer of choice.
