This restaurant comes highly recommended on Yelp and is just a short walk from the hotels downtown - even in the rain, the walk is worth it! We arrived to a line out the door on a Friday night but we only waited around 25 minutes for a table. The seating inside is plentiful and the atmosphere is loud but cozy and fun - family friendly and enjoyable. We enjoyed the most amazing food - Fontina Vodka Penne (with Shrimp), Kale & Romaine Caesar Salad, Whiskey & Aged White Cheddar Burger, 20oz Bone-in Ribeye. The steak and burger were cooked to perfection, the sauces were outstanding and the Caesar salad was by far the best out of all of this listed. The bar selection and beer selection were amazing - the menu clearly highlights the types of beer into each category which helps make a decision much faster. The Cider on tap was so good. The service was good- they were very busy so refills and checking in on us took a bit longer, but it was understandable and we didn't have any issues at all. They definitely are generous with the chicken and I was glad because it was well seasoned and fried perfectly. This was my first time at Yard House and will certainly be my last at this location. I came with a coworker during our lunch today. We sat at the bar and placed our orders. It wasn't packed at all, but it still took over 20 minutes for anything to come out (our food came out before our drinks), and I think it's only because the manager came to check on us. I ordered traditional wings, but I received boneless. When I told our server, Tenai, there was no apology or remorse, just a look at the receipt saying it said traditional. The wings were decent, but not what I wanted, but I had to take them due to time. My coworker asked for some garlic aioli sauce to go, and even that was met with a sigh, like she was being asked for so much. When we asked for the check, I was still being charged for the traditional wings. This should have been rectified way before us getting the check. One important note is that there is no happy hour on game nights across the way at the arena and that's a shame. That's reason for one automatic star loss. It's always pretty good. I've never had a bad experience here. The bartenders are normally very engaging so that brings up the experience. We came here for a quick bite before we headed out to the game. We didn't have a wait time and the staff got us seated fairly quickly. The ambiance was yard house, since they are a chain restaurant. Our waitress was busy between us and a few other tables and the bar took awhile to make our drinks. Moving along to the food I wish we knew we could order our food sooner, we could've saved our waitress some time by putting the app orders in (which is all we ate) besides a side of fries. The queso dip was great of course and dipping the fries in there was also a good mix. The buffalo wings were absolutely tossed in the sauce and you could taste the heat of the buffalo. If are a fan of beers, sports, and good vibes, then this Yard House location is for you. Also, if you have been to other Yard Houses, then you should not expect any surprises here. First up, this Yard House has a very generous happy because many appetizers and pizzas are half off, and beer, wine and cocktails are $2 off. I think there are over 10 items on the half off appetizer menu, so you can have a decent meal on the cheap. My personal favorites are the Poke Nachos and Fried Calamari. Be aware, the appetizers are pretty huge which makes them great to share. While the food may not be absolutely amazing, it gets the job done...especially for the price. Also, the menu is HUGE with various sandwiches, pizzas, steaks, salads, etc. You name it, they have it. Since it's located in a central part of D.C., YardHouse is a great meet up spot before going else if you choose. Our bartender/server was awesome and great at making small talk and ensuring that we were well taken care of. While the bartender that served us was pretty amazing, I'll say that some folks on the service team were a bit unprofessional. On several occasions, two servers would come to bar to pick up drink orders for their tables. Of course, this is perfectly normal. But, the manner in which they were speaking about their customers really rubbed me the wrong way. I get that you might want to blow off some steam after dealing with a bad (or not so great) customer, however, I thought the language was a bit inappropriate. I went here for lunch with some co-workers the service was excellent, I unfortunately do not remember the waitress's name. One had the bacon cheeseburger wrapped in lettuce they started it was juicy and cooked correctly, another had the fish tacos they said they were ok nothing exceptional. Popped in for some carryout. While waiting I grabbed a Espresso martini at the bar. The place was pretty busy on a Sunday around 12:30 pm. My service was quick and friendly at both the carryout desk and the bar. The place is basically a sports bar so it had different games going on all over the place.
