The food at this restaurant was amazing. I ordered the chicken and waffles and the serving was a very nice size. They definitely are generous with the chicken and I was glad because it was well seasoned and fried perfectly. One important note is that there is no happy hour on game nights across the way at the arena and that's a shame. That's reason for one automatic star loss. There's mad events at Capital One Arena and for them to just cancel happy hour because something is happening down the street is nasty corporate America work. Now on to the food. It's always pretty good. I've never had a bad experience here. The bartenders are normally very engaging so that brings up the experience. Always try to get a seat at the bar because it's the most interesting. Table experiences remind you of just a regular casual dining experience. read more

Good for big groups! Over the last few months I've been in for happy hour with at least 10 and they were able to easily accommodate us. The happy hour specials are good. Not many happy hours around these days so it's nice to see this place thriving! I recently had the midnight sangria (red wine + remy). I only had one! It was nice and strong! Select apps are 50% off. The service was a bust - the waitress seemed to be distracted and it took her quite a while to come around to take our orders (we were sharing apps and later learned we could've just done it ourselves on the tablet that was on the table). We came here for a quick bite before we headed out to the game. We didn't have a wait time and the staff got us seated fairly quickly. The ambiance was yard house, since they are a chain restaurant. Our waitress was busy between us and a few other tables and the bar took awhile to make our drinks. Moving along to the food I wish we knew we could order our food sooner, we could've saved our waitress some time by putting the app orders in (which is all we ate) besides a side of fries. The queso dip was great of course and dipping the fries in there was also a good mix. The buffalo wings were absolutely tossed in the sauce and you could taste the heat of the buffalo. The onion ring tower was a hit as always because they were battered so well with that little chipotle sauce. Now the pineapple spritz drink was not that good as far as comparing to other hard houses I've been too. So that was disappointing. If are a fan of beers, sports, and good vibes, then this Yard House location is for you. Also, if you have been to other Yard Houses, then you should not expect any surprises here. First up, this Yard House has a very generous happy because many appetizers and pizzas are half off, and beer, wine and cocktails are $2 off. I think there are over 10 items on the half off appetizer menu, so you can have a decent meal on the cheap. My personal favorites are the Poke Nachos and Fried Calamari. Be aware, the appetizers are pretty huge which makes them great to share. While the food may not be absolutely amazing, it gets the job done...especially for the price. Also, the menu is HUGE with various sandwiches, pizzas, steaks, salads, etc. You name it, they have it. Since it's located in a central part of D.C., YardHouse is a great meet up spot before going else if you choose. Our bartender/server was awesome and great at making small talk and ensuring that we were well taken care of. While the bartender that served us was pretty amazing, I'll say that some folks on the service team were a bit unprofessional. On several occasions, two servers would come to bar to pick up drink orders for their tables. Of course, this is perfectly normal. But, the manner in which they were speaking about their customers really rubbed me the wrong way. I get that you might want to blow off some steam after dealing with a bad (or not so great) customer, however, I thought the language was a bit inappropriate. At Yard House, the service can be just as frustrating as the food. It often feels disorganized, like the staff is stretched too thin or just not on the same page. You might be seated quickly, but then wait way too long before anyone even acknowledges you. And once you do get a server, the attention can be inconsistent--drinks sit empty, orders take forever, and it's not uncommon for something to come out wrong. read more

I would suggest getting there as early in the evening as possible because it can get busy and you can't make reservations. The ambiance was sport bar vice but cleaner and more friendly oriented. The food was phenomenal. The food came out fast and it was hot. The restaurant has a variety of selections to choose from. This is one of the loudest restaurants I've ever been to. The decibel count was mid 80s with the constant blasting music. So loud the waitress got one order wrong. The manager was not able or willing to reduce the volume, blaming corporate rules. Not good for kids. We did discover a quieter room upstairs that would have been good for our kids but too late. Popped in for some carryout. While waiting I grabbed a Espresso martini at the bar. The place was pretty busy on a Sunday around 12:30 pm. My service was quick and friendly at both the carryout desk and the bar. The place is basically a sports bar so it had different games going on all over the place. My to-go order took about 30 minutes. I ordered the carnivore pizza and the Korean chili garlic wings. Everything was cooked well, full of flavor and tasty. We were here on a holiday and it was surprisingly pretty empty. Our server was wonderful. Attentive, funny, never rushed us, etc. The food menu is plentiful and always delivers. I'm a big fan of their queso. The mac and cheese is also a favorite of mine. And well, I've never had anything bad here. The beer list is just as plentiful. All kinds of options. You'll definitely find something you haven't tried before. And if beer isn't your thing, they also offer cocktails and other options. Yard House for NYE was pretty chill. The crowd wasn't bad and it was easy to get a seat at the bar. The staff was very busy but tried their best to be attentive and get our orders to us quick. I got the orange chicken and it had a great flavor but the chicken chunks were kind of small and reminded me of chicken tenders and didn't have enough sauce on them. I will not order this meal again. I also had sweet potato fries and lemon pepper wings which were good. The bar gave everyone a free flute of beer to cheers at midnight along with a noise maker. I thought it was interesting that the restaurant advertised to spend NYE with them but they also closed at 12am on the nose and were very obviously trying to encourage people to leave.
