When this place first opened we were excited and then we went and tried the food and were even more excited as they were good wings. From there on it has all been downhill. We've probably gone a good 20+ times now and the service gets worse and worse every time. It never seems to be overly busy but for some reason the staff takes forever to serve your table. I can safely say these were the best wings I have ever had! The smoked wings taste like they are actually smoked not just a smoked flavor like HoOTers. Atmosphere A sport bar/pub kind of vibe. They have a full bar in the back, the walls are littered with TV's playing various sports etc. with a fair amount of seating. Service Pretty good. More often than not we have a very attentive server. We have had a couple visits where we didn't see our server for 10-15 minutes at a time though. Doesn't happen often but it's worth noting. Food Delicious. They have a unique menu. Yes their focus is on wings but they also have poutine sliders, chicken and waffles, hamburgers and the like. They have a unique blend of sauces [raspberry chipotle, jalapeno honey mustard to name a couple] and have a variety of types of wings: Boneless, original, golden, country, grilled, and smoked. I've tried all of them and they're all delicious. I'm partial to the country style and golden wings though. They're fantastic. Overall Fantastic place if you want wings but in a more unique way. Went to this place twice. The first time was when they had just recently opened. The A/C appeared to be not working, and it was extremely hot inside. Ok, fine, stuff happens, no biggie. The waiter brought out my big mug of beer and I was perfectly content watching UFC with my boyfriend. That is, until we ordered actual food. The wings were a little subpar to say the least, and the "cheese fries" I ordered almost looked more like cheesy hash-browns. Despite the culinary disappointment, we ate our food without complaints. It was just very mediocre. The wings lacked any real flavor and the fries looked like an afterthought. Our waiter asked the man at the table next to us how the food was, and the man replied "Not very good." The waiter seemed flustered and just said "We're still working on our recipes" and walked off. Even though we weren't impressed, my beau and I decided to come back a second time due to the cheap beer mugs and the convenient location for watching UFC. We even called ahead to make sure they were still showing it, and whoever answered told me they were. We told an entire crowd of people to meet us there so we could all get seats. However, when we arrived early we were greeted by a paper on the door that said "NO UFC TONIGHT" and then something about a $10 cover from here on out on all events. I won't say anything about the cover, even if $10 is a little steep... it was just that we had hinged all of our plans on it, and now they were suddenly skipping showing a fight after telling us they would. Every time I go here, I am impressed even more. The first time, they had a slow night and were closing up early, right as we got there. However, the GM stayed open for us, and we got to chat with him while he was doing closing duties at the bar. The second time, the owner stopped by our table and chatted with us. Third time, the waitress hooked us up with extra beer because they were out of beer towers!! And EVERY time, the wings are incredible! The chicken and waffles are also awesome but WOW! They have so many incredible, out of the ordinary, flavors. Raspberry chipotle BBQ, spicy garlic, ghost BBQ, mango habanero, and buffalo ranch are delicious flavors I can vouch for, but I'm sure every other sauce is pretty awesome too! The only reason it's not 1 star is because of the main attraction... The wings. The best way to describe this place is decent and interesting. The wings were pretty decent; sometimes less is more and their variety of wings and sauces over complicate things. The Golden wings promised to be so good that there's no reason for sauce... They were actually right. It was deep fried, with no batter, skin on, and fried to perfection with the outside skin crispy and meat very juicy. However the seasoning was a bit overwhelming, it had what tasted like a hint of cumin and brown sugar, along with the usual salt n pepper. My party and I also tried their country style wings , which were butter milk battered like the traditional southern fried chicken. These wings were nice and plumpy; however the wing experience is overwhelmed and you start to feel like your eating a bucket of southern fried chicken, and it becomes way to heavy when your at this sports bar and just snacking. Yes... This is a sports bar, very deceiving when you see the signage and logo which utilizes a retro arcade type-face , which I thought was cool. But when you walk in it feels like a library with way too many flat screen tvs, boring content on the screen, and a room full of well behaved patrons... WTF!? I've never been to such a quiet and boring sports bar in my life. There were some arcade consoles, but they were tucked away by the bathroom --- it was just a weird setup and environment. Last but not least... The service and the servers... HOLY SCHITE BAWLS!!! These servers I think were the reason everyone in there looked so miserable and was quiet. They had zero personality, they switched off randomly, in other words you never knew where your server was or who it was. But maybe, that's because some were taking a break at the bar, feasting and drinking margaritas. On top of that, we invented a new game.... Not WHERES WALDO? But instead, WHERES OUR WINGZUP WAITRESS? That was probably the most fun experience we've had there. Because the waitresses had no system in their uniform, and they just seemed to avoid you. Overall, the unprofessionalism, lack of personality, and disastrous coordination of the service, in addition to the out-of-place theme of this bar, really made this an experience to avoid. In the end I won't return, but I will be fair in saying that the wings tasted fresh, the ingredients were interesting and the food came out fast. So by all means head on down for take-out, but I warn you to not stay --- you will lose a good hour and a half you will NEVER GET BACK! Lol read more

I am a huge chicken wing fan and love trying new places. I didn't expect much of Wingzup, considering their Nintendo-like logo and the fact that it's a sports bar. Despite my reservations, I decided to stray from my usual plain old hot sauce selection and try something new, and my boyfriend did the same. One word: wow. For one, why would you ever order anything but smoked wings after trying them at Wingzup? The flavor is a wonderful combination with the sauce (my boyfriend had them with spicy garlic sauce and they were delicious.) I'm just sorry they don't smoke the boneless wings, since I'm not a fan of bones. However, my spicy teriyaki wings were also incredibly tasty. We had take-out instead of eating there and they still gave us plenty of sauce and bleu cheese dressing. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the cole slaw was only so-so (the dressing had anise it, which I'm not a big fan of), and because we only had 3 items off the menu. This place smelled like sewage when we walked in, as if a toilet backed up and they've failed to clean it. My girlfriend and I independently assessed as much before stubbornly agreeing not to stay very long. We ordered up 3 flavors, 5 wings each. Two stars only because the lemon pepper wings were very good. The one poor waitress trying to work the entire restaurant and bar could not keep up, which is management's fault, not hers. The only other employee we saw sure enjoyed his smoke break with his friend out front, where they both pitched their butts on the ground. Nice. It took us more than 40 minutes to get food, which doesn't work for lunch, guys. Management needs to shape up, or at least show up. They don't seem to care about the customer experience at all. Awesome, courteous staff. Joe was really nice when I went in 20 minutes before closing and ordered wings, waffle fries and Blue Moon. Really, who likes to see a new customer 20 mins before closing? What sets this place apart from other wing places is its service. My waiter was really nice to us and didn't mind dealing with our nonsense. Food is good my favorite sauce is spicy lemon pepper but needs improvement. I came to this place with my friends in the weekend thinking that they closed at midnight since those are the online business hours. After arriving at 11:15pm they basically told us we cannot dine in and must take it to go. This is the first restaurant this has ever happened to me. I understand the staff wants to go home but I recommend the business to modify the online business hours to prevent this from happening again. So I went to eat here Saturday night, I saw the reviews and I saw that even on the negative reviews they still stated the food was good. At 7 months pregnant and craving wings I gave it a shot. We waited around 10 mins to be greeted with menus. The place was not busy but has at least 5 tables in the place with people. It was pretty nasty as far as cleanliness, almost like all the tables had that greasy film on them. The floor dirty, napkins and crumb everywhere. I even saw that there was a "do not slip" sign places on a customers jacket as he was eating. It smelled like dirty mop water and moth balls. But my boyfriend really wanted wings and so did I. Our waitress smelled pretty bad, and looked like she had not showered in a couple of days. She forgot our order so has to come back. She honestly seemed a little buzzed. But over all our amount due was correct, and I have to honestly say the food was still good. But I would definitely do To-Go if you would like to eat this food. Sometimes you want wings that aren't going to make you feel like you gained 10 pounds (coughPluckerscough). I have heard about this place and after a Friday night wing-craving, I stopped in. I called to order and the person on the phone was upbeat and a joy to talk to. I could definitely tell it was busy there due to the background noise but they didn't try to rush me or get me off the phone quickly. Said it will be about 30 minutes. Ended up being around 50 minutes to get my wings out but hey--they were packed and it was a Friday night. My wings were fresh fresh fresh fresh. Very hot, crisp and very meaty. My only complaint is that I wish my lemon pepper things had a little more lemon to them...and you kinda feel in the way when picking up a to-go order because you pick up at the bar. This place maddens me as it could really be a great wing joint but for some major issues. I frequent this place often since it opened. This place has great wings (especially boneless) with accompanying sauces (mango habenero and Jamaican jerk stand out), and the poutine is fabulous, burgers are descent as well and the food and beers are easy on the wallet. That being said there most consistent attributes are as follows: * Horrible smell: the place has a backed up sewer type smell that is always present, it does seem to lessen as you are there but first whiff is nasty. * Bad Service: They mean well (some of them) but the service is just plain bad, bar or tables doesn't really matter, you can wait 5 minutes or so before anyone gets to you All that being said I still recommend this place and will continue to go. Service does seem to be getting a little better (mean marine head bartender starting to smile) but smell is ever present. read more

We have been going to wingzup since day 1 of it's opening and we just sort of deal with the crappy service just because the wings are so good. If you're reading this, see below for the crappy reviews for the service, it's all true. There have been times where we had to get up and make ourselves known even when there weren't any other customers. Though this can be frustrating, the food made us forgive them. However, there was one instance which was incredibly disappointing. After waiting for some time, our food was served cold. We called the waiter back to heat them back up. He apologized, brought them back, and it seemed like he just put them in the microwave for a max of 15 seconds. He said the chef was willing to make a whole new batch if we requested, but we were waiting so long that we didn't bother as they were luke warm. I give Wingzup 4 stars because although we've had some pretty bad experiences in the past with the service, they seem to be more conscious of it and are trying a bit harder to improve it. They have a GREAT selection of sauces and it's a great local place to enjoy sports with nice spacious setting. read more

Still enjoy going to this place to watch a game but the service has gotten much worse -- not as friendly and slow as hell. It seems there is a lot of turnover. New servers every time I come in. They will ask, "Have you been here before?" I tell them yes, but I want to say, "Thirty or forty times. Have *you* been here before?" They used to do a Happy Hour when the Texas teams were playing: Cowboys, Texans, UT, maybe Rangers and Astros. I went in a couple months ago while the Cowboys were playing and asked one of these new servers if they were doing the "Texas Teams Happy Hour". The guy looked at me like I was nuts. He assured me that not only did they not do that, but that they never had. I said, okay, I was pretty sure that this thing did happen and I wasn't making it up. No, no, no. He again scrutinized me. Like I was trying to grift him. Look, whatever, guy, I was just asking. You don't have to give me $1 off my mug of Lone Star if you don't want. After reading Wingzup's extensive menu we were excited to take part in their Monday discount of 50 cent wings. The thought of poutine made our mouths water and the extensive list of sauces seemed like a poultry dream. But like the girl at the bar, no amount of gravy, cheese curd or blue cheese could mask the down right terrible service and piss poor attitude of the waitstaff. When we arrived we found a table for 6. There were maybe 2 other groups in our section and a few people at the bar getting rowdy over the Hooter's Bikini Contest being broadcast on the big screens. The minute we sat down we were bombarded by our waitress with drink orders. I mistook her enthusiasm for my hydration with the promise of appropriate amounts of attention during my visit. When our waitress arrived with our waters and beer she asked if she had given us menus yet. A quick glance towards our empty table could have answered her question real quick. 50 cents for wings is a great deal. We planned on taking advantage of the low cost carbs but still spared no expense when ordering appetizers and the most expensive beers on the menu. However, throughout our meal she continued to treat us like poor college students who wandered in with the money we found between the couch cushions. Our wings, when they finally arrived, were lukewarm. We received 1 plate for 3 people to split 20 wings. Even though she asked us if we wanted dressing and veggies she never brought them. We were never given silverware to eat the bowl of fries, brown gravy and Kraft cheese sticks that they called Poutine. We had to beg for water refills. She forgot our beer order. And continued to make excuses for why everyone's food was taking FOR-EV-ER. When we finally tracked her down to get the check she offered to split it. We asked for 6 separate checks. We asked if she wanted us to write down what we had each ordered to make it easier. She expressed, with confidence, that she knew who ordered what and would not require any notes. When she finally returned with the bill she had arbitrarily divided our checks into couples and had charged the wrong people for the wrong items. A few less than 15% tips later we continued to rant and rave about the lame service the whole way home. Came here for watching a NBA Finals game, and boy do they have big screen TVs. Pretty much every seat in the whole restaurant has a good view of multiple TVs, so you shouldn't miss anything. Definitely a great place to watch a sports game with some friends. Tuesdays is 50 cent boneless wings (min order of 10). The boneless wings were a pretty good size (imagine 2-3 chicken nuggets combined) and they tasted okay. Some sauces were better than others; I would recommend the garlic parmesan. The spicy teriyaki wasn't very spicy and much too sweet, and the curry was very spicy. Service was kind of slow, but our waitress was friendly. She did not check back on our table for water refills or anything for a long time.
