We walked in at 9:03 PM on a Tuesday expecting they were still open based on the posted hours, but were told they had already closed. While I understand businesses have to close at some point, what was disappointing was the way it was handled. Instead of a polite, "I'm sorry, we just closed," the hostess greeted us with a condescending, "Uh, are you meeting someone here?" The interaction came across as unnecessarily rude and left a poor first impression. Accurate business hours and a more courteous response would have made all the difference.

The ambiance was plain - so much potential for such a wooded location nestled in the hills. But the sparse decor and cold finishes and the the freezing AC just made me want to get out. The chicken is juicy and tender, and the sauce is sweet, sticky, and flavorful! Portion sizes are really good too! Big chicken!! GALBI TANG (22.95$) - It was warming and a bit sweet which was nice. The soup was savory and sweet and comforting. The beef was soft and tender too. It also came with glass noodles inside as well. SPICY PORK (18.95$) - The pork was also good. It was not spicy, so don't worry about that if you are not good with spice. The pork was tender and soft, not chewy so that was great. I loved that it was not too oily, but had the perfect amount of sauce for an infused flavorful bite. They give banchan: kimchi, fish cakes, potato, and other sides. Overall no complaints for the food! Service: Everything came out fast and hot. The staff are nice and helpful. Ambiance: Very cozy vibes. Feels authentic and homestyle. Great to go with friends or family or even as a date. Not loud.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth and such positive energy. The welcoming atmosphere, attentive service, and chill vibe made us feel right at home. Every dish we ordered was outstanding and packed with flavor. The seafood pancake was cooked to crispy perfection, something that's surprisingly hard to find, as it's often left a bit doughy at other restaurants. The steamed egg was light, fluffy, and comforting, while the spicy tofu pork soup was phenomenal. It had just the right amount of heat, with silky, melt-in-your-mouth tofu and incredibly tender pork belly that paired perfectly with a bowl of rice. What truly elevated the experience, though, was the service. At one point I accidentally dropped my chopsticks, and before I could even ask for another pair, one of the servers noticed from across the restaurant and immediately brought me a new set. It's those small, thoughtful touches that really set a restaurant apart. SOHA exceeded my expectations in every way. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Korean food with genuinely exceptional hospitality, this is the place. It has officially become a must-visit every time I'm in Austin.

I ordered the Korean sweet and spicy fried chicken which costs $30. I originally wanted to leave this review 3 stars due to the water and the cost for the portion of the plate, but couldn't since the chicken was sooooooo good! The flavor and the spice were perfect, I would come back for it. It's a must try!! The menu had a lot of items that sounded good. My friends ordered a variety of things and they all tasted amazing and wasn't as expensive as the fried chicken. The atmosphere was fun and chill for a Friday evening, lots of music videos playing on multiple screens. Towards 7pm it started filling up pretty fast and got pretty packed. I would go earlier if you don't want to wait!

We did not know anything about it, stumbled upon it while were in the area. What a delight. An amassing service. Very fast and very friendly. Good interior design, great menu to satisfy any cravings. Nice selection of appetizers waiting for you on the table. Short ribs BBQ is a must. And it goes on and on. Everything we tried was up to par. I see some reviews share a concern regarding pricing. Lunch for three hungry people including tips was $85, For amount of food and the selection you get this is not even moderately expensive, this is a very reasonable price. This is definitely a recommendation.

It took about 20-ish min to get a table on a little busy of a Saturday evening. The staff were nice, fast, and attentive. My only complaint is that we were asked if we were ready to order as soon as we sat down. It was the first time for all 4 of us so we needed time to look around. I have to note that the meat quality overall is pretty good. We got a premium beef combo for a group of 4 and added some pork belly. It was a great amount of food and we were stuffed. The beer prices are pretty good, especially for large bottles. Banchan is fresh and tasted good, the staff made effort to refill it mid-dinner. Prices for individual plates of meats are rather on a high end for about $24 for 3 slices of pork belly. Adding lettuce is a must to make ssams. If you're not a forgetful kind (hi to fellow ADHD baddies) take advantage of hiding space under your seat to keep your outer layer of clothes and a bag away from the smoke and bbq smell. A note to the management: PLEASE, make your sound system play the music from the music videos that are playing on TVs. If I get to see BTS on TV, I want to hear them too. :,) We will return some time to try more options and for a round of somaek :D

I must have driven by this restaurant whenever I was on Parmer for like 15 years ... and never got…read morearound to going in. When I finally did, I discovered one of the best Japanese restaurants in Austin. Okay ... if you are going to pay $600 for an omikase then the omikase place is better. The tasting menu at Uchi is better. But if you just want Japanese without paying a gold brick and taking out a second mortgage on your house, Miyo Yakitori and Sushi is pretty damm fine. * * * a) Japanese curry is a utility dish in most Japanese restaurants ... and when you get down to it, in most Japanese homes. It is often what you serve on "cheap" night. Airport hotels offer it as the "free dinner" for tired travellers. The curry sauce itself here is standard issue. But they serve it with a Pork Katsu the size of Williamson county. And it is a very good Pork Katsu. That Katsu was good from Liberty Hill to Thrall and from Hester's Crossing to Jarrell. b) My carnivorous partner's Fireball Udon with Shellfish blew him away. Temperature wise and aesthetic pleasure wise. He raved about how good his udon was all the way home. c) Service was instantaneous. I think there was some sort of event horizon distortion of the space time continuum that allowed them to prepare the food and then go back in time and deliver it within a minute of it being ordered. Both of us were impressed. d) The service staff was as nice as any human beings could possibly be. * * * Great food. Great service. The folks who live in the apartment complex that Miyo is in are very lucky people indeed. Either the apartments are lovely and they get Miyo on top of that. Or the apartments are terrible, but they can still spend all their time in Miyo to compensate. Seems like a fair trade. **************** If you read the other reviews, There seems to be some controversy about this establishment. Miyo has fans and Miyo has haters. * * * Here is my read on the conflicting opinions: a) Earlier in the restaurant's history - Say about 2016, 17, or 18, The restaurant was not very good at all. I think at that time it had another name. b) There was a name change and quality went up. Sometimes when this happens there is an ownership change (or there is an owner who swaps out the management and cooking team to put in new blood.) However, things got fixed, they got fixed. c) Miyo's yakitori is apparently still not where it needs to be. I am not a huge Yakitori fan. If your broiled meat on a stick is not $80 an ounce Wagyu, Or amazing organ meats grilled in the Caucasus Barded with lamb fat and with farm fresh vegetables On another skewer for serious taste contrast ... If you are not at that high level, I don't want to pay for meat on a skewer. There are people who DO like Yakitori. They do NOT like the Miyo versions of that. * * * Yakitori is less than 20% of Miyo's menu. The rest is sushi or wonderful cooked dishes. Lay off the skewer food and you can do well here.
