So grateful I discovered Little Mama's. Whenever I'm in Round Rock, I have to swing by and get my pancit and lumpia. I always like to order in person and dine in, but get my food in to go boxes. I eat a little there and then everything is already packed up and I can take the left overs home. So much food. I can eat it again at dinner and lunch for work the next day. 12 lumpia doesn't last long. Truly is my favorite. This time when I orders pancit I got it with shrimp. Came in to pick up my order but ended up deciding to dine in. The food did take a little while, but it was clearly made with love because everything I had was delicious. The lechon (crispy roasted pork) had the perfect crackly skin, and the pancit (stir fried noodles) was full of flavor. For dessert, I tried the ube cheesecake and the halo-halo. The ube cheesecake had great texture, though I wish the ube flavor had been a little stronger. The halo-halo (a shaved ice dessert) was the highlight for me. It reminded me a bit of Vietnamese chè ba màu (three-color dessert), especially with the sweet mix of textures and the scoop of ice cream on top. I loved the bits of jello too. It was my first time trying halo-halo and I'll definitely be back for it. The experience is more self-service than full dine-in, but I didn't mind that. You place your order at the counter and there's only a few small tables to sit at. There's a separate table with to-go boxes, napkins, and utensils so you can help yourself when needed. 4.11.25 I spent some time here a few years ago when I was in the area. This is one of those I thought I had posted a review but unfortunately I hadn't. So here goes. The owner is so kind & gracious. She is very welcoming and makes you feel like you're in her own personal kitchen. The service is beyond stellar. She made me feel like I was invited to her home each time I was there. The colors are vibrant inside and it feels very cozy. It's on the smaller side but what else do you need? The food is outstanding. Top notch. One day I was there they weren't there even though the posted hand written sign said different. That's ok, she more than made up for it the other times I visited. The food is very fresh. The flavors to me were amazing. I don't often get to indulge in the authentic Filipino food. So I was in heaven. I have enjoyed some of the best lumpia I've ever come across. Delicious hole in the wall goodness! I had the Chicken Adobo and Halo Halo dessert. The Adobo had a teriyaki pepper taste that was like gravy and teriyaki had a baby (in a good way!). Portions are big, I could have split it with someone and gotten enough to eat (or my wife and will get take out and eat it for two days). The owner was helpful in giving advice for those not familiar with Filipino cuisine. They can make things hot or mild for us wimps. The only downside is they are located in Round Rock and I live in South Carolina! read more

We ordered a Chicken adobo, lechon kawali, sides of fried rice, and halo halo for dessert over the phone Friday afternoon and the food was ready within 20 minutes. The chicken adobo was so flavorful and tender, paired perfectly over the fried rice. The lechon kawali was a bit on the dryer side, but it was still delicious and the serving size was plentiful. The halo halo had a ton of tasty ingredients and it was large enough for two of us to share it. The prices are a bit high, but I was happy to support a small business. The establishment seems to run mainly on their to go orders, but there was a couple of tables to eat at inside the restaurant. Their sign and building could use some improvement, and their interior is not too inviting, but I'm assuming that is due to Covid, since my coworker told me they used to have a buffet and a ton of seating before the pandemic. Customer service was great! The lady seemed super congenial and made me want to ask if we could be friends lol. 5/5 for customer service. However, the food.... The halo halo was great. However, the pancit bihon was so salty, it felt like it was salt-curing the inside of my mouth. I even tried rinsing the noodles off in water and then stir-frying them again with even more vegetables (and even rice!) at home, but I had to toss the dish not even a third of the way into the dish because of the overpowering salt. Mind you, I really hate tossing food and will usually make myself eat even pretty bad food. I also inhale entire bags of super salty chips on the regular, so it's not that I can't handle salty foods in general. But the saltiness of the pancit was too strong here. The lumpia was better. Crispy and HOT even after a 30min drive back home. However, it too was saltier than I would've liked. Perhaps it was an off day for the cook; however, the food made me sad. Probably wouldn't recommend it if you have high blood pressure or if you don't want to drink copious amounts of water and juice cleanses for the next couple days. read more

I have been coming to Little Mama's for almost 8 years. I remember before the pandemic, they had a modest eatery inside with seating for maybe 25 people. Since the pandemic, it's primarily a take out place and you'd probably want to leave and not eat inside based on how run down the interior is. There are better interiors at provincial carinderias in the Philippines. The condition on the outside has deteriorated since the last time I came to pick up food. Now, there isn't even a sign on the outside of the restaurant. You have to find the entrance because of a cardboard sign taped to the door. Maybe, the sign fell and the owners just don't care or have enough money to take care of the sign. Whatever the reason, it says a lot about pride of ownership. Considering they don't care about the appearance of their restaurant, you have to wonder if they care about the food. This was the straw that made me write this review. I ordered pancit bihon, beef steak, and Bicol express. The pancit was super salty, almost inedible. The beef steak was also super salty and the beef was so tough that you have to guess that the meat they use has to be some of the cheapest cuts. Lastly, the Bicol Express which utilizes pork belly still had a good flavor, but the portion was so small and I had to throw out at least half of the pork because it was just pieces of fat. Very disappointing experience overall. I hope they take some pride in their restaurant and food, or else things won't be going well for them. I will never order food from them again. read more

3 years later and Little Mamas' still as good as when I first had it, maybe even more so... As usual, had to order all the classic Filipino hits (Chicken Adobo, Lumpia, Garlic Rice, Spam Fried Rice, Skewers) and some new ones (Kare kare). Everything was spectacular, and not a single thing I would have gotten rid of or change. I had meals for days and not a single regret. The food is SOOOOOO good!! I've had the "classic hits" I've listed before, but the Kare Kare was a first. I was skeptical to try, as Kare kare typically has lord knows what (pig leg, tripe, etc), but Little Mama's uses Oxtail. Verdict? The Oxtail was incredibly tender to the bone and the stew was incredibly rich in flavor. With the addition of the Bagoong (the pink paste aka fermented shrimp), it added an extra layer of depth and flavor. WARNING: USE ONLY IN MICROSCOPIC SERVINGS If you're reading this before you come, don't be intimated or judgmental of the location or the aesthetics of the restaurant. This is the bare bones and actually reminded me of the local restaurants in Hawaii. It was busyyyy, we had an hour wait time after ordering so we whipped over to ikea to keep the baby entertained. the wait was so worth it. We ordered lechon, chicken bbq skewers, and a ginataan bilo bilo for dessert. All the seats were taken inside this cute and humble store. We decided to have a picnic in our minivan anyway bc the baby finally feel asleep. What a nice little treat everything was. The pork belly used for lechon had the perfect meat to fat ratio, it was marinated well, and fried to the best crispness. Comes with two sauces, vinegar and lechon sauce. The bbq chicken was sweet, savory, and had just a hint of char from the grill. There are 4 very generous sticks of meat. Both entrees came with regular white rice that was a good wet/dry level, (IYKYK) Everything was still good as leftovers the next day! I'll come everyday from drippin springs for that ginataan. Tried Little Mama's for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. We arrived around 12:50pm and didn't realize they closed at 1:00pm. Be aware that the food is really salty! We had always been wanting to try Little Mama for a few times, but couldn't make it due to their early closing hours. We were so excited to try Little Mama today, but left super disappointed. All the dishes sounded delicious on paper, but we decided to try their classic ones - lumpia, chicken adobo, and pancit bihon. Lumpia: Regular egg rolls with ground pork and carrots inside, nothing is different than a Chinese or Vietnamese egg rolls. Vietnamese egg rolls are more flavorful. These lumpia's are much bigger than the ones our Filipino friend made. It was served with sweet chili sauce. Lumpia was decent, nothing was special about it. Pancit bihon: SUPER SALTY. It was wayyy too salty that we couldn't eat after the first bite. It was stir-fried clear noodles with a few small pieces of cabbage and carrots. There was only a handful of chicken pieces buried on the bottom of the box. This dish was so salty that it was mind blowing. We had to tell the staff and asked if they could remake it. She happily took it back and remade for us, but the second round was not too much less. It was still salty. We felt bad throwing it, so we packed it home hoping we could fix it (not sure how), so we'll see what we can do with it. Chicken adobo: Braised chicken with onion and a piece of pickled pepper. This dish was also salty! However, it was more tolerable compared to the pancit because we ate it with rice. The pickled pepper added more salt and tanginess to the dish. However, rice or no rice, it shouldn't be that salty to start with. Tap water: Tasted a bit funny. There was no ice. There were many colorful desserts made with ube that we were curious to try. However, after the bad experience about the salty pancit and adobo, I didn't want to try anything else. The 3 dishes that we ordered were their classic ones. If they couldn't make their classic ones right, what about others? There was no signage in the front except the small sticker on the door, so it was very easy to miss. It was a very small restaurant with 2 tables - 4 chairs at each table. They could pull out more tables if we need to, but we would take up all the space. This place is not really designed for dine-in, but for takeout. Even though we dined in, food was served in plastic containers. We set up our own table with paper plates, plastic silverware, and plastic cups. read more

I came in today to get my fried fish fix! I have come into this location before so I knew what to expect. I came in and ordered the fried Tilapia that came with a side of rice. It reminded me of my dads home cooking. It's that legit! It's that good! Even the sisig and bisteak meats were tender. My kids even ate, and they're picky! When you come in there are only 2 tables for two and one table for 4 but a few chairs on the side to sit. They prefer for you to pay cash but if paying with credit card there is i believe a 2% fee. Husband ordered Adobo and I ordered BBQ pork on a stick. Both was good but while eating my BBQ half of the stick was uncooked.
