My freshly made vegetable BANH MI and boy was it delicious!!!!!
    Susan W.

The owner of this sweet little food truck is so nice and very accommodating. To be honest, if I could have, I would've ordered one of everything on the menu. I really enjoy Vietnamese food and in particular Banh Mi sandwiches! i'm so impressed because this was the real deal! I ordered a vegetable on me because I wanted to be sure that I could taste the sauce, which sounded very interesting and the bread which can either make or break the sandwich.I ordered it without cilantro as I'm one of those people that it gives the soapy taste too. We started chatting and she's very easy to talk to. She recently relocated here from a food truck area in Round Rock so is getting herself established and putting out amazing food Here in Hutto-just off Main St. there are about a half a dozen food trucks in all in a very pleasant clean environment with plenty of room for seating. I also ordered a Vietnamese, lemon, soda, salty, sweet, cold beverage. OK now to get into my Banh Mi-Clean, fresh cucumbers, shredded carrots, some other veg and mom's sauce to top it all off. The contents was enclosed in a perfectly shaped crisp & chewy (but easily bitten into) mini French baguette. I was in love at first bite!!!! My soda was unique but refreshing and I enjoyed it as well. I can't wait to work my way through the menu. It will be a drive but it will be well worth it!!!! Mary mentioned that she will also be at the red Poppy festival in Georgetown, so if you see her truck there- clearly labeled MOM'S BANH MI be sure to step right on up and check it out. I hope to see her there myself. Although she's not been in Hutto very long, she still has many regular customers which speaks to the quality of her food!! Thanks so much, Mary. I enjoyed meeting you and I look forward to seeing you and trying some more of your delicious food.

Stopped by and tried the Lemon Zest (Zesty Brine Lemon Soda) and it was absolutely delicious! We can't wait to come back and try more of the menu. The owner was so kind, welcoming, and friendly--it made the experience even better. Great drinks, great vibes, and wonderful customer service. Looking forward to our next visit!

Coming from the Bay Area, it's a struggle tryna find food that hit like home! IYKYK. Was able to catch them literally right before they closed, & Mary was real welcoming & was still open to taking my order even though she was in the midst of closing everything down. Everything was hella good & I'll be bacccck!

Stopped by to see what vegatarian friendly items the new food truck park (sunset on the rise) in round rock had. Weird foods was closed but advertised a new vegan and vegetarian menu. I opted for the veggie bahn mi and a Thai tea from moms bahn mi. The bahn mi consisted of all the typical bahn mi veggies- cucumber, carrot , pickled veggies, cilantro and a special sauce they offer. The veggies were fresh and sauce was delicious but I wish they offered a fried mushroom or Zuchinni to go in the sandwhich! The Thai tea was definitely made from Powder as it settled in the bottom and could be seen throughout the tea - wasn't a great but wasn't bad either however I wouldn't order it again. Less sweet than most Thai tea options. Looking forward for more trucks to offer veggie friendly items and comeing back to see how the veggie vermicelli bowl is at moms. Plenty of seating with shade and misters.

What a cute good truck! Mary is the sweetest She made me theee best Vietnamese coffee! Perfectly sweet and the right amount of caffeine to get me through the day. My daughter got a chicken bahn mi which she loved! I got the veggie noodle bowl and the flavorsssss!! Clean crisp and everything I enjoy in a noodle bowl. The portion size was just right. The noodles were light yet filling, the veggies seasoned and sliced perfectly for the perfect bite of flavor and crunch every bite.

Austin's 100% authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Bun Bo Hue: chewy noodles, fresh big chunks of pork and soft beef. The bowl is made the way I would make it at home, tons of meat. For less than $16, it's the best value to dollar to meal in my opinion more than pho or ramen. It is a bowl full of dark and light spicy flavors of soup. Fresh toppings on top, a big piece of pork blood cake. It's as good as Houston BBH. The banh cuon, man, taste like Vietnam. Fresh fresh fresh rice rolls, not too oily which I appreciate, nice textures of the ground pork which is nicely seasoned, sliced woodear mushrooms, and crispy onions on top. The bean sprouts are nicely steamed and sliced cucumbers add a warranted cooling taste. The nuoc mam for me I want to be saltier, garlic, fish sauce but I can add more spice from the bottles on the table. When you take in a bite of the rice roll, dipped in nuoc mam, it's a taste of Vietnam street food. Plus finish it off with a fresh blanched bean sprout. The price point less than $15 is worth it. Now let's talk about my all time favorite, banh knot. Fried little cakes filled with shrimp, a little bit of coconut milk, green onions and it's a little cup of goodness. Add some nuoc mam and it holds it in the cake. It comes with fresh lettuce, sliced cucumbers, and carrots. Roll it into a little roll, bite into the cake and bite into the vegetable lettuce wrap. It's all time goodness. A 1000% must try. Btw, the dining room and all the utensils are very clean. The plates are also spotless.

I uploaded their recent menu items as they have a new staff and are still in the process of training them to serve their whole menu again. My personal favorites that I get on rotation each time I come are the Banh Cuon w/ Pork (Vietnamese Rice Cake), Large Banh Xeo (w/ no squid), and Com Ga Di Bo (Rice Plate w/ Boiled Chicken). I always order a side of Goi Cuon Nem Nuong with my respective entree as well. The Sugar Cane Juice is absolutely delicious, fresh, and not too sweet. The service here is always friendly, attentive, and timely. Nice relaxing atmosphere with television and restaurant music for your dining experience. Definitely recommend for all my fellow Vietnamese food lovers!

We did not come in with high expectations but the food completely blew us away. K6. Salt and Pepper Crawfish ($19): This was fire and honestly the best fried crawfish we have had. So much better than I expected and unlike anything else we have tried. The crawfish was crispy and flavorful and came with a bowl of white rice and a lemon and pepper dipping sauce. B10. Lemongrass Vermicelli Stir Fry Combo ($17): The receipt said spicy but it was not spicy at all. The combo comes with 3 proteins including chicken, shrimp, and beef, and we added grilled pork ($5) and bi ($3) so we ended up with 5 types of meat in the bowl. The flavors were well balanced even with everything going on and the bowl was absolutely humongous. We were stuffed afterwards.

The egg roll was really tasty and crispy. Grilled pork was savory and shredded pork skin was perfection. You can't go wrong with this meal. I also tried their rice cake pancake as an appetizer but honestly, they is also another meal in itself. It will pair well with rice. Good if you enjoy eggs and rice cakes. Their Vietnamese Iced Coffee was also good. Service is super quick. The staff are all friendly. The restaurant is large and parking is abundant as it's located in a large plaza.

The…read moreThai basil leaves were absolutely ginormous, and they gave us plenty of them alongside very fresh limes, which I appreciated. The bowl itself came loaded with meat--they definitely weren't skimping to save money here. The meat-to-noodle ratio felt great, and every bite actually had substance instead of leaving me fishing around for toppings. As for the broth, I landed somewhere in the middle. It wasn't quite as clear or light as I personally prefer, leaning toward a fattier, milkier undertone that almost reminded me of a Vietnamese pho take on tonkotsu. The flavor itself was undeniably very good, but the richness may have been a bit too much for me personally. One way I usually judge how much I love a pho broth is whether I want to sip the bowl down to the very end, and this one wasn't quite light enough for me to want to do that. I've had richer and deeper pho flavors elsewhere, but I still appreciated the flavor profile here and could absolutely see why this place is so popular. It feels hearty, comforting, and satisfying in a way that clearly resonates with many people. Despite how packed the restaurant was, the atmosphere ended up being surprisingly pleasant. Service moved very quickly, which honestly impressed me given how busy everything felt. Even with the crowd, I didn't dislike the spacing or setup at all--the restaurant still felt comfortable, and the sound of people enjoying their food all around added to the lively, welcoming energy rather than making it feel overwhelming. Overall, Pho Phong Lưu ended up being one of those places where I completely understood the hype, even if it didn't become my personal favorite pho spot. While the broth leaned richer than my preference, I still enjoyed the experience and definitely look forward to trying other dishes next time.
