But if you have kids that want something sweet while you're in this specific shopping plaza, go for it. It's fun for the kids because they get to pick from a large selection of toppings and sugar to mix into their diabetes meal. Parking is very easy to find as it's located in a shopping center and having both indoor and outdoor seating is great as you can bring your dog. When inside we noticed how clean it was and it seemed like it was a popular spot as well. We ordered a chocolate scoop in a cup and a mint chocolate chip in a cone. We were also offered a pup cup for our dog, which was very nice and made us happy he was included in things. They have a good variety of flavors and toppings there to choose from so you can customize things to your liking. The price was as expected for a smaller, seemingly family owned place. The service was good so it seemed a bit more fair considering that. We sat outside since we had our dog with us and jumped right into our ice cream and it was great. The texture of the ice cream is perfect and the flavors are not over sweet or off like some places can be at times. Rather, between the hot Texas sun and the cool ice cream, it felt like the perfect way to cap off a Saturday. We don't live too close by but if we're ever in the area again, we would happily stop by and support Maggie Moo's and you should too. read more

The first thing when you walk in is bright and happy vibes. The aura here is great! We saw some of the reviews and were a bit skeptical about coming here. We also heard they had really good ice cream, so we had to try. The nice lady who helped us gave us a sample of almost every flavor they had. She asked if it was our first time. Which it was. And gave us her suggestions on the best flavors. She did not steer us wrong. I liked so many. I had to go with the banana split since I got 3 flabmvors. They also give you unlimited toppings on your ice cream for no uncharged. This place has some fire ice cream and a great place to sit, relax, and enjoy yourself. Maggie Moo's used to be our go-to ice cream spot about 10 years ago, so we decided to stop by while we were in the neighborhood. I sampled some flavors and the espresso beans and double chocolate stand out the most. Banana has a mild flavor. Salted caramel is too sweet. Pricing is reasonable. You can choose as many toppings as you want as long as they fit in the bowl, and they will mix them like how Cold Stone does. I recommend keeping the toppings simple with some crunchy texture from nuts and one more from your favorite candy bar. So I'm more of a milkshake person than a ice cream person and this place definitely knows how to make a good milkshake. I will tell you that YOU MUST TRY THE SNICKERS MILKSHAKE. I always finish my milkshakes but this one made me feel like I bit off more than I can chew lol. That large should be a extra large lol. My wife and kids can never finish their ice cream either which means more for the next day and trust me they are just as excited to finish it the next day. I have been coming here for years but something has dramatically changed and today will be my last visit. I came here for the Better Batter... but they have changed the flavor and now it just tastes like vanilla :( Their portion size has been greatly reduced. My regular cone used to overflow & now it's half full. The child's cup is now a tiny clear plastic lid, is incredibly messy because it is melting over... they used to be served in a tall white cup, which contained ALL of the ice cream... which is the whole point lol. And my girls and I loved the rainbow sprinkles (for texture not taste) but they now have these TINY little hard dots. Lastly, their butterfinger topping was so incredibly stale that I almost considered throwing the whole thing away. I'm so sad. Before visiting Maggie Moos' I was a bit skeptical due to the lower ratings, but it was the only place open that evening so decided to give it a go. After a couple visits, I have to say that I'm scratching my head as to why some folks don't like this place. Each time we've been in, the counter staff has been attentive and we have not had to wait long for our orders. Tried both the sundaes and the milkshakes. The sundaes have a generous portion of ice cream, a variety that seems to contain a decent amount of butterfat. Milkshakes are definitely a must have here--this place knows how to make a drinkable shake and not some loose ice cream sludge that passes for a shake in other places. I had a cookie dough shake that was well blended with a plentiful dollop of whipped cream on top. Prices are a little on the high side but in Austin, everything seems expensive to me. We ordered an item with nuts on the top and when I asked for them to make the item with no nuts we were asked why(not really your business, but fine) ...I told her I have an allergy to nuts, she refused to make the item stating that their toppings are crossed contaminated. I explained that it is a mild allergy and it is my choice if I want to put myself at risk, they still refused, so my husband tried to order the item without nuts and she refused to make it for him. Maybe just put a sign like every other business does that "items may be cross contaminated". Also, do you know how many people eat food/nuts every day and have no idea they have a food or peanut allergy? When we were handed the cups the ice cream was already melting and it was a soupy mess. I realize it's ice cream, it's going to melt, but this was a little excessive. I went in at 7:30 today and as any other day this girl has worked she had an attitude problem with me and with a dasher coming in. A dasher was telling her coworker he had an order to pick up her coworker says ok and is about to do the order, she tells him you can wait in line like all the other customers. He then confirms with her that he is here for a DoorDash order. She still tells him wait in line like all the other customers he tells her no he's not gonna wait in line for a DoorDash. She says oh no and then gets on the DoorDash screen and cancels his order telling him to go outside and wait, so he goes outside and when her coworker starts to the order, she tells him no don't start the order don't do it at all. It was very disturbing and rude because all he was here for was a door dash order. There were about 10 other people in the store when she did that that ruins, the image of not only the company but her image as well as a person she has had attitude issues before and she's had an attitude issue with me before, and it is not OK to have employees talking to customers and Dashers off like this because it's not our fault, she decided to work here. I hope she is fired because that was NOT ok and all the other people who were in their includ me were really flabbergasted. I think this place is like cold stone creamery that takes basic ice cream base and mix in the toppings, a more upscale blizzard and more pricey too. I ordered a cup of vanilla ice cream mixed with brownies, cherries and caramel. For all this to work the base ice cream needs to be good and I didn't think it was, it was lacking vanilla flavor and didn't stand out. The cup had a decent amount of brownie pieces, but the caramel made it way too sweet for my taste. My son did like his smores ice cream mix and saw that they even have cereal mixes which is more geared towards kids who love anything sugar. read more

Roof is leaking and apparently has remained unfixed. High chairs are disgustingly dirty. Mold built up in the ice cream cases along the glass hinges. Every table was filthy - not dirty, but filthy. Air vents on ice cream units are dirty. Ceiling tiles have numerous water stains from leaks. Goodness Gracious!! Ice cream was delicious, albeit softer than I'd expect (maybe ice cream freezers aren't operating properly). Free mix-ins. Lot of good things overlooked because of lack of cleanliness. You'd think that with prices of $10+ for two small cups, they could afford to repair equipment and spend some labor to clean the place up.
