    Chocolate swirl
    Neha G.

Jan 17, 2025 review This is literally a hidden gem. Tried the chocolate swirl and it turned out to be amazing. This food truck is located right to the entrance, can be little tricky to find it. We were almost about to leave thinking its closed but later found it right there. Not too busy on weekdays so good for evening ice cream cravings. Go check it out if you are fan of soft serve.

Cute little food truck attached to the lobster restaurant. They have a bunch of unique flavors and toppings. I loved the pineapple soft serve I got. It's pretty much just vanilla with flavoring swirled in. Light and refreshing. Loved that it wasn't too sweet and heavy. Small was $4.30 large was $6. Would give it a 9/10 highly recommend giving them a try if you're looking for a local soft serve place.

Black raspberry with chocolate sprinkles in a cup. Did melt a bit as I waited until I got home.

The best soft serve ice cream in the area! They are a small location in partnership with Garbos. The device was great - we arrived right before closing and they quickly made our order. I ordered the black raspberry with chocolate sprinkles. It was the best! Tart, sweet and chocolatey. My husband ordered butter pecan but said mine was better. The sizes are HUGE. So keep this in mind. You may want to share. We will definitely be coming back this summer to try more flavors.

They have vanilla ice cream swirled with a flavor or mix two flavors. The samples are huge! I wasn't able to finish my large cup of vanilla with chocolate and banana swirls.

This is a cute little dessert spot. I ordered the blue raspberry soft serve with marshmallows. The serving size was HUGE. You could definitely share- I wasn't able to finish my entire cup. The soft serve was very refreshing and had a nice taste. The ice cream wasn't overly sugary. It did seem a bit pricey to pay $6 for a cup of ice cream but I really enjoyed the sweet treat. The person operating the desert stand was very helpful and gave great recommendations.

Vanilla soft serve with butter pecan to die for

Over the moon that I found this gem right in time before summer. Haven't had soft serve ice cream in quite a while (I lean more towards Blue Bell & the likes). Tried Connors on whim since they conveniently work hand in hand with Garbo's. Asked the waiter that was cleaning up our table if he recommended the soft serve & if so what was his go-to. He said his favorite was the butter pecan. I proceeded with his suggestion. There's something very special in this vanilla soft serve with it's perfect ribboned butter pecan flavor. Hands down a master in it's kind. I'm already counting down the days I get to enjoy a beautiful warm Texas sunset on the patio whilst enjoying every bit of my Connor's ice cream.

Chocolate Swirl ice cream with Pecans and Hot Fudge

Very smart location/partnership being situated at the delicious Garbo's. They are a fairly child friendly place so a soft serve place is a great idea! I got a Chocolate Swirl ice cream and added Hot Fudge and Pecans. I like that they do not have too many options to choose from for the soft serve or the toppings. The options they do offer cover a wide range of flavor profiles to make various different tasting treats. Your ice cream comes in a plastic dipped cardboard cup with a plastic spoon. Fairly priced for the location and size of the purchase. It was filled with ice cream well above the top of the cup and they mixed in the toppings in the ice cream as well as putting them on top of it. Lovely, smiley service from the woman in the truck and she offered plenty of napkins and an extra spoon to share with my husband. We'll definitely get ice cream from this truck again when we're back at Garbo's this summer and I recommend you do as well!

It's just okay!! It's located/attached to Garbos's, and have outdoor seating with cover, which is nice for Texas heat. We ordered, butter pecan soft serve with hot fudge and pecans; chocolate swirl with m&m's. It's $5+tax for soft serve, 50c for each topping. They use cheap styrofoamfoam glass, and fill the soft serve only 75percent, with toppings+tax+tips, it's pricey for what you get. Soft serve itself is just ok, nothing like wowww.

We had dinner at Garbos and we saw they served Connors creamery ice cream, but we were full. So we thought. As we walked to the car we saw the food truck and all of a sudden we needed ice cream. It's all soft serve - vanilla, then you choose your flavor (strawberry, butter pecan, bubblegum, etc) the. Choose your toppings (sprinkles, whip cream, candy, etc) Pricing is reasonable and the ice cream is delicious!

Great ice cream, nice mix of flavors, reasonable prices. It's attached to Garbo's - somewhat of a weird combination to follow up seafood with ice cream - but aside from that, nothing else to say but give this place a try!

I forget how good soft serve is. I got the butter pecan which tasted melted butterscotch mixed with vanilla ice cream. It wasn't overly sweet and had a slight salty taste that worked really well- highly recommend. Backstory, Connors Creamery stopped by our office complex and our office manager worked with them to get tickets to hand out. They charged us by how many tickets were used and gave us their card to potentially use them for private events. If you're having an event that calls for ice cream I think this could be a cute idea. Plus they're super fast on fulfilling the orders.

So good! I love soft serve, and Connors Creamery does it pretty well. I got their strawberry soft serve with gummy bears, and my boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed it on a hot summer's day. The texture and consistency of the soft serve is awesome, and it's better than other soft serve places in the area. I would come again!

    Root Beer Float

Soooo delicious! And surprisingly fast! When we went on a Wednesday night, it was somewhat packed. The worker took our order and let us know it would be a minute as they were working alone, but I was impressed as our ice cream was ready within 5 minutes! Despite it being pretty busy, the worker was so kind. We got root beer floats and goodness were they gooood!! The whole nine yards with sprinkles and whip cream AND they give you the leftover bottle of root beer. How awesome!! Considering it was $8.50, I felt it was certainly worth it and can still tip generously. Obviously these workers are doing an amazing job :) It is right next to another restaurant, so maybe the ambiance isn't the "best," but who cares when you're eating ice cream?! Will be back!!!!

Definite skip. Sadly some of the worst soft serve I've ever had. Black raspberry especially as it tasted like Robitussin. Big time bummer.

Drove all the way to the location only for it to be closed at 7pm on a Friday night even though it says open online. Won't be returning.

Their lobster bisk was out of the world, the chunks of lobster were perfection and served at the perfect temp. Lobster rolls are a little small but heaven sent for sure!!! Love that they gave our kids goldfish and crayons along with the playground to keep them entertained so we could actually talk. Service has always been good, nothing incredible but good and reliable, that's all I can ask for. Sundays there is a cute little farmers market out front too that we like to walk thru. The one thing that keeps us from frequenting more often is the price for us to eat there as a family. It was $242 before tip this last time for what feels like a light lunch. I understand these are quality and luxury ingredients just hard to justify when the lobster roll isn't the size of my head like in Boston. But still we love it here and will continue to be back. 4 stars because we love it but portions for price could be better imo.

I love mushrooms and thought about trying the Laughing Buddha which has a breaded/fried mushroom caps with cheese in between, but it might have been a bit too much cheese so I went with the Double Cheeseburger. The double cheeseburger is pretty much everything you want in a solid burger. 2 juicy smashed patties, perfectly melted cheese, and a great balance of toppings without being messy. The flavor is bold and beefy, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. It's the kind of burger that hits the spot from the first bite to the last. The cajun fries were super crisp on the outside and fluffy inside, and the onion rings ended up being one of the standout sides. They were thick-cut, crunchy, and not greasy at all, with a light batter that let the onion actually shine. Both dip well in their nirvana sauce. Service was friendly, and food came out hot. If you're craving a classic, well-made burger meal in Austin, Buddha Burger is absolutely worth a visit. Value wise, I'm still a Buddy's Burger fan as they're also super solid, but Buddha Burger is great too if you're in the area. Do be careful going up and down their stairs to order/pick up order.

La Señora Del Zacahuil gave me that gift this week and I couldn't believe she had no reviews on Yelp. Coming here to pull up her page and I see 16 glowing "currently not recommended" reviews. Let's see if we can fix that and get her some more visitors from the Yelp community. Firstly, know that this food is lovingly hand-prepared with highest quality ingredients and the price point reflects that. I gotta admit, I was shocked to learn that our meal for 3 from a freeway-adjacent food truck was $62 - gulp, come again!? That total included 2 entrees, 5 tacos, and 1 horchata. Inflation must be impacting this small business, as the prices we paid were $1-3 higher per item than the prices on the online menu or Yelp/Google/FB photos from 6 months ago. Notably, prices are not shown on the posted menus at the truck, so you really don't know about the sticker shock until you start to pay for the meal. If you aren't a fluent Spanish speaker, it may be a bit challenging to negotiate if you want to ask questions about changing your order to bring the total bill down. Now to the food. Everything we tried was delicious & beautifully garnished with fresh veggies & crunchy, colorful pickles (en escabeche). Salsas were offered in red and creamy green by squeeze bottle straight from the fridge. Be sure to return these when your meal is done. We ordered at the truck window then waited under the adjacent covered outdoor seating area for our order to be called. As we waited, the owner came out to serve us an amuse bouche of small cups of the thick, traditional spiced hot chocolate & corn masa drink (atole), champurrado. Yum! Given the name of the place, I simply had to order the zacahuil, a (supposedly) gigantic tamale cooked in banana leaves in the Huasteca style of San Luis Potosi, only offered on Saturdays at this truck. If you get this in Mexico, it may be a meter or more in length, intended to serve 10+ people! My expectations were high from the truck's photos and the $16 price tag, but I'd say it was just... alright. The food portion was comparable to 2 small Tex-Mex tamales in corn husks and the pork meat filling was sparse compared to photos. While the flavors were very tasty, I'd likely not order this again due to the food-to-dollar margin. Tacos we tried were tasty but also very pricey. Cochinita pibil, chicken tinga, barbacoa, all on doubled corn tortillas, plus bean & cheese on flour, and potato, egg, & cheese on flour. The cheese appeared to be queso fresco, so it added extra "funky" flavor to the dishes where applied - good thing for me, not so much for my picky eater son. Tortillas appeared to be hand made, another plus. My date ordered the daily special, chicken tinga chilaquiles. Very fresh, flavorful, and delicious, clearly made-to-order with homemade, thick & crispy totopos. Will we be back? Yeah, definitely! La Señora offers a novel menu with items rarely seen around Austin, and the service is friendly & welcoming. Seating area is covered & kept tidy. It's like taking a little trip to Mexico without the airfare cost or travel time. Next visit, I'd love to try the tortas, tacos de canasta, tostadas de siberia, burritos (best price point), and the tepache, a kombucha-like drink from pineapples. To better manage my spending, I'll come prepared with the right questions in Spanish about prices before I complete my order. Be sure to check social media (FB, TikTok) for any daily specials, as these vary by the owner's inspiration and availability of fresh ingredients. Past offerings include seafood soup and plate lunches (ex: stuffed sirloin or chicken breast with yellow spaghetti and potato casserole). https://www.laseñoradelzacahuil.com
