I used to frequent Amy's often until I started trying to maintain a more healthy lifestyle. I do allow myself a treat every once in a while. I grabbed a scoop of Mexican Vanilla, one of their premiere flavors. I remember it having a very unique taste. The ice cream today was good not great. The decor is very bright and children friendly. Lots of options and great service. This little location is tucked away in a plaza. I told them we were from out of town and this was our first time trying Amy's. The staff was very nice and informative. They were also really knowledgable and helped me choose my selection. They also hooked it up because we were new. I ended up getting their vegan vanilla with some toppings mixed in. It was pretty good and I liked that their ice cream wasn't too sweet. I liked that I can make my own creation. If you ever visit, I know 100% these girls will enhance your experience!! If I remember correctly their names were Tazin, Sofia, and Amity.Truly the service was amazing and the ice cream was very delicious. I ordered an Oreo Ice cream topped with strawberries and Oreo crumbs and my boyfriend ordered the Mexican Vanilla topped with pecan. I love Amy's ice cream. Today I got the vegan Mexican vanilla bean. Topped with butterfingers candy bar. Service was very friendly. Andye was very nice, and served me my ice cream. The other Andy, haha, they're both named Andy, I had to ask them to spell it for me so I could get the 2 of them in my review. I think they said there are other Andy's that work their too. My Andye was very nice and the other Andy that waited on my friend was nice too. Ice cream is smooth and creamy, taste just like regular vanilla, doesn't have any odd vegan taste to it. This location is perfect because you can grab your ice cream and enjoy it among nature thanks to the Arboretum and overlook being right next door! I almost always get Mexican Vanilla with gummy bears, but I really liked the Butter Beer and felt it would complement the other flavors as well. It was exactly what I wanted, and a perfect treat for a hot day! Amy's is an Austin classic - best ice cream in town and I'll always be a fan! This location has plenty of parking and while seating inside is a bit more limited, there is outside seating available as well. Employees are friendly and very sweet - always a treat to grab an ice cream here! The application process to work here apparently requires a decorated paper bag, and I just want to give a shout-out to Jess for having the coolest paper bag! There's never a bad time at Amy's Ice Creams! I love their late hours and friendly atmosphere, this makes it so easy to have a quick stop after dinner. Their personalization options are great for people as indecisive as I am. I will say that I have never been to an Amy's without a line before so for better or worse, come prepared to wait. This location is a bit on the smaller side so the seating is extremely limited, I would recommend just a come-and-go action. Although a bit basic, I genuinely don't think that you can go wrong with their classic Mexican Vanilla flavor and if I am feeling fancy, I would smash strawberries with it. Yes, please! But their unique flavors that I sampled disappointed. I read the list online with the ingredients, and my head spinned not knowing how to narrow down the choices. Texas Dirt was forgettable and also didn't like the flavor combination of fresh donut pieces with ice cream. The Strawberry was solid. Got my usual chopped almonds topping and I think the colorful vibes made add on Fruity Pebbles! They also have cool sounding ice cream combos and milkshakes. There are a few tables inside and out and a welcoming artsy eating behind the store. Easy parking as this location is in a strip mall with The Cheesecake Factory. ***I must give FIVE STARS for their shortcake cookie. The huge Texas-shaped cookie was a delicious souvenir. Simple recipe, done right!*** The Amy's at Austin airport had more flavors than this one and a long line. Id like to start off by saying I am an Amys fan, but unfortunately not of this location. My family came from out of town this past weekend and I wanted to treat them to some ice cream. I ordered Mexican vanilla and coffee flavored ice cream with cookie dough. Usually they mix the ice cream with the add ons, but this time they just gave me 2 scoops of ice cream and a large scoop of cookie dough on top. I asked the employee if they no longer mix the ice cream and he responded with "we don't do crushins before we close". We ordered an hour before they closed so I don't understand why they didn't want to mix the ice cream. I would understand if we ordered 5-10 minutes before closing, but an hour?! I had to ask them for two extra spoons and a bowl so I could mix my own ice cream. My entire family had to do the same with theirs as well. Make sure you arrive at least 2 hours before they close so you can get the proper amys experience. read more

I came here with my husband, our little girl dog and I to meet a friend for some ice cream, which happened to be on my birthday, on a Friday night last month, a little before 8 pm. We were supposed to met our friends at 7:30 pm but they were running late (and we came early), so we just sat outside nearby and waited. While we waited, we saw the line grow at Amy's. But the sign on the door said for a limit of 3- 4 people inside. Then eventually the line died down a little before my friend and I went inside to order some ice cream. While my husband waited outside with our little girl, I ended up ordering the following for us: Small Sized Strawberry Shortcake, $6.70 prior to tax- This strawberry shortcake had strawberry ice cream, crushed biscoff cookies, rainbow sprinkles and whipped cream. The ice cream was very creamy and I liked the biscoff cookie pieces in it (I love eating these cookies in general and buy them at Costco regularly). Tiny Sized Cold Pressed Vanilla Ice Cream, $4.50 prior to tax- I didn't know what to get my husband and decided to just get this since he was planning on sharing his ice cream with our little girl (I also shared some of my ice cream with her too). I didn't have any and was wondering if there was anything different from their regular vanilla flavor. Since they are the same price for the same size, I figured I'd just get this. But my husband said it tasted like regular vanilla. He did like it and so did our little girl and our friend's dog too. ---------------------- (Total= $12.12 after tax) Service was very friendly with all the staff members behind the counter. It was fun to see my strawberry shortcake ice cream being mixed and placed in the cup. My friend ordered before me and had told the employee ringing her up that one ice cream was for a birthday (not mine, but my friend's sister who was outside chatting with my husband). I didn't know this but they will give a free ice cream to the birthday person but I am not sure if it is a specific size or not since I wasn't paying much attention to what my friend ordered for her and her sister. But just thought I would make mention to those that are local. I didn't say anything when I came up to the register though. Overall, I liked my ice cream and think this location is great to meet someone for some ice cream. If I lived near here, I would most likely be back. read more

We stopped in here for a little treat. Now I'm gluten free so I have to ask about the flavors that I can have. There were about six of them. The employee made sure that my item was scooped separately so I would have no issues which was nice. I wasn't able to sit inside because there were so few tables but there were tables outside. If I had any suggestions I do wish that there were a few more GF flavors because as nice as the vanilla and chocolate are not being able to get any of the other flavors is a bit disappointing. read more

Seriously. Anyway, when you're denying a little kid free sprinkles, based on a sign in your store, it's probably time to evaluate your life's choices. The ice cream here was super smooth and creamy. I ordered a small sweet cream with heath and it did not disappoint! There was no line and it came out super fast. The only thing I would mention is Amy's has a deal where if you get a quote from a movie right you get your crushin free of charge. Even after I got it right my small ice cream ended up around $8.00 so i don't think they took it off and the price seems a little overpriced for the size. read more

Honestly can't really justify coming here. The ice cream is solid but I can't understand the hype in Austin about Amy's. It doesn't taste like anything out of the ordinary, I can get a much cheaper tub of similar stuff at HEB... and I have, a lot. The times I went to Amy's it was also always pretty busy, and I didn't really feel great waiting that long for ice cream that either didn't taste great in my eyes or just something I could pick out at the grocery store for much less money.
