This location is close to my dentist and I sometimes reward myself with a treat. They've got decent seating inside and out. Cute playground too. Just like most locations the lines can get long but they move quickly. Quality ice cream. Good service. One of my favorite combos is a scoop of Mexican Vanilla and a scoop of Sweet Cream in a cup. Yum. read more

Busy little store for sure. Was next door having a burger when we decided to hop over. The line moved fairly quickly with three peeps helping us out. Got the Thai tea and sweet cream scoops along with waffle cone pieces for topping. Delightful. No indoor seating although I think you can sit in the restaurant next door. Otherwise there is plenty of outdoor seating. read more

This review is a bit confusing to write because all ice cream is good ice cream, right? Amy's is typically VERY good but the Oreo ice cream we had here was just flat out bad. It was almost as if someone took vanilla ice cream and thought about putting Oreos in it but they forget to actually put the Oreos in it since the taste just wasn't there. The dark chocolate ice cream was absolutely great and the white chocolate cheesecake was delicious too. The parking is good for the area and the service was very quick despite the small area the shop has indoors. The outdoor area is very nice to spend time at on a hot day with tables with umbrellas. One thing I will preface that last part with is the fact that this is a VERY kid friendly location, they even have a playground there. We brought our dog with us to sit outside and with a bunch of kids running around, you can guess where I'm going with this. This obviously is no fault of the ice cream parlor, just potentially something to be aware of. Maybe it's this location or maybe we've been riding the eternal high of being Yelp reviewers for far too long but we were left disappointed by this trip to Amy's, hopefully yours won't follow suit. read more

I finally tried Amy's after living in Austin far too long. It was pretty much everything I'd hoped for. I got three scoops of Oreo ice cream with Oreo topping. The ice cream is quite thick and very sweet. The employees were friendly and answered any questions and gave samples. read more

Ordering online frequently does NOT mean the order will be processed before you pick it up at the time you said you would be there to pick it up. What is the point of ordering online if I have to stand in line and then have them fill the order while I wait??? I will NOT be going back to the Burnet Road Amy's Ice Cream ever again. I love their ice cream but I get VERY angry when they don't bother to fill the order before the customer arrives. I even ordered the day before and they still didn't fill the order until I got there the next day. AGH!!! Hopefully a different Amy's Ice Cream will do things right. read more

As an ice cream fanatic, Amy's is the place to be. With so many unique flavors, there's something for everyone here. My go-to flavors are usually the Belgian chocolate, dark chocolate, and cookies and cream. The ice cream is always utter perfection with such a creamy and rich consistency. It's the ideal sweet treat in any instance. The stores themselves are usually on the smaller side, so expect to take your ice cream on the go. Some locations have an outdoor patio as well. read more

Amy's Ice Cream in Austin serves up delicious ice cream with some fun seasonal flavors. I ended up getting a small Turtle, which was really tasty! The service was mixed during my visit. There were two workers behind the counter - one seemed friendly and was helping other customers, but the worker who helped me seemed impatient, which made me feel a bit stressed while deciding on my ice cream. It definitely took away from the overall experience. I also learned that every Phil's Icehouse apparently has an Amy's Ice Cream attached to it, which is a cool little detail for anyone who loves both burgers and ice cream. If you're looking for a sweet treat with unique flavor options, Amy's is a solid choice, though your experience may depend on who's serving you. read more

Spunky staff - makes this shop so fun! Got the small with 3 scoops - s'mores, vanilla and bee cave crunch. The bee cave crunch was def the highlight - creamy and cinnamony and lots of pecans. Every bite was so good. The gummy bears on top were delicious as well. Love all the outdoor seating - and the park is so fun for kids too! read more

I have been enjoying coming to this particular Amy's ice cream for over a decade. I have been to other locations, but I like this one a lot for some reason. It's also close to the Korea House location. So my family and I usually stop here for dessert afterwards from the Korea House. It also reminds me of my childhood best friend who is no longer with us. We used to come here when he would come visit with us from Fort Worth, TX. This place can be a hit or miss with customer service as others have pointed out. Parking can also be a pain during peak hours. One point over the summer of 2021 their A/C was out for quite some time. I couldn't imagine how it was for the employees working there. The cool thing about this place is just the hole in the wall feel kind of place. They also have a playground so your kids can get their sugar out of their system. Another thing they have coffee mugs, they sell ice cream cakes, ice cream quarts($15.50). Their Mexican Vanilla flavor is the bomb diggity .com. LOL They have other great flavors but I love that Mexican Vanilla. I even bought a coffee mug from here ($10.99). Next time I will pick up a t-shirt. I wished we had a location in Pflugerville, TX. Specifically the Stone Hill shopping center would be the perfect location. read more

This is my first time trying Amy's and I'm impressed! This particular location was very nice with an outdoor play area for kids and ample seating. The store itself is very small though and with Amy's being so popular it can get a little cramped inside. The staff was friendly and did the best they could to speed up the service. I got a cone with cookies n cream ice cream with some toppings that they mix in similar to cold stone. The ice cream itself was a good portion and very creamy. You really can't go wrong with cookies n cream and I definitely enjoyed my dessert. Highly recommend Amy's! read more

Have loved Amy 's ice cream forever and decided to take my kids to the one off Burnet to wait off traffic on a Friday evening. I had 2 scoops of mint chocolate and 1 scoop of Belgian chocolate. I hate to give Amy's a one-star review, as I have had many great experiences at their other locations, but my recent experience at this location was deserving of a one-star. We went in a little over an hour before they closed, on a Wednesday night. The teenagers who were manning the ship that night had already started doing closing duties which meant they had no hot toppings and they announced to the line, out the door, that they could not do mix-ins, but could only use what toppings they had left. We did not learn about the no go on the hot toppings until we got to the front of the line. We tried ordering 4 different things, with each time being told a reason why we could not have the item, which really boiled down to these kids had done their closing duties too early, which BTW did not appear to include much cleaning. We finally just left without buying anything and took our money to another ice cream establishment on Burnet Road. read more

Pretty good but also pricey. This is NOT Baskin Robbins so don't expect 'normal' flavors.

Ice cream shop with a concept similar to coldstone. If you want your toppings mixed in you have to say so, otherwise they'll just throw it on top. They have tons of in-house flavors Friendly staff and a good amount of parking available in the back lot and street Outdoor seating available out front Prices for scoop + 1 topping Tiny - $4 Small - $5.35 Large - $6 read more

When I went into Amy's today, I was shocked by the behavior of one of the employees. While I was in line waiting for my ice cream, I witnessed an employee shouting at a young lady, telling her she was banned and saying, "Oh hunny, it seems you forgot," in a really condescending way. From what I could see, the young lady hadn't done anything wrong--she just wanted her ice cream, and it seemed there were prior issues between them. In my opinion, banning someone from an ice cream shop over personal issues is completely out of line. It was clear they had some history, but that kind of behavior is extremely unprofessional. read more

While vacationing in Texas, I was wondering where a good, local ice cream shop was around Austin. I asked a few Austin locals and each told me Amy's, and boy were they right! I came here on a Tuesday night with my mom to commemorate our last night in Texas before heading back to Western NY. From our Airbnb, it was about a 20 minute walk. The location itself is kind of small with small parking lot next to it but we came here close to 9:30pm so it was pretty much empty. The shop itself has that "Keep Austin Weird" vibe to it with a colorful exterior and interior and lots of art. Even at 9:30pm, this place was buzzin' with customers and we had to wait a few minutes to place our order, but the wait was well worth it. There were only two people serving behind the counter but they were friendly and diligent workers, their attitude and demeanor definitely helped with the experience here. The style of ice cream here is hard but is whipped like Cold Stone Creamery in Western NY. I decided to go with a small (5-6 oz.) Mexican Vanilla ice cream with the graham cracker "crush'n" in a waffle cone. The ice cream itself was incredibly creamy and thick! The Mexican Vanilla flavor was excellent and paired so well with the mixed in, crunched up graham cracker. The waffle cone had a great taste and texture, very fresh. Even having the waffle cone, I would strongly recommend asking for a spoon to eat out of it! The amount of ice cream with the waffle cone was perfect: I was content, not stuffed but not hungry either. Ice cream is one of my favorite desserts and Amy's has earned a top spot, right next to Lake Effect Ice Cream. I can't wait to come back here again and try another flavor! read more

Amy's was so fun! I love this location. It has a playground and a restaurant next door. The playground is such a great way for the kids to get their sugar rush out. Amy's changes flavors every day. Impressive. The servers were very young. They had great attitudes, were very friendly and helpful when choosing flavors. The great attitude was seen when I walked in and the A/C was broken and they were still smiling. I had trouble deciding what to get. I eventually chose the buttered rum with pecans and an oatmeal cookie. It was so good! I couldn't finish the small size, so I took it home. Amy's is a little expensive for ice cream, so I didn't want it to go to waste. Overall, such a fun place to go for ice cream. read more

I love the covered outdoor seating at this location! The employees are very friendly as well. Amy's has increased their prices recently, but their ice cream is still a must-have Austin treat. Not many people are aware of this scientific fact but I'm willing to share it with the Yelp community, well, because that's what Yelpers do. If you eat ice cream within thirty minutes of eating tacos on Tuesday, the calories don't count. I know, it sounds crazy but I looked it up on the FDA website and who am I to argue with the government? :) As it happens, Amy's is a short walk away from the Peached Tortilla. Start there, get your tacos on and then hustle over to Amy's. I was in town on business and was sampling area hotspots with The Girl (my recent college grad with an MSI degree who is setting the world on fire as an embedded consultant working in Austin and living her best life in Denver Thursday PM through Monday AM). I know Amy's has multiple locations around town, including one at the Airport (AUS). This location is super cool with a playground for the kids, lots of tables to sit and visit and soak in the weirdness of an Austin night. (Yes, Austin is as cool as it's made out to be). Here's my warning, and I'll only say it once, the portion sizes are generous, buyer beware. Buying ice cream is always a tight rope. Yes, I want the Large or x-large, yes on the hot fudge, of course whipped cream, nuts, and cherries. Why do they even ask these questions? :) Ok, so that's my stomach speaking, my inner child from Pauline Dr when Dad would ask who wants ice cream? Today, my waist line says watch it Dopey (ever wonder why there wasn't a dwarf named Chubby or Fatty?) Amy's to the rescue. She starts off with a "tiny" size. As if. Small is next. Ok, I'll do a small and live with myself. That Amy, she's a sneaky one, bless her crooked little heart. Small. Is. Glorious. The Girl couldn't finish hers. Me? Hell yes, almost licked the bowl, but being in public and everything. . . The chocolate peanut butter ice cream with hot fudge and the afore mentioned accruements was outstanding. It's easy to see why Austin is so fond of Amy's, looking forward to a return trip with The Kelly's in a couple of weeks! read more
