    5 finger order spicy
    Josh C.

Service is super friendly and went around asking everyone how they liked their meal and the food was decent but as an Aggie who ate the original Layne's in College station I was disappointed with the chicken. The sauce was just like the original but the chicken was missing something in the flavor and breading. I did get the spicy which was not available back in 2008-2013 so maybe the original has the right texture but I can't imagine it would have changed much. I would definitely give them another shot and to those who have never had Layne's in college station you might like it. The sauce is similar to canes but with more pepper which in my opinion makes it better. Either way I'm excited to see a Layne's closer to home and I hope this review helps other aggies in the area!

Had lunch here today with my son. Clean dining area, friendly staff, and the food was good. It's equal to Cane's, Bush's, Chicken Express, Bojangle's, and Chicken Express. I do like the variety of choices on sauces which sets them apart from the others. Why 4 Stars ?? The spicy chicken has 0 kick which was disappointing. However, I'd come back.

Day 2 of soft opening. It still says Coming Soon, but they are open. As they are a new brand in this area, a lot of folks I think compare them to Rai****** Ca****. I found the chicken tenders and fries pretty identical to the other place. I got a 3 Tender Finger Meal, and they let me mix it up and so I got 2 regular and 1 spicy. Nice basic Chicken Tender atmosphere. We live very close, so we will be regulars. Definitely we will be regulars. Come try them.

Get it right! So I ordered online and it said it was gonna be ready in 10-15 minutes so that was perfect, right after work and should be ready right about when I was getting there. I leave work and get an email in 2 minutes that my order was ready for pickup. Which means they immediately put hot food in the styrofoam container and let it just sit there steaming for 15 minutes until I got there and still had to drive home. Thanks Laynes! Nothing like dripping condensation on my fries and bread and chicken!! Don't believe me? I'm attaching pics of your crappy wet condensed napkins and sauces and my food was like this also. Tossed the whole thing in the trash and won't be back. Thanks for nothing. If it says it'll be ready in 15, have it ready in 15...common sense says don't pack it up and let it sit and steam. Damn do better!!

Added a ketchup packet for scale. Chicken does taste good and fries were crispy... But, the chicken serving after initial opening is wrong.

Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking so that won't be an issue. Customer service was amazing! We were greeted by Dom who was so patient, kind, and knowledgeable about all of the menu items. He became my new bestie in my head I loved him so much lol. I ordered the Grill Daddy which was simple grilled chicken with mayo, lettuce, and tomatoes. It wasn't too bad but I'd do a little less mayo next time. The fries were so fresh and seasoned as well as the fried pickles. Everything was on point! In edition to their chicken meals, they also offer breakfast sandwiches, and beer on tap. The owner even walked around and mingled with customers. But those fries. Man, they sneak up on you. The first bite, I didn't notice any heat. The second fry, ya, they're spicy, by the 4th fry, whoa! Ya, they're hot. And I was all over it. The fries were so good my lips started to burn a little. It's a bit of a drive. But I do shop at the Sprouts in Cedar Park, which isn't that much further away. I would stop in here, grab some lunch before going grocery shopping. I'm excited to go back and grab some lunch again. Outside they have some games, corn hole. Connect four. Large dining area inside. Kiosk to order your own. And a pick up window.

The lovely cashier was super helpful and immediately asked if we'd been here before. Since it was our first time, she went through the menu and its entirety. She suggested the chicken tenders for my friend however I went for the bone in wings. They come with or without sauce. They have numerous of daiquiris both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. I ordered the chicken, which is five wings that come with fries and a fried pickle. I added a bottle of water and this ran me a little less than $17. They put your order in for you and then you can make your way outside to one of the many seating areas. We chose to sit on the patio. I love everything about this! Especially the fries. They look like a crossbreed between a curly fry and a naked potato wedgy. My wings were not only sauced with the buffalo sauce, but they came with a ranch drizzle. I also received a small container of ranch on the side. My friend got the spicy garlic Parmesan chicken tenders (2) and a Coke on the side. The wings were meaty. The sauce had flavor, and the ranch was amazing and comparable to Wingstop ranch. I can eat those french fries all day. And the fried pickle was the added touch though a bit spicy for my liking, but it was still a great addition. I will return to try different options.

The pluses of this place: The chicken is really good, both on the bone or in tenders or sandwiches. The OG sandwich is for a big stomach, be warned, but it is delicious. Nashville hot chicken has a real spectrum of heat, so work your way up until you get to the level you're comfortable with. The selection of sides are country favorites, and the broccoli salad I tried last night is the only one I didn't care for. The pies are outstanding, and they are advertised as complimentary. The minuses: The waitstaff is consistently undermanned. The group of tables we use when we go there is served by the bartender, so when the bar is busy service is slow. Likewise, they have a drive-through window and so the kitchen can get backed up. Last night, it took 20 minutes between ordering and getting our food. Finally, they have a Korean hot chicken variant, which is not very close to good Korean hot chicken and they should stick to Nashville hot. Hint: park in the adjoining lot. Most of the spaces at Tumble 22 are reserved for pick-up.

A friendly gentleman, who I presume was the owner, greeted us at the front counter. He mentioned a couple of things they were testing at the moment and while we studied the menu, he brought out some samples. We ended up loving the cherry bbq sauce and my boys both selected that for their chicken. I chose to try their maple gochujang. Caspers has a few two top tables where the boys played a game of connect 4 while we waited. About 15 minutes later our food came out, including some house made cherry limeade and peach lemonade. We took it to some nearby picnic tables and dug in. I'm happy to say, the chicken was outstanding! All three of us were very impressed. I'd like to get my hands on a bottle of the sauce! That cherry bbq would be amazing on a smoked pork butt or some ribs. The maple gochujang was sweet and mildly spicy. The crinkle fries were also crispy, hot, and delicious. The plain is basically like eating a canes tender.. boring. The lemon pepper & bbq ones were a lil better but very light on the flavor. Like, very light. Mid at best. The sweet potato waffle fries, fkn trash! They HAD to have been warmed/prepped in a microwave bc there isnt a CRISP to be found. Soggy and undercooked. The white mac. Horrible. Bagged boiled noodles & 50 gallons of cheese sauce that has not a pinch of flavor. It was so gross. But the one that made me spit out my food & write this review was having to wring the grease outta my "Texas Toast". 1st of all why tf do you use toast to line the bottom of the chicken box & seal it up?? I rolled a tender into a piece of bread & took a bite & it was like a mouth of melted butter. I was immediately grossed out. I literally smashed & smooshed the toast, wringing it out & it was like a wet towel. Dripping w grease. That was it for me. This was a definite waste of money!! Idk how this place was so packed!!!!

But that was some years ago, and I'm sure this cute multi-business of restaurants and stores wasn't here. Well, I'm in love, to say the least. I had to take care of some unexpected business today, and it happened to be in Georgetown. Well, how surprising it was that my business led me to this area. I think it's called Wolf Ranch. So after I finished, I took about two hours exploring, and Dave's Hot Chicken caught my eye. The building colors stood out, and the sign made me hungry. The hot chicken part of the sign stood out because I knew there would probably be honey with the garnishes, and I was right. But how good was the chicken sandwich! I don't want to call it a sandwich or anything like that. It's more than a sandwich. I like to call it a gourmet sandwich. One reason is that Dave doesn't use the traditional bun. Dave's buns are connected on the side, and they're very soft, petite, buttery buns, toasted. So, I went with the medium heat, and I love that the rub is placed all over the skin. The meat itself is very tender inside. I like that the skin is soft and crisp with the right amount of crunch. I love the pickles they chose to use along with the coleslaw as its toppings. It was really good. The fries are the old-fashioned kind. I love that too. They were thick, well-seasoned, and very tasty. I'm so happy I found this place. I certainly will be visiting again and again!!
