The place was crowded for a Thursday night, filled with regulars enjoying the food and ambiance this century old building exudes in spades. Much like the breakfast menu we enjoyed a few weeks ago, our meals were almost identical. We both enjoyed the Reuben sandwich for our dinner. I personally wished it had more kraut, but the corned beef was tender and flavorful. I had added the sweet potato fried and we shared the cheesy fries as an appetizer. Cheesy fries do not do it justice. They were coated with more than enough cheese, accented with chopped onions and other herbs that added flavor and texture. It's basically a sports bar with a kitchen, but apparently a big kitchen because they have a good size menu of burgers, sandwiches, comfort food, seafood, Italian food, salads, apps, pricy desserts, egg rolls, mac and cheeses, wings, and a healthy list of draft beers. I came in for the burger since I had read it was formerly a tri-blend of my 3 fav combinations of beef on a burger: chuck, brisket and short rib. I'm not sure if they're still doing the blended beef because the patty didn't taste like any previously blended burgers I've had before. When I ordered the burger it came out to my table about 4 minutes later. Not sure how they can pull this off for a patty that's 1/2 lb. At home it takes me at least 8 minutes. I went with the Texan specialty burger. This burger wasn't that good and was one that tasted best upon first bite, then progressively got worse as you eat more of it. I didn't finish it and eventually peeled off a lot of ingredients and bun by the end. They have a nice atmosphere, but I would try another menu item next time. I will likely visit the location closer to my house in Spring next time.
