This place is so cool! It's got big work doors to open to the outside on a nice day! It's very clean and quaint! Highly recommend. The food was reasonably priced, expect about $20 per person.

Texas Brisket, 1/4 Chicken, Sausage as our proteins. Coleslaw, Baked Beans, Mac & Cheese as our sides. Loved the brisket as it was salt, pepper and meat that I have tasted. Sausage was just okay. Big surprise was the chicken as it was juicy and delicious We'll talk about the sides on our next trip as you can tell there will be a 2nd trip.

I loved itttttt!!!!!! I also love that it's Hispanic owned & the food was so good!!! Everything was nice and clean and the owners were really friendly

    Cold Corona and yummy michelada!

Excellent customer service! We ordered brisket (honey and dry rub), jalapeño sausage, potato salad, and Mac and cheese. Food was excellent, not greasy and not dry at all!! Full of flavor! We r definitely going back to try the ribs and the chicken! We also ordered a michelada and it was the best michelada I've had in Texas and California! The restrooms and restaurant were spotless clean! Family friendly and you get a really nice breeze and lovely view‼

Man, so glad we stopped here on our way home to Austin! Pulled pork sandwich and a pork belly taco. Both were delicious, the pulled pork was juicy and the bun was a perfect match. Pork belly taco came with cheese, onion, cilantro and avocado on a corn tortilla was (chef's kiss) flawless.

Why 5 stars? Because the whole package was a 5-star experience. --- --- --- We have been stalking the opening of Porky's Belly BBQ for a while now, as we drive past it every time we head into Montgomery to visit my wife's parents. They recently announced that they were open and we made plans to visit a few days later. Before I get to the food, I'd like to first point out that a business that's only been open for about a week usually is a bit of a hot mess. Our experience was the opposite of that. We ordered a lot of food and fully expected it to be quite some time before it was out, but it came out shockingly fast. Everything was exactly as we ordered it and the employees didn't seem remotely stressed or confused. If I didn't know any better, I would have assumed they had been open for years and were a well-oiled machine. Secondly, we ordered enough food for a small village, and I was imaging that the total price was going to be in the $130 range, but it came in at $89. Especially in this crazy era of inflation, for 4 adults and a kid to be served more than we could even eat for $90, was incredibly impressive. But as for the important stuff... as I mentioned, we ordered a lot. My star rating for each item, which was pretty much agreed on by everyone: Slicked Brisket: 5 -- by far, this was everyone's favorite meat. Ribs: 3.5 -- these were ideal in terms of tenderness, but the flavor was just a tad off from what I was hoping for. Pulled Pork: 3 -- I'm not sure if it was the seasoning, but there was almost like a tanginess to this that I didn't love. It was my least favorite item out of everything we tried. Mac-n-Cheese: 5 -- bury me in it. Perfection. Coleslaw: 5 -- I only had one bite, but everyone at the table loved it, other than my Father-in-law, who thought it was too creamy. I disagreed with my FIL on this day. Pulled Pork Baked Beans: 4.5 -- Definitely hit the spot and are worth ordering again Bacon Green Beans: 4 -- When I first saw them, I was not excited, because they just looked like canned green beans dumped onto a plate with some bacon added in. They were definitely not that. They had a nice flavor that kept me going back for more. Banana Pudding: 5 -- Home run. I will never come here again without ordering this. Cheesecake Soapapilla: 4 -- I think this is what it was called. It was really sweet, which made it a bit overwhelming, but still enjoyable. BBQ sauce: 5 -- it was warm coming out of the dispenser, which is something I don't think I've ever experienced, but I loved it. The flavor and consistency were excellent. Job well done, Porky's Belly! I'm so glad you are finally open and you did an amazing job with the building itself. Fingers crossed this business thrives in an area with very few restaurants nearby.

This is the beans I got compared to to the ones that were posted by the owner

Over priced for what you get. Pork belly sandwich just ok very little meat for what they charge for it $10.25. Beans I believe were just like Campbells pork and beans out of a can with just a bit of pulled pork added to them. They just didn't have a good homemade flavor at all. Sad for $4.50 plus tax. Dry Mac and cheese $4.50 plus tax. Green beans out of can with a few bits of bacon $4.50 plus tax. We got 2 pork belly sandwiches 4 small sides and 2 ice tea, sitting in a hot building without ac and about $50.00 missing from my wallet. I won't be going back

Breakfast review. Ordered two burritos and 4 tacos. They weren't terrible but disappointed that they were so simple. Just forgettable and not worth the repeat. Place looks nice and service people were friendly.

They will never see my face ever again.

I figured id give this place a visit, first and last time ill ever go. A chopped beef brisket sandwich, $10.50. 2 barbacoa tacos $6.50. The chopped beef sandwich had a little meat between 2 dry peices of bread, no sauce pickles or onions. WTF? Tacos had barbacoa and egg, thats it. No lime, onions or cilantro. The guy taking our order never said 2 words to us. I wonder how long before this place is closed down. If i could give it zero stars i would. Dont waste your time or money.

Ahhh shoot! I had big hopes for this one based on 167 Google reviews and 4.6 stars. Unfortunately it just didn't work for me. It was an all around miss on food, service, and atmosphere. The bbq is okay, but was well past its "serve by" time at 1:00pm on a Wednesday. As you can see in the pictures, you get little squares of lean brisket, which was dry with little flavor until dipped in their one and only sauce, dark and too sweet. The pork ribs tasted as if they'd been kept in a warmer for several hours, which they surely had been given the time, and also quite dry. Oddly, one of my three ribs was almost just the bone, with only a thin layer of meat along one edge - never should've been served. The pulled pork was pretty good - great texture and decent flavor, almost dry but hanging in there. The sides were universally blah - beans, cole slaw, and potato salad, bland and not quite as much flavor as HEB. As for service, the young lady had a lot of trouble understanding my very simple order and had to go and get help twice before one of the manager/owners finally came out, waved his hand over the computer screen, and made it work. Then I got a buzzer which want off in just a few minutes, then back to the counter for my tray. Lastly, the vibe is a little schizo. The big metal barn is clearly new, very nicely decorated with a real rustic country feel - I loved the look, and perfect for a real barbecue restaurant. But...No AC! It's basically an ice house, with three large TVs and big garage doors on all sides, open to the 95 degree heat. And flies. Large fans inside help a little, but I had sweat running down my face and sides for the whole meal. The soundtrack is a couple of speakers mounted together on one wall, playing non-stop mariachi a little too loud. Cool at first, annoying after a while. I'll give them another chance, but I'll come much earlier in the day to hopefully catch the meats closer to their ideal service time. And it'll have to be a far cooler day.

Good but overpriced for what you get. I was one of three people there at 12:30 on a Friday with beautiful weather. That says something.

Since we had 4 people eating and I wanted to try a bunch of things, I went a little crazy on the order. I went with a pound of sausage, a pound of brisket, a pound of pulled pork and a rack of ribs. I also ordered baked beans, mashed potatoes and green beans as sides. I could have ordered half of that and still had leftovers. Nothing necessarily stood out as great. The green beans were pretty subpar - they tasted like they were straight out of a can. The baked beans were unimpressive. I think everything else ranged from decent to pretty tasty. But the best thing about this place was that a mountain of food was had for $102. We all could have eaten at least two full meals from this amount of food. Would it have been much more delicious if it had come from Killen's? Absolutely. It also would have cost twice as much. This is an incredibly small and humble operation, so I was glad to support them. If you're looking for bang for you buck in Montgomery, this is a good choice.

Their expertise and passion were evident, which made the experience even better. The brisket was excellent--very moist with a great bark, good flavor, and a satisfying pull. But if you only get one thing, make it the brisket burnt ends. They were absolutely awesome and I highly recommend them. The ribs were a bit too hammy for my personal taste, but that's a preference issue, as I prefer baby back ribs over the spare ribs they served. I tried two of their house-made sausages. The standard house sausage was pretty good, but the jalapeño and cheddar version was even better, adding a great kick of cheese and spice to their basic recipe. The sides were just as impressive as the meat. The dirty rice had some spice and was elevated with delicious shredded brisket mixed in. The cheesy tater casserole was fantastic--very cheesy with a nice peppery flavor and a great texture from the potatoes. For dessert, the cornbread bread pudding was an excellent choice. It was a gooey, decadent dessert with a perfect balance of cornbread and chocolate chips. We also grabbed a tallow chocolate chip cookie to go, saving it to savor later. Overall, this place is the real deal. From the knowledgeable staff to the top-tier brisket and sides, it's clear why they're so highly acclaimed. Very affordable as well!

We saw some great options ( Truth, Triple J, Killen's, and Brisket & Rice were all in the running, and we didn't try any of those so can't say on them). This was a thought out choice and I was super excited to try them! Being a family run operation was really awesome to me as well. First the good to great: the staff was super nice and helpful. The brisket was ah-mazing. Not too Smokey but cooked very tender and delicious! The barbecue sauce was on point. Sauces tend to range from too thin to too thick, too sweet to too spicy but Bar A's hit the bulls eye! Not too thin, not too sweet...I really enjoyed the brisket! Walking up, the smells were incredible! A nice outdoor spot to eat (it was a very mild day and just beautiful out..but I digress). Also, the Mac and Cheese...oh my!! Some of the best I've ever had! The downside: We drove an hour and a half especially to eat here...it was our primary reason for heading up to Montgomery! Getting there around 3pm, you would figure is a sweet spot for a restaurant open from like 11-6 on a Friday. When we went to order as we're trying to figure out the plate we want, you know, 2 meats or 3 meats ...sides, yum, as you're drooling, we were going for the TRINITY Plate. Brisket, rib and sausage...a nice cross section. Nope, we can't do a TRINITY. we only have brisket and turkey left. I know a lot of people love turkey. I'm not one of them and my heart was set on Beef. So now we're on a 1 meat and two sides track I guess. Ok, can we do brisket on the one meat? "Sure I can do that" was the cheery reply. So we got two plates brisket, and I asked could you make that moist cut brisket (my favorite, while my wife always prefers the lean). "Nope, sorry, we're all out of moist brisket". Ok, so one plate with cheesy potato casserole (doesn't that just sound amazing?) and Mac & cheese and one plate With cheesy potato casserole and pinto beans, that way we can get more great tastes and share, right? Oh, and bread, pickles, onions and jalapeños. (The bread is Martins and is always amazing if you know what I'm talking about...I think it's potato roll bread?). Got our plates and start to pay...two $20 plates and no drinks, just water. Over $50! Hmmm, well, the one meat tray with brisket has a $4 up charge. Hmmm. Sat down and got to chowing down! Here's where disappointment sets in. As I said, brisket and sauce was on point. The onions are maybe slightly pickled, not sure, but also very good. The meat, was 3 slices of brisket...4 would have been a sweet spot but eh, 3. The sides. Cheesy potato casserole had the texture of rice...I kept thinking it was rice as I ate it. It had some spice to it but very little flavor. Very disappointing. Mac & cheese--ah-mazing! Pinto beans were like a salt-a-holics take on ranch style beans. Not good. Almost not edible. But I was hungry. I put some sauce on the potato casserole and made it taste ok...still couldn't get Over the rice texture (I'm not saying it had rice, but just had the texture of a rice pilaf ). Two pieces of great bread rounded it out! So overall, disappointed that there wasn't more to choose (ribs, moist brisket, sausage) and I get it, They make so much and sell out then that's good business for them. To the customer who drove and hour and a half to eat there, not so good business. The sides were 1 for 3 in the good to great category and worst of all, after spending $50+ on lunch for 2, I was still hungry. I wouldn't have expected that for sure. I couldn't decide between 3 or 4 star but my missing stars shake out like this: 1 went because of availability and then ultimately being up charged for what was left. And 1 went for disappointing 2 out of 3 sides and portion size/value. Sorry, we didn't take any photos of the food.
