Has anyone ever posted a great review of airport food? I hear rumors this situation is improving, but this is certainly my first! Willamette Grill at the Eugene, Oregon Airport, was unexpected. With our evening arrival, we enjoyed a really good dinner. We just ordered hamburgers, but they were great. When leaving a few days later, we stopped in for breakfast. Very nice indeed, with fresh ingredients. Give this a try if you are in the area. What a nice, and convenient, surprise. Helpful staff as well.

Service of food was pretty slow, which I can see being not the best for airport situations. But I noticed that there was not much workers, so that could've been the cause. I got the soup of the day, which at the time was Mama Leone's soup. And the soup was amazing. It's basically a chicken soup, with a tomato cream based and had other ingredients such as spinach in it. Loved the soup. The employee was super nice, and there are seat choices for more comfort. Also the airport, but the the place was easy-going, which is nice to have at a airport restaurant.

Surprisingly tasty breakfast sandwich! I wasn't looking forward to my plane wait so it was nice to find somewhere I could grab a bite. This place is a great little addition to the airport.

It's an airport grill, so temper your expectations. The staff turns over pretty often, so service is hit and miss. But I'm an uber driver, and I often park and run in for eggs, bacon, potatoes, in addition to surprisingly good coffee. I do take out, or eat in the dining section. It's weirdly good, like breakfast prepared by machine learning, and it travels well (to my car, and beyond). And short term parking is free for the first 30 minutes, so it's sort of a great secret.

Have requested thhe Willamette Breakfast Burrito. Is excellent and pretty quick, maybe 6-8 minutes. Glad I had time for a test.

Not really fancy or exceptional, but it served our needs for a good burger. Every time I come here there is only ever one person to run the register, take orders and serve food and drinks while cleaning off the tables. This review does not reflect the waitstaff who really have the hustle going. Her service, politeness and hustle earned her a nice tip indeed. The food however was a mix of good and bad. I had the barbecue burger with fries. The fries were the shoe string variety. They came out warm, greasy and limp. The burger however, was cooked perfectly. A nice sized thick patty with just a hint of pink in the middle was served hot on a brioche bun. Besides some toasted onion rings, there was a melted slice of cheddar on the burger which also included some fresh lettuce that was firm and crisp, onion slices that were so fresh you'd think they were cut two minutes ago (and just might have been) and a cold sliced fresh tomato. The blend of hot meat with cold veggies makes for an excellent burger, which had just enough barbecue sauce without overdoing it. This IS a bit of a messy affair, so be sure to have some napkins handy and lean over the plate! The light fixture that was dangling down over the table was just a little too bright at almost eye level, so I unscrewed the bulb a bit, much better. This is in an open area of the airport, so this particular diner is more functional than entertainment. I would have gone four stars but the fries were disappointing. Also, don't forget to get your receipt stamped as it serves to validate your parking.

Very unique setup I haven't seen before at an airport. Their kitchen services both pre- and post-security customers. We ordered from the counter near the TSA checkpoint but it wasn't until I flew out later that day that I could see they have a glass wall contained dining room for those awaiting planes. I felt a little bad for the host/waitress because she seemed to doing the job of two or three as she raced to get hot food onto tables while taking orders from the front counter. We both ordered the Willamette Club but I got tots which was an excellent move. They don't look like much on the plate, but they had a nice crunch with a slight bitterness that was addicting. I don't like dressings and condiments but the waitress said their club didn't have any and it didn't. However, it was pretty slathered in butter. It was tasty too but guilt-inducing. Their takeaway containers are paper which is amazing. Their pricing is what you'd expect at an airport: about $15 - 18 per entree. I removed a star because they don't offer many choices. You can get the club, a BLT, tenders, grilled chicken sandwich, quesadillas, crispy chicken salad or a cheeseburger. $4 to upgrade your side to onion rings or a side salad. At least a couple of healthy options would have been appreciated at EUG's only sit down concession.

I've lived here for around 5 years, and another 15 years up in Salem and this little restaurant is a gem in every respect. I've been to Rye at least 4 times since moving here. I had heard about it from friends and so my partner and I first tried it out and were highly impressed with the food, the servce and the ambiance. The menu is just a bit limited but between the specials and the menu offerings, there was plenty to choose from. Above all, what they do, they do very well. I and my partner ate at Rye three nights ago and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience in every way. AMBIENCE... The dining room is terrific. Lots of dark wood. The lighting of the room is especially conducive to privacy but not isolation. Inasmuch as it was raining to beat the band when we arrived, entering felt like a welcoming respite. The patrons' chatter was subdued but clearly they were having a great time. FOOD... We ordered cocktails (I enjoyed a Cocchi Rye whiskey cocktail which was delicious. The French onion soup I ordered was also very tasty and loaded with mozzarella atop the cup. I then dived into a "special" plate of a Chinook salmon fillet, finished perfectly and sitting on a bed or pureed squash. Excellent, I thought. Afterwards, we shared some sort of fruity pastry, sharing with two forks. SERVICE... From where I sat I could watch the bar activity, even the service window into the kitchen allowed me to watch all the activity. Our server was very efficient and cheerful and engaging without being overbearing in any way. AFTERTHOUGHTS: I will be coming back, of course. Rye is where you want to go to have a very good time eating out. You're not going to spend an arm and a leg to eat there but Rye is definitely not Denny's. I think this was my fourth trip there and all four times I felt thoroughly satisfied in every way.

The Skybar is located on the 5th floor of the building along with the Hotel lobby... uh okay. The staff are all very pleasant and accommodating. We went to the SkyBar and found it to be a smallish yet convenient place to wait for guests or visitors along with getting a drink or a bite to eat. The bar looks like it can accommodate about 30 people in the interior. There is a nice outdoor patio that can easily accommodate more when the weather is nice. The barkeeper was very attentive and observant, he took our food and drink requests at the bar and in short order, everything was presented. I had a Moscow Mule that I found to be a refreshing drink. Ginger beer, lime and vodka. An excellent combination. I also had an order of the chicken wings and fries. The fries were a normal shoestring variety, cooked well, nicely salted and came in a metal bowl. The wings I found to be outstanding! I don't usually get wings this well made unless I do it myself. I received 8 wings coated with barbecue sauce on a charcuterie board with the fries. The wings were served nicely hot. The meat was piping hot, juicy and tender. The barbecue coating was a hearty middle of the road sauce, not sweet or too smoky. It was caramelized perfectly for that sticky texture and flavor. Definitely a nice coating. Thankfully the bartender brought us a lot of napkins. The wings and fries made for a satisfying meal. The bar boasts a couple of gas fireplaces that make for a warming environment with a few semi private tables. There is a longer table for a larger group as well as several smaller tables and a few bar stools for game watching. All in all we found the bar to be a cozy semi-private environment, yet available to the guests as they come and go. All around, a nice meeting area and watering hole. We will book our family members for a stay here at the hotel. I'm looking forward to trying more of their specialty drinks.
