I couldn't think of anything I would consider a con about this place. Food was delicious, staff was friendly, view was great, ambiance was calm and relaxing.

We were celebrating my Mother In-laws 80th with family and friends. Sweet Waters is known for its river view, excellent service and entrees. The dining area has great views of the river with ample seating for every party size. We had a party of about 8, we were seated a few rows back from the main windows. Our waitress was very friendly and quickly took our food orders. The Brunch menu offers a large variety of food options from Classic Breakfast dishes to Sandwiches and Burgers. To start a few enjoyed Mimosa's. We then ordered the Scramble, it is served with smoked bacon, piquillo pepper, green onions, cheddar, crisp gold potatoes and choice of toast, a fairly ample plate of food, our party also had the Classic Benedict, poached egg, English muffin, a good portion of shaved ham and a nice portion of hollandaise, a standout dish was the Crab Benedict, with a very generous portion of warmed crab, poached eggs, hollandaise and an amazing salad. All the food was well prepared and well presented, everyone enjoyed their meals. At the end of our meal my Mother In-law was presented a sweet treat, and we all sang Happy Birthday to her. We all had a great time socializing and taking in the views and the ambiance. I am not sure why the ratings are so low for Sweet Waters, we had an amazing time as a family. I look forward to our next visit.

This is a return visit from seven months ago and wow, so much better! Harrison our waiter was excellent, he also indicated that there's a new chef now. Very apparent! The dungeness crab cake was absolutely amazing. The accompanying Sriracha Remoulade was just the right spice and made the dish.Along with the arugula. Enough for 2 or maybe 3 people to have a bite. I ordered the amazing cod beer battered fish and chips for only $20. They have a Halibut option for like $8 more, I like the cod. This fish and chips are the best I've ever had. Light and crispy, just like they serve in Ireland! Spot on. I ordered the fries extra crispy because last time I was here, the sring shoe ones were horrible, limp and over cooked. Not now, they've even changed to a larger flat French fry and a wonderful slightly spicy seasoning. My husband also liked his. Now the coleslaw is another issue, I told our waiter Harrison that they should leave it off the plate or get it right. Not only was it tasteless, but it looked like it was at its peak about five days ago was slightly browning edges. That's okay. The rest of it was awesome so I'll forgive the chef for that one, plus everyone else in our group loved the service and the food. Our son ordered the rigatoni and elk meatballs. He said it was an amazing dish, complimented by the arugula and pine nut salad. His partner ordered the beef and pork meatloaf with port wine brown glaze, garlic mashed potatoes and baby carrots. His comment was simply amazing. My husband ordered their roasted turkey BLT with fries. A winner!!!

Second time here! Love the ambience here. The staff is truly amazing!! The food is delightful! Love love the soups here as well. We haven't been here during the day yet but would love to sit on the patio seeing the river view next time!

What a wonderful experience, starting with the food, but enhanced by the incredible service we received by Jeremy. He was so passionate when he was describing the specials, answered all of our questions with patience and grace, allowed me to make a substitution that ended up making my dinner divine. The New York, cooked exactly as ordered, with greens and garlic mashers was perfection. We will be sure to come back when I return to Oregon.

We have often enjoyed a great view and dinner at Sweet Waters. Thought we would try the happy hour and watch The Masters. Drink was great, no name, and draft pour was great, fries for six bucks did the job. The worst part was the service from the bartender. They never checked in after an hour, after several eye contacts. Seemed to be more engaged in meeting the male customer at the bar, as the bartender voice and conversation was all you could hear. Very disappointing to have such poor customer service from what should be an experienced bartender and exceptional customer service. Due to her poor work performance they've lost a customer. We didn't even get the check we just left cash on the table. Saw her running to the table once she noticed that. Yes we paid in full and a small tip, because that's the right thing to do. Please improve your customer service as a bartender.

Service was nice. Felt a bit like we were kinda rushed. It was a Tuesday at around 6:30pm and the restaurant was not busy so I'm not sure why it felt like they wanted us to eat and drink our food fast. We ordered a couple of drinks and other than having bunch of appetizers, we got the salad with chicken as the entree. The food was good, it had a nice atmosphere and we enjoyed our time relaxing a little bit while looking at the river with the sun in our eyes.

The views in this restaurant are beautiful and the vibes are great, definitely recommend for out of town visitors or for a special occasion! Didn't venture out too much for food (got the burger, truffle fries, and caesar salad), but they were all tasty.

Amazing service! Great cocktails. Fabulous atmosphere. Love the location! Decent food. NY strip was underwhelming. Nice but very drunk guy hanging out at the hostess stand talking to patrons as they enter, which was unprofessional. If he was the owner of the place, he shouldn't be inebriated while at the host stand.

The Skybar is located on the 5th floor of the building along with the Hotel lobby... uh okay. The staff are all very pleasant and accommodating. We went to the SkyBar and found it to be a smallish yet convenient place to wait for guests or visitors along with getting a drink or a bite to eat. The bar looks like it can accommodate about 30 people in the interior. There is a nice outdoor patio that can easily accommodate more when the weather is nice. The barkeeper was very attentive and observant, he took our food and drink requests at the bar and in short order, everything was presented. I had a Moscow Mule that I found to be a refreshing drink. Ginger beer, lime and vodka. An excellent combination. I also had an order of the chicken wings and fries. The fries were a normal shoestring variety, cooked well, nicely salted and came in a metal bowl. The wings I found to be outstanding! I don't usually get wings this well made unless I do it myself. I received 8 wings coated with barbecue sauce on a charcuterie board with the fries. The wings were served nicely hot. The meat was piping hot, juicy and tender. The barbecue coating was a hearty middle of the road sauce, not sweet or too smoky. It was caramelized perfectly for that sticky texture and flavor. Definitely a nice coating. Thankfully the bartender brought us a lot of napkins. The wings and fries made for a satisfying meal. The bar boasts a couple of gas fireplaces that make for a warming environment with a few semi private tables. There is a longer table for a larger group as well as several smaller tables and a few bar stools for game watching. All in all we found the bar to be a cozy semi-private environment, yet available to the guests as they come and go. All around, a nice meeting area and watering hole. We will book our family members for a stay here at the hotel. I'm looking forward to trying more of their specialty drinks.

But it's the only tiki bar for miles and it has a unique tiki + horror theme that I appreciate: emphasizing creepy mugs, playing vintage Godzilla on the TV, and a collection of drinks named after monsters. They also have custom mugs for sale, which is always awesome to see. My partner enjoyed her Chinese Mai Tai, but my Bride of Frankenstein tasted like light cream. The service was good. I've lived here for around 5 years, and another 15 years up in Salem and this little restaurant is a gem in every respect. I've been to Rye at least 4 times since moving here. I had heard about it from friends and so my partner and I first tried it out and were highly impressed with the food, the servce and the ambiance. The menu is just a bit limited but between the specials and the menu offerings, there was plenty to choose from. Above all, what they do, they do very well. I and my partner ate at Rye three nights ago and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience in every way. AMBIENCE... The dining room is terrific. Lots of dark wood. The lighting of the room is especially conducive to privacy but not isolation. Inasmuch as it was raining to beat the band when we arrived, entering felt like a welcoming respite. The patrons' chatter was subdued but clearly they were having a great time. FOOD... We ordered cocktails (I enjoyed a Cocchi Rye whiskey cocktail which was delicious. The French onion soup I ordered was also very tasty and loaded with mozzarella atop the cup. I then dived into a "special" plate of a Chinook salmon fillet, finished perfectly and sitting on a bed or pureed squash. Excellent, I thought. Afterwards, we shared some sort of fruity pastry, sharing with two forks. SERVICE... From where I sat I could watch the bar activity, even the service window into the kitchen allowed me to watch all the activity. Our server was very efficient and cheerful and engaging without being overbearing in any way. AFTERTHOUGHTS: I will be coming back, of course. Rye is where you want to go to have a very good time eating out. You're not going to spend an arm and a leg to eat there but Rye is definitely not Denny's.
