We had Tomato & Cheese flatbread ( it was ok, not much flavor), Wildfire chopped salad (it needed more salt), Macadamia Nut Crusted Halibut (this was very tasty and lots of flavor) side dishes were Red Skin Mashed potatoes and fresh broccoli with lemon vinaigrette (the broccoli needed more salt)! The best part of the entire meal were the desserts-homemade Key Lime pie and their famous Triple Layer Chocolate Cake! This is one of my all time favorite restaurants. It never disappoints no matter what I get. They have a variety of options for everyone. I have tried many things here. Sometimes I stick to some favorites and other times I try new options. Today we went for dinner and started with the Shrimp Cocktail and Baked Goat Cheese Flatbread dip. Both amazing!! We split a seasonal salad- had apples, cranberries, blue cheese, etc. For our entrees we both got steak with different crusts- mashed potatoes, sweet potato, roasted veggies and creamed spinach. My husband and I came in on a Saturday afternoon, we sat at the bar, and Gina was our bartender. She was super friendly, made great drinks. The one draw back to the bar seating was a rogue vent blowing really cold air right on us. The food was good, my husband got the rib eye steak sliders, he loved them, but was sad there were only 2. The restaurant has that dining toom flavor with comfortable chairs and you can talk easily without getting loud when you're in the main dining room. Our waiter Kevin was efficient serving out good hot, filling our water glasses and having dirty dishes taken away as well as being polite and leaving us with the feeling that he was nice I had a here chop salad so I could take home left overs and while the salad is expensive at $32 I still love it. BUT, church your receipt because there is an automatic $.99 sir charge. This restaurant is always busy so there is no reason to add this cost onto the bill. read more

The venue for my niece's high school graduation party, Wildfire went above and beyond to make the once in a lifetime celebration super memorable. I tip my hat to our servers, George and Emanuel, for their excellent work during the four or so hours we were there. Both gentlemen were very friendly as well. Our very small guest list was treated to some top-notch food. I usually don't rave about salad, but the chopped salad was really delicious, especially when paired with the accompanying the hot, chewy goodness that was the calamari. More importantly, the main course -- the filet mignon and the BBQ spare ribs -- met my expectations. I must confess the filet mignon was too well done for my liking but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The ribs were rich in spice, sweetness, and juiciness. Also, they were drizzled in sauce, but to where it left a mess. In the end, we were left with plenty of food of which we were allowed to box. Allow me to conclude the review by saying that Wildfire does great at keeping the spirit of the Rat Pack era alive. I'm certain Frank, Dean, Sammy, et al. would've dug it here. read more

FAMILY and I reserve at this location monthly. It's always been a favorite for the family many rooms to the place always busy many staff members . I've noticed one thing they have done. We used to get two side items with a meal and now it's only one so the restaurant is cutting back on cost but they are not lowering the prices even when an item is removed from the meal. still the family and I will go there. The main reason why they got a good review from us is because of EDDIE the server. He stands out above the rest. Everyone is wonderful there, but he is on top of things always refilling your drinks always asking about another alcohol drink making sure there's enough bread checking on us constantly making sure there's enough room at the table moving dishes . Always smiling happy and making sure we have a good time . Eddie is your number one. Many servers have served us. They are very kind. Good hearted people. I have picked up food there. I also have come in to deliver for DOOR DASH and UBER EATS and the staff up front are always wonderful with me regardless of the pressures that are put on them from other drivers. One time, my uncle, yes he drinks unfortunately fell outside at the curb step. I've seen many people fall there. Every restaurant is like that we can not put blame on them. Don't know what they can do to change that it's already painted red so people cannot miss it. But that day when he fell, Management was out there quickly no matter if he's a tough guy and did not want help. They still got the police and ambulance there to check him out. I was happy for that so I give props to everybody. Unfortunately, I cannot give it a five star. I've seen some changes and I'm very picky you take away a food item and still charge the same amount or more and I know you're charging a separate charge for disinfecting the table, which cleaning disinfecting the table should be done regardless. but no matter what it's always been a safe, healthy choice good food restaurant we will always reserve every month and try to request Eddie as our server. It's been many years since our last visit to Wildfire in Glenview. That happens when you move out of state. First thing I noticed was that for a Friday night visit there wasn't anyone waiting to be seated. This place used to be jammed. Most tables were filled however, so many people are just eating earlier and we beat the crowds. We were seated immediately and ordered a glass of wine. I ordered the half herb roasted chicken with mashed potatoes and a side of creamy spinach. Wifey ordered the Friday special filet Wellington with scallop potatoes. We'll the Wellington was eaten the potatoes were left on the plate. Also ordered the cornbread skillet. Years ago that was given in place of rolls which are put out now. The cornbread has a slight kick to it which is noticed after you finished it. The chicken and Wellington came shortly afterwards. Both were enjoyed. Spinach was good as was the mashed potatoes. Ordered the blueberry pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream which was shared and enjoyed. Nice crust. Found a 3% restaurant surcharge on my bill. Not sure what that went for or to whom. Our server was friendly and answered our questions and the restaurant still looks very clean and a joy to dine in. read more

While visiting with some friends. It was recommended to me to try Wildfire. This restaurant definitely had a cozy feel and laid back atmosphere. We started off with jumbo shrimp and crab cakes. The crab cakes were phenomenal. The crab cakes were probably the best I have had. Then the table ordered the grilled chicken club Sandwich. The Smoked Salmon and then the NY Steak Sandwich with fries. Also we got roasted vegetables which was amazing. The overall experience was okay, the service was a little slow. But the restaurant was packed. Overall I would give my experience and food a 7.7. Service could have been better. But the restaurant was nice, but overall the people made the experience better. Down the rating goes. Clearly they don't take Restaurant Week seriously. Despite a promising menu with more options than most restaurants that participate, it is a letdown experience that serves to frustrate. We were seated in a far-off area of the restaurant. I say that because it was one in which few waiters ever passed by it. It took us a while to even get water, and then it took about 20 minutes just for drinks. Our waiter was never around much, maybe 10 minutes between each visit, so it was hard to find anyone to help us if we needed something. The entire 2.5 hour dinner (just two of us, no need to take that long honestly) was a letdown in execution. My cup of soup from the RW menu was a piddling little thing, barely hot, just disappointing. My main dish arrived with a horseradish crust, something I've had here before, but this time extremely salty. The side dish was cold. I finally found our waiter and he was gracious in having it warmed up, but given the inefficiency of this evening, it wasn't back on the table until well after we finished our main courses. We got some dessert from the RW menu, each of us only having a few bites at most from being full (full of middling food, but we were hungry haha). The cherry pie was legitimately cold. Isn't it supposed to be served hot? I feel like that's one of the things that makes it appealing! After that disappointment, I was quite concerned, because I bit down onto something hard. It was ostensibly edible, most likely an uncooked kernel of corn (or popcorn!?). After waiting awhile, again, for our server, he was nice about it. I give our waiter credit for comping our drinks due to this fiasco. We didn't ask him to and wouldn't have done so, but he took the initiative. For that, we we thanked him and were happy he did that. The place was hopping on a Tuesday night but we were able to sit at a high top in the bar and were served promptly. Water appeared almost instantaneously. Our order was turned around in about 15 minutes. Perfectly cooked 16 ounce prime rib medium rare; thick, juicy, nicely seasoned and fresh. Accompanying mixed vegetable medley was lightly sautéed, gently roasted, and full of flavor. The Tuesday night special, roasted turkey, with herbed stuffing and masked potatoes was all white meat and generously sliced. I picked Wildfire for my birthday dinner, in large part because restaurants in the Lettuce group have gone above and beyond in accommodating my food allergies. And because with my birthday being on a Tuesday, I wanted upscale and also nearby. I made a reservation on OpenTable and noted that it was my birthday. We were seated right away at one of those half-circle booths where you're never really sure where to sit when there are only two of you. We figured ourselves out eventually but we're always awkward in those. Our server was beyond incredible. He was the right balance of fun and engaging while never overstaying his welcome making small talk. We shared a salad and then I had the prime rib, which was excellent. We each had a couple of cocktails. My seasonal French 75 with strawberries in it was lovely and my dirty martini paired well with my entree. We were given flourless chocolate cake for dessert for my birthday and, honestly, I would go back just for this (though I didn't actually see it on the menu). Not sure whats up with the reviews, but I have always liked this place. Its a nice big restaurant with some big eats! It has been a favorite of my family for years. We went for my Sister in Law's birthday yesterday and it was great! Steaks are the main feature on the menu and they are awesome! If you wanted a steakhouse type steak, but not the whole cost and fanciness of downtown, this works well. I actually got the burger special yesterday. The only issue was that it was slightly undercooked to my liking which made it fall apart (I asked for medium, but got medium rare). My sister in law got the steak sandwich, but they didn't ask her what doneness she wanted. An easy mistake for the server that they made right immediately, but a small hiccup. The desserts are always excellent here. They also have some good cocktails! The only downside of this place is that it can get a little crowded and thus service can lack. Our guy yesterday was outstanding, but sometimes service is hit or miss (usually on how busy it is....it was empty when we were there for lunch). Its also a little bit on the expensive side, but I think that is pretty well known as it portrays itself as a little upscale, but still family friendly. Don't recommend because it can't be trusted because of the HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE we had! Just came from Wildfire right now (Saturday august 30, arrived there a little after 4 pm) to write this review. First of all we got seated in the bar automatically which I was not expecting and did not like. I don't like sitting in bars, they should ask first but the hostess looked like she could care less. Our booth was directly straight in the back and it's the first large booth where you can face the tv directly. It's against a window with a big sill area. Our waiter was slow and probably newer. My husband and I ordered appetizers which were good and while we were waiting for the entree my husband says what's that in your hair? I'm like what?!! It was a large cockroach!! I'm not kidding! I screamed and tried to get our freaking waiter but he was nowhere to be f ing found so I asked someone there to get him and the manager. They came. I did not get the managers name but he had glasses kinda shorter and dark hair. My husband had swatted the little fucker roach and put it in the napkin so the manager could see it. He saw it alright and of course apologized and said we didn't have to pay for anything. It was actually quite a large roach according to my husband and I am completely disgusted and I keep swatting my hair cuz I got the creepy crawlies now!! UNACCEPTABLE WILDFIRE! NEVER COMING BACK, EVER!! We did not pay for anything nor would we f ing ever. But I also don't want to have a bug crawling in my hair! My husband left a tip because we had already gotten and eaten the appetizers and the manager said no it's okay but that's just the kind of good person my husband is. I'm disgusted that I even ate the appetizers after this incident!!! I wish I would have taken a picture cuz I am so pissed now it's hard to even write this. We went here for a private event and the service was great! Food was family style and it came out in 3 courses. First course was the chopped salad and tomato and mozzarella flat bread. Both were 5 stars. 2nd course was the lemon piccata and filet mignon. Both items were cooked perfectly. I preferred the filet mignon but only bc I rarely eat red meat so I devoured it hahaha. They also provided sides which were mashed potatoes and roasted veggies. The mashed potatoes were so creamy and tasty. For dessert we had cheesecake and a 3 layer chocolate cake. Everything was absolutely delicious and service was great. We were in a private room towards the back so it was an intimate gathering away from the main restaurant area. Once again, my wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary with dinner at Wildfire in Glenview. It fell on a weekday, and I made a reservation for a booth. In retrospect, this was not the wisest decision because we were seated in the main dining room, where the noise level was high, and the wait-staff kept running past our table throughout our visit. In addition, the lighting was uncomfortably low, at least for my aged eyes. In the future, I will ask for seating in one of the banquet rooms, should it be available, where the noise level is considerably lower. Our server, Patrick, was amiable and professional despite his assignment to serve another table with a very large party. This slowed our service a bit, mainly while awaiting our order to be taken, but I think that he did a credible job despite the slight handicap. And we thank him for the complimentary wedge of cake for dessert! Regarding prices: The costs seem to escalate every time that we visit this restaurant. To be fair, this has become commonplace. I noted the message on the menu stating that a 3% surcharge, removable upon request, would be added to "offset rising costs." This is an annoying fact of life post-pandemic - or should I say, "post runaway inflation." Nonetheless, I requested its removal, and Patrick didn't hesitate to do so. As a starter, I ordered a bowl of Baked French Onion Soup ($10.95). It was rich in flavor but somewhat salty. I chose the Queen cut of the Roasted Prime Rib of Beef Au Jus (16 oz, $48.95) for my entrée while my wife ordered the New York Strip Steak (14 oz, $47.95). Both were perfectly cooked to the requested level and were quite tender. The steak was flavorful, but the rib cut was somewhat bland and fatty. For sides, I chose Au Gratin Potatoes while my wife ordered the Red Skin Mashed Potatoes. We both agreed that the potato dishes were tasty, but the portion sizes were small. A bonus for us was that our visit coincided with the "scratch-off" bonus points period which runs during the late summer at Lettuce Entertainment restaurants. This program generates small future credits when one participates in the Lettuce Eats Frequent Diner program. Overall, our experience was enjoyable but not outstanding. Will we return? Probably, because of the consistency of the experience here as well as the bonus credits in the dining program. read more

Wildfire still has one of the best Chopped Salads of any restaurant around. The salad is gigantic and filled with chicken, tortilla strips, corn, a half of an avocado, and so much more. The dressing is a citrus lime vinaigrette. It is perfect. Not tart at all and compliments the ingredients. I order dinner salads as an entree at many restaurants but Wildfires is one of the best. If you like being insulted when you order food, go to Wildfire! My friend and I were there for lunch in the bar, not long ago and had the worst service. That's right we were insulted when we ordered. Not kidding. Wish I was. It's a shame because we love this place and go there all the time but no more. On your way into Wildfire, you may spend a few seconds to take in the grand dining room in awe - the ambience leans towards fine and upscale dining, thanks to the dim lighting, adequate selection of stakes and chops, or even the attentive staff (the type that won't hesitate pulling out a chair to seat you). Truth be told, it's easy to be happy here, whether your order the Bison Meatballs or the Oven-Roasted Lump Crab Cakes. One of my favorite starters, the Baked Goat Cheese, features a simple, marinara-like tomato sauce topped with tart, tangy goat cheese. The interplay of the sweetness of the tomatoes underlined by the strong fragrance of the cheese is mind numbingly good...especially once you spoon it on the flatbread that's served on the side. Ordering the Calamari might pique your interest if you're in for some tender seafood, but don't found on it being seasoned or carrying any flavor by itself - you're likely going to need to use the ranch or cocktail sauce on the side. And for your main meal, you may yearn for something lighter and go with the Greek Salad (just as I did). The classic combination of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, olives, and feta cheese is a simple yet magical combination. I recommend ordering the salad plain without the dressing and to instead request it on the side; that way, you'll be able to taste just how fresh and delicious this salad on its own. But no matter how full you are, you can't leave without splurging on dessert. It may be hard picking between the dense, creamy chocolate cake served with whipped cream on top, the key lime pie, or the chocolate chip cookie cake. My personal favorite was the brownie; a smooth, creamy interior in which the natural sweetness of the chocolate pulls through. But to take no chances, you should probably order it all. read more

I have been to Wildfire a few times, and all of my experiences have been mediocre. I only come because my mother in law loves this place. What I will say is that the dinner rolls are good and the salad is good. However, I think they really skimp on the chicken in the salad. It was barely a serving a chicken. I got the chopped salad and there was barely any chicken. I got the SPIT-ROASTED HALF CHICKEN and it litterally tasted like spit and nothing else. I got broccoli as a side dish. The broccoli is just sad as it looked like they microwaved it and thats it. It had no flavor. The chicken is overpriced for what you get. Costco rotisserie chicken tastes better, and it's only 5 bucks. I sent my food back and they were willing to give me something else, but again I was just turned off. My father in law got a steak and asked for it medium rare. This steak came out beyond rare. They recooked it and it was the most bland tough steak I have ever ate. Taco bell and chiptole have better steak. They should have used a new steak. The service was fine, but this place is way over priced and not worth it. It got a 2 because the service was fine. What can I say? I'm a Wildfire snob. Been coming here for what feels like centuries. Oakbrook, Schaumburg, downtown; Glenview is by far my favorite location. Although Schaumburg isn't too shabby if you are in that neighborhood (Ernesto is the ish: do yourself a favor and sit in his section). Stormy night is where it is at. My favorite drink of all time. It taste like I'm drinking Jolly Rancher. Too sweet for some, just right for me! I'm disappointed that their menu is extremely limited now due to Covid. However, I'm extremely grateful they have remained open and I don't take their martinis for granted. I literally do a prayer every time before I cheers now. Lol. It's that serious. So in short, I'll take what I can get off the menu! I've seen a lot of changes over the years and changes I don't necessarily agree with but understand why. They got rid of their bread loafs (which were the best!) because they wasted a lot of it. So they only give you two pieces of corn bread now but it's still great and cuts out the carbs! They also got rid of their artichoke app which was amazing. So basically, they got rid of everything good but the stormy night still remains and I can't complain. Anything you get here is delicious. The Cobb salad is a must, anything with steak and fish is great. They have great sandwiches that are relatively affordable if you don't feel like splurging. read more

I've heard good things about Wildfire so my expectations were high going in for a work-related lunch. It suited the purpose well: a great environment and excellent service. We shared calamari plus chicken skewers which were good but nothing out of the ordinary, especially since the calamari was a not crisp. I ordered the Southwest Salad and was disappointed. It mainly consisted of bland chopped iceberg lettuce with some corn, onions, black beans straight out of a can and chopped onions thrown in. The steak part was very small diced cold left-overish chunks of beef, some grisled, tossed in some seasoning, and the dressing was well-balanced. For $25, I expected more, such as mixed tossed baby greens with black garlic and onion simmered beans with a small freshly grilled sliced warm steak on top. There's so much creativity that could be used and instead they took their inspiration from a salad bag kit. I looked around the table to see if my choice was poor, but nothing grabbed my attention that I wish I had ordered or my curiousity to come back. read more
