Classic steakhouse and it definitely has that feel. I've never been to this location before. We a had a large group for a business meal and the staff tested us fantastically. Appetizers were quite good with the colossal prawns, the lobster bisque was rich and creamy savory. I had the bone in ribeye, which was nicely cooked and was very flavorful and juicy. Just kind of wish the dinner moved along a bit faster as the transitions between took a bit of time. The mixed green salad was a refreshing way to start the meal. The filet mignon was the star of the night. You can immediately tell by the smell once the steaks entered the room. It was recommended our steaks to be cooked medium rare plus, which was perfect as it cut like butter. We just had an absolutely fabulous dinner at Morton's. We were kind of celebrating my birthday, my brother's birthday, and Father's Day. all at once, which is kind of a family tradition. Our server was Gabriella, and she could not have been any nicer. Besides the food being fabulous as always, she made our visit so extra special. She had a bubbly personality, and was such a lovely person. We ordered a lot of food, we had steaks and lots of sides, we had a birthday cake come out and it was just one of the best celebrations we have all had as a family in a long time. Went to this location for restaurant month. Selected from the preset menu for $60. Let me tell you, there were plenty of options. We had two waiters for our table. Seemed odd but we rolled with it. Food was delicious and plenty to eat. The restaurant is fairly large and with all the other diners, it was quiet enough to hear each other during a conversation. From start to finish, everything was outstanding. I personally enjoyed the Cajun steak topped with crab meat, along with all the delicious sides. Stopped in for dinner last weekend. The vibe was typical steakhouse--lots of dark wood and booths along the walls. The onion bread and Caesar salad were both delicious. I added a lobster tail to my meal and it was just ok. Would not order again. My wagyu filet had some burnt edges. The lobster mac and cheese was really good. Service was very good. Stopped by Morton's Steakhouse during Chicago restaurant week. I made reservations online and checked the restaurant week special so they would know why we were coming in. They have plenty of parking, and they do have a dress code. With our reservations, we were sat right away by a host. The dining area has a nice vibe to it. Low lighting nicely set up. They don't let dirty dishes stay on the table long, and they flip tables quickly to be able to keep up with the crowds they get. Our server was nice and attentive. Even though he was busy, he made sure to check on us every so often. I ordered the Caesar salad, filet mignon, sour cream mashed potatoes, and for dessert the chefs special soufflé. Dinner was excellent, but could use a little improvement in the taste department. The Caesar salad was just your average with two croutons could have used some more. The steak was the best part of my meal. It was cooked to perfection and nice and tender wmand seasoned well. I could have done without the mashed potatoes. I couldn't really taste the sour cream and so it was just okay. I tried my friends creamed spinach and it was not for me. Their fries are pretty tasty too. Service was incredible. Our waiter was very lovely and attentive. All of our apps and sides were also amazing but my steak was under cooked 2 times. I ordered it medium (judge me if you want) and it came out red and juicy in the middle. I sent it back once and by the second time I just kind of wanted to eat and it was cooked enough for me to get down. Very nice dining room with exceptional service and plenty of parking. The ingredients here are high quality and dishes are plated nicely. The only real drawback for me is that the quality of the food didn't really reflect the prices. This is not to say that any of the food was bad, it was just unmemorable compared to other upscale restaurants that I've dined at. Here are my thoughts on the items I tried: Rolls: Hot and has a good firmness. Fairly standard for a freshly baked dinner roll. Morton's salad: Fresh lettuce and came with plenty of chopped egg, but the blue cheese dressing was a bit excessive both in the amount and in the saltiness for me. Jumbo shrimp cocktail: Fairly standard shrimp cocktail, except with very large sized shrimp. I enjoyed the presentation. Jumbo scallops: Large and lightly seasoned. Grilled to the perfect texture. Chicken christopher: The chicken was a bit overcooked and the breading wasn't super crunchy, though I liked the garlic white wine sauce. Broiled salmon: Cooked nicely where the meat was still quite juicy and flavorful. The nice light sauce helped to elevate the flavor of the salmon. Green beans: Fresh but I didn't much of the sauteed garlic flavor out of them. Sour cream mashed potatoes: A bit clumpier than I would've liked and the sour cream didn't seem to affect the flavor much, but an alright preparation. Double chocolate mousse: I liked the mint leaf and the berry but was mixed on the mousse. The flavor was good and had the right amount of sweetness and bitterness, but the thick texture created an unpleasant mouthfeel that detracted from the overall experience. Coffee: Fairly standard coffee for a restaurant. Low bitterness and a good way to end a meal. Overall, fairly standard food for an upscale steak house. I would dine here again, but it's more for the atmosphere and service than for the food. read more

Morton's is an average steakhouse in the North shore. My steaks did not have much flavor, and the edges were burnt as well. I ordered them medium rare, and I found them to be very tough compared to steaks I have received from other steakhouses. The bread here is very good though, and the scallops were tender and flavorful as well. The sides were also very shareable. read more

Came here last minute to start my birthday celebrations at their bar for drinks and apps. This did NOT go well to say the least. Our server, B in the Bar, and acted like a B, just wasn't having fun this evening and let's just say, wasn't sharing our positive vibes. We had five minutes before happy our drinks were over so we ordered their happy hour cocktails; but they tasted off so we asked to order something else. A short bartender came over and we explained the drinks tasted off and the old fashioned was way too sweet. This bartender acted as if his manhood was taken from him and took our drinks away in a huff after we said we'd like to order something else. This dude literally walks away with our drinks and doesn't come back to accept our new drink orders. Our server B comes back after ignoring us several times as he passed by the only low table smack dab before going in the back prep area. We ordered several martinis and both came with no olives as ordered. We were like wtf?? We flagged down the short bartender that made them and he brought 2 toothpicks with olives in hand. He didn't place them neatly or shall I say hygienically on a plate, No he just held the tooth picked olives in both hands and handed to us! Now this is what you'd call just plain BAD service manners! Our apps came and we got some filet sliders, truffle fries and onion rings. The fries were dry AF and sliders were meh and the onion rings were the only good thing....but We decided to move on from this disaster and asked for the check and our server B actually says "oh I'm not charging you for the cocktails you initially ordered" My friend turns to me and says, why would he charge us anyway for drinks that we didn't drink?" And B eavesdrops on our convo and says "You'd be surprised some places will charge you". Oh geez thanks B for the education J-hole! We're outta here and not ever coming back. Morton's has a really nice system in place for takeout orders. Guests have an option of ordering online or the other phone. The ordering process is really smooth and efficient and they have the orders all lined up for pickup. The food is of course delicious. We ordered a few sides with potatoes au gratin, wedge salad, brussel sprouts, creamed spinach, and everything was so delicious. Excellent service and perfect file mignons. Sides ordered: 1. Horse radish mashed potatoes ( yummy but on the sour side) 2. Grilled asparagus ( expect a balsamic vinegarette reduction on top - wasn't a fan - and wish it was listed on the menu that it was coming like that but the asparagus texture was superb) 3. Lobster mac and cheese - dense and delish. This is a meal in itself. No joke. 4. Lyonnaise potatoes (yumm) Our party also ordered the ahi tuna tower - fresh and superb! Someone mentions Morton's Steakhouse, you immediately think of another white table cloth restaurant, and you are right! Morton's offers the convenience of being located in Chicago's North Shore suburbs and the city, so if you are just looking to have good steak without driving Downtown you can. Our group had reservations for a birthday dinner on Saturday night. We arrived and were immediately seated, as the restaurant didn't appear to be very busy. I do want to start to start off with the service first before taking about the rest of it. I think we've noticed across the nation the decline in service post pandemic; this applies to any establishment that requires customer service. Nonetheless, I frankly didn't believe this could impact the upscale establishments, because they have a reputation to uphold. With that being said, I want to say our waitress provided a mediocre service throughout our dining experience. First let me clarify she WAS NOT rude, but she seemed distracted and less attentive during our interactions. I also noticed the limited number of times she visited our table; we had to flag her down sometimes. I just hope she was having an off day and Morton's continues to maintain an excellent service. Now to the evening, we skipped drinks (except for 1) and decided to just focus on the food. The menu is pretty similar to any of that's offered at a steakhouse, so we had an idea of what we getting. Most of us didn't get any drinks or appetizers, because we decided to get few sides as appz. Side ordered: lobster Mac & cheese, Brussels sprout, truffle fries and creamed corn. The side orders were all very good with the exception of Brussels sprout. The vegetable seemed to lack flavor and wasn't cooked all the way. Our entrees consisted of filet mignon's (8 & 12 oz), miso marinated Seabass , shrimp scampi and King Salmon. The steak dishes were all tender and cooked perfectly. As for the seafood entrees, those dishes were good, but it is a steakhouse so I would stick with steak. We ended with getting few desserts for the table and all were very delicious; I highly recommend the chocolate cake (which apparently takes time so order in advance) read more

Celebrated Valentine's Day, with 6:00 reservations and was seated promptly. We ordered cocktails and appetizers to start off and all were delicious and nice . We ordered Bone in Ribeye, Shrimp cocktail's which was huge and delicious. Loaded bake potato and creamed spinach which could've used more seasonings and onion rings, then finished off with a Sundae. Ahi Tuna poke is so good, my husband would want to order more of it-- if we don't plan on having the rest of the dinner we would have. Cajun rib eye, Lobster and the spinach w/ button mushrooms were so good. With Filet mignon, maybe we could have ordered it with some more to it like maybe a truffle butter to spike it up. It was ok. It's Mortons, admittedly not my jam but Ruth Chris next door was packed so plan B. An expensive plan B at that. The wife and I really just wanted a bev and bar bite within an hours time before we were off to our next stop. For that 'move' the window in the bar is 5pm-7pm for half price wins. Unfortunately we had missed that window because we were unaware of it beforehand so we made do. Making do ended up looking like this - Bev - water it is! Passing on drinks altogether because booze was 16. That coupled with the fact that we were headed to a brewery next just seemed like overkill. Bites - we ordered three things 1) brussel sprouts side 2) tuna tacos 3) petite filet mignon sandwiches The brussels were perfect, the tuna tacos were different and enjoyable but tiny! Could of used three more, the sandwiches were ok. I actually meant to order the three prime cheeseburgers instead, so that was my bad. It was a fast $50 that is for sure but look where you are, northshore baby. The service was good as is expected. We'll probably return to indulge in some half price wins now that we know. read more

Short summary: Steak was excellent; fries very good; Szechuan string beans horrible; service was a problem. My wife and I went to Morton's for our anniversary tonight (Friday September 27th). We arrived at 6:35 PM and were promptly seated by a friendly and professional maitre'd. From there things went south. Our waitress, was a nice young lady but clearly is in the wrong role. It was perhaps 15-20 minutes before she took our order. Our salad (iceberg wedge) did not arrive until 20 minutes after that. A further 15-20 minutes later our fries arrived and five minutes later our steak. Our waitress forgot the string beans - which only arrived after we prompted her and after we had finished the main course. We had to ask for a water refill (after the meal was over). The best part is that we barely touched the cone of fries. So we asked to take them home. When we got home we discovered that they only gave us a tiny portion of the fries that we had not eaten. We certainly will not be going back to Morton's in Northbrook! read more

I truly enjoy the happy hour food and atmosphere here because sometimes - you just want to eat light, have a few drinks and head out without making it an all evening affair. The tables by the bar are limited but you can always sit at the bar, which seats about 10 - 12 people. The service is attentive - as if you ordered Rack of Lamb, which is great. As for the food, I have to say that their steak sandwiches really hit the spot for me but you can't really go wrong - just order every item so you can get a good idea of what to come back for. The place does get a little crowded so come early before everyone gets out of work. read more

Morton's has never failed us! This is the fourth location I've been to over the years and it was great! My husband called in a to go order for us around 4pm, and the gentleman who answered was so cheerful, helpful, and pleasant. Food was ready for us very quickly, and it was delivered to the car. They even split the big steak into two containers for us! We got the chop salad, the wedge, potatoes au gratin, an onion loaf, and a ribeye. It was all excellent (I think the salads are underrated--they have always been top notch). We had plenty of food and are both looking forward to the leftovers. One of the absolute worst steaks I've ever had in my life, and if you come here, you deserved to be taken for your fifty dollars when you can buy the same damn thing and cook it in a skillet for a fraction of the price and it be ten times better too! And it's not like they were having an off night. It was a Saturday and I came here with my uncle. I ordered the 16 oz prime steak cut without the bone. Since you're paying a premium, you'd expect absolute perfection, but the steak was hard and chewy, definitely not medium rare! If I cut into the steak it should cut without much struggle. This definitely wasn't the case. Don't know how such a high-end restaurant can botch this up, but they made more of an amateurish mistake by not even letting the steak rest in its own au jus. Pathetic. Overpriced. Would never consider dining here again! I demanded the chef take it back and retire! I ate at another restaurant that unfortunately has only two people in it, and it was much, much, better! This is a great steakhouse with many options for anyone's taste. We've been to several Morton's and this is one of the top. A big reason is the staff and management. They do a consistently great job. Last night my family had another five star experience. We started with the Short-Rib Tacos and Oysters Rockefeller. Both were done very well. We also started with a great Malbec. I love their wine selection. Great wines in all price ranges and varietals. I had the Ceaser's Salad. Was done very well. Way too much food. My son had the Morton's salad, chopped. Very good, and also too much food. For our entrees, my daughter had one of their special mix entrees with Scallops, Shrimp and a petite steak. My son had the Porterhouse. My wife and son's girlfriend had rib eye. I had a New York Strip. All of these were perfect to requested temperature. Great job. I come in here once a while with my boyfriend and can absolutely say this place is above and beyond. We like to sit at the bar and Jarred and Zachary have always been our bartenders. They have absolutely been amazing everytime while giving us a hospitality feel at Morton's to making us feel like long time guests. I will say we are not people to ask for anything extraordinary and when we just came in recently we saw another couple being Karen's and Ken's, I hate seeing this upon wait staff for them and felt so bad a couple that seem to be "regulars" were giving the wait staff some problems. They handled it like professionals and for that reason I credit both the tenders. We just come in for a night cap usually and our drinks are always impeccable and always have a great time at Morton's! Thank you to our awesome bartenders !! read more

The $10 salad was lettuce and a little crumbled egg, Portillos has a better salad than this. And the $22 bacon wrapped Scallops were even more unappetizing. We recently went to Morton's to celebrate our anniversary. I ordered the fillet. The first strep was way over cooked. The second attempt, while better than the first was not very good. In my opening , it was sous vide ahead of time and lightly grilled once my order went it. The food was served very quickly after the order went in so that could make sense. It didn't look or taste like a freshly grilled steak. The salmon tasted like metal and the wagyu steak was not good either. Hopefully, it was an off night. But we will never go back. read more
