Filet mignon sliders very good , minestrone soup NOT so good

Gently nestled along the west side of Waukegan Rd is we stopped in for a bite. Atmosphere very welcoming sit either in the main restaurant or the back half with open air dining and a nice big screen to watch the tube. I had filet sliders and minestrone. The filet was perfect but the minestrone was not minestrone and tasted horrible overloaded with oregano. Also at the table was a shrimp wrap and string fries which was put together perfectly. Our server was prompt and greeted us shortly after being seated. The service was very good If you're in the glenview area this is a must stop You'll be glad you did

Unexpected gem in Glenview! Don't know how many times I've driven by here and never popped in. That Valley Lodge signature cocktail packs a punch. It has Chambord and cranberry juice in it, I believe. All I know is I had to hand off the car keys after that drink. I was feeling pretty good and buzzed up after downing it. A round of martinis for happy hour here would be fun. Note to self. On our first visit (walked in on Valentine's Day on a whim), the prime rib was a comforting meal. Huge serving, and I chose the baked potato on the side. Had plenty of leftovers. My husband got a pasta dish that was A-OK but not one that warranted a recommendation. The shrimp wrap was a winner on our second visit, but the homemade chips were fried in borderline rancid oil, and that didn't taste good. The saganaki prep tasted a bit off, just got more sourness than expected from the hot appetizer. Our kiddos were 2/2 in ordering the cheeseburger and fries, which was filling and hit the spot for them. Complementary bread (white and a raisin nut) offered too. Attentive waitstaff and especially bussing staff. Easy parking in the surround lot, but it fills up fast. Recommend for sure, but keep an eye on that oil they use for frying!

Finally decided to give this place a try after years of driving past it. The food was decent, but nothing special. What was special was the care they took making sure my dd, who has a gluten allergy, could eat safely. The server was tremendously helpful in explaining options and the cooks prepared her meal separately to prevent cross contamination. Really appreciate the care they showed! Definitely more of a bar vibe, we were yelling to hear each other. If that's what you're after you will like the ambience.

The flame is almost out on the saganacki, but so fun while it lasted!

Great local place, with a Wisconsin Supper Club-type vibe. I called on a Saturday afternoon and asked if we needed a reservation if we were there by 4:45 PM. She said no, come on over! We ran a little late, and didn't get there until 5:15 PM, and by then there were just two tables left. We chose the one farther from the door, and it was fine, but next time we'll get there just a bit earlier! This place is very popular! We started with the Saganaki, which was delicious. Our server flamed it at the table, which was fun since so many places don't do that anymore. Some very tasty bread was served - several slices, each of crusty white and pumpernickel - with a nicely ample serving of whipped butter. Our choice of soup or salad was the minestrone. It was hearty and yummy. We both ordered our entrées from their Specials menu - I had the Shrimp de Jonghe, and my husband had the Prime Rib. I loved that the shrimp came with just a side of buttered pasta, and nothing else. That with the shrimp was plenty for me! There were six large shrimp, ensconced in garlic butter then covered and baked with breadcrumbs. It was delicious. Also, much to my pleasure as it doesn't seem to be the case much these days, they had removed the full shell, so no need to forage with my fingers in the garlic butter to extract the tail shells. Yay! My husband's prime rib came with green beans, and his choice of potato, which was garlic mashed. It was a huge cut of meat, and he said it was very good. I did sneak a small taste, and would've preferred a little more peppercorn flavoring, but it was very good, and served perfectly medium rare. He was happy! I had their house Manhattan, and he had a mai tai. Both drinks were very good. We were too full for dessert, but that leaves something for us to try the next time!

Went here with a group of 4. Was a nice place. Friendly service. Good food. I was excited when I saw saganaki! I love cheese! Sadly, I was recommend the saganki burger. I'd just go with straight saganaki if you are like me and really just want the cheese. But everything was great. Everyone really enjoyed their food.

The store is brightly lit and clean (almost sterile feeling) when you walk in, with plenty of tables for dine-in eating. There is a counter to order with menus on the wall. The menu is simple and straight forward, you pretty much have burger, chicken sandwich, or wings. They also have a boba menu with many flavors and they have a soft serve ice cream machine! My partner and I had stopped in for a late lunch/early dinner and we dined in. The gentleman who took our order was very kind and as it was my first time in, answered all my questions about the menu as I ordered. I got a chicken sandwich (but without whatever their signature spicy ... addition? topping? seasoning? is) and a strawberry boba. My partner got a ghost burger, loaded fries, and a pina colada boba. We grabbed a table to wait and the boba came out first. These are super delicious, I've never ordered a boba anywhere else and had it come out like these, but they are like blended and creamy and also some of the best "popping" or "tapioca" additions/mix ins that I've ever had. I went back the next day to get another strawberry boba it was so delicious. The food here is over the top good. The sandwiches and fries come out loaded and messy and in huge portions. The chicken sandwich is so moist and tender, they are definitely frying chicken right here. The house sauce is tasty, flavorful and not too spicy. Neither of us were able to finish our orders here (you really get your money's worth!) but we left stuffed to the brim. I'm so happy this spot is within walking distance for me, I can treat myself to their delicious boba any time, and we will definitely be back for more sandwiches. Thank you, Sizzle! The main dining room has a view of the kitchen, and the second dining room is adjacent to the bar. I recommend the bar, as I am not a fan of open kitchens and if you are lucky you can get a table against the windows, secluded from the hubbub. It is a loud, energetic space. They have a solid cocktail program, particularly their riff on a Black Manhattan with bourbon and Demerara - a refugee from an Old Fashioned. I recommend swapping out bourbon for rye and holding the Demerara - its an excellent drink. A good collection of Italian and American wines. We ordered the Lemelson, a light bodied Pinot from Willamette Valley. It paired well with the lobster ravioli special and roast chicken. For food, we ordered the aforementioned entrees, and started with the meatballs and the beet salad. The meatballs were superb, flavorful and juicy. The beet salad was delicious, as were the entrees. Just a note, they have a very heavy hand with the sauces. The lobster ravioli came with a cognac cream sauce that painted the plate. It had much more tomato than I was led to believe but the dish was still very good. Kelly had the red wine reduction on the side for her chicken, and it was a veritable bowl of soup! The mushrooms are actually in the sauce, and it has a strong bitter flavor - I liked it but it was not Kelly's favorite. Still, a very good dish. We went light for dessert and had a scoop of gelato and a scoop of sorbet. They were both excellent. Service is friendly, the tables have plenty of space between them and the restrooms are accessible. No valet, but a free city lot is a short block away and street parking is available. Definitely worth a trip from the city.

Spacious and elegant, the bar area seemed even larger than the dining room, though not many people were there for Happy Hour (please add more options to Happy Hour). We split a charcuterie plate (not exciting) and some pinsas (flatbread pizzas), one a margherita style and the other a pesto flavor (our favorite). We basically met to have some drinks and catch up but I would have welcomed a few more choices. The staff was very attentive and friendly and even sent out some complimentary bruschetta. There is plentiful free parking. It's great to have another restaurant in this area of downtown Skokie. Though I didn't have dinner, my friends recommend it!

I think they have altered their prices to accommodate inflation and the portions were actually small.
